A quick peek at Michigan's roster showed 20 of 31 players are Freshman or Sophomore. I admit to not following NCAA baseball closely but does this show good things to come for Michigan in 2+ years? 

Surprised I liked the schedule so much. Having BC, BU, and U-Mass Lowell come to Yost and still playing Ferris, and now getting to add a home weekend with Michigan Tech is great. Plus a chance to possibly play Wester in the GLI, this means Michigan could play all the major Michigan schools (outside Northern, and LSSU) while moving to the B1G. 

I also think the away weekend in New Hampshire early in the season will help the team grow and test themselves early in the season. 

If you watch the video, the drug use is pretty wide spread and in your face... I know "it's just pot" but either way I don't think any school wants that type of publicity.  His attitude (or persona) doesn't show a willines to stop the drug use either.

Sadly Sirius is taking a major turn towards the worse. Scott Ferrall left Howard 101 and now is with CBS Sports Radio. He had the most entertaining sports talk show on sirius.

What comes first chicken or the egg? Do you get a new arena hoping to attract better players and better fan base, or do you try and get a quality product on the ice and hope people come out to see a top team? 

I agree that trying to play at Value City Arena isn't ideal especially for non-traditional hockey market. Like you said 4,000-6,000 seats would be ideal. Even teams like Minnesota (10,000) and North Dakota (11,634) don't play in that sized arena.

Personally I do think switching to Nike would be a good idea, but I'm also not opposed to others.  My biggest complaint is the poor quality and what appears to be terrible "customer service" Adidas provides.  I highly doubt Nike/Under Armour/ etc would allow a team to have to wear last years jerseys due to not being able to provide them with replacements for damaged uniforms. ESPECIALLY AFTER 10+ weeks

As a ManU Fan I couldn't agree more. I knew coming in the back 4 would be a concern. The bigger problem is Rafael has to be substituted (can't risk a second yellow), and the midfield has not been able to keep more of the ball, leaving the majority of play to be in Real's attacking half.

Scoring at impressive rate, have RVP/Rooney/Welbeck/Chicharito. However, their backline has struggled all season, and are without Vidic today.

You are combining two stories from this years X-games.  The "runaway" snowmobile was Jackson Strong's sled, when his clutch got stuck and sent the sled towards the spectators.  Caleb Moore was injured on the clip below.  

Also, Caleb (and his brother) have been in the X-games for 4 years. Yes originally they had no experience on snow, being from Texas, and were 4-wheel stunt drivers.  But in the past 4 years they have plenty of experinece.

With roughly $6.77 million left in cap space after the Lashoff call up and Huskins signing, I think you can affored him.  Plus where else would the Wings spend their money.  Subban is obviously the best defensema available.

Both brothers are actually playing for Belleville this season.  Malcolm was draft elgible last season and was selected in the 1st Round by Boston.  Jordan (who played tonight) is a defenseman who is draft elgible in the 2013 Entry Draft in June.

Millen took over a 9-7 team and turned them into a 2-14 and then ultimately 0-16.  Cherry is opinionated, and doesn't always have sound rational, but the comparison to Millen is unfair.  Cherry had success regardless of the talent he was given, Millen never did.

Stayed in school, got his degree. Went and played just enough time in the NFL to get his pension and then moved on. I don't see why "average" NFL players try so hard to hang on to the league, when if they were smart with their money from the start they wouldn't need to.

One of the best officials Shegos "retired" from officiating.  I know him personally and he was tired of the politics of everything.  Especially prior to CCHA officially folding.  I think conferences will strong arm some officials to pick between B1G, NCHC, and possibly WCHA. 

I should have added "Per Tremendous" to my response. That was the reasoning given by Tremendous as to why him and Kyle Bosch are both not in All-Star games.

Team USA played it's best period of hockey of the tournament.  Taking nothing away from yesterday's destruction of the Czechs, but so far they really controlled the puck, won battles, and out chanced team Canada 2-1 in the 1st Period.

Hoke and Company don't seem like the types to coddle and placate to a recruit.  WR's are histroically "divas" and especially elite talent types.  I'm sure other schools are much better as ass-kissing, which probably sounds great to an 18 year old.

I saw Kenny Allen kick in high school and the kid can really boom the ball. He is a really big kid (compared to what you see in most punters/kickers).  I believe he is listed at 6'3" and 205 which sounds about right.

No I'm saying if they are taking a 6th OL commit because Lewan is leaving, than they should have known all along they would be taking that many.  Turning away the talent they did early because "They were only taking 5 OL" should have factored in Lewan leaving from the start.

In their rankings the Joe got killed for "access" which is pretty terrible. Also on "return on investment" and "extras" the Joe is much lower than the college arenas. 

Are you calling them the Yankees because of the amount of titles they have won? Or because you think they outspend everyone?  If it's about the titles what fan wouldn't want the team they follow to be great? Doesn't the fact that Michigan is the winningest program in NCAA history provide a point of pride for our fan base? 

If you are talking about out spending teams, if you called them the Detroit Tigers (who are top 5 in spending much like United) would you have the negative connotations you tried to imply? 

One of the best parts of the football ones was the inclusion of the schedule. It's always there to remind you of games especially useful in basketball where games aren't same day every week.

If the coaches poll is any indication... Northern Illinois is about to make the BCS.  Enough teams feel, and they are ranked #16 which would be an automatic bid into the BCS because they are ranked ahead of the BigEast Champ (Louisville).

I do like the idea of playing S.Carolina especially since they are without Lattimore. Rather than play the Georgia team that looked like the second best team in the nation last night.

Looks like Red is trying to whatever he can to create some leadership on this team.  Yes there are some high-profile recruits that came in, but some of the older more experienced guys need to step up and show them the way.  Coming from Juniors/USNTDP where you play multiple times a week vs playing two times on a weekend (where teams spend 5 days scouting you) is a different beast.

Best thing that could happen is a player like Lynch or Moffie tear into some of the guys not performing.  

I know the goaltending has been a hot topic, and hasn't been anywhere near where it needs to be... HOWEVER, tonight Michigan gave up 17 shots in the second period, thats bad team play.

Home and Home vs Georgia.  Would love to see Michigan back in Athens.  

Closer than this for most of the game... Think Bradley will score with Michigan for the first half.

Has there been much thought into what a switch to a left-handed QB and its affect on the OL? Meaning the RT position becomes more imporant  than LT, and vice versa across the line.  Should we expect a good amount of "switching sides" once Shane becomes a starter?

Tremendous was able to get ahold of him, and asked the Oregon question.  Conley provided no answer. So take it FWIW but at least for now he's in the class.

Noticed that also, according the their website they do not have a hockey team.  Also hockey was not one of the 7 sports that they were forced to cut.  Intersting nontheless.

Honestly that 3 seed would have made Michigan the #9 team in the country... Could be higher.  You have to remember the selection committee likes to reward top teams with games closer to home.  I would rather Michigan be the 3 seed in Auburn Hills than the 2 seed in say Austin Tx or Philly.

I was simply trying to say that it is the best attempt at a traditional leather helmet I had ever seen.  It seemed to pull off the look better than the previous attemps (Green Bay last season).

As a Fenton grad I feel the same way.  I know the team has been very good all season, but stepping up in talent in a big way vs Harrison.

It's surely an upgrade from O$U or other lame attempts people tend to use.

Wasn't so much talking about the rain.  However, this field is a cricket stadium field.  I don't know if they never "roll" cricket fields but the ball was bouncing all over the place.  I can imagine with that many ruts, or bumbs it would have been very easy to catch a cleat when sliding, or going in for a tackle.
