At least stop dressing like an ass. Put some clothes on when it's cold and rainy. You look like an idiot. No you are not Billy B in New England. You are not tough and neither is your toilet paper strong team. Drives me crazy. No headset. No hat. No jacket. He just looks like a 3rd grader with parents who don't care how he dresses when he goes to school. Absolutely does not project 'toughness' when his teams get manhandled *weak in and *weak out.
|1 year 26 weeks ago||Kirk Herbstreit literally just said:||
"FSU's 19 year old lineman is like a veteran on this O-line, compared to the other guys".
They seem pretty okay, decent, somewhat good this year. Oh, and with a mobile QB a la DG.

I asked for them.
|1 year 26 weeks ago||I agree 1000%||
Let's see who starts jumping from this sinking ship. I hope nobody. But were bound to have major recruiting losses at the end of this season.
|1 year 26 weeks ago||Find one piece of evidence where Bo was 'gracious' in defeat.||
Especially vs. sparty. Our in-state rivalry. Oh wait, we rarely, rarely had to worry about that with him.
|1 year 26 weeks ago||What is this?!||
An msu thread?? Wrong website troll.
|1 year 26 weeks ago||Fellow UM fan...||
...needs to keep his 'classy' comments to himself after a painful loss. Too soon for 'I tip my cap to you good sir'. What is this, chess?! Good lord our football fathers are rolling over in their graves. My point was: This thread should not even have been started. I'm all for classy and high ground. But it's like telling a 9/11 joke on 9/12. Too soon, way too soon...
|1 year 26 weeks ago||You think I'm a troll.||
Lol. I think a sparty on this site would be considered a damned troll. Change your avator. Bo is rolling over in his grave at games like this today and I bet you think it's just fine and dandy. Calling a passionate fan a troll. Jeebus man.
|1 year 26 weeks ago||Wow. GVSU is a phenomenal school.||
I actually went to both schools. Both are fantastic schools. I am extremely blessed to have degrees from them. Have you ever even been near GVSU's campus? Wow. That was an ignorant statement.
|1 year 26 weeks ago||Please...||
...explain to me what 'system' Hoke is employing?!?!
|1 year 26 weeks ago||It's simple:||
We finish with W's over Nebraska, Iowa and Northwestern. We lose our asses to osu. We finish a fake 9-3. Make a central florida bowl and lose our ass again. Borges and Funk keep their jobs in the offseason and it costs Hoke his job two years from now. Predictable. Extremely predictable.
|1 year 26 weeks ago||You took my breath away....||
...I couldn't agree more.
|1 year 26 weeks ago||I hope I get banged to Bolivia for this:||
Gross. You make me sick. Go back to E. Lansing you troll. You are a fake Wolverine my friend.
|1 year 26 weeks ago||This thread quickly got away from coaching thread to...||
rest of season prediction. The coaches are bad. Really, really bad. Seems generic, but a generic game plan and development of players deserves the same response. Borges must, must absolutely under every conceivable notion, be relieved of his duties. We need an actual QB coach and a separate OC. Plain and simple. We need to rescue Morris and Speight from this frightening string of bad coaching, game planning, play calling and overall development. Funk = theres the door! Good recruiter but couldn't coach an o-line to save his life. The stats and performance on the field speak for themselves. Absolutely embarrassed. We are a fake 6-2 with more talent than the team that just kicked our asses in E. Lansing. Wow! Just wow! We are being laughed at now for statistical performance and vs. our hated in-state rivalry nonetheless. Hoke = mid level manager trying to be the CEO of a major corporation. Way, way, way, over his head. I think he deserves one more year with Mattison, but this offseason better see change form some of the position coaches. If not, Hoke's loyalty will cause the end of his reign. Ugggghhhh!
|1 year 26 weeks ago||Exactly!||
I want Narduzzi at sparty for forever. Shame on us for starting a thread about being pissed he is still the D coordinator at sparty. Awful. Embarrassing. We shouldn't be wishing him away. I hope he stays and it forces us to elevate our level of play.
|1 year 32 weeks ago||I literally couldn't disagree more re: DG||
Gardner had ample time on lots o' plays that he either A. would not go through his progressions after locking on Gallon for a split second before taking off when options 2-4 were wide the hell open. B. would have ample time and couldn't hit the broadside of a barn. Plain and simple. There is no way you can defend his performance last two games. O-line or not.
|1 year 48 weeks ago||RIP friend.||
So terribly sad, inexplicable and frustrating. What a truly great leader on the field and a better man off. Thanks for all the great memories at GVSU and after. My thoughts and prayers go out to Cullen's family and hoping your beautiful wife and kids find peace someday. I know they will have an unlimited amount of support moving forward.

Does anyone know who else might be visiting?
|2 years 25 weeks ago||I'm sure this has been said, but it's worth repeating...||
I honestly believe that his time spent on the field at WR has helped his maturity process, develop a better appreciation for the speed of the game and generally has gotten him more comfortable in the offense. I too believe he gives us an option now at slowly developing S. Morris as opposed to throwing him into the fire and possibly causing more harm than good.
|2 years 25 weeks ago||I sure Hoke that...||
this team has bowl aspirations. Just not Little Cesar bowl dreams, but larger Pasadena dreams! Now let's hope msu can take care of business in E. Lansing today and draw us one step closer.
|2 years 25 weeks ago||Happy birthday Coach Hoke!!!||
I'm sure his birthday present for himself is Minnesota breakdown and Northwestern game film.
|2 years 26 weeks ago||Damn it...||
Our policy with taking visits when committed is so flawed that we have to say good bye to this poor kid before he even decommits?! He could end up not liking either visit, but refuse to come back to Big Blue because 17 & 18 year old kids are not humble enough to say, 'just kidding, I want to come back', even if that's what he feels deep down. So sad. This policy needs to be changed to realistic expectations. These kids should be able to stay committed. That way they have Big Blue on their minds when visiting other campuses and its not 'wide open' because they know they are no longer committed anywhere else. Awful.
|2 years 33 weeks ago||My only complaint...||
has nothing to do with the video, per say, but rather the audio/speakers on the new video boards. Is it just me, or did anyone else notice the imbalance of sound in the stadium, with only sound coming from the north scoreboards, and none from the south scoreboards??...Then, to my surprise, I noticed speakers only on top of the north video boards and none on the south. This clearly explains why all the sound only comes from one end, but why in the world would they want it set up that way? I'm in section 20 ,and have been for a very long time, and yesterday was the first time I ever noticed the sound disparity issues. It had the car radio effect when your sitting in the back and the driver accidently changes the speakers to 'front' and you can't hear anything but muffled sounds as a result. Thoughts MGoBloggers?!
|2 years 35 weeks ago||I think the best...||
Median here is sit Fitz for the first half. He is still being punished game time, but doesn't lose out on all 4 quarters. This is a first time offender and the situation seemed pretty tame, ie he was cooperative with the Police and everyone else. Lord knows Hoke & Co. have made him pay dearly during practices, with possible early morning running sessions up and down the bleachers in the Big House (I believe Arrington had to do something similar a few years back). As far as Frank Clark is concerned, he should definitely sit the whole game. Hoke still makes a strong point to his players and appeases the masses, without doing too much and overreacting to make a statement and appease the Drew Sharps of the world. Not saying he would make a decisoin based on D.S., but you get my point.

Mine as well bow out early like the basketball team did...were on a fucking roll right now! Another weekend of infinite sadness :(
|3 years 5 weeks ago||Boo!||
Fuck Ohio...and no, making it this far did not make anyone feel better about the basketball teams loss...Ohio won a GRAND TOTAL of 2 games in the tournament and couldn't beat an injury riddled UNC team! I don't care how good or highly ranked UNC is either. Any team w/ those personnel losses should lose in the Sweet 16 but they didn't because Ohio is terrible and WE lost to them!
|3 years 6 weeks ago||Ha ha!||
Very well done sirs!
|3 years 6 weeks ago||I share your opinion...||
End it. Immediately. Stop it. It has absolutely no place in Michigan athletics amymore. I will literally cringe when I hear Hoke say it now. Its hypocritical for us to use. Our basketball team blew it, plain and simple. If we lost to them in baseball, softball, soccer, etc..I would say the same thing. Clearly Hoke does it as a rib on osu, to call them inferior, like Ohio is in terms of sports and Universit stature in the state. That is not the case any longer as the tiny MAC school knocked us squarely on our asses . Who gives a shit if their script reads 'O H I O'. That has NOTHING to do with why Hoke calls them that. It is supposed to give them an inferior complex, that is no longer relevant.
|3 years 6 weeks ago||Okay great...||
Then Zack is clearly a better recruiter and maybe he should get into a Grad Asst spot on the team, but he and Stu were clearly liabilities everytime they stepped foot on the floor. I don't understand what they did to win a BIG Ten title. Everybody can thank Burke. Plain and simple. They eached Avg. what?...6 pts a game for their career. Stop using terms like 'grit' and 'toughness'. What the hell does that even mean? It certainly doesn't put up points which you need to outscore and beat an opponent.
|3 years 6 weeks ago||But...||
Unfortunately he is correct sir. TJH did not live up to his lofty expectations. He played TERRIBLE this year...plain and simple.
|3 years 6 weeks ago||I couldn't...||
AGREE more! I've been shouting that since the first five minutes of the game! AWFUL coaching performance. Simply terrible!...Why the hell doesn't anybody else see that?! The last three games of the season, when it mattered MOST I might add, Michigan played and certainly were coached the worst.
|3 years 6 weeks ago||The biggest Donkey Punch to the balls...||
Was that we lost to OHIO!! Holy shit balls, does anyone not see that! Stop giving a MAC team credit. Who gives a shit about DJ 'whats his name' Cooper. We have Burke?!
That saddest part is, it was OHIO!! At this very moment in time Hoke must STOP using 'Ohio' to reference osu. Dead. Done. No more. The bball team killed it. It's absolutley disrespectful to use that term now that we are their bithces. Ohio was used as a slight rib, not any more! It would be hypocritical at this point. Almost complimenting osu to call them 'Ohio'.
Mother of god why couldn't it have been F'ckn Hawaii State Tech College?!
It couldn't have been a WORSE loss than to OHIO.
|3 years 6 weeks ago||Who Cares?!||
I mean seriously...THJ hasn't been relevant since last season. Not a single person can argue that. Not one. He was terrible this year. A huge let down. No shit sherlock he's not going to the pros, because the pros wouldn't take him! He's the 6th man off the bench in the D-league right now. Everybody that said Burke settled for the 3 ball way too much was spot on! That falls on Belein and his GAWD DAMN green light to let anyone just chuck it up when were only down 3 and clearly just need a couple 2 point baskets. Unreal. Burke is John Wall, without all the talent. LOVES to shoot the rock and think about setting up the offense and passing second. Good point guard but is allergic to assits. If he were taller, he's a no brainer 2 guard. Also a D-league contributer at best right now. Thank god Stu and Zack graduate. HUGE liabilities on the court all season. Way undersized and lacking in just pure athleticism. Prototypical Indiana bballers. If we don't start recruiting 'ATH' like they do in football, we will continue to be killed come tourney time. Stu and Zack would be 'human victory cigars' at best on a legit team. Not starters!
|3 years 6 weeks ago||Belein & Co...||
Had this team ill prepared the last three games. I have lost all faith in him as a real threat to take this team ove the top. Not being sarcastic or stretching at all here. His brand of style, 'everybody has a green light to shoot the 3' just does not work vs opponents who are well prepared for it and have even minimal coaching talent. His brand of offense is Rich Rod on the hardwood court and we all know that it just doesn't work. Three ball is spread basketball. Plain and simple. Its easy to defend and can be exploited. I'm beyond disapointed in the coaching, far more than the players. They seemed slow to adjust, ill prepared, poorly coached, lost, etc...Very embarassing for the University. What hurts the worst is everything they accomplished this year was just severly down graded and most of the respect we gained back for having shared the conference title is gone. We got lucky this year, plain and simple. Nobody is going to take us seriously until we start making noise when it matters most. When it counts! Beating inferior opponents means nothing! We got lucky to beat MSU and OSU at home. We were embarrassed in the Big Ten tourney and now the NCAA. Minny in the 1st rd should have been a loss and osu certainly exposed this under coached and lacking in talent team. Beyond frustrating! Now I have to spend the next 8 months avoiding all sports media outlets. Thanks team!

|3 years 9 weeks ago||I totally agree...||
Its so frustrating to watch! IMO it always seems as though its Morgan and Novak that are the guilty parties...Its even harder to watch when its a close game. I've never seen them with a problem like this until this year. Maybe because the team is under the microscope so much more, but man we got to correct those small misses when it comes tourney time!

Has never had a strong track record in football recruiting, substandard at best, since I have been an 'Insider' and began following football recruiting about 6 or 7 years ago. They do, however, fair very well in mens bball recruiting. Not sure why there is such disparity between the two college sports.
'2012' post above is correct though, they have been very strong as of late with their predictions and nailed Garnett, Reeves and Kozan...
Let's hope their right about Diamond! Damn we need him!...

No sources or any of that bullshit...just preparing the rest of you for another day in 'Hoke & Co' couldn't close a f'ckn front door right now'.

1. We sucked balls
|3 years 13 weeks ago||Meh!?||
Your not surprised?! Well why didn't you share in your wisdom then the last couple weeks and set the rest of us straight since the rest of this board, and recruting world for that matter, have been fairly confident in Reeves since our in-home visits and thought Garnett was pretty good shot too?!
Speak up next time Yoda
|3 years 13 weeks ago||F'CK!!!||
We lost this kid twice! Double kick in the balls...What sucks worse is he wasn't even interested in ohio the first time around and chosen psu over Mich...now we fall in 2nd again!
I'm buckling up alright, but its not for any recruits to committ to us anytime soon, its the f'ckn recruitin storm down in C-Bus that's tearing through anything in its way right now!
I hate osu as much as anybody on this board, and I'm not ignorant to our recruiting class this year, but mark my words if Urbs doesn't f'ck this up, he's got a National Championship roster coming in and I would be surprised if it takes him more than two 2-3 yrs to win one.

I too attended GVSU. Great school. Not really sure even where to begin. The downtown campus houses the business school, a nationally ranked Engineering school and what is now the 'Medical Mile' with the Nursing program in partnership with Spectrum Health. Of course the wealth and influence of the DeVos and VanAndel families has helped tremendously. All new facilities, in both Allendale Campus (the Main campus) and the downtown schools. Everything is new and modern. Wonderful academics and of course, athletics. 7 or 8 straight Div II Sports Cups. Grand Rapids is a very under the radar and under appeciaed city. Lots of bars, restaurants, shops, museums, etc...I love the west-side of the state. Friendly people. You really do receive a great education and get the most bang for your buck. My motto is if its not UofM it should be GVSU. Much, much better than the directional schools. Just one mans opinion though. I graduated 5 years ago and found a job right away and since then have begun a successful career in the healthcare industry. I was a Marketing and Finance Major. I had a great experience with my educational advisors. People talk about sports, parties, campus and social life and I truly believe its one of the best in the state. Allendale is not a thriving metropolis but the campus itself is growing, has modern facilities and really, really nice housing options. Much better than WMU, CMU and EMU. Downtown is not far away, 15-20 minutes, and that opens up another world of possibility. Thats where I lived my last 2 years and had the time of my life!!
|3 years 23 weeks ago||As I have heard Brian say in the past...||
'I would co-sign' that statement as well. A lof of red not only tailgating by us (Main St. & Pauline) but I sit in section 20 and it appeared the entire upper bowl near the south scoreboard was all red. Its hard to tell how they would behave if given a chance to show their true colors if they were winning. They took the loss with class it appeared. Worth noting: unless I miss something in the paper everyweek, Jihad Freep made a point of posting an article I just read about 3 arrests and 42 fans were removed from the game for fighting, drinking, etc...I'm sure instances occur every game, but it stood out to me. Either Freep's reputation proceeds them or it was a high altercation list and worth mentioning. No mention if they were Cornhusker or Wolverine fans.
|3 years 23 weeks ago||I agree...||
I saw the play too watching the Ducks and Trojans and just absolutely couldn't believe what I was witnessing. Clearly Woods ran a slant instead of an out and Barkley was used to throwing the timing route. He wasn't even being rushed or hurried at the time. I have no respect for Lane Kiffin whatsoever, but completely agreed with him when he ran over to the refs and began giving them an earful. Awful, just awful. And I too am rooting for USC. Love to see the Ducks lose - not a fan of them at all, plus, our boy Pharoah Brown is there...
|3 years 24 weeks ago||I couldn't agree more...it||
I couldn't agree more...it was frustrating at first, then baffling, then pathetic, then expected, then we were fed a line of BS about the kicking game improving during 'practice' (Who gives a shit), then right back to terrible, just terrible...We are a tier 1 Div I-A School and we can't 'buy' (scholarship money) a kicker?!

I would gladly order two pairs! One for purely 'You can look but don't touch' and the other for 'Man, those are sweet, where can I get some to look cool at the Mich games when the weather invevitably turns cold?'
I hope Adidas makes them available to the general masses, but I highly doubt it.
|3 years 33 weeks ago||Honest to god...||
TWolf couldn't stay healthy if he just sat on the bench. He has the worst luck. This is really bad news, naturally this comes on the eve of our biggest home matchup in years. May god have mercy on our secondary. Hopefully a raucous crowd and Dline pressure helps stabilize this. And the answer is no, Re: will he be effective w/ the club?
|3 years 34 weeks ago||Wait?...||
The NCAA is NOT counting the statistics in their record books? Even though we are counting the game as a W on our schedule? So record wise yes, but data/statistics no? I'm so confused now...
|3 years 34 weeks ago||Dave Brandon...||
has already said that msu and ohio would be pretty much stay noon or 3:30pm kickoffs in the foreseeable future. I think Brandon believes there is too much liability with those two games in particular. Not to take anything away from ND, because I truly believe they are on par with msu and ohio in terms of history and rivalry, nothing screams 'could get way out of hand' like having fans from our state capital and that one city in ohio in Ann Arbor ALL day drinking, drinking, then running out to the party store to get more supplies, to continue drinking, drinking (nothing wrong so far), then starting fights with our fans (ahhh there it is). Although I do believe this is a great litmus test to see if it can be done very soon again. I think PSU and Nebraska would be great night game matchups.
On a personal note, I sure hope it does happen in the next couple of seasons because I have to MISS (ahhhh the horror) this Saturday because of a close friends wedding. Unbelieveable the timing...I'm a season ticket holder and have been since I inherited my tickets in '89. Can count on one hand how many home games I've missed since then. Its hard to even talk about. Yes, I am standing up in the wedding, or else my ass would be in AA. Ugghhhh....
|3 years 34 weeks ago||Agreed!...||
In 2009 when we won the close one at the Big House I remember hearing ND Fans all around me, my season tix are in Sec. 20 BTW, yelling "If you went to Michigan, too bad! You will ALL work for me one day because I'll have my ND degree!" I wanted to vomit! They also LOVE referencing they are a private and we are public institution so the education we receive couldn't possibly be on par with what they will receive.
|3 years 34 weeks ago||Cowherd has a HUGE...||
Man Crush on Brady! So I naturally assumed he also had some respect for Brady's Alma Mater. Cowherd appears to like traditional powerhouses (Yes, we've been down a few years, not that bad tho) and he seems like a conservative kind of guy that would appreciate the 'Michigan Way's'. That being said - I NEVER hear him say anything positive about Michigan's Football program.
Today was even more ridiculous. I listen to him at work on the radio everyday, and I've never called in or tried contacting him, but I almost did. He said all the things mass media pundits do when its apparent they only read 'snippets' of info about teams and really never take the time to even watch the first game without throwing out there 'expert analysis'. Cowheard said DRob will struggle because he's still getting used to Al Borges 'Pro Style' Offense and being under center will be tough for him. Hu?? Clearly Cowheard wasn't interested in finding out that we ran 70% of offensive plays from shotgun and DRob will still run, run, run when he wants to.
Then the ususal garbage stuff: Stadium is big, not loud, our D still sucks, etc...
|3 years 34 weeks ago||Update:||

|3 years 34 weeks ago||July 27th 2007....||
I can't believe its been over 4 years since we were at least 18 games over .500! Unreal baseball being play in D-Town right now. Nothing better than rolling into the postseason on a hot winning streak.
|3 years 34 weeks ago||I was thinking the same thing....||
Nothing wrong with a little national spotlight, from the biggest sports media playa in town. Too bad when you read Forde's article it has to take a few low punches to our collective guts. I get the D comment, even 'rolling over vs. OSU', but the night game comment was just lame. Nothing wrong with a classy, traditional stadium that likes to pack 109k fans for a high noon kickoff. Its garned us a reputation and TONS of national spotlight over the years playing when we do. We DO NOT need to play Thursday, Friday or Saturday night games to 'make the front page'.
Thanks for the fodder Forde.
|3 years 34 weeks ago||I'll take it!||
Can't get our hopes up just yet, like some other posts have said he still hasn't taken a lot of his other visits just yet, but Saturday did nothing but REALLY help our chances with McGary! At least the rain was worth something - it was a memorable experience to say the least.
|3 years 34 weeks ago||Another...||
In all seriousness, he is one bad mama jama.
I hope TWolf is 100% by the time Saturday rolls around or its going to be a LONG evening at the Big House. I just don't think Avery or Floyd have the skill/speed/ability to keep up with him.
Must keep pressure on Reeses Pieces to compete on D. I don't care if were disguising blitzes all day (night) with Kovacs.

|3 years 34 weeks ago||Rivals = Pseudo 'Experts'||
Little do they know or care to understand that the most spectacular thing Denard did all day was control the game, control the clock, not commit any T/O's, no penalties and make timely throws to pick up first downs. If that's what he does all season and we continue to pick up W's then it IS spectacular play on his part!
|3 years 34 weeks ago||I sure hope so....||
Don't get me wrong, I loved the quality, size, even just the physical presence, but yes, there are glaring omissions in content that Dave Brandon already even addressed - post game on the radio show. I didn't hear anything specific to 'ball on' even though sitting in the end zone away from my normal sideline season tix, it was a pain in the ass doing visual spot checks on ball placement. But...he did address software issues and bugs that need to be worked out and will. I am convinced we will never see the in game stats, I.e. Rush, pass & total yards were accustomed to seeing, but rather quick and often snapshots between plays & after big gains.
|3 years 34 weeks ago||I was at the game...||
And I believe you misinterpreted what the PA announcer said 'you can Re-Enter' the stadium with your ticket stub if you leave the premises during the rain delay. Not get 'Reimbursed'. Sorry, that's never going to happen.

First D. Harris and now L. Woodley! That's a great sign of the depth and talent we have representing UofM in the NFL. Who knows, B. Graham could be well on his way to earning the tag...I can't wait until we can continue the trend of sending off elite defensive talent into the NFL...

God I hope he commits...now that the jihad freep war has come to an end and there withdrawing their troops, we can begin focusing on real stories, updates and positive recruIting momentum...I just hope for the sake of our coaches recruiting efforts if DB decides to Employ RR n' Co next season please make an early and very much public announcement so nothing stands in our way of securing some strong talent and easing the minds of indecisive talent

Jon 'hit the nail on the head!' he poured out on paper exactly what I have been thinking for 15 months!! This article needs to be passed around like a Spartan cheerleader at a fraternity in E.Lansing (oh relax). Jon, you sir are a man of character and integrity! Not like those ass clowns at jihad Freep...I do have one small complaint though: god I wish you would have mentioned the biggest Fieger of 'em all!...Drew 'sucks donkey balls' Sharp! but it's okay, point still made!

iI we are -3, then we are actually even. All home teams in FBS are given 3 pts against the spread.

According to the AP reports, and again, this could not be accurate, but will be confirmed tomorrow, the one allegation that was dropped against UofM was the one directly related to RR and his 'failure to promote an atmosphere of compliance'. If this stands correct, we would in fact owe him his remaining salary, plus the sunk cost of what we already spent bailing him out of WVU AND what he's earned over the last 2 1/2 seasons....PLUS...potentially buying out a new coaches contract and negotiating a new multi-million dollar contract...whew, I'm broke just thinking about it!
