but thank you for sharing and thanks to everyone else for sharing their insight into the problem. I found this post very educational and will be on the look out and I am not naive in any way whatsoever.
I've almost got pulled into 2 scams, myself. Someone mails you a postcard talking about something to sell you and then they start asking for personal information and wanting you to pay with a credit card over the phone. I had already given a ton of information without even thinking and then as I started to read off my credit card #, I got this weird feeling in my gut. I then simply said, "On 2nd thought, I don't want your book. Never contact me again and delete my information from your server." The person on the other side didn't even try to talk me out of it. I got a simple, "OK" and then they hung up. They knew I had wised up at the last second. The thought that went through my head was, "Wait! I'm going to give my credit card # to this complete stranger that contacted me." Beware of deals where they contact you. If you go out and seek something, it's one thing, but if they contact you with a deal...watch out
The 2nd one was when this company left an empty vial on my mailbox offerring a free water testing. I knew my water wasn't that great, so thought, "hey what a wonderful oppurtunity." I filled up the vial and put it back on the side of my mailbox just like the card said to do. A couple of days later, I got a call telling me how horrible my water was and that hey wanted to send a guy out. I said, "OK" and this guy comes out and tests my water again and wants to sell me this filtration system. As soon as he asked me for my credit card information, i started having this weird feeling. People need to trust this weird feeling. It is your brain telling you that something is wrong. I picked up his card and walked over to my desktop and typed his company into Google. The entire first page was filled with entries of scams related to this company. I calmly picked up my phone, took a pic of the guy, and told him to get out. When I took the pic of him, he had this look of horror on his face. Then he packed up his stuff and left. I never contacted the authorities about it The first one with the book, i put in google, too and it came back with scam entries. Thing about a lot of scams, they have already got some other people and they've talked about it on the internet and it will show up on google. Before making some purchase like that, it's good to google it. |
| 7 weeks 7 hours ago | "The Zone" does exist |
I've been in it many times. When it happens to me, it's usually when I'm shooting a rifle. Everything falls away and you're just going through the motions and hitting everything. Nothing else matters right then and there. You just cannot miss. I don't think it has anything to do with luck or momentum. Many people have discussed having this feeling.
When Trey took the shot, I didn't think it was going to go in. Even after the shot went in, I figured it was going to just be another gut shot to us Michigan fans and either Michigan would find a way to lose or Kansas would find a way to win, I didn't cheer until Kansas missed the final 3 pointer and the last seconds ticked off the clock. Then I jumped off my couch and started screaming. It was a strange feeling, from the opening tip until the very end, I thought Michigan would lose the game and was just surprised at the end. This happens to me sometimes. As Michigan inched closer, I just started to get more and more irritated that they would actually tease me into making it close instead of just comfortably losing by 10. |
| 7 weeks 12 hours ago | A lot of sports are rigged |
in Order of how rigged, I can list some
1) NBE (National Basketball Entertainment, not NBA) 2) Boxing 3) WWE wrestling 4) NFL football
I can't believe this is still being questioned. The NBA has been rigged for years. Several people have come out and revealed this, but the NBA administration finds a way to discredit those individuals. I'm just surprised that they players act surprised anymore. They already know what's going on. They could even be implicit in the fix as far as I'm concerned. |

I just don't see JB using those guys at the 4/5. There's no perimeter threat in those 4 players. I think he likes his 4 to be a perimeter threat. We might WANT him to play that line-up, but I don't think we'll see it that often. |

rooting for MSU. I think it's best that they split with each other, which means it's more likely that we would want the home team to win each game. I think Ohio will win, but MSU beat Kansas and Ohio lost to Kansas, so using that information, we already know that MSU will win.
Yes, I will be watching, but it's not like I'll be jumping out of my seat or cheering. It will just be a casual interest on a saturday with little else on. |
| 17 weeks 3 days ago | is DG going to play more than 5 minutes? |
Last year, besides the horrible weather that I can't blame on Brandon or anyone that has to do with UM athletics, Denard ran one series and then sat the rest of the 1 hr scrimmage. We got to sit in horrible weather and watch Devin and Bellomy miss 5 yard passes over and over for exactly 1 hr and then were told to go home or to the lacrosse game... and I got a ticket for parking...even though there was no sign where I parked prohibiting parking... Oh yeah and the items that you received for donations to Mott were pretty lame unless you donated $500 Like was said, It would be nice if someone actually made an effort to make it fun That being said, I and my group of friends will probably still go, get there at 7am, tailgate in sleet/snow/rain and 30 degrees with 50 mph winds and then head into the stadium and be irritated at the level of actual football that we get to see. |

NCAA didn't have an axe to grind with OSU. The sanctions imposed are/were a sham and should have been more. The sanctions OSU got were just a fraction of what happened to USC. The NCAA went lightly on OSU, because of Gee's relationships. He's only saying this, because OSU went 12-0 this year and 6-7 last year. If they had a better year last year and only went 8-4 or something this year, we wouldn't be hearing any of this stuff. |
| 23 weeks 6 days ago | People with tickets have been |
blowing off going to Michigan basketball games for years. Many times there are emtpy seats in the lower bowl for the entire game and they won't let you move down. People are buying up all of the tickets and placing them on stubhub. There will be plenty of empty seats for a lot of those games. Does it please Brandon that tickets are sold to people that will not bother attending? Some of them don't even bother to put them on stubhub or even give them away. They just get the 4pack or season tickets and the ticket gets cold on the kitchen counter. Michigan will still get money for the ticket, but they will not be getting any additional money that an actual person in a seat might spend and there will be empty seats shown on tv. I guess that's what happens when they actually align themselves with a ticket scalping website, though. You can get tickets in the upper bowl for quite a few games for a relatively low fee. You might pay more than face value, but there are tickets on stubhub you can get and that most can afford. It is a hassle to have to go through that, though. |

| 24 weeks 8 hours ago | I found it odd that your run was short |
the times that I ran this race, it was more like 3.2 for me. Of course, it does depend on your GPS and how accurate it is. | 24 weeks 8 hours ago | A lot of times, races are not exactly 3.11 miles |
Sometimes you don't follow the chalk exactly as it was measured out. Sometimes a runner will cut corners. I've run in many 5k's over the years with a GPS watch and very rarely do they come out as exactly 3.11 miles. Every time that I ran the BHBH run, I've actually ran over the 3.11 miles that a 5k should be. I always attributed to to the fact that you had to weave through the thousands of participants. To me, the course was hilly and long, so I didn't really use it as a measure of my running ability. It was what I call a 'funrun,' done solely for the enjoyment of running through AA and finishing in Michigan stadium, running through the tunnel. |

| 27 weeks 14 hours ago | We aren't head coaches |
I keep seeing people say, "Well, if there was a camera in my living room..." Well, there isn't one. We aren't paid a lot of money to be public representatives of a university. Fitzgerald is. Did he jump around like that when his team scored a td to take the lead with 4 minutes to go? No. He only did this after a personal foul on his QB. The guy is a douche. If there were a camera in my living room, then I'd adjust my behavior. I certainly wouldn't jump around like a fool after a personal foul on my qb. Now, I might jump around like a fool after Rountree makes an amazing catch, after Gibbons kicks the tying field goal, after DG scores the go-ahead td in OT, or after Demens makes a monstrous stop on 4th and 2 to end the game...but not for some random pf call that you don't even know is going to result in a score. |

| 28 weeks 4 days ago | We dont NEED MSU to win |
we just need Nebraska to lose a game or even, 2. There are other games left on their schedule besides @MSU. Now a loss by Nebraska tomorrow would be nice, but Michigan's whole season does NOT depend on it. I wouldn't be unhappy with a Spartan victory, but then again, I wouldn't be too upset to see Nebraska pile it on either. A very mediocre season for Sparty would be a welcome thing around here. |
| 28 weeks 4 days ago | It was in the free press today |
and they were referencing Hoke's radio show. I'll believe it when I see it. |
| 35 weeks 14 hours ago | I'm confused |
I'm still confused on the usage of yards/attempt as the most important statistic in judging who the best passing QB is and in that, he's only leading by .3 Obviously, the Michigan schedule with the best team in the land and the worst team in the land is enough to throw off any chart. When looking at passing, I'd look at either completion %, passer rating, or even total yards before I'd look at yards/attempt. When I ask Sparties who they think is the best passing QB in the big10 (or even the best QB in the big 10), the ones that I know have no hesitation. Their first answer is "NOT DENARD!!" and their 2nd answer is usually Braxton Miller, even though they can come up with no apparent reason for feeling that way. |

| 1 year 5 weeks ago | Do we |
absolutely know that the coaches consider Devin to be the 2nd string QB? Could they be entertaining some of the same thoughts we are when thinking of Bellomy and Gardner? |
| 1 year 5 weeks ago | Well, |
You paid a lot more attention than me. After several beers at my tailgate, I didn't really see any point in analyzing an offense that was in no way going to resemble the offense that we will have for game 1 2012, at least after the first series with Denard. Our first team O played one series. After that, i found it really difficult to get anything at all from the 'action.' Then after that, you had what was apparently the first team D playing against a crippled first team O. I say 'crippled,' because that was not the first team O. It was a collection of players that might possibly be on the first team O with what is probably our 3rd best QB playing. Then you had the 2nd team O playing the 2nd team D. This was who Rawls looked decent against. I guess I might agree with your analysis of him if he had went against the 1's, but he did not. He had about 4 good runs against the 2nd team D, which is again, a unit we will hopefully not see on the field come Sept. I see the spring game as an oppurtunity to get together with some friends in AA, do some tailgating with food and beverages, goof off, get in the big house and watch some drills and scrimmages in the big house. ( I really wish they'd play a real game of 1's v 2's, but it seems we will never get that at MIchigan). Now that they are showing it on btn, I'm heavily considering making it a party at my house to save the $50 in gas and th $40 dollars in parking. I do appreciate your analysis, though. |
| 1 year 10 weeks ago | Yah, why so shiny? |
seems like the material on the palms would be of some sort of meshy type, textured at least, to ensure better catching of the ball. | 1 year 11 weeks ago | quick check of Murray St at realtime rpi |

| 1 year 15 weeks ago | When Michigan had players hurt |
it wasn't a valid excuse and it won't be for Sparty now. I remember back when Michigan had Chris Hunter, Les Abram, Dion Harris, and Graham Brown hurt or any combination of those players and Sparty felt just as good for their win as if Michigan was healthy. They said that Amaker can't coach and that he can't recruit well enough to build depth. IF Michigan wins on sunday, I'll be saying the same thing when they bring up the DayDay injury. "Izzo should be able to coach around that and he should've recruited more depth. Not our problem!" |
| 1 year 15 weeks ago | I did see one article |
that ranked Burbidge as the top rated player in the state. That must have been the one article that Dantonio saw. |
| 1 year 15 weeks ago | I wish people would stop saying |
that Burbidge won't qualify. I'd assume that he will until we hear that he hasn't. MSU will find a way to get him on the field. What have you seen from Dantonio to make you believe otherwise? |
| 1 year 15 weeks ago | I am completely serious |
I am going by Izzo's words, not stuff that I'm making up. Izzo has constantly criticized Payne and Nix publicly for being out of shape. Yes, Nix has improved, but he is still completely out of shape. Izzo has talked about his players being tired. Is Nix in better shape? Yes. Is Nix in good shape for a d1 bball player at what is supposed to be one of the best programs in the nation? No! He's a 20 year old d1 basketball player. He has absolutely no excuse to be that fat and out of shape. Draymond is a senior and is still out of shape. Izzo is the one complaining about depth. Look at all the freshmen and sophomores he is running out there. We were told by Sparty all year that Appling would be super-awesome. He's decent. Injuries and decommits happen. Welcome to the party, see Dion Harris, Lester Abram, Chris Hunter, etc. and any number of players that committed to Michigan and then changed. You're not going to get any pity here. None was given to Michigan when it happened to them and none should be given from any UM fans. I am actually kind of suprised at the number of Michgian fans that have spoken out that they feel bad for DayDay. I'm not happy he's hurt, but I'm not sad either. That shoe has been on the MIchigan foot so much in the past, that I truly do not feel for any team that is going through a couple of injuries, especially after the torment given to Michigan fan during their troubles. Trice and Kearney are no Trey Burke. |
| 1 year 15 weeks ago | maybe the huge decommitment will |
commit to Michigan? |
| 1 year 15 weeks ago | One |
can only hope!
Don't forget Nix and Payne being completely out of shape, this after Nix promised to get in shape at the end of last season.
Appling is just not as good as they were trying to make him Trice and Kearney aren't ready to contribute as freshman The hurt guy that would be sniping 3's if only... The incidents with Summers and Allen and the thing with Lucious. How good would that team be with Lucious? How good would they be if they had Lucious, Nix and Payne were in shape, DayDay was healthy, with Appling. All that has gone to hell with mismanagement. Izzo takes none of the blame, but he really is. Where is the depth on that team? |
| 1 year 15 weeks ago | He's been doing that a while |
Meanwhile, I just stopped and am just referring to them as Ohio State or OSU again. Calling them anything else just gives them extra attention that they don't deserve. |

| 1 year 19 weeks ago | Why not? |
Why wouldn't someone tell him that to his face? Are you insinuating that he would commit violence if someone said those things to his face? What kind of weak-minded individual would do that? Even if he would commit violence over it, I say, "do it." Have you seen most of these guys when they get in fights? They have no idea what they're doing, then you sue them and you'd no longer be broke and miserable. |
| 1 year 30 weeks ago | If a coach doesn't discourage behavior, then |
he is encouraging it. Just like if you own a dog and it goes on the rug. If you just ignore it, the dog will not understand that its wrong and will continue to do it. If you discourage it, the dog may stop...there is no neutral ground. A failure to discourage represents encouragement. |

I know, crazy!!! right?
it's true, though. Some people out there just do not run to the mgoblog msg board immediately after the game to discuss the game. Therefore, you might get some discussion from those monday morning types. I don't have a problem with it. I'm sure Brady Hoke, if he has a presser today, will talk some about the Michigan-MSU game. Are we going to shout at him from the crowd to get over it and stop talking about it? I doubt it. Now tomorrow might be pushing it, but I have no problem with some discussion carrying over to monday morning knowing that some people have a life and don't necessarily spend all weekend on their computer or smartphone posting and reading on mgoblog.

Unless he is hurt, of course. In fact, I say I want Denard in there full-time. No2 qb crap. Put Devin on the sideline and the only way he comes in the game is injury or a 35 point lead. Cut it with the cutesy 2qb sets. This is not manball! I have seen nothing from Devin to prove that he is the better passer, just a lot of fans saying that he is. |

| 1 year 33 weeks ago | Total Defense is yards |
Scoring defense is points I know, that's obvious Yards didn't count last year for the offense. I'd rather have a good scoring D.
ND scored at will against MSU. The only reason they didn't score more is that they didn't need to. The rest of the teams they have played are horrible at offense. OH* has looked like total crap offensively against both Miami, Fla and Toledo, as well as, MSU. The offensive statistics of their opponents are NOT just a result of them playing MSU. Western shut down Central. I could go on, but there isn't really a point. We'll find out first hand how MSU's d is in 2 weeks. |

I find the LB stuff hilarious. My question before reading this thread was, does LB know about himself and his fame and what, if he did know, does he think about it? I guess there are some rumors floating around, but nothing concrete. I spotted him in a picture gallery after the SDSU game, but I usually don't see him during the games. I've got to step up my game. |

I hadn't seen any previous thread about this article and I didn't even know there was a Dorsey article on Aug 8th on Mlive. I went there and did a search and found what I think he was talking about. THing is, it didn't have anything to do with State. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I still don't know what he's talking about even though now I do know what article he is talking about... |
| 1 year 41 weeks ago | Yeah |
We can still comment on that it seems that Floyd will see no suspension whatsoever for what is his 3rd alcohol related offense. The 2 situations are not equal and no one should say they are, but missing an entire season is significantly more than not missing anything. |

We prefer to be referred to as 'natives' if you absolutely need to specify a difference, but first and foremost, we're just people. |

but soon to be shortened until Sept 2nd after he works his way back on the team. |

that is their response. The longer they take the "can't tough this" attitude, the worse it will be for them. The best thing for them that they could do right now is to try to grovel. I'm hoping that they stand defiant!! |
| 2 years 3 weeks ago | Come on, guys |
Tressell is a saint. Leave the guy alone. Oh, and OSU thought of barring him from the spring game, but then decided not to. Its the thought that counts, right? |

and it was 35 and snowing If I was a fan at my first spring game, I probably would never come back. It was a horrible day the weather stupid print-at-home tickets that meant nothing, didn't even hear who won any of the prizes people begging for money every 5 minutes, I get it, its a charity fund-raiser, I'll give at the entrance, you don't need to bug me every 5 minutes in the stands cars lining the subdivision near the game all were ticketed by AA police barely an hour of practice, Coach Hoke said it was because of depth...huh? The guys were tired after that? It was really, really bad and it wasn't just the weather. I'm already questioing if i ever want to go again. |
| 2 years 5 weeks ago | Yeah |
Students couldn't take 90 minutes out of their saturday, because they have finals coming up...OK |

So in 15 practices the 105th nationally ranked D improved to super-duper awesome level but the O just hasn't had time to put in the new system. OK... |
| 2 years 7 weeks ago | You really should register |
I get all kinds of emails with information and sweet deals. |
| 2 years 7 weeks ago | I think he was talking about |
I think he was talking about what Dion Sims was involved in. |
| 2 years 7 weeks ago | No |
I'm not a season ticket holder. I think I get the letter, because I'm registered at mgoblue.com and occasionally buy tickets through the website. I was shocked the first time I got that letter, but I guess Michigan was just doing everything they could to make sure no one mistakenly violates NCAA rules. |
| 2 years 7 weeks ago | I'm just a fan |
that occasionally goes to games and I get a letter once a year telling me that I am a booster. In this letter, it details what actions to avoid so that I don't violate NCAA regulations. If I'm a booster, then Sarniak has to be. The University of Michigan did not self-report any of the violations for basketball. They sat on them for quite a while and denied any wrongdoing for much of the time that it was known that Ed Martin was being investigated by the FBI. This put a dark cloud over AA and other coaches used this to woo recruits away from Michigan. This was another factor in the downfall of Michigan basketball. Even if they rule that Sarniak was a friend of the family like Jalen with Ed Martin, there are limits on what friends can give to athletes. They can't just do anything they want, because they've been friends for a while. |
| 2 years 16 weeks ago | shin splints |
Best thing I ever learned for shin splints...prevention is key. Sit down on a bench, stool, couch, whatever so that your butt is higher than your feet. Put your feet flat on the ground, raise your toes up as high as they can go and hold tight leaving the heel of your foot on the ground...hold...hold. You'll feel the muscles in your shin tightening, release letting your toes go back down to the floor...repeat this exercise for 3 sets of 12 reps every day forever...You won't get shin splints as long as you regularly do this simple little exercise. Hope that helps, sorry if repeated, read through and hadn't seen it As for your arch, your stride is probably messed up...when you run, your feet should be straight...not toe pointed out...common problem...also, shorten your stride...don't reach your feet too far out in front of you, use shorter stride and step more rather than a long stride |
