This is a no brainer.  When I was in law school at ND, the women's team was very strong.  They went to the final four a bunch of times and I think even played in the championship game one year I was there, if I'm not mistaken.  Needless to say, they were a top 5 program all 3 years I was there.

The girls team would come to the gym and play pick up with the boys.  They had so many advantages.  1) they were all in shape, we were not. 2) they were a team, we were a random collection of 5 guys.  3) they made us play with a girls ball.  Nonetheless, I don't think I ever participated in or saw a girls victory.  Just a random collection of guys playing with a girls ball beat them every single time.  They were not blow outs, but they were always wins.

An elite group of 9th graders who are in shape and actually know how to play together would destroy the girls, no doubt. 

Its funny to read through the posts.  A lot of people disagree, and that is fine, but probably 70% of the people who disagree don't add a single substantive thing to the discussion. 

So because you disagree with me, I know nothing about the opponent, basketball, or the coach?  You do not know me, know nothing about how much basketball I have played, coached, or watched.  Apparently Beilein and I have starkly different philosophy's about T.O.'s and stemming a run.  But your ad hominem attack when you know nothing about me is ridiculous.

I am absolutely proud of how the team fought back, there is no doubt about it.  And like I said, I like Beilein and he is a good coach.  But not calling a single timeout is nonsensical.

Borges is a good coach, but he had a bad game.  You don't call one screen, one draw, one trap?  I mean, they blitzed almost every single play in the 2nd half, and you call an empty set with no backs to protect?  And don't even get me started on the 4th down call, I almost threw up.

Maybe I have you confused with someone else.  There was a HS coach who got on here and broke down stuff about defense and offense all the time.  I thought his tag was coach something, and I thought it was you.  Perhaps not.

Dude, Coach, can I ask what happened to you?  You used to post some of the best stuff on this site.  I learned a ton about the X's and O's of football from you and then you seemed to just stop.

Let's not ignore the fact that the stories were corraborated by 8 former players and even a few former coaches.  That's not random receipts and pictures.

Also, the guy further proves he doesn't know what he is talking about by saying Miami isn't a repeat violator.  He says that the last football violations are too far away, which is true (I think).  However, the rule does not require the repeat violation to be in the same sport.  Miama was recently sanctioned in baseball.  We all remember that danger of repeat violation status for stretch gate over the Ed Martin stuff, obviously different sports.

I have to agree with above poster.  I will never understand why fans spend so much time on another teams board.  No offense Irish, but I just don't get it.

Blue and South Bend and I have to go to a buddy's wedding on opening weekend.  Not only am I pissed to not get to see Michigan's new look, but I just like seeing games all day in general the first weekend.

This game is really good I think.  My main complaint is it seems too easy to throw the ball deep.  Even on Heisman, if you just call four verticals everytime there is almost always someone open.  The safeties don't turn and run when someone is going deep nearly fast enough.

I say coupling this with our dominance of MI and the affect that has on MSU and I'd say things are looking up.

The only reason I watched this is because I thought it would include highlight videos and at least get me pumped for the season.  I didn't know it was just going to be that guy sitting in his mom's basement talking to himself.

You can modify the rosters and then you have to download them onto your PS3 in the game.

EDIT:  Actually now that I think about it, you can only create teams.  I think you can use Michigan's roster as your base for your "created team" but then you'd have to try to perfectly make Michigan the rest of the way for color's and such and that would be annoying.  Probably better to wait until you get the game.

Also, Hopkins has lower break tackle than Shaw

11 is a lot better.  I didn't care for the new controls and used the old, but the game is still better.  There are so many more types of hits in this game.  I years past it was either ground ball through the infield or a home run.  A solid liner for a single never happened before, and in this year it does.  The depth of the types of hits in this years game is what makes it better.

I don't know, the article says Michigan allows their compliance officers to drive these kind of cars.  I don't know if this is a big deal.

Maybe, but when you are talking about former players the NCAA can't do anything to them.  They can't "fry."  So why does Antonio Pittman come out on twitter and make his comments.  He isn't saving himself, and he's a had a lot of attention.  Surely the little bit of attention he gets from that tweet isn't worth betraying all of your friends and your alumni support system when you are looking for a job, right?

This is exactly what I thought.  That SI story is supposed to come out tomorrow, very telling.  I can't wait to read it.

The game never cares about records from last year, they never do.  Hence, Penn St and Texas.  They basically just roll over their player ratings from last year and increase them a bit, so since they had those teams highly rated last year they will be good last year despite on the field indications they aren't as good as EA thought they were.

I went to HS with him so I know this well.  He got in the very first game of the year. Henne was struggling and he got one series, short hopped a wide open guy on third and medium, and then came out.  He also got in garbage time a few times.  He then left, played baseball, and now starts for the Padres.

Interesting fun fact, Clayton was on the top 10 plays on SC because he played in a HS homerun derby and busted out the window of a moving car on one of his HR's.

Very interesting.  Not only are a lot of our commits not on there but a lot of guys we think are Michigan leans (Wormely, Diamond, etc) are not on there.  Maybe Hoke isn't dominating recruiting quite like we thought, I don't know.

I was on campus that day, you didn't need a weather report.  It was so insanely windy, as soon as you stepped outside you should have known a scissor lift was a bad idea.  No weather report needed, just common sense.

I think you are right.  Yes, that was a Lloyd Carr style of game, but not for the same reasons.  Carr never opened it up, even when he had better talent.  And again, I agree that the only time we saw Carr cut it open was against Florida in his last game.  Carr played that way ALL the time, it wasn't a strategy for a particular game.  Red, on the other hand, employed Carr ball for one game.  There is definitely a difference.

That being said, I enjoyed the read, it was well written.

This is probably the third article saying "OSU recommended a five game suspension." 

Um, no...actually they didn't.  OSU recommended a two game suspension, and when it hit the fan in the media Jim Tressel recommended he be suspended five games.  The OSU administration has consistently shown zero concern with what happened and was a part of the cover up.  Saying the school recommended the five game penalty is close to lying.

A lot of these kids who score poorly aren't necessarily dumb, they just don't have to do anything in school.  They never learned a thing from high school to college because they were start athletes.  They often times are smart enough to pick up football schemes, they just didn't learn algebra.  (not that there is algebra on the wonderlic I'm jus sayin)

This is one of the best pieces I have ever read.  First, he completely dismantles Tressel's BS.  The confidentiality request was so tiny, so insignificant, that to hide behind it is insane.  To say he couldn't suspend the players because it would arouse suspicion to the investigation, why not do the "violation of team rules" penalty.  The article just dismantles all of his "defenses" in an epic way.

Furthermore, to write this in an Ohio paper, I mean wow.  This guy has balls that most men only talk about.  Seriously, bravo to this dude.

Wow, that does not make it seem like it was super confidential.  JT tried to make it sound like it was this huge confidential investigation and he had to keep it quiet for that.  That guy barely even mentions confidentiality, and when he does it is not in the first email.  In fact, the guy seems to be more concerned about the confidentiallity of the players and how they would get in trouble then he does with the drug dealer.  The overall tone of those emails is definitely trying to keep those kids from getting in trouble, and not about some confidential federal investigation.  This was a cover up from JT from day one, anyone who claims otherwise is completely ignorant.

Because players who enroll early can count back as a part of last years class.  Also, a lot of the kids they "sign" never "qualify" or some other bogus reason.  Meaning they sign a 3 star, late in the process get a 4 star, and now the 3 star won't qualify academically all of a sudden right before school starts...magic.

Why can't people present legitimate opinions and criticisms of the coach?  You can disagree with the OP, that's fine, but don't do things like insult his intelligence or basketball knowledge.  And don't neg him just because you disagree with him or think he is wrong.  There is no reason to do that.  It just encourages "group think."  If the poster is being outlandish or rude about the coach or whatever he is criticizing, then fine, but I hate when you can't critique anything about Michigan without it causing a sh** storm.

He's not dumb, he knows you all tuned in today to hear him.  So he got hits today.  And now you will all tune in to hear him tomorrow since he didn't speak today, he got twice the hits.

I like his emphasis that S&C goes beyond just getting stronger.  He wants those kids to get a work out on their mental toughness and focus as well, which working out can certainly do.

If a good option doesn't step up, we have to have Troy at FS not CB.  I would rather have him at CB if we can, but FS is too important if we don't have another suitable option back there.  Look at how much worse the D got 2 years ago when we moved him from FS to CB.  You give up sooooo many big plays without a good FS.

Explain to me why he gets a pass for a lack of talent and having youth when he is in his 4th year?  I don't get that at all.  He is entirely responsible for how young the team is.  I wasn't expecting more out of this particular team, I was expecting more out of JB to what this team would be composed of this year.  And don't make blanket statements about other peoples level of knowledge.  You have no idea who I am, what I do, and what my basketball experience level is.  If you want to disagree with my assesment fine, but that doesn't mean I know nothing about basketball.

Have you seen him play?  He's an average player who has potential but is not a lock to be a good one.  He has some of the worst shot selection of any player i've ever seen at Michigan.  He takes shots with 25 seconds left on the clock that you could get with 1 second left.  He can't dribble with his left hand hardly at all.  If he takes three or 4 hard dribbles with his left, he loses or almost loses it.  Again, he's an ok player, but he only looks good compared to other Michigan players.

Thank you.  People completely confuse football and basketball recruiting.  In football, you play 22 guys plus special teams, so you need a lot more bodies.  Top 100 players means something because there are so many different positions.  Basketball, the numbers go way down and top 100 isn't nearly as impressive.  Just look at the team recruiting rankings in basketball.

Morris is a good player, I don't disagree with that, my point is we have zero elite players.  His complete lack of an outside shot really limits his level of play.  He could be unstopable with his size at point if he could shoot even average.

I will say that there are tons of kids who hate law school and hate the idea of practicing law after going thorugh law school. 

But not every job sucks.  If you work at a big firm in Chicago/New York/D.C. etc, then yea you are going to work a billion hours.  I work in a midsize city and at my firm no one is at there desk past 530 except on rare occasions.  The hours aren't that bad at all, 50 hours a week probably.  If you like legal work, you don't have to sell your soul and never see your family to do it.

Yes, he threw for over 2k yards and had a lot of stats as a QB in a spread system.  That doesn't mean he will have similar success in a pro-style system.  Look at the numbers all the QB's for Tech had over the years.  How many of them had any success in the NFL in a pro system?  Zero.  The system matters. 

Is Denard best at QB if we don't run the spread though?  I have my doubts.  He is a superb spread QB, but if they start running a more traditional offense I don't know if he is the best QB anymore.  Also, his best shot at the pros probably is at another position.  I really hope he stays because he is an incredible athlete and weapon no matter where he plays, but I honestly don't know if he is our best option at QB if we aren't running the spread.

Absurd? I want our players to be respectful to their coach. I'm not on here taking shots at his game or his effort, but slapping the coaches hand away is disrespectful and shouldn't happen. And despite what other people on here say, I don't like him talking so much crap. It looked like Craft was in his head if you ask me. I want him fired up and passionate, but that doesn't have to carry over into poor sportsmanship. It doesn't have to carry over into him staring Lighty down after Darius made a layup and then walking past the team huddle to chirp some more at Lighty and have Bartlestein (sp?) have to go get him and bring him back to the huddle. Those kind of things have no place in the game if you ask me and aren't the kind of things I want representing the team. Again, I want fire, I want passion, but those things aren't necessary in order to have that.

As a former teenage boy, I can tell you that all teenage boys are idiots.  You will agree when you are no longer one.  I was told this as a teenager and it angered me.  Now, as I realize its truth, I pass it on.

yanno, I've been saying the same thing for 3 years, but maybe we can't anymore.  Sure, the plays are there and the players are missing open receivers, dropping passes, fumbling, etc., but they've been doing it for 3 years.  1 game, maybe 1 season, you can say bad plays buy the guys on the field.  But at some point, is the coaching staff not responsible for teaching better ball security, better concentration on catches, etc?  I think the staff has to be held some what accountable for the epidemic that has been our turnover problem.
