the just released schedules were a flat-out statement that the B10 doesn't believe SOS will matter in playoff selection

The one comment I saw that could be construed as sexual harassment was "Melanie, have you ever been finger-banged?". I'll probably take shit for this, but I thought that was pretty funny to be honest. I don't know. I think you are just overreacting. Edit: Just to clarify, I didn't see the homophobic stuff. That's definitely crossing the line. |
| 5 weeks 3 days ago | That article |
That article was an atrocity. She deserves at least some of the shit she is getting. That's the beauty of freedom of speech. She can write what she wants, but she can also get torn to shreds on social media when what she writes is garbage. |

I appreciate the post, but I think everyone on this blog understands Kansas Basketball Fan Syndrome because it is essentially equivalent to Michigan Football Fan Syndrome. We both have ridiculous expectations that cannot possibly be met on a regular basis. But regardless, I still insist on living in a constant state of discontent. |

| 34 weeks 1 day ago | Great line play. |
Great defense. Moved the ball well outside the red zone. I don't have much to complain about except for Denard's bone-headed interceptions. |
| 37 weeks 46 min ago | Admissions standards |
for NCAA athletes may be the same across the board, but academic difficulty certainly isn't. Any given class at Michigan is much more difficult to pass than an equivalent class at Alabama. Student athletes are well aware of this. |
| 37 weeks 11 hours ago | This |
doom and gloom is disappointing. "SEC dominance" is a ten year old concept. Before 2000, the SEC was mortal, average even. Michigan is recruiting as well as ever and is certainly competing with the SEC in that regard. Just give it a few years. |

we are recruiting like Alabama and USC. It's been happening since Hoke got here. |
| 37 weeks 15 hours ago | What I saw |

Every school that has ever been sanctioned by the NCAA can claim that innocent players were collateral damage. Every Michigan basketball player from the middle of last decade was punished for the actions of players who played five or more years before them. PSU may not deserve the death penalty, but this is certainly not the reason why. |

Uniforms and silly promotions aside, Brandon is doing a fantastic job as AD. In this results based business, Brandon is doing just about as well as one could possibly do. |

Everyone is overanalyzing this. The OP's point is that we should play the tournament before crowning a champion because that is the current format of NCAA basketball. Would it be more reliable to pick the best team by using advanced metrics accumulated over a long regular season? Probably, but it wouldn't be nearly as much fun. |

| 1 year 26 weeks ago | For defense |
especially, I would be interested in seeing average time of possesion. At least in basketball, the mark of a good defense is running down the shot clock low and often. So I think average time of possession (minus those with offensive rebounds) would be a good benchmark. |

a Michigan sports blog. We're not going to not talk about the game we just lost. That would be ridiculous. |
| 1 year 30 weeks ago | How about: |
A good passing attack opens up the run, and we don't have a particularily good passing attack with Denard in. People keep saying that we should give Denard a chance to improve as a passer, but he's had two years to do that. Let's give Devin some time to get into a rythm and see how he does. |
| 1 year 30 weeks ago | He just wants |
what he thinks is best for the team. No player is bigger than the team, no player is more important than the team. Not even Denard. |

| 1 year 35 weeks ago | We have the best stadium |
in the country. Why would we want to play somewhere else? |
| 1 year 35 weeks ago | Thank you |
for posting this. It saved me a lot writing. But I will add something: There are many more people paying their way through college in this country than playing college athletics. Most of these students do not have access to the fantastic resources that student athletes do and will graduate with tens of thousands of dollars of debt. Student athletes walk away debt free with degrees that they may not otherwise have been able to afford, and the only price they pay is playing a game they love, often on a national stage, for four years of their lives. Pretty good fucking deal if you ask me. |
| 1 year 35 weeks ago | I don't |
I don't necessarily think the I-form is generally easier to defend. Yes, it does condense space, but that can be just as much of a disadvantage for the defense as it is for the offense. It's more difficult to get to a ball carrier when multiple teamates are surrounding him and blocking for him. On the other hand, spread formations give more direct access to the ball carrier, but oftentimes a lone defender is responsible for making the stop. It's really just a speed vs. size thing. |
| 1 year 35 weeks ago | Honestly, |
I'm not sure that an ND fan is the best judge of how loud a stadium can be. My buddies and I went to Notre Dame game last year, and the crowd was really tame. That being said, I do believe the stadium was the loudest it has ever been on Saturday. |
| 1 year 35 weeks ago | I know |
nothing about taking care of kids, and I'm usually against indoctrination, but for Michigan football I would make an exception. Do it. |
| 1 year 35 weeks ago | Just thinking about |
the atmosphere at the game still gives me chills. I've been going to Michigan games since I was 5, and I have never seen the crowd that fired up. When we finally won, the student section was essentially a giant mosh pit. I was hugging random strangers and...I can't even describe how awesome it was. |

| 1 year 40 weeks ago | I love this "play with |
I love this "play with fanatacism" thing. Obviously all coaches tell their players to play as hard as they possibly can, but fanatacism takes it to a different level. It's like saying, "pretend the guy with the ball just hurt your family. Do what you have to do." I like it. |
| 1 year 40 weeks ago | "Lou Holtz spit on me" | |

| 1 year 42 weeks ago | Now you're putting |
words in my mouth. I never said anything about unsubstantiated rumors improving the quality of the board. You should also learn to be more concise. I was ready to admit I was wrong after your first few paragraphs. I didn't need to hear a story about your sick grandmother's sexual fetish. I do hope she is doing well though. |
| 1 year 42 weeks ago | Maybe I'm |
imagining things, but I thought there were numerous discussions on this board about the reasons that Mallet and Tate and Boren left the team. I'm pretty sure most of that was heresay too. |
| 1 year 42 weeks ago | This is stupid |
and will never happen. |
| 1 year 42 weeks ago | If this |

| 1 year 42 weeks ago | If the NCAA |

than waking up to a cryptic TomVH post. Thank you Tom. Also, I think this is worthy of its own thread. Anyone? |
| 1 year 42 weeks ago | The people who gave RR |
hell early on were right though. He ended his tenure here as the worst coach in Michigan football history. He was the man at the helm for three years of Michigan football that were absolutely painful to watch. People are pissed off, and until we start winning again, it will stay that way. Hoke will have to deal with the same shit if he starts to lose, and rightly so. This is Michigan, the winningest college football program of all time. If you come here to coach, you either win or you leave. The ones who end up leaving will probably not be treated so well along the way. Unfortunate, but true. |
| 1 year 42 weeks ago | Is that |

| 1 year 42 weeks ago | Well to be |
acurate, it's a "commitable offer" that I think they care about. |
| 1 year 42 weeks ago | Wow... |
major brainfart. I thought I read that somewhere else in this thread, but now I realize how ridiculous that sounds. My bad... |
| 1 year 42 weeks ago | Dude... |
Hoke is having this success after the worst three year strech in Michigan football history. RR came in after three straight years of finishing top 10 in the coach's poll. You can't even begin tp compare the two things. |
| 1 year 42 weeks ago | And |
the advantage of using the batteries is that you potentially recharge them with the alternator in your car. You'd have to know what you're doing though. |
| 1 year 42 weeks ago | Yes. |
Some big ass batteries and an inverter should be all you'll need. Or, as others have said, a generator. |
| 1 year 42 weeks ago | That was |
a travesty. |
| 1 year 43 weeks ago | Has anyone |
ever tried to win on the final stage? Like if the second place guy was less than a minute back or something? |
| 1 year 43 weeks ago | The worst part |
about this blog is posters like you. Did you really think it was necessary to write a whole post berating a person's preference in music? Real mature. The OP simply said he was tired of the normal music selections and offered up an alternative. Completely reasonable. Please, do us a favor and get over yourself. |
| 1 year 43 weeks ago | Dude... |
That gave me chills. I loved the parallelism between the speech and video. "Every adventurous reach into space" just as Woodson makes the most incredible interception ever. Was that intentional? If so, props. |

| 1 year 43 weeks ago | That game |
pissed me off to no end... |
| 1 year 43 weeks ago | He absolutely |
deserved every minute of coverage he got. He was the most dominating athlete in any sport for 12 years. It could be argued that he was the most dominating athlete in any sport ever. Even after he "fell off the wagon" in 2008, he was still regularly finishing top 5 in majors. |
| 1 year 43 weeks ago | That. Is. Awesome. |
Hopefully the cop is okay. |
| 1 year 43 weeks ago | True |
All of this is true, but the instantaneous strain on the grid could be worse if you wait until your house heats up to 95 degrees. |
| 1 year 43 weeks ago | Not necessarily. |
The air conditioner will draw much more current once the house heats up in the afternoon. But then again, the power factor will be better too, so who knows. |
| 1 year 43 weeks ago | Awesome idea | |
| 1 year 43 weeks ago | Mike Hart |
I think Hart deserves a nod. He's Michigan's all-time leading rusher, was a Heisman and Doak Walker finalist, and coined the nickname "Little Brother". |
| 1 year 43 weeks ago | Payton and Notre Dame Game |
I'm glad to see that Payton is visiting for the Notre Dame game. That whole weekend should be a huge recruiting tool for Hoke & Co. If seeing Michigan play Notre Dame under the lights in front of 113,000 people doesn't convince a recruit to come here, then nothing will. |
| 1 year 44 weeks ago | I see what |
you did there. The difference is, this is Michigan. That was Ball State. |
| 1 year 44 weeks ago | This. | |
| 1 year 44 weeks ago | Ehh... |
Extrapolation doesn't seem to work out so well in something as complicated as football. I'm more inclined to ignorantly bask in my misguided hopes until they're proven wrong. |
| 1 year 44 weeks ago | Why is that |
whenever I see "TomVH:" I chub up a little bit? Oh yeah, now I remember. |
| 1 year 44 weeks ago | Just peachy. |
Two of the things I hate most in the world joining forces... |
| 1 year 44 weeks ago | Not OT. |
There's nothing off topic about Amurica. |
| 1 year 44 weeks ago | TomVH Twitter: |
"Ohio OL Kyle Kalis has committed to Michigan. Kalis told me he would've committed a few
weeks ago, but his coach wanted him to wait."
For those of you who wanted TomVH confirmation before getting your hopes up...

| 1 year 44 weeks ago | I have a terrible feeling |
that MGoBlog is going to crash, and it couldn't make me happier. |
| 1 year 44 weeks ago | Scary good. |
I never thought I would be able to say this, but we actually have a realistic chance for a top 5 class. At this point, I would even say it's probable. Keep it up, Hoke. |
| 1 year 45 weeks ago | Yeah, that's basically |
Yeah, that's basically what I was trying to say. The logic behind their formula is probably at least decent, but how can we know for sure unless it's scrubbed over by many impartial people? We can't really. |
| 1 year 45 weeks ago | I don't know |
I don't know who this Fremeau guy is, but how can the statistic he fabricated be trusted if he hasn't even published the formula for it? For all we know, he could be pulling numbers out of his ass. I'm suprised that so many people take FEI as gospel when they don't even know how it's calculated. |
