If you take off your U-M goggles for a minute, there is no denying that Hoke oversigned. The fact that we did eventually get down to 85, and had multiple options available to get there does not change anything. We had to eliminate 1 scholarship player, be it a 5th year senior, a punter who has been in trouble, a transfer, or a medical hardship. I honestly have no problem with it as long as it's only 1 spot. If it was 3 or 4 spots I would be upset but I can't think of an offseason in recent memory where we didnt lose at least 1 kid. Brian has always said that Alabama being over the limit is what caused transfers and medical hardships. It's hypocritical to say that our situation is different, and that our attrition would have happened anyway. it is what it is, at least our kids aren't admitting they took money on twitter or posting pics with stacks of cash.

People way overdo the adidas thing. The clothing is not that bad. Adidas makes better hoodies and sweatpants then Nike. And im pretty sure Addas put in the contract a guarantee that U-M would be the highest paid university. The only thing I miss about Nike is real maize. People don't remember this but Nike was ready to leave us in 2000 because of the student protests. In 07' they were trying to lowball Bill Martin. Supposedly we didn't have the cache anymore.

The big thing here is money. 32million more than Nike over 8 years. Think about that and how long our basketball facilities went into decay. The cost for the player devolopment center was 23 million. 53 Million for renovating Chrysler. Cut 32 mil out of our budget, do those things happen? Maybe they do, maybe they don't. But at the very least the Adidas $ has helped.

Most Spartys I know are pissed. I am thrilled. No more of this crap where we are guaranteed osu and they are guaranteed Indiana. Or where osu plays us, wisky, and 6 cupcakes. We traded nebraska and northwetern for psu and a few tomato cans schedule wise.  I see this as a win for us and a small loss for osu and a huge loss for msu.  The schedules will never be perfect but they will be more consistantly even with our rivals than before.

it was a dumb decision to walk away from a full scholarship at Michgan..so he could walk on at OSU? I dont care if he is a huge OSU fan its dumb.  How many here would have gone to OSU if it was on an athletic sholarship instead of paying for UofM? SEC teams wished Alabama would spread it out and throw it because that is not what their talent is designed to do. That is how they lost to A&M by going away from the run. We are not Alabama but our talent on offense is clearly designed for a run first gameplan. That does not mean we will never throw the ball. We are not about to become Wisconsin..but the idea is we want teams to load the box and try to take away the run to get Funchess and Butt running open on play action. he made that have come true? He gives a generalised eval on recruits that never really predict anything. He might say likes 1 recruit over another but he never makes any bold predicitions. And hes wrong on the talent evals every bit as much as he is right. I don't want to hate on the guy.. I value his opinions as much as I value Ace or Brians's. They are all just Michigan fans who might know a ittle more than the average fan..but they sure as hell arent pros.

he played amazingly well, especially considering he was not working at qb for most of the year. But 200 yards passing a game is not going to get him in the heisman race. Unless DG can somehow keep scoring touchdowns at the sick pace he was during that 5 game stretch, he wont have the #'s Make no mistake, I am super excited about his potential and I always argued with people who claimed Bellomy had passed him. He has all of the physical tools to be great and I know he won the classroom award at the elite 11 camps..all that adds up to great potential. All that being said, I look at our schedule and only see 2 maybe 3 games( ND,OSU, maybe Neb or NW) where there will be a need for a strong passing attack.  Other than that I expect the coaches to pound the run.

It never had a chance of happeneing. If the B1G made devisions based solely on competative balance the debate would never end because all schools are up and down competatively. They also said they can't use geographical names for the divisions unless they are actually geographically aligned. There was never any chance for the inner outer idea. I never bothered reading about its merits..I took 1 look at the map and knew it would never happen.

will be better. It was pretty bad overall in 2012.. Kalis and Braden/Bryant will be better than  Barnum and Omameh were last year. It is obvious those two did not fit the scheme because they got worse each year since Hoke arrived. I dont have an answer for who will play center..I would like to think whoever will be better then Mealer, our options are Jack Miller and a true freshman so I don't know. 2 stud tackles return and one of the most important things..talented big backs with some speed behind them...

It's an original thought and Hollis deserves credit for a cool idea but if I was a player it would annoying. There is no way you could fully concentrate if youre bringing the ball up and the crowd is going nuts over a monster dunk on the other court.

He has not built a program while we were up.. in fact its the exact opposite because as Hoke brings the team back up they go back to 6-6. you think 50 percent of households with cable would pay 10$ a month just for espn online?  At least 30-40% of those subscribers are people who dont even care about espn or sports in general. Plus you are not factoring in what espn is paid to not provide the service.

Lastly it is the same cable companies who would be losing subscriptions that are providing everyones internet. If their video service packages were being threatened they could easily put a limit on data usage and screw over people trying to stream everything.  Eventually Internet cable packages will be out there... but not any time soon and it will be the cable providers who offer it.. not individual networks

. He was moved because we needed him desparatly at wr this season.  Roundtree was non-existant last year and Gallon is to small to be a #1. We already know Hoke likes big wr's ..There's no way Hoke could not start Denard at qb anyway, so thats why he figured he could move DG to wr for the year.

It cracks me up how Brian is so quick to pooh on Devin's day and credit everyone but Gardner. Anyone who watches can tell you this Minnesota D is much better than they were last year. Gardner took over the O that had not scored a td in the last 2 games..the entire unit had been playing poorly. Because DG was able to make throws that Denard could never make the safeties backed off and we could run against 6-7 man boxes in the 2nd half.

Of course I'd still ratcher have a healthy senior Denard but DG deserves credt.  Guys has always done everything asked of him. He came out in his first ever srart with very little prep in mid season and owned it. Think about what he just did, last week he was soo unprepared that even after Bellomy's 3rd pick the coaches never considered putting Devin in at qb. He had been at wr too long..one week later and he does this.

say what you want..but right now Bellomy does not posses the arm or legs to run an offense in the B1G. .Devin Gardner does have both...it is that simple. OK you weren't impressed with Gardner last year I get it, but no amount of reps is going to make Bellomy an option at qb this year. Devin can absolutely be a qb and he did play better against MSU on the road last year (which was a tougher environment and defense) than Bellomy did against NU. He also had some clutch passes against Northwestern and a few other games.  I don't know what your beef with Gardner is but youre wrong about his ability. He will be the starting qb next year I guarantee it.

Ryan was offered very late after RR missed on a couple of higher rate lb's..cant remember who they were. I do remmeber the talk that his teammate was going to Ohio but Jake might be the better player.  What kills me is how he didnt make it on the field his freshman year when our D was soooo freaking bad.

Reading all the comments made me go back and doublecheck...but I dont see anything they are all seeiing. The RCMBers were all answering yes or no to whether or not Denard would get hurt.. they aren't saying they hope he does.

Yes he was past the line but it was only 1 yard and most refs arent calling that in that situation.  And that clock issue is moot because the Lions did gett hosed of about 30 seconds when Bradford slid out of bounds and the clock kept running.  I honestly barely notice any difference with these replacement refs. Im sick of looking at the regular old dudes who care more about putting layers of makup on then getting calls right

 Hoke has already proven he is willing to punish guys ..Kellen Jones, Stonum, heck Furman was suspended all spring for something he didnt even do. Name 1 time Dantonio has given a harsh punishment that would hurt MSU's team (unless he had no choice like with Winston or Sims)

It really annoys me that everyone thinks it is so impossible that we could be a top 10 team. Yes there are 3-4 teams that you could say should clearly be better...but after that every team has holes like we do. The RR years have defninatly scarred some people. Plenty of meh teams start and finish in the bttom of the top 10..someone has to be there.

I think some people might still be scared like last year was a fluke or something. This coaching staff is for real. Think about how much better this team got from WMU and ND the 1st 2 games to the last 2 Nebraska and OSU. They had some bumps on Offense while Borges was learning to use Denard and Denard learned to run this Offense.  If you have doubts rewatch all of the 2010 games ...then watch the 2011 games..my jaw was dropping at how guys developed. (this is why dvr's are amazing)  I used to think recruits were more important than coaching..Hoke convinced me of the opposite.

serious question..did we have any 5 tech d-lineman to compare to Martin?... I dont think we used true nose tackles in the past..and it seems that more gap responsibility would equal more tackes for a good player.  Also i feel like teams pushed the run against us alot ove the last few years

Also people keep trying to calculate the cost of CIL based off 13 games..but it was used way more then that...basketball games..signing day..you need a permanent cheap solution that people enjoy and wont make you think of price when you whip it out.

So ..where was everything on this list before 2005? I guess everything on this list wasn't there a decade ago when the SEC wasn't winning squat.  The rise of the SEC almost directly coencides with the rise of Alabama and Auburn. Auburn has already been proven to be paying..many people think bama is also, myself included.  Save that list for a board with people dumb enough to believe anything on it.
