Since players are generally larger than when the two decimal digit standard was imposed; perhaps we're ready to move to three digit numbers. Perhaps Mr O'Korn would like #555.
Or, perhaps we're ready to advance to hexadecimal: #A5 for you, Mr O'Korn?
I could support either of these proposals, but together they seem to be overkill. Of course, the combination would have allowed Ruddock to wear #DAD.

I grew up in Pennsylvania, have been to State College a dozen times, but yesterday was the my first gameday experience. My wife and I were wearing maize and blue and _every_ interaction we had with PSU fans was positive. There was grumbling about some PI calls (wtf, every call should go your way?), but fans will be fans. I had several Penn State fans tell me to crush Ohio State next week (of course, I was telling them we'd be rooting for them next week).
Ice Cream from the Creamery on campus is delicious, and we met the Glascow brothers' grandparents there! All in all, a fun trip.

|14 weeks 11 hours ago||Okay,||
people over 40 can have eyesight, video skills and judgement just as good as people under 40. Mike Pereira was born in 1950, so he's older than both of us. There should be some objective screening of replay officials which involves candidates not currently considered.
I would not qualify, because I could never be completely objective about college football teams.
|14 weeks 13 hours ago||The targeting rule has problems,||
and these problems should be addressed.
But there is another problem, the replay officials in the booth need an upgrade, too. Often these replay officials are older refs who can no longer run up and down the field. I not sure they've watched too many games on tv this century, or are comfortable with the technology. Get some neutral observers in their late 20s / early 30s; they don't need to be on the site of the game. Mike Pereira always seems to get the calls correct (meaning I agree with him) when consulting on Fox. It is possible.

it's great to be able to see every Michigan game in HD, and clearly there's no going back.
We had Bob Ufer on radio; in many ways that was better than a modern telecast with "neutral" announcers. If you had ever seen a game in Michigan Stadium, you could picture the action as Ufer described it: "Two tight ends and a balanced line, Huckelby deep, Davis close, Ricky Leach under center, the ball resting 18 yards in, from this, the western sideline."

|15 weeks 1 day ago||Visiting team effect?||
You can count on a certain number of opponent fans who either live in the area or choose to travel to Ann Arbor. Seattle is a long way to travel for a game, especially when you consider the cost of air travel in 1969. But the next week attendence for Missouri was 64,476, just under 15,000 more than for the Huskies.
It wasn't weather, high temperature at Detroit metro was 69 degrees, no precipitation.
Possibly band day, which was usually the 2nd home game of the season, IIRC. Perhaps the high school band members and their chaperones weren't counted?

|15 weeks 1 day ago||Season Tickets influence||
It would be interesting to see the season ticket sales numbers, and not just attendence. It was the demand for season tickets in the early 70s which ended Band Day; Canham couldn't withold 30,000 seats for high school bandsmen after Bo got things rolling.
Before 1970, I think the size of the stadium itself was a factor, tickets had been plentiful for 20 years. You could wait and see what the weather was like and drive to the stadium if you liked the matchup. Once tickets got tight, fans (no longer just students, faculty and alumni) began to plan ahead and made the committment season tickets. Canham and Schembechler changed the gameday experience, attendance-wise.
And Boones Farm was sooooo terrible, it might have been recycled wine.

I do have one question: the article says 350 positions is 4.3 of ESPN's workforce, which implies a total workforce of 8139. Over 8000 people work at ESPN?
8000 people, seriously? I'd nominate the Competitive Eating and the ESPY award teams for termination, but that's just my opinion.

subtracting the 5 players from Rutgers and Maryland who never actually played in a Big Ten game would be more realistic.

be expected to know anything about Colts?
|1 year 3 weeks ago||Well,||
how good is their onside kick recovery team.
It needs to be pretty good, and the Colts need to start scoring.

his predatory parents had his wages direct-deposited into an account they controlled, and told him they were paying his bills so that he could concentrate on what he loves and does best, playing hockey. That's usually how these scams work, more typically on a trusting parent than a child.
Sad. This shit happens to child actors all too often.

I can't stop laughing at him long enough to listen to anything he says.
Maybe next August, but not now. Not after his adamant coaching change rumor/bullshit schtick.

Expectations are a squirrel cage.
|1 year 9 weeks ago||You've nailed it.||
Cowherd revels in put-downs of "homers" who fail to be objective about their teams and coaches. But for at least seven years after Superbowl XL he was complaining about the calls his Seahawks.
Audio clickbait (with video on simulcast) defines the "herd".

you're probably correct, sadly.
Over time, Dantonio goes to the NFL and MSU returns to the mean. UM recovers it rightful place.
With Penn State and Nebraska in the B1G, and stronger Wiscpnsin and Iowa, it's highly unlikely that two teams will dominate the conference for a decade like the 1970s.
