I am going to miss Urlacher  I wish he was still playing but I am glad that he did not end up with another team such as Minnesota or someone else in the NFC North.  He was a lot of fun to watch through the years and he will be missed.  Unfortunately he's been very injury prone over the last few years and definitely was struggling a bit on the field because of the injuries and because of his age.

The only person that is being a selfish asshole is you. This is a terrible event that warrants a thread for people who can possibly make a difference and help out in any way possible. My thoughts and prayers are with those affected by this tornado.

Like I said I love Michigan because of all of my family members who have attended the university but when it comes to professional sports I am all Chicago. I'm pretty sure, actually 100% sure that there are plenty of people who love Michigan but cheer for professional teams other than Detroit

Nope. Just born and raised in Chicago but my family is originally from Grand Rapids as well as Shelby Township. Plus my grandpa, dad, uncle and two cousins attended Michigan which is where I get my Michigan love from. Quite a bit of my family are Red Wings fans though because of originating from Michigan so we have a fun rivalry. I'm not one of those "Detroit sucks" Blackhawks fans because of that reason.

I think he was talking about road trips to both Rutgers and Maryland in the same year, not regarding having to play them in the same year.

Eligibility is based on a player who graduated from HS for at least a year and is 19 years old. They changed that back in like 06 or 07.

when comparing a football game and a basketball game. Both great games and performances but it's difficult to choose between the two. Need to put a comparison together of another great basketball performance.

It amazes me how many times I hear people saying that their wife's bracket is doing better than their own. In all of those cases their wife isn't even a fan of college basketball.  They just have some crazy way of picking the winners. It never really makes sense but I guess in regards to the tournament anything can really happen.

UNC doesn't have much size at all whereas Withey worries me a bit for Kansas. I think we could beat either but I think I would rather play UNC.

Definitely a great move by Pitt. Yes he's had a couple rough early exits but he's really sustained the program and built them to be very competitive each year. I'll be interested to see how the fmr Big East teams do in the ACC.

I like the sound of that run that UCONN had for us. That was remarkable. I agree that this is a time to build momentum, improve on areas that require improvement and revenge the prior losses we had in the season. I'm hoping they can build some confidence in this tourney that they can win the close games by taking care of the things that help you finish. As others said, let them rest by creating rest. Get a big lead and then sit some guys.

I'm sure that "other" board is having a total meltdown right now even though this was probably seen as inevitable.  3 visits within 3 weeks while there were events going on at MSU is pretty telling.  It's not a lock he comes to Michigan but it feels more likely he would pick Michigan than MSU. Would love to have this kid!

Need a victory today to clinch a share of the Big East. Picked seventh in the Big East and could end up tied for first. Great coaching by Buzz Williams after losing their stars from last year.

Reasons I care is that even though its a video game the cover is another avenue of promoting the University of Michigan and Michigan football.  I am not saying its going to bring in recruits or have any effects like that because again its a video game however any promotion of the university especially across the country is great. I think its great publicity and as someone who purchases this game on an annual basis I feel I will enjoy it more if Denard is on the cover. It's also a competition and any competition that Michigan is in I want us to win and will support them in the competition especially when there are all of the haters out of there who are voting against Michigan. Those are just a couple reasons I want Denard on the cover.

Anyone know what the actual end time of the vote is today?  All I have seen is that it ends on March 8th but not at what time it ends. Hopefully sooner than later given the current vote results.

Denard was up by close to 14k yesterday and now it's a little over 8k. I know it ends tomorrow but it doesn't state what time tomorrow. That was a huge swing since yesterday so hopefully we can hold off Swope. Denard has been leading since pretty much the start so let's wrap this up. Would love to have the third Michigan player on a cover.

I've asked my friends who went to Illinois and they don't even know why they hate Michigan so much. Their answer was "we just do".  I know some of my older friends hate Michigan because of the 1989 basketball season.  They are still pissed about losing in the Final Four but as far as football goes there's no comparison so I really don't know why the hate wold be.

Years of domination maybe?  I've been to quite a few Michigan games on the road and for whatever reason I would tend to hear more heckling from their fans than some of the other fans with their clever "Muck Fichigan" and "Ann Arbor is a Whore" t-shirts.  The best was after we played them in 2007 which was a night game and I think a year or two before that they only had like 2 wins but for whatever reason some of the fans thought Illinois was better. They did go to the Rose Bowl that year but obviously this was before all of that.

Literally telling everyone I know to vote.  Seems like we're doing a great job.  Keep it up! Keep telling everyone you know who is on Facebook to vote for Denard.

Especially since Montgomery was the one who was involved in bringing in Ferns, Speight and Mone.  You never like it when a guy is bringing in quality players like that. He was also pretty involved with quite a few other guys on the board so its a great thing he's gone. I would definitely not call him "dead weight".  He did a pretty good job while at Michigan.

Love seeing the way this program has developed over the last few years. Kim Barnes Arico is doing a great job and hopefully she'll keep the program moving forward. Interested to see how the rest of the season plays out for this team.

I'm a huge Bears fan so when they would play the Packers it would be hard for me to root against him and at least hope that he played well.  Now I can go back to just completely hating the Packers.  Hopefully he'll find himself a good situation where he can finish out his career.

Tough break for Noel and UK.  You've got to wonder how badly this will affect his draft stock.  I've seen him rated as the #1 pick in a few different draft projections. Hopefully he'll recover and get back to 100%.  Got to wonder if he even considers staying another year even though thats further risking injury.

I'm a realistic guy haha. I know that NIU winning is highly unlikely but it was a situation where they'll probably never have this opportunity again so I needed to make the trip down. Plus you can't beat south beach on New Years. Was originally hoping the Outback Bowl was earlier in the day on the 1st because I would have tried to make both games by going to Tampa and Miami. As it stands now its too tight so I won't be able to make it.

Mickey Tettleton's son Tyler is a pretty solid player for Ohio. He's done a pretty good job for them the last two years. Got a chance to see him in the MAC Championship loss against NIU last year and seemed to be a good player. I expected the conference to be doing a little better so far. After this game there are two more MAC teams playing.

I believe there are the same number of teams in bowls for both the MAC and Big Ten. I think it's 7 teams for both conferences.

It's a little closer for Cass Tech than NIU or Kent St. The MAC championships always struggle for filling the stadium. I've gone to the last three for NIU

What's your deal? I think you're off the rocker here. I think you're the one who's trying to be a badass when the purpose here is to support the Mealer family. All he's trying to say is that the Mealer family is a Michigan family, he witnessed the support from the Michigan coaches and the Michigan community and was able to see what it did for the Mealer family in their recovery. The strength shown by the family since this tragedy has been amazing and has been uplifting for many. For you to think anyone is trying to commemorate this event or is trying to look at this any other way than to further support, remember and pray for the family is crazy.

They have the 1998 Rose Bowl on now, then the Big Ten Elite for the 1997 team at 10pm and at midnight is the 2000 Orange Bowl. It's been fun flipping back and forth throughout the day!

That is a situation that never needed to take place and was totally avoidable. Unfortunately I've been affected by situations like this through the loss of two friends to drunk drivers. He's a millionaire. Call a nice limo to pick you up. Stories like this one really bothers me.

I believe that's for 2013. The Final Four for 2012 is in Louisville, KY and those dates are 12/13 and 12/15. It's to be played at the KFC Yum Center.

Amazing how cheap the tickets are on stubhub! Looking forward to making the trip down to check out the game. Would love to be able to hit the Outback Bowl earlier that day and then the Orange Bowl at night. I think the times of the games may be 1pm and 8:30pm. Would be a great day! Just depends on how long it would take to go from Tampa to Miami. Would probably be too tight to make both.

Or are you just basing this on them being a MAC team? If Georgia Tech can play with Florida State, NIU may have a chance. Probably not to win it but I would not expect a blow out. NIU is a very tough team. If Coach Doeren is not coaching that would further hurt their chances of competing though.

They've got Jordan Lynch! The guy is a great player! He's led this team all year and has put up some pretty impressive stats.

However yes I do feel that it is very unlikely they would win this game.

N.C. State got a very good coach. My favorite team after Michigan is NIU. I've been to 5 of their games this year including the MAC championship. Doeren has done a great job there and hopefully will continue to do the same at N.C State. He's a coach with class and well loved by NIU. Everyone is pretty bummed he's gone but is happy he's gotten a great opportunity. Will now be interesting to see where NIU ends up for a bowl game after the losses over the weekend and their win over Kent St

I want Nebraska to win. Would rather go to the Capital One Bowl than the Outback Bowl However seeing them in this game is disturbing knowing that we could have potentially been in this game if it weren't due to injury.

Terrible decision by the NBA. I think what Popovich is doing with his aging/tired stars is understandable. I hope this is thrown out.
