I say screw it, do a column called "Re-Draftageddon 2016" where everyone picks new teams and then post the Slack thread here.
Just for the comments. The glorious comments.
|2 days 21 hours ago||Colorado||
Not super realistic but I would absolutely love traveling to Boulder every few years for a road game.
|3 days 13 hours ago||Agree||
Agree. My recollection is that the new contract was put together hastily to keep the Big 12 intact when a group of them were planning to head to the PAC-10.
|3 days 16 hours ago||Not really that simple||
It's a little more complicated than that. OU and Texas were the ones leading the expansion until recently reversing course.
Texas was in support of Houston because they were going to get a very valuable piece land in the city of Houston for building a medical center. Most of the schools against Houston are the smaller schools, read: the non-powerhouse schools that don't want Houston taking recruits from them. On top of that, the TV networks were pretty pissed the Big Twelve would stick it to them by adding teams that aren't worth it just to trigger a contract clause. Sounds like the TV networks decided they're willing to pay them more to stay at 10 as it's cheaper than paying them more with 12 or 14.
Additionally, it sounds like Texas and OU have come around to the fact that the only thing that matters long-term for them is 2024, when their grant of rights agreement ends. At that point, they're going to figure out if they want to be in the Pac-16, SEC, or Big Ten.

Central Florida won the Fiesta Bowl at the conclusion of the 2013 season(with George O'Leary as coach!).
|1 week 19 hours ago||Logged in||
Logged in to add James Hetfield. I'm not sure he's top 5 in a Rolling Stone list but he's one of my top 5.
Also like Robert Plant, Brian Johnson, David Lee Roth, among others that have already been named.
I also like Chris Cornell from Soundgarden/Audioslave. Probably not top 5 but I think he's solid. Also a little embarrassed to admit I also enjoyed Layne Staley a lot as a teenager.

Godin wears a much bigger neckroll. That's been my visual clue to determining who is who out of him and Glasgow.

|2 weeks 3 days ago||Ausmus||
Ausmus should've been canned 2 years ago. I haven't been able to watch them since we blew the game after he pulled [I don't remember which starter is was because it's happened too many times but I'm fairly certain it was a playoff game] even though the pitch count wasn't that high and then whaddayaknow, BP blew the game.
Haven't watched the Tigers since that game and won't watch again until Ausmus is gone.

|3 weeks 2 days ago||My biggest hope||
My biggest hope for Alabama to lose is just laying an egg in the SEC title game against what will probably be a Tennessee team that will have (likely) already have been throttled my Alabama in the regular season.
There will be a lot of pissed off people in the conference that gets left out if they're left out while a non-conference champion gets in the playoffs.

|5 weeks 1 day ago||Terrible idea||
I don't like this idea at all. I don't have an issue with PSU fans continuing to lionize Joe Pa. It serves as a reminder to me to keep all things Michigan football in the appropriate perspective.
|5 weeks 5 days ago||Not happy with run game||
I'm not happy with the run game either but it was clear what UCF's game plan as on defense.
|6 weeks 15 hours ago||I don't agree||
I don't agree. Call me cynical, but I think Izzo definitely cheats, he's just not as good at it with the Chicago guys he's been going after versus coach K and Calipari.
I 100% believe everyone cheats in major college basketball recruiting, just different levels of how far a coaching staff is willing to go.
|6 weeks 15 hours ago||Maybe the coaching staff||
Maybe the coaching staff didn't initially believe there was interest in Bamba's end.
The same thing happened with the football staff not offering Dylan Moses and, lo and behold, turns out there wasn't any real interest, just a guy collecting scholarships.
This post is dumb.

That's fair. I do agree that it's an interesting part of the contract and I was unaware they were actively using this type of data.
Make sense once I think about it - if there's any sort of data, someone is trying to use it.
|7 weeks 1 day ago||Jesus Christ||
There is some dumb ass stuff on the board today. By noon, we've had a terrible disrespekt thread that doesn't even do it right, some 'is it even legal?' frippery, and now how to defend a haircut.
I'd rather see another Draftageddon summary thread than the direction today's board posts are going. DE preview here just in time for the rescue.
|7 weeks 1 day ago||This is your writing||
This is your writing at the top of the page:
"Maybe the MGoLawyers will read this differently, but is that legal without the consent of the athletes even though they are aggregated and anonymous? That's still a ton of data."
Usually when someone asks an opinion with a slanted question like that and then argues with what people who have experience in the relevant area tell them, they don't actually want to know the answer. That's what I mean by you have an angle.
Either that or you are Bill Wilson. Congrats on your success, Bill!
|7 weeks 1 day ago||You're more than a messenger||
You're more than a messenger as it seems like you are pushing a particular angle. That "quote" if from the body of the blog post, not a quote from some purported expert.
And yes, I didn't read the entire Brewonsouthu wordpress post. Because it was a wordpress post you said you found on twitter. Instead of using my own experiences and my brain, I should've known its proprietor, one William Wilson, was an expert on contract, privacy, and data law.
I should've known that a blog with a header byline that says "OSU's Startling Suspension of JT Barrett's Scholarship is Evidence of Employee Status" and an incoherent About page should be taken very seriously and everything written therein as fact.
|7 weeks 1 day ago||What does that have to do with anything?||
Neither student athletes nor employees automatically own records of performance and as long as sharing that data doesn't violate any privacy laws, such as HIPAA, FERPA, etc., there likely isn't any issue with aggregated and deidentfied data.
And, you know, like WolvinLA said, they probably hired a couple law school interns or something to go over the contract before signing it.
|7 weeks 1 day ago||Deidentified data||
In the pharmaceutical world, aggregated and deidentified patient data can be used or disseminated without patient consent, payment, etc.
I imagine this (non) issue is relatively the same.

Love this post. And I'll be in town for the cheapest game. Sweet.
|7 weeks 3 days ago||This is a base formation||
My guess is for heavy teams like Wisconsin, he may move to more of a Sam role to take on the run/blockers and Peppers will play more of a safety role. For most (i.e., spread) opponents, speed is at more of a premium on defense so Peppers can play that role.

|15 weeks 18 hours ago||Seven games a year||
Seven games a year is bullshit. We had the first Arkansas game at home. Set the budget planning to put aside money for the next year. Problem solved.
"Seven home games a year" is the same dumb accounting arguments that ADs use to say that only 10 programs are in the black in any given year.
My frustration is not directed at you. I'm just annoyed by all this. Pissed it was cancelled and I got over it. Now we're doing the same dumb stuff again and I'm pissed off again. Add to that some of Manual's other AD decisions.
|15 weeks 18 hours ago||Because Manual is AD||
Because Manual is AD - he is still the boss. It's his job to think like an AD. He is allowed to tell Jim "We can't do ND that year." if what you're describing indeed happened.
Jim Harbaugh is head coach. He thinks like a head coach. Harbaugh might want to play Notre Dame and two other blue bloods every year because he's that type of person. He just came from the NFL where it's a grind every week. That doesn't mean it's a good idea.
That also doesn't mean Manual just goes "A-OK coach. I'll get right on that." It's his job to use his brain. Shit, why doesn't Harbaugh just run everything football related if Manual is just going to say yes to everything Harbaugh wants?
|15 weeks 18 hours ago||If given the choice||
If given the choice, I'd rather not play Notre Dame than have this shit.
I'm not sure which part I'm more pissed about - the fact that the 2018 schedule looks terrible (as of now) and we start the season at ND or that we're playing them in the middle of the Big Ten schedule in 2019.
PLAY CUPCAKES IN THE FIRST GAME AND MIDDLE OF THE CONFERENCE SEASON. Don't schedule ND at the beginning of the season or right in between a couple of divisional matchups.
Unless MSU is switched in 2018, this is a colossal fuck up on our AD's part. I still won't very happy about it. And if we lose Texas, Washington, Oklahoma and UCLA because we're playing ND, I don't know what I'll do (honestly, I'll probably do nothing and just be pissed because what am I really going to do anyway?).
|15 weeks 19 hours ago||Pussies that pay||
Pussies that pay way too much fucking money for season tickets to have an SEC home game cancelled so thatwe can have our three biggest rivals away every other season.
Yeah, total pussies, you goddamned college football philistine.
|15 weeks 19 hours ago||That's shitty AND tough||
That's shitty AND tough.
We get 3 of the 4 best West teams (at least we get Wisconsin and PSU on the home schedule, I guess?) and then away at our 3 toughest opponents. Sweet.
(caveats about it being 3 years away apply)
|15 weeks 20 hours ago||Well that's embarrassing...||
Now that I've seen the details, I definitely don't like this. Pay $2 million to switch from a home game to an away game (and 2 in a row at Notre Dame, on top of it)?
|15 weeks 22 hours ago||Booo||
Booo. I can't get behind this until I hear more details.
If we drop the Texas, Washington, UCLA, and Oklahoma home-and-homes because of it, this is definitely going to be a bummer move.
|15 weeks 6 days ago||"Recruiting Rankings Matter"||
First off, I agree. Second, I think "recruiting rankings matter" applies differently to individuals vs. teams.
I don't have the time for this right now but maybe someone else does or maybe I'll do it later in the summer. Anyway, I imagine there is a more direct correlation between recruiting rankings and rankings of individual performance at the next level(s) (i.e., PFF rankings or NFL draft), whereas overall correlation of team performance (i.e., record and advanced O/D stats) is much more directly tied to a combination of recruiting ranking and 'fit' or team need.
Examples of the latter being Rich Rods tiny guys at WVU, Baylor and Oregon's track teams, Wisconsin's olinemen, Harbaugh's blocky-catchy types, etc.
When people say "recruiting rankings do/don't matter", I think the entire argument is too simplistic. The main takeways being recruiting rankings matter differently to different programs and talent is talent.

|18 weeks 17 hours ago||I can't tell||
I can't tell if it's because we've been so underwhelming the last two years that I've lost enthusiams or it's because Harbaugh/football is so positive that I don't have any enthusiasms left to give, but I just can't seem to get excited for basketball.
I generally love the recruiting updates of any kind but I'm just so meh about basketball right now. Right now I feel meh unknown to mankind.
|18 weeks 2 days ago||Yes, it's their fault||
Yes, it's their fault. Rivals sucks and has sucked for multiple years.
One time - fine. But Rivals exhibits a consistent behavior of click-bait articles that aren't rooted in reality. So yes, recruiting analysts running recruiting websites should be able to tell their readership whether a quote is worth believing or not.
To make the entire twitter post lead readers to believe he would visit while knowing there is no chance is definitely Rivals fault.
|18 weeks 3 days ago||Wow did not expect this...||
Wow, did not expect this. Not a single soccer complaint from that portion of the MGoBlog fanbase that is nothing if not persistent.
Either you've beat them into submission with more soccer posts this year or they've got a case of the Mondays.
Frankly, I'm disappointed in the response and hopeful this doesn't signal a trend. One of my favorite parts of your soccer posts were the incredulous comments complaining they were reading futbol not football.

|21 weeks 2 days ago||Glasgow or Cole||
I've got Glasgow or Cole as my most irreplaceable players. Glasgow maybe moving down a little with Mone back in the lineup but both of those guys are who I think control the destiny of the O and D lines.
We saw what Indiana and OSU did after Glasgow went down. And I think our offense will stagnate if we can't get production out of our center.
|21 weeks 5 days ago||Agreed||
Agreed. Bigger conference, let's play more games.
I know many here don't like having Rutgers in the Big Ten, but somebody has to lose no matter who is added to the conference. If they are consistent losers and give us tons of money (and I live on the East coast so I'm OK with it), so be it.
Let's play 9. Any conference that doesn't play as many conference games as other similar conferences has no basis to complain about expansion.

|22 weeks 2 days ago||I also liked Harbaugh's Huddle||
Harbaugh's Huddle and his Jake Ruddddock pump up GIFs are also some of my other favorites.
My post was intended to be tongue-in-cheek so I think we're on the same page about one GIF having more 'merit' than another GIF. It's an offseason bracket of GIFs, so beauty is definitely in the eye of the beholder.
If I were to attempt to argue the betterness of Grinch Gif over Spring Game using a more technical or objective scale, I would say the Spring Game GIF is boring. Like, it could be a picture boring. The Grinch GIF cannot be shown with a picture and therefore is inherently better as a GIF because it offers more from a moving picture perspective. I also like that it shows the exact opposite of Media Jim Harbaugh - that he can work amicably with and give credit to his coaching staff.*
But, like I said...we're arguing about the merits of GIFs so I'm not super serial/cereal.
*I will also admit I am sentimental to that GIF because I LOVED the setup and play call that preceeded it.

|22 weeks 2 days ago||I can't believe it...||
I can't believe it but I'm actually a tiny bit upset about this.
Harbaugh at spring practice is going to win and it's lame. Real lame. The reason Spring Practices GIF is going to win is because of the sentimentality of that moment rather than the merit of the GIF.
If Good Shit Jedd GIF and Grinch GIF played for Jim Harbaugh, they would be in the finals because Harbaugh's teams are meritocracies.
|22 weeks 2 days ago||Ugh||

|27 weeks 1 day ago||I don't get the limits part||
I don't get the limits part. It just seems like an unnecessary compromise when compromise isn't needed. The facts as I see them:
Why set a limit? I haven't heard a legitimate argument on the negative effects of hosting many camps. If coaches don't want to work a camp, fine. If Harbaugh wants to work 30, fine.
The best analogy I've heard is that satellite camps are like companies setting up booths at career fairs and not allowing certain companies because they aren't local. Are there rules amongst AAU schools that limit how many schools a company can recruit onsite?
What am I missing?

When some douchebag ESPN or local jokester 'breaks' a commitment by ruining a kid's announcement, don't give them credit for it. Use another reporter that waits until the kid has had his chance to make the announcement.
This one is debatable - might have been the coach that told the reporter he could report it - but I think it's something that would be nice to consider moving forward. Just a suggestion that I think is fair for the kids committing.
|29 weeks 4 days ago||Random fact||
I lived in the yellow house on the left my senior year. Long live 925 State.
|30 weeks 3 days ago||I would love that||
I would love that. I agree that a six-team league is too much but on the other hand, I do enjoy having home and homes each year with every member. One of the (admittedly few) benefits of a small league.
|30 weeks 3 days ago||Not a fan||
Not a fan. Why overthink it? Play it at the higher seed's rink.
Play on home ice. Fans are already there! It awards the higher seeded team in a sport filled with randomness everywhere!
One top of that, for an away game I'd rather travel to one of the great Big Ten campus towns than Minneapolis EVERY year. I'll never travel to MSP for a Big Ten hockey championship. I would travel to Ann Arbor for a first round or another school for the championship series.
So simple. Exclamation point.
|30 weeks 3 days ago||Disagree||
Disagree. It isn't ruined; the postseason has always been a cluster. It just happened that there was a Minnesota conference (WCHA) and a Michigan conference (CCHA) where most everyone could make it to the tournament in less than 5-6 hours.
MSU and Wisconsin are "ruining" Big Ten hockey by not attempting to field competitive programs. Anastos is terrible and Mike Eaves has been as bad or worse for as long as Anastos and finally got fired this weekend; he only lasted because he had previous success there before things fell off the cliff.
I enjoy playing the Big Ten hockey schools. I enjoy watching them on BTN while living in Washington DC instead of having to stream FSD. It's not the Big Ten's fault that Wisconsin and MSU are as terrible as they've ever been. This should be a 3-5 bid league every year. Should...
As for consideration of the old WCHA and CCHA schools...tough shit, and that's coming from someone who used to work at the CCHA. I love playing Ferris and Lake State and Northern and ND but change happens. Those smaller programs leftover didn't die off and nobody was starting up new D1 hockey programs before the reorganization. Now we have some serious activity there on multiple fronts.
While I agree the attendance at the conference tournaments needs to be fixed, it wasn't Big Ten that ruined them. It's just dumb to have a neutral site tournament with this large of a geographic spread for college hockey.

He did say "My guess is"...
|37 weeks 1 day ago||Overall, very Harbaugh||
Overall, very Harbaugh. Fun and exciting and weird and sometimes awkward.
I liked almost everything about it, unfortunately the part I disliked most was having a Sklar as the emcee. Do not find him very funny at all...mostly cringeworthy.
|38 weeks 15 hours ago||Damn||
Damn, beat me to it.
I'd also add James Earl Jones, the Grocery Bagger that Harbaugh watched do her job perfectly for an hour, the captain of the Peruvian national Peruball team, Kevin Van Dam, and Big from Rob and Big.
That group seems to be about as random as we've seen with the announced guests.
|38 weeks 1 day ago||More roster management...||
More roster management. Heard he was pushed out.
|38 weeks 2 days ago||Yes, agreed.||
Yes, agreed. I guess we disagree on the level of which that may have occurred. When people really want something, they often delude themselves no matter what someone tells them. I am not taking a stand yet but I also think the stance most here are taking is too early, as well.
None of the kids' high school coaches have come out with outrageous claims, which at least makes me question the half of the story we're getting from the recruit right now. That's my a big point - everyone assumes we have facts when we do not.
|38 weeks 2 days ago||I don't get it, Brian||
I don't get it, Brian. According to Steve Lorenz someone picked up the damn phone on October 5 when he wanted to go to Temple.
Even if he wasn't explicitly told he might not have a spot, anyone that can't read into that plus no contact is intentionally being dense. I would hope to talk to the place I'm going to be spending 4-5 years at least once in 3 months prior to signing the dotted line.
|38 weeks 2 days ago||Yes pick up the phone||
Yes, picking up the phone would save the FANBASE some heartache, but c'mon, this is getting pretty goddamn ridiculous.
We believe one side on Swenson yet the Matt Falcon thing played out pretty much like you're asking and everyone is all on Harbaugh's ass?
I'm not necessarily picking a side but I do think it's absurd most of you are even with only half the opinion and almost none of the facts.
|38 weeks 2 days ago||Disapppinted in you, man||
I'm disappointed in you, man. You follow recruiting too closely to either make naive assumptions or leave other major factors out.
I don't believe that these recruits with which we have parted ways were not given any sort of pre- and/or post-commitment idea of where things stand. Whether that was academic plans/goals (Enis, SPS, another?), intentions to keep recruiting the position over them (Weaver), or requesting an evaluation from a previous coach's commit (Swenson), each commit has more going on than what is being portrayed on twitter. Which leads to my major issue with your argument:
Your thesis "Harbaugh is burning bridges or ruining relationships that will hurt future recruiting so he needs to change something" has not been proven.
Glossing over these facts isn't fair to the reader or Harbaugh since you are considered one of the more prominent posters on recruiting.
I think it's ignorant to limit choices to those options. Option 3 for me is don't change a damn thing. Next year Harbaugh:
I don't agree with the premise that bridges have been burned or relationships ruined. Additionally, recruits have short memories - Harbaugh is not approaching the levels of things that happen in the SEC West and they still do OK there.
Will it be negatively recruited against? Sure.
Will Harbaugh's general personality and behavior be negatively recruited against regardless? Of course.
Is it a chink in an otherwise excellent Harbaugh armor? Yes.
Is the chink in the armor worth it if offering and accepting a guy like Antwain Richardson pans out into a good to excellent Big Ten starter? I say yes.
To say that Harbaugh needs to act more like "everybody in America" is insane and uninformed when, in fact, he is. I'll leave that ridiculous statement with this article by SBNation national/FSU writer Bud Elliott. He recently wrote something along the lines of "what is happening at Michigan, most teams call recruiting".
The only question you need to ask yourself to figure out what you think Harbaugh should do is this: do you want to compete at the highest level on the football field?
|38 weeks 2 days ago||Seems like both your points||
Seems like both your points revolve around future effects on recruiting. Time will tell if it backfires in the future, but Harbaugh has the 3rd ranked recruiting class in the country that should finish in the top-5 and may sign the number 1 prospect in the country in his first full year.
Beilein has come even within the ballpark once since he's been here.
People seem to want it both ways but are guaranteed to complain if the other slightly suffers. Hoke was controversy-free in recruiting but got worse each year.
|38 weeks 2 days ago||I think it's comical||
I think it's comical that there's so much handwringing about telling recruits to find another place to play before signing day because they hadn't done as expected.

Up voted for using maybe my favorite movie quote as a child. It's between that and a litany of Ace Ventura quotes.
|39 weeks 1 day ago||Eh||
Eh, I feel bad for Swenson but he hadn't officially visited yet and that has been a clear tie between the players that we've had decommit. I find it hard to believe he didn't have an idea this was coming further out.
I'm mostly happy we have people with some stones running the program nowadays. I want to fucking win.
|39 weeks 1 day ago||Disturbing||
Might be the most disturbing GIF I've ever seen. Lots of weird in this one.
|39 weeks 2 days ago||Honestly||
Honestly, I want to do everything within the rules to win at this point in my Michigan fandom. The past 10 years have changed how I look at Michigan football. If we want to be competitive in big time football, we're going to have to do things differently than we've done recently.
I'm not going to turn my nose up at letting recruits find another place to play before signing day when it turns out they aren't what the coaches expected
Academic scholarships can be pulled for bad grades during a senior year, I don't see how this is much different - except that for some reason people tend to see school grades as "objective" and athletic performance evaluations as "subjective" when they're both the same thing.
If true, I put this one firmly in the "good luck, sorry it didn't work out here" category.
|40 weeks 18 hours ago||Great update||

Ken Griffey Jr. is my all-time favorite non-Tigers player. I love the old-school Babe Ruth swing but I doubt there will ever be a more beautiful swing than Ken Griffey Junior.
In my mind, his swing is up there with the Jordan logo and Desmond's Heisman pose. Iconic.
Plus, what a great guy. Too bad he got injured. And GO TO HELL to the 3 stupid baseball writers association voters that didn't vote for him. You guys are a fucking joke.

But I've been down this path pretty much every draftageddon and hey, I don't pay for the site so I can either read it or not read it. Brian and the guys can do it however they want... ...I'm just hoping one year they will decide they don't like it and write up a better preview.
Like I said below, I'm only here to laugh at the comments. MGrow's is probably my favorite at the moment.
|50 weeks 2 days ago||I would probably||
I would probably still hate it.
My dislike has nothing to do with tracking it and everything to do with the fact that nobody wants to hear about a fantasy league in which they are not participating.

I came here to complain about hoopsageddon and see others complain about hoopsageddon. Hoopsaggedon is probably worse than draftageddon.

|1 year 1 week ago||RE: Saban||
Do not misconstrue what I'm about to say as calling Saban a bad coach...
I've always thought Saban's success has been predominantly dependent upon talent and that his 'coaching' is completely overrated. That doesn't mean I think he's bad; look no further than last year to see that talent alone doesn't lead to wins.
But looking at his career:
Nick Saban is clearly a great recruiter and identifier of talent, but I've never thought of him as an outstanding X and Os coach and I think that is what is actually showing up against these spread teams. Unless he has a clear talent advantage, he has trouble. Repeatedly seeing this demonstrates he's not a 'great' schematic coach.
I'd like to think that Harbaugh and Durkin (and whoever our next defensive coordinator is after Durkin inevitably leaves) have shown an ability to scheme to their players' strengths, rather than rely entirely on a talent advantage. We'll see.
|1 year 2 weeks ago||Brain = Brian||
Brain = Brian, but my post could also be read as me talking to my own brain.
As for the rankings, it's Happy Brian > Sad/Melancholy/Resigned Brian on a linear ranking, then Angry Brian is somewhere off on a second axis and can vary where exactly he ranks on the first.
|1 year 2 weeks ago||Also||
Also, Turnover Fiesta sounds like it could be a Brazzers-affiliated website.
|1 year 2 weeks ago||GREAT Essay||
GREAT essay. One of my favorites in a while, although this season you seem to be writing with more consistency.
I guess what I'm trying to say is Happy Brain is better than Sad/Melancholy/Resigned Brain (Angry Brain is very funny and enjoyable, although in a slightly dark way).

|1 year 3 weeks ago||2nd half||
I'm not worried about the second half because it just seemed like we were practicing out run game. Defense was killer.
I also said it in the game thread but I think Moe Ways had a couple really nice blocks that helped spring big plays in the first half.
|1 year 3 weeks ago||Chesson and Ways||
I know Chesson gets a lot of credit and rightfully so, but I think Moe Ways is going to grade out very well in UFR blocking. He blocked the safety on Smith's big fun and had a few other big plays for the run game.

|1 year 4 weeks ago||Undergrad vs. overall university||
I believe 29th is undergrad and focuses more heavily on things like class size, acceptance rates, graduation rate, standardized test scores averages, etc., whereas the 14th focuses on overall university, which includes undergrad, graduate and professional program rankings, research produced and faculty awards, inter-faculty prestige, and spending, although I don't know which exact ranking you're referencing.

|1 year 4 weeks ago||On The Banks||
The On The Banks comment section was pure gold, Jerry.
While most understand Chip Kelly to Rutgers was pretty tongue in cheek, several of the commenters didn't like him because "he doesn't fit Rutger's style of football". HA. No words for that.
I also enjoyed the conversation about how the Rutgers coaching candidates look like the hodgepodge of Republican presidential candidates, and they want Trump for AD so they can get "MAKE RUTGERS GREAT AGAIN" hats. I would buy 5.

|1 year 6 weeks ago||Agreed||
Agreed. I usually like Spencer but that was my take. It was all emotion about being poor and how much revenue college football brings into colleges.
Yeah, being poor sucks. And people like watching college football. Combining those two isn't a strong argument for why someone should be paid.

Awesome solution Spencer spelled out very clearly in that long ass piece.

|1 year 11 weeks ago||I agree and disagree||
I agree and disagree.
Some concepts and ideas have the opportunity for more but, in my opinion, there isn't much worse comedic writing than satire that goes beyond the good stuff and then the joke starts to fall flat. I notice that a lot on Clickhole articles; I find I feel like they're trying too hard to be funny, which isn't funny.
In other words, I would rather take short and funny over screwing up a good concept because it went too long. Maybe that's why I'm a HUGE fan of American Voices in The Onion.
