I'm 34, and I can't imagine being on a stage that large. These young men held up well under all the pressure. I'm incredibly proud of these guys, and I can't wait for next year. |

Sublimely Self-Righteous and beer margaritas. |
| 1 year 25 weeks ago | Poor guy |
His eyes have a look of sheer terror. I could not imagine what he must have been feeling right then. Good thing we pulled it out! He can rest easy tonight, even though I'm sure he'll never forget that moment. |
| 2 years 20 weeks ago | My name is I miss Spring Lake... |
...and I approve of this message. |
| 2 years 25 weeks ago | Beaver?! |
Did the beaver make his/her appearance today? No? Maybe that was the problem... |
| 2 years 28 weeks ago | Wooooohooooo!!! |
I'm sitting here in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia trying to watch the GameCast on ESPN, the internet keeps cutting in and out, and the tracker was just stuck on 67-65... brutal! Finally I decided to just cruise on over here. Bowl eligible!!! Now I can go to bed happy. Enjoy the rest of your college football viewing day, boys and girls! |
| 2 years 35 weeks ago | Simply... |
...awesome. Great job on this. |
| 2 years 36 weeks ago | Rash |
I think he has a rash on his face. It looks awfully itchy... EDIT: Oh dear God, the rash has now spread to his shoulder!!! Run, guy with stupid 'Kelly' t-shirt, run!!! |
| 2 years 36 weeks ago | Wow |
If I were you I'd look over my shoulder, because Harvey Keitel is not to be fucked with. |
| 2 years 37 weeks ago | Awesome |
Can't wait to see the vid. I'm really proud of these guys. |
| 2 years 37 weeks ago | No |
Dude, they won't let you drink in the hospital. |
| 2 years 38 weeks ago | Comic Con |
I sat in on this panel at Comic Con. The cast and crew all seemed very excited about their work. I'm just glad this is a show and not a movie. The story deserves to be told over time, it's so complex. I anticipate this being my go-to show that will replace BSG. |
| 2 years 39 weeks ago | Ok |
So, I've been knocking a few back tonight (which always softens my heart a bit), but I love our guys. Watching that first video is a perfect reminder of why I am as invested as I am. These guys are respectable. They seem like great guys who are in love with the game and know how lucky they are to be able to play the game at Michigan. I couldn't be more excited for the season to start. Thanks for posting these videos! Also, was that a half smile on the face of MRob?! Say it ain't so. |
| 2 years 39 weeks ago | Best friends? |
Did we just become best friends?! |
| 2 years 39 weeks ago | FYI |
Last year's game against ND is scheduled to run after it, as well. |
| 2 years 39 weeks ago | No |
Even Johnny is way too good for State. |
| 2 years 39 weeks ago | Bionic leg from the future?! |
Zoltan will go to the future in which he has created bionic limbs for football players. He will bestow the great gift unto Hagerup in return for service in his space armada. Also, he will try to bestow one unto T-Wolf as well. However, T-Wolf will decline stating, "Thank you, but no. I want to crush OSU, MSU, and ND with my own extremities next year." This is all true. I read it on a tweet earlier today. |
| 2 years 39 weeks ago | Love this idea. |
I'd buy that shirt, even though those Gildan shirts shrink to a Baby Gap T after one wash. Hook it up, UGP! |
| 2 years 39 weeks ago | Points inflation!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
Let's force Brian to raise the levels!!!!!!!!!!! After this, everyone is going to be Double Secret Probation Elite First Class Executive Members of the MGoBlog community. |
| 2 years 39 weeks ago | Perfect timing |
Well done. I'm glad you decided to finish it. I'm gonna go punch something for fun. |
| 2 years 39 weeks ago | What?! |
Just when I was starting to learn my lesson and be less selfish with my points?! Oh well, I will also +1 everyone on this thread as a celebration of our liberation! Hoorah! Keeping scheming, RR! |
| 2 years 39 weeks ago | +1 to you |
I'm giving you your point back with the point I earned from this post. (I also happen to agree that negging him/her was well worth it for me, too.) To the OP: I wholeheartedly agree on your sentiments. And you're absolutely right that we will never know the impact Woolfolk would have made on the number of wins or losses. Now, all that's left is to support our guys the best way that we can. Floyd and Christian, we're behind you and eager to see what you can do on September 4th. |
| 2 years 39 weeks ago | Correct me if I'm wrong, |
but isn't the staff that turned Mundy around now working at Michigan? Admittedly, I don't know if this is the truth or not. |
| 2 years 40 weeks ago | Visiting tomorrow. |
Ok, so I love beer. Really love it. But I'm visiting just for the day tomorrow and I want to take home some collectables to remember my trip. Is this the right place to go? (To be clear, I mean Growlers, beer holders, etc.) I didn't want to start a thread, but I'm glad this one was started at the same time that I will be in town. (Visiting from Cali.) Thanks for any advice you guys and girls can give me. Great to be back in God's country, btw. |
| 2 years 40 weeks ago | YES |
Is Mike Martin THE KNOWLEDGE?! "YES... That's true." |
| 2 years 41 weeks ago | 2012 |
A Senior Denard Robinson? Epic indeed. |
| 2 years 41 weeks ago | San Diego State University |
Oregon has many, many fine beers. I wholeheartedly agree with you on that point. However, I'd also want to play SDSU, in that case. I've been in southern California for the last six years, and I would hate to ever move, if only for the fact that I'd be moving away from some of the best breweries in the world (especially if you like IPAs). San Diego is my new Mecca. |
| 2 years 41 weeks ago | Friendly |
Man, Patrick is just a very friendly, down-to-earth guy. I feel this is a consistent trend in the guys that RR is recruiting. Not only do they have such great potential and skill, but they seem like great guys who want the best for their team. I can't wait to see what Patrick can do this year. Thanks for posting the video in non-apocalypse format, by the way. |
| 2 years 41 weeks ago | I think you're right |
I remember that being the case, as well. He said he enjoyed the classes. Maybe he made the switch recently. He wouldn't be the first college student to change his major. I think I changed mine twice. |
| 2 years 42 weeks ago | Sarcasm? |
Not sure if this is sarcasm, but it was a four or five minute clip of the movie. I'm getting the feeling that it was sarcasm, though. Maybe my detector is faulty. |
| 2 years 42 weeks ago | Video footage |
It was actual video footage panning up from his boots to his helmet/mask. It just looked unfinished to me. Aaron Eckhart would have been a fantastic choice, but only if he bulked up quite a bit. I should also mention that they showed us a clip of Hugo Weaving as a German soldier that was pretty intriguing. He plays the Red Skull. (Admittedly, I don't know that much about the Captain America storyline.) |
| 2 years 42 weeks ago | As am I |
They showed a (very!) brief shot of Evans in the suit, and I thought it looked pretty goofy. However, they did say that they were still in the process of doing "costume rehearsals". He also doesn't seem serious enough for the role. We'll see, I guess. |
| 2 years 42 weeks ago | I'm a nerd |
I was one of the nerds in attendance at ComicCon last weekend. After the Thor panel, they brought out the entire cast of the Avengers - Downey Jr., ScarJo, Sam Jackson, Chris Evans, etc. It was pretty cool to see them all up on stage. There was a huge nerdgasm that wasn't reported on tv. Joss Whedon was with them, too. EDIT: Also, for those who aren't keeping up with casting news, Jeremy Renner (The Hurt Locker) is set to play Hawkeye, and Mark Ruffalo is the new Bruce Banner now that Ed Norton is out. |
| 2 years 44 weeks ago | HTTV |
Now that I'm reading HTTV I'm starting to ease back on the sleepless nights. That's a great shot of Woolfolk. I want all of our D, not just our Spur, to get their meat raw. |
| 2 years 45 weeks ago | Caustic |
I really like Bourdain's humor at times. Thanks for pointing this out, M-Wolverine. I'll schedule it to record right now. |
| 2 years 45 weeks ago | Summer |
I used to really love the summer months as a kid. Now, they just feel long and drawn out, torturous. I can't wait to see RVB and the DLine take over this year. |
| 2 years 45 weeks ago | I didn't neg you, but... |
I think the reason you were negged is because you can't bind dilithium. Therefore, "Dilithium Unbound" is nonsensical. / |
| 2 years 46 weeks ago | Here goes... |
5) Platoon 4) Tears of the Sun (Not really a war, but guns were involved. So... yeah.) 3) Saving Private Ryan 2) The Last of the Mohicans 1) Glory Honorable Mention: Band of Brothers (Since it's not a movie.) |
| 2 years 46 weeks ago | Last line |
Your last line says it all. You're not hurting anybody, and as long as your wife-to-be is cool with it, then it doesn't matter what your premarital counselors think. If they have some good advice, by all means, take it. Otherwise, continue celebrating Saturdays as they were meant to be celebrated. |
| 2 years 46 weeks ago | Memories |
I used to live in Spring Lake as a kid, which is next door to GH. Things I remember: The Clover Bar for pizza, and The Front Porch for ice cream. No idea if it's as good as I remember. Hope that helps. |
| 2 years 47 weeks ago | Oh well. |
On to the next one. Thanks for the info, Tom. It makes sense, since his dad lives in the area. I don't blame him. The nice thing is, we are in good standing with several OL prospects. Hopefully, we'll pull some in soon to bolster our next class. |
| 2 years 48 weeks ago | Hair? |
What's wrong with that dude's hair? [Note: I'm 31, but now that I just typed that, I feel so much older. Actually... I'm okay with that. His hair is ridiculous.] |
| 2 years 48 weeks ago | I like this offer |
After taking Tate and Denard, then Devin, I really like this guy. I hope he decides on us. He seems solid, like he wants to play at Michigan. If we land him, I'd be excited. Its appears that we're developing quite the depth chart at QB. I like his size, too. The QB position is looking good for the future. In other news, the season is way too far away. Each day feels like an eternity. The food and drink menu for the season start is growing tired of being reworked. |
| 2 years 48 weeks ago | Inopportune moment |
I love that she was picking her zits during that shot. Congrats. Forever immortalized as the girl who was nervously picking her zits in dazed disbelief. Now, everyone who watches this classic game from here to eternity will remember her at that moment. EDIT: My apologies for a wasted post. Njia commented on the infamous zit-picking before I did. |
| 2 years 49 weeks ago | Two Hulks? |
A 12'5" 420 lb. linebacker? I like the sound of that. Then we'd have two Hulks on defense... at least for one season. This idea is full of win. |
| 2 years 49 weeks ago | I'll have to remember these. |
I'm planning a trip to AA in August. I haven't been there since I was in junior high and I thought of posting a thread for suggestions as the trip drew closer. This is a great start. Thanks. Also, I'm very hungry now. |
| 2 years 49 weeks ago | Thanks, Tom. |
With everything that's going on, I'm continually impressed with the coaching staff's effort in recruiting and their ability to do it well. Bring on the LBs, please. |
| 2 years 50 weeks ago | Obscure |
I had to +1 you simply for the Buckaroo Bonzai signature. |
| 3 years 3 weeks ago | Clarification |
I would absolutely love to see Turner and Floyd grab a hold of these spots, no question. I guess I should say that even if he doesn't start, I think Christian is still an important part of our defense this year. Your scenario is the best one for sure. If I made it sound like I expect him to be a lockdown CB, I don't think that's realistic, either. However, I'll feel a lot better knowing he's there to back up the starters. |
| 3 years 3 weeks ago | Thanks, Tim |
Even though I would love to watch him in action before he puts on the Maize and Blue, I also like knowing that this eliminates the possibility of an injury. He's going to be a major part of our success at CB this year. |
| 3 years 3 weeks ago | Cullen |
I wonder why Christian dropped out of the Ohio-Penn Classic. Could it be that with the Dorsey situation, he is trying to stay healthy going into camp? Not trying to be a conspiracy theorist here, but if I had a better than good chance to start as a true Freshman I wouldn't take the risk of getting hurt before I arrive at camp. |
| 3 years 5 weeks ago | Weird |
As I started reading this, ESPN First Take just showed a tweet from Mangold regarding Santonio Holmes going to the Jets: "It's good to have around another quality Buckeye around. Take that stupid Michigan." No joke. |
| 3 years 6 weeks ago | Mega Shark vs. Giant Octopus!?! |
Sounds epic. I'm going to put on the original Dawn of the Dead and enjoy my buzz. I 'had' to drink a 2-liter growler of Oaked Arrogant Bastard Ale (that I had filled at Stone Brewery on Thursday) before it got funky. I'll enjoy my zombies while you enjoy your killer marine life! |
| 3 years 6 weeks ago | Great combo! |
I love your username coupled with the J.Long pic. It's magical. |
| 3 years 6 weeks ago | Personable |
He seems like a very personable guy. I hope he does well this season. I'll be rooting for him. Also, thanks for embedding the video. +1 |
| 3 years 7 weeks ago | Blindsided |
Yup, I was blindsided by this as I am on the west coast. Nice one, jg2112. |
| 3 years 7 weeks ago | Youtube |
I noticed that there is a channel called 'mgovideo' that has all sorts of Michigan football goodies - all the 'Five Good Questions with...' videos, plus more. Jackpot. |
| 3 years 8 weeks ago | UM offer |
I understand the hesitation after the last two years, but if any of us were really qualified to coach for Michigan, then we could justifiably judge this kid's acumen. As it is, the coaching staff found him worthy of an offer. Let's withhold judgment until we see what RR can do with his current recruits. |
| 3 years 9 weeks ago | Yup |
Yup, I only have half of my Final 4 left... and it's only the second round! I love March Madness. First Nova, then Kansas. If I had money on it I'd be pissed, but I love the underdog. |
| 3 years 9 weeks ago | One of my favorites |
Yeah, Odoms has been one of my favorites since his freshman year. I anticipate feeling, at times, a deep sense of sadness during his Senior year. Hopefully, these next two seasons will be fantastic not only for him, but for the team in order to maximize his last two years and his future NFL potential. |
| 3 years 9 weeks ago | Absolutely not |
I see nothing wrong with your statement. |
| 3 years 9 weeks ago | St. Louis? |
Is that a St. Louis brewery? I've never heard of it, and I see my fair share of beers out here in California. I'll definitely keep my eyes open for it now, though. |
| 3 years 9 weeks ago | Just one? |
Damn. I guess I'll go with Stone Arrogant Bastard. It's a San Diego beer, and it's fantastic. A couple of these will get you going. |
| 3 years 9 weeks ago | Having read all of the |
Having read all of the positive comments about RR's friendliness and hospitality from recruits and their parents, I feel pretty good about this. I hope mom gets all her questions answered the way she wants them answered! |
| 3 years 10 weeks ago | Tall |
Damn, this dude's tall. I love it. He looks like an angry, tackle-loving giraffe out there. |
| 3 years 10 weeks ago | Hopefully sooner than later |
I think most of us are hoping that he does end up wearing it, but he has to earn it first. |
| 3 years 10 weeks ago | #3 |
I think he's referring to #3 in the video, Anthony Short, not Frost. |
| 3 years 11 weeks ago | Good news |
I love that he'll only be a true Soph. I'm already excited to see him at work this season let alone as a Senior. |
| 3 years 11 weeks ago | Mogwai |
Mogwai - Autorock It may be a bit too slow for a full video, but it's definitely serious enough. I'm seeing a lot of slow-mo awesomeness. |
| 3 years 11 weeks ago | Hmm... |
I agree with Tate and Molk for the offense (man, thinking through it, our O is really young). For the defense, I say Woolfolk, Martin, and RVB. |
| 3 years 12 weeks ago | Mateus |
Tim, can you give us an idea on why Mateus wasn't rated? I'm not expecting Jake Long greatness from a walk-on, but it would be great to have another lineman to go along with Pace in this class. It would be even greater if he was decent to good. That's a real big dude, btw. |
| 3 years 12 weeks ago | Jay-Z |
You couldn't be more undeserving of your user name. |
| 3 years 12 weeks ago | Awesome |
Oh, that's awesome. I will definitely catch it tonight. Looking forward to seeing it. Thanks for the post! |
| 3 years 12 weeks ago | Thanks |
Thanks for the info, Brian. You guys are always on the ball. |
| 3 years 14 weeks ago | Yup |
My father-in-law went to Illinois and he likes to use this term all the time. Me: "Yeah, scUM. I get it, because you added an "sc" in front of UM. That's awesome. I've never heard that before." Despite this, he's a very intelligent guy. He just suffers from having to root for a team with little to no tradition that envies ours. |
| 3 years 14 weeks ago | Teric and Cam |
I read somewhere that Teric is moving back to the offensive side of the ball. Also, I thought Cam would be headed to the LB group. Do you mean Thomas Gordon at safety? |
| 3 years 14 weeks ago | Nope |
Just a small kerfuffle. |
| 3 years 15 weeks ago | I agree regarding videos. |
It's fun to see their personalities on the video, and it makes me even more eager for them to succeed both on and off the field. Wow, we're still a long way off from the start of the season. Bummer. |
| 3 years 15 weeks ago | New QB at PSU |
I agree with almost everything you wrote, but I've mentioned before, I'm still optimistic about the PSU game. With PSU starting a new QB, I think that game could go in our favor. I also wouldn't mind seeing K. Newsome struggle against our D. :) |
| 3 years 16 weeks ago | Stone |
I had an excellent afternoon with my wife at the Stone brewery in Escondido, CA. After an Oaked Arrogant Bastard and a Ruination IPA with lunch, I left with a growler of Double Bastard which a friend and I tried hard to kill... and I was still able to bring some home for tomorrow. Good day. |
| 3 years 16 weeks ago | Childhood |
When I was a kid my family lived in Spring Lake, MI for a few years. Our favorite place was the Clover Bar for pizza, where I'd sink quarter after quarter playing 1942 (or was it 1941?). Also, walking to The Front Porch for ice cream during the summer months is another good memory. But, what I remember most about Spring Lake: the big trees - the ones that had been there for a very long time - and Lake Michigan in the summer. Not sure if it has changed over the years, but it remains beautiful in my mind's eye. |
| 3 years 16 weeks ago | Asplosion |
I almost launched my Vodka Tonic all over my laptop! Well done. For some reason I keep hearing Missy Elliot's "Get Your Freak On" when staring at el gato. |
| 3 years 17 weeks ago | Also, |
Leno's 10:00 show is tanking, driving viewers to other networks. Some sources say that those viewers are not changing the channel back after his show, which is a boost for the other networks. |
| 3 years 18 weeks ago | Wow... |
I'm embarrassed for them. I tried to watch the whole thing, but bowed out when the chorus hit and I heard the shaky voice. |
| 3 years 18 weeks ago | Good explanation |
This is probably the best explanation I've seen regarding the importance of Devin enrolling early. I still hope that Tate and Denard are more successful next season due to their first year of experience and have DG reshirt, but in the event that Denard does not make those strides it would be that much more beneficial for DG to have the extra time in practice. |
| 3 years 18 weeks ago | C-3PO v. Vader |
Especially when they believe their best chance at defeating Vader is C-3PO. |
| 3 years 18 weeks ago | I feel dirty... |
... like someone made me watch gay porn. I really want to laugh, but it's just so disturbing. |
| 3 years 18 weeks ago | Dire Straits |
I'm a big fan of Dire Straits. Mark Knopfler is an underrated guitarist, IME. |
| 3 years 18 weeks ago | No |
I live in California. |
| 3 years 18 weeks ago | Good perspective |
Thanks for posting this. |
| 3 years 18 weeks ago | Over the last few months: |
Cory Chisel and the Wandering Sons - Death Won't Send a Letter I've been on a iTunes binge lately. Hard to find time to fully digest all of these, but fun to try. |
| 3 years 18 weeks ago | Does anyone know... |
if Baxter had interest in Tennessee? I seem to remember something about this, but I hope I'm wrong. I would hate for the hiring of Kiffin at USC to be enough to placate Baxter and keep him there. |
| 3 years 18 weeks ago | Damn it! |
Wish I would have seen this last night before I bought the album on iTunes! Seriously, all I need to know, I learn on MGoBlog: chats about good beer, people dying and whatnot, entertainment. In the future I'm coming here first before I buy anything... ever. |
| 3 years 18 weeks ago | One thing |
I know you commented on a lot, but I have only one point in response to your post: I think with D. Clark gone, the PSU game is a W for us. Even though we're going on the road, I feel positive about this one. Also, I'd love a W over K. Newsome! |
| 3 years 19 weeks ago | Damn |
That's disappointing news, more so than the DG news. |
| 3 years 19 weeks ago | Positive |
It all sounds good. Like Tater wrote, I hope he does replace the divisive people in that department. He's going into a tough situation from the start. I wish him well. |
| 3 years 19 weeks ago | Ideal scenario |
Nothing against Murphy - I hope he succeeds wherever he goes - but I hope he and Grimes do end up splitting ways. With so many prospects still in the mix right now, I would love for a scholarship to go to another position of need. |
| 3 years 20 weeks ago | Where two or more are gathered... |
Where two or more are gathered... |
| 3 years 20 weeks ago | Ouch! |
That sentence made my head hurt. Btw, I did not neg you. EDIT: Actually, I just gave you a +1 for your avatar. I'm simultaneously disturbed and amused. |
| 3 years 21 weeks ago | Awesome avatar |
I decided to respond and give you a +1 even before reading your post. That's a terrific avatar for the holidays. Did you create it of find it? |
| 3 years 22 weeks ago | Agreed |
This is mine as well. I was going to credit Mathews, but it takes two. I think I lost 2 years of my life on that last drive. EDIT: I also enjoyed watching BG flatten Winston (I think it was Winston) during the MSU game. |
| 3 years 22 weeks ago | +1 |
+1 |
| 3 years 22 weeks ago | Funny |
Ok, I'm 30, but I still laughed at that last one. Does that mean something is wrong with me? It's fitting that I've been watching 'Arrested Development' lately... |
| 3 years 22 weeks ago | Exactly |
I've seen you post this before, but it is extremely appropriate for this occasion. +1 to you, sir. |
| 3 years 22 weeks ago | Nice |
Awesome! I'm very excited about this. Here's to receiving more good news this Saturday! |
| 3 years 22 weeks ago | Sick and awesome |
That movie creeps me out in so many ways, but it is a great movie. Hmmm... now I want to watch it. I think I'll put it on my Blockbuster queue. |
| 3 years 23 weeks ago | Excited for Vinopal |
Thanks for the info, cbish! He has speed, likes to hit, seems like an intelligent player... If he puts it all together in the Big House, he's going to earn the respect of everyone who ever doubted. |
| 3 years 23 weeks ago | We need you here, Carvin! |
I hope he reads this thread and finds a long list of fans who want to see him in the maize and blue. Please stay committed, Carvin. We're excited to see you take the field. |
| 3 years 23 weeks ago | It can't hurt |
Good point. RR's a smart coach. I think he operates with multiple intentions. Getting hard-working players like Vinopal and Johnson, while at the same time creating a pipeline, is a win/win. |
| 3 years 24 weeks ago | Ouch! |
Damn, that could have been a lot worse if he would've kept rotating. Good to hear that he left under his own power. |
| 3 years 24 weeks ago | Heisman |
We still have to endure the Heisman talk for a bit longer, too. Not to mention all the coverage if he does win it again. |
| 3 years 24 weeks ago | The Dark Knight Returns |
The Dark Knight Returns Also, The Long Halloween. |
| 3 years 24 weeks ago | West Coast Variety |
Not sure which of these you can get in your area... Rogue - Santa's Private Reserve Drawing a blank on some of the others I've tried out here. Of those, the Rogue is my favorite. I hope you can find it. |
| 3 years 24 weeks ago | Dude... Periods |
They're not just for the ladies. ;) |
| 3 years 24 weeks ago | ? |
I wonder what this means for our other DE/OLB recruits (Kenny Wilkins & Jordan Paskorz). Do you think landing DB would all but move them into the OLB position rather than the DE position. |
| 3 years 24 weeks ago | Solid point |
I agree that RR has a more established track record, hence my "still confident in RR" statement. But Kelly has done a good job at UC, and with all the positive press this year, probably wouldn't miss a beat in ND's recruiting. |
| 3 years 24 weeks ago | If this is true... |
this could really revive the UM/ND games going forward. Yes, I'm a little afraid of Kelly, but I'd much rather have another rivalry matchup actually be exciting and mean something. |
| 3 years 24 weeks ago | Rivalry |
You almost have to throw out all of the chivalry in a rivalry game... almost. |
| 3 years 24 weeks ago | Might not qualify |
Brian mentioned in a post earlier that Drake and Kinard are in danger of not qualifying. We'll see what happens with that, but it could free up two spots. |
| 3 years 24 weeks ago | You're not kidding. |
I thought the same thing. Nice work on the Caesar, Shredder. |
| 3 years 24 weeks ago | Dude, |
your avatar is frightening. What the hell is that? It's almost as scary as the Tom Hammond avatar that lurks around here sometimes. |
| 3 years 24 weeks ago | Interesting... |
that Chris Robinson is getting the amount of votes that he is. |
| 3 years 25 weeks ago | Rivals stats? |
Are you basing this on Rivals' stats info or do you have something more to go on? |
| 3 years 26 weeks ago | Bedtime story |
Nice. I want to print this out, keep it beside my bed, and have my wife read it to me tomorrow night as I try to fall asleep in the fetal position. |
| 3 years 26 weeks ago | V.Smith |
I'm not a big fan of the 'I had a dream' talk (minus the one from MLK), but I really did have one last night in which V.Smith ran one in on the first drive. I woke up soon after, so I didn't see the end... sorry. It would be great if OSU continually fails to wrap him up and he has a day that makes him a household name. Hey, I can dream. Unofficially: UM 27, OSU 24 Go Blue! |
| 3 years 27 weeks ago | LBs |
I hope we're still in it for Olaniyan. Recent reports have me a little worried that he's cooled on us. |
| 3 years 27 weeks ago | Petros |
Hahaha. Petros can be very annoying, but some of his commercials are amusing. So, I take it you're on the West coast? |
| 3 years 27 weeks ago | Ranging |
I seem to have been ranging from 4 to 7 in the last couple of weeks, but after today it's much closer to 7 as the season is coming to an end. [EDIT: Although, now I'll be EVEN more focused on following recruiting... and bargaining quite a bit.] |
| 3 years 27 weeks ago | Spicoli |
+1 for the Fast Times reference. Nicely done. |
| 3 years 27 weeks ago | That's the one |
That's the one that did it for me, too. "What kind of wood is this?" Classic denial. I've seen the "Afro Samurai" before, isolated from the rest of the video, but seeing the rest was great. Good find. Thanks. My other favorite line: "Hope you like pain." Hahahaha. |
| 3 years 27 weeks ago | Captain |
Also, +1 for the Captain America avatar! [shows his geek status with this reply] |
| 3 years 27 weeks ago | Junkie |
I started to sweat and shake. I didn't like it. Please never do that again... please. |
| 3 years 29 weeks ago | Plan B |
Another good alternative... |
| 3 years 29 weeks ago | No kidding |
How about December? I'm only half kidding. I don't even care that I wouldn't be able to start a thread. People are freaking out. |
| 3 years 29 weeks ago | I get what you're saying, |
but people don't ALWAYS change positions when they get to college. Linebacker recruiting has been tough for years. We're seeing the evidence now, unfortunately. |
| 3 years 29 weeks ago | Juice/Pryor |
Pryor is still young and relatively inexperienced, which is not the case with Juice.. I'm not going to say that Juice is better than Pryor, but they're at different stages developmentally as QBs. We got the best of Juice in '07, so there is a chance that we can do the same with Pryor '09. |
| 3 years 29 weeks ago | Thank you! |
A little perspective is helpful, indeed. |
| 3 years 29 weeks ago | Recruiting |
I think we should focus on recruiting actual LBs before condemning Hopson. He doesn't have much to work with. None of the guys on the line were recruited as LBs. That's very telling of Lloyd's final few years. |
| 3 years 29 weeks ago | I get it |
Yeah, I understand. I'm a little shaken, too. |
| 3 years 29 weeks ago | Too soon |
I understand the frustration, I really do. I haven't dropped this many f-bombs in quite a while. Well, at least since last week's game. But what do we all expect after last year?! 3-9! And now we have a true frosh QB and a very young team. EDIT: I'm not picking on you, necessarily. I'm just trying to make a point. |
| 3 years 29 weeks ago | Perspective |
Ok, I was wanting to see DRob really early in this game and I was disappointed in Tate's play. But let's remember that he's a true freshman and most of the players are underclassmen. |
| 3 years 29 weeks ago | David Brent |
+1 for David Brent. |
| 3 years 29 weeks ago | B |
B |
| 3 years 29 weeks ago | Hopefully a deterrent |
Florida is dangerously (if not already) close to recruiting with the same ease as USC. Let's hope he does make strong connections with the players and staff during his visit and that he doesn't mind the cold. |
| 3 years 30 weeks ago | Time machine |
This one was hard to watch. It's funny you titled your post as such. I was griping to my wife during the 3rd quarter, saying the only good explanation for this game is that I just went back in time to last year. |
| 3 years 31 weeks ago | DSU players |
Now, I wasn't watching the game with an eagle eye, but I was very impressed by the class of the DSU players. Numerous times I saw their players help our guys up off the field, even in the end zone. They didn't have to do that, and I wouldn't expect it. But even in the midst of an embarrassing defeat, they showed good sportsmanship. |
| 3 years 32 weeks ago | Actually, |
Woolfolk may be the fastest player on the team. The team thinks it's between him and DRob. He's plenty fast. |
| 3 years 32 weeks ago | Bad day fo sho |
Bama's D looks serious. Ole Miss was off balance all game long. |
| 3 years 32 weeks ago | Agreed |
Before the season started I counted Illinois as a toss up, if not a loss. Things look a bit different now, and still things can change (though not likely, seeing the game today). |
| 3 years 32 weeks ago | 7:00+ minute drive... |
...and nothing to show for it. FG is no good. Wisky is blowing it. |
| 3 years 32 weeks ago | Yup, |
but he has to get acclimated at some point. No way he avoids bad weather for four years. |
| 3 years 32 weeks ago | Oh... |
...how I hate Ohio State. |
| 3 years 32 weeks ago | Appletini man? |
Just joking. I'm referencing the show, Scrubs. I don't know if you've ever seen the show, but JD always orders Appletinis. I couldn't help myself. |
| 3 years 32 weeks ago | Pick 6 |
Pick 6 for UConn. They lead 14-3 over Pitt. |
| 3 years 32 weeks ago | NASCAR or Pitt/UConn |
I'm in Tustin. It's about halfway between L.A. and San Diego. Obviously I get UCLA/Oregon on ABC and Pitt/UConn or NASCAR on ESPN/2. EDIT: Definite +1 one for you, my friend. I guess I'm already buzzing because I didn't actually register what you said about HD vs. non-HD. I never knew ESPN did this! Thanks! |
| 3 years 32 weeks ago | Ditto |
I hate NASCAR. It's Saturday in October - don't they know it's CFB season?! |
| 3 years 32 weeks ago | No love... |
...out here on the left coast. |
| 3 years 32 weeks ago | Mirror Pond! |
Nice. Deschutes is one of my favorite breweries. It's hard to go wrong with Oregon beer. |
| 3 years 32 weeks ago | New OC |
I think it was a bad move to have the new OC adapt to the players rather than the players adapt to him. It's not like they're any better off doing it that way. Just take the hit (like we did last year) and prepare for the future. |
| 3 years 32 weeks ago | West Coast Variety |
-Stone IPA All shall be had today. |
| 3 years 32 weeks ago | Juice |
I expected their defense to struggle, but I'm surprised that their offense is nonexistent. I have to agree that right now they look like the worst team in the conference. That's just unacceptable with a QB like Juice. Zook's days are numbered. |
| 3 years 33 weeks ago | 99% |
No way we lose. |
| 3 years 33 weeks ago | Watched it late |
I had class this morning (I'm out in California), so I recorded the game and just finished watching about an hour ago. I was PISSED for most of the game until I saw Tate, the Comeback Kid, start to do his thing. When it went into OT I told my wife: "Of course I'll be disappointed if we lose, but I'm glad we finally showed up!" |
| 3 years 33 weeks ago | Hopson |
It's Hopson. EDIT: bouje beat me to it. |
| 3 years 35 weeks ago | 2nd one |
The second one is great. Nicely done. |
| 3 years 35 weeks ago | Yup |
I've also seen it three times. |
| 3 years 35 weeks ago | Debbie |
Downer |
| 3 years 35 weeks ago | Yikes |
Your avatar is frightening. |
| 3 years 36 weeks ago | Wow... |
Just... wow. What a d-bag. And what an incredible waste of time. How can he NOT feel like an ass? |
| 3 years 36 weeks ago | Cupcake? |
Houston is not at all what I'd consider a cupcake team. But I agree... Oklahoma State still should have won that game. But talk about bad luck... Houston got a couple of picks off of crazy tipped passes. Stillwater is not happy today. |
| 3 years 36 weeks ago | Miami game |
I thought about Torrian Wilson as I was watching the Miami/FSU game and wondered how much that win would factor into his choice. The announcers mentioned that there are 7 players from his high school on the Miami roster. |
| 3 years 37 weeks ago | Seriously... |
You'd think they'd do a better job of getting us to the game instead of trying to impress us with their "seamless" coverage... bastards. I'm hard-pressed, but I think D-Rob's TD run was my favorite play... future greatness between Forcier and Robinson! Great day! |
| 3 years 37 weeks ago | FU... |
for making me incredibly hungry with your avatar!!! |
| 3 years 37 weeks ago | Premature |
That comment (whoever said it) is based way too much on emotion. |
| 3 years 37 weeks ago | I just... |
threw up a little bit in my mouth. Thank you. |
| 3 years 37 weeks ago | No love lost |
No worries here. I actually gave you a +1 on another thread mainly because of your username. I have a good friend named Matt who is indeed a psycho. Here's another just to show you some goodwill. I just think since we're being attacked by the Newspaper That Must Not Be Named, ESPN, and... the world, we should support each other. [That sounded a little fruity. Sorry about that. I'm drinking some good beer tonight!] |
| 3 years 37 weeks ago | Nice |
I like the first two, but the last one is fantastic. Good work. |
| 3 years 37 weeks ago | Edit your post |
I don't think he was referring to his post, but to the ESPN article title. I could be wrong, though. EDIT: RR's huge face (otherwise known as OSUckSteverMSUcks) beat me to it. |
| 3 years 37 weeks ago | Shocking... |
...simply shocking. I used to be fairly indifferent toward ESPN, but my hatred grows with each passing day. Basically, my hatred is growing for most big media outlets these days (not just because of this story). It's not about news as much as it's about money. Shameful, really. |
| 3 years 37 weeks ago | Not to mention |
how many starters they lost on defense. |
| 3 years 37 weeks ago | What's the word? |
'Upbang' or 'posbang' (in contrast to 'negbang')? On that note, I just spent $50 on beer today for this weekend just for me (of course, I'm obviously getting started tomorrow with the official start of the season)! |
| 3 years 37 weeks ago | Crap |
Yeah, I just saw this on Rivals. |
| 3 years 37 weeks ago | Joined |
I just joined up, and I'll be writing Jennifer later tonight when I get a chance. |
| 3 years 37 weeks ago | Pissed |
Judging by the look on their faces from the press conference, I don't think they'll be too excited. I'm hoping for incredibly pissed off, like, "find the nearest opposing team, chew off their heads and drink their blood" pissed off. |
| 3 years 38 weeks ago | What Freep article?! |
Is it based on hard facts and unbiased opinion as always?! Ok, now that that's out of the way, I have NO idea why people get so pumped for pro football. And face paint on fat, balding men? Again, no idea. It just doesn't have the same passion that the college game has. |
| 3 years 38 weeks ago | Good story |
Thanks for helping put things in perspective. |
| 3 years 38 weeks ago | I'm with you |
I'm with you. This is particularly bad after a 3-9 season. Like we need more negative press. |
| 3 years 38 weeks ago | 11:00 West Coast |
Where else? At home drinking Rogue Dead Guy, watching an early morning game, and waiting (im)patiently for the return of the victors! |
| 3 years 38 weeks ago | Cool |
"If peeing your pants is cool, consider me Miles Davis." |
| 3 years 38 weeks ago | Too late |
Much too late. I'm one step away from having to wear Depends this week. |
| 3 years 38 weeks ago | Rally |
We need a Wisky level comeback. |
| 3 years 38 weeks ago | Sobering news |
It's easy to get caught up in the Tate/Denard show. Although I think one of them beats out Sheridan sooner than later, I'm curious to see how playing time is divided in the first couple of games. |
| 3 years 38 weeks ago | To be fair, |
it's hard to see the flailing arms from the top of the stadium. [obvious sarcasm implied] |
| 3 years 38 weeks ago | No, not my first time. |
I'm not trying to get into an argument with you. I'm just pointing out that by putting "death" after his name, you're doing yourself an injustice. BTW, I'm not negging you, FWIW. |
| 3 years 38 weeks ago | Oh, the horror!!! |
You made me wet myself. That kid still gives me the creeps every December. Well played. |
| 3 years 38 weeks ago | Classy? |
I agree with not booing Sheridan, but you put "death" in parentheses after his name. Did you add that as sarcasm? Otherwise, you're kind of being classless yourself in doing so. |
| 3 years 38 weeks ago | Dormant Fandom |
I lived in Spring Lake when I was young (elementary school) before moving to Indiana where I continued through junior high and high school. |
| 3 years 38 weeks ago | 7-5 |
I know that our depth on D is thin and we're starting a freshman QB, but anything less than 7 wins would be a disappointment in my eyes. On the other hand, 6 wins, with 2 (or 3!) of those against rivals, would be just fine with me. |
| 3 years 38 weeks ago | California |
No, I don't live in the state where beer flows like water (Oregon), but close enough. I live in southern California, and there's no shortage of awesome beer in these parts. |
