Everytime I hear a goal is scored it is usually preceded by Smith doing something wrong.

For his debut Rondon was ok....fastball had some life, he didn't completely trust his slider though. Facing Butler sure as hell didn't help him any.

All in all, he was fine and it could have gone worse.

2 things with all of that....you can't account for speed. The VCU team speed is much much quicker than Arkansas and secondly VCU expects to win where it seems like Arkansas hopes to win.

Also, if your not making shots then the press is still effective. This will be a test to see how good the other guards are with pressure on them with the ball. Team hasn't seen this kind of pressure all year long.

Also if the bigs were ever going to get something going inside this is the game to do it.

Unless their OL play improves I dont think it matters who is the OC of that team.

I actually like Dakich to be honest. He doesn't bother me at all and people seem to go out of their way to find things to hate about him.

As far was the Wright/Dakich bitchfest...all I'll say about coaching is that Linden HS in Michigan used to be a solid program and is now currently 1-15 and their league is TERRIBLE.

I would have loved to play legit football one more time...but my HS never did it and I doubt half the kids on my team are even in remotely bad shape to even contribute.

At this point with some of he big WR's that have come in a nice slot guy has to be appealing for Big Al. I hope the emergence of Gallon/Dileo with their route running gave Al the confidence for some fo the smaller WR's.

this game looks about 100x's much more organized than the UA game did...amazing when you get HS coaches to actually coach instead of former NFL guys their for TV and the espn presentation.

Also have zero doubt the Army game will look light years better than the UA game.

Well IMO that has been the best game Al has called against a quality D since he has been at michigan.....Devin while clearly was off battled and made plays when he had to.

Secondary is just slow....no other way to put it. Will be open season on secondary spots next season, no one should have a safe job.

Honestly...once Reynolds passed him up late in the season I think the writing was on the wall. 

I do wonder where the disconnect was as a lot of teammates thought he would be the guy to step up. Maybe the route reads from the WR position weren't his cup of tea and maybe a more spread oriented passing game is what he needs.

Either way best of luck to the kid, he gave it 2 full yrs instead of quitting on the spot. Shows a lot of maturity on his part to put the work in like he did.

Beilema to Ark kinda scares me to be honest....not saying it will happen but I still get a feeling Green really wants to play down south and now the perfect offense and coach for his game is in the south.

As far as non BCS bowls....those look a lot more interesting and I might be the only one but I think the B1G does better than people think it will. I could see UM, Sparty, NW, NEB all winning.

That would be a good get for Purdue. Jones is solid and at worse would get the best out of that program compared to Hope.

Yea...not sure what Peterson would see in Ark...first and foremost having to recruit against Saban, Miles etc...can't be a fun thought.

I'd rather not see that offense. If we thought NW was tough, this will be a whole different nightmare.

I'll hold all guesses until we see what the offense is doing....However, feel confident in the D giving a chance to win every single game.

cant stand ND...but their D is more than good enough to handle that Bama O and in a 60 min game the way the season has gone, I wouldn't bet against ND at this point. They have passed every test one way or another.

Sparty is getting smoked because they have to respect Martinez as a passer. As much as everyone makes fun of the way Martinez throws the ball....this season he is light years better than Denard as a passer. Stats show it and the decision making shows it.

One donkey hating lineman isn't going to cut it at all.....that is the biggest problem. No ability to drive block with this group, just the way it is right now. Schofield to me is a guard and had much better success inside last year but he is needed outside this year.

Barnum/Pat O just dont get that drive block we are looking for and are usually a yard in the backfield when they even try it. 

But for me all in all it comes back to Denard and his inability to keep a defense honest with his arm. With that said I do think the constant long developing pass plays Borges is in love with dont seem to hit paydirt to often Teams are willing to spy Denard and just sit and wait for him to take off. 

I've said it one and I'll say it again...what exactly is the offense? I've never been sold on Borges and just dont understand how this guy has lasted as long as he has. Bellomy wasn't great but he wasn't helped out by our OC or WR's tonight.

I know the guy isn't going to be fired, but I truly believe with him as your OC and him overseeing the QB's it's not going to be pretty. Gonna be hard to land Treadwell and Green and any other playmakers when you got Al running things.

Mattison, no complaints has more than done his job with not his ideal personnel either. What is Borges excuse? They both got dealt bad hands and one actually did something with it while the other one made his side worse than it was a year ago.

No TD's in 2 games is absolutely inexcuseable from his side of the ball.

I invite everyone to go to the RCMB...their game thread is bringing tears to my eyes. It seems that the only reason they can't get pressure is due to holding on every single play. Also, Delaney put a call into the office in week 2 to make sure Sparty sucked this year.

Really grade A stuff this week from that group.

Love Denard...but you can see against Sparty even the threat of a consistent passing game and their D doesn't have a clue.
