Date Title Body
3 hours 32 min ago Retrospect

This is doubly interesting in retrospect, seeing how all of their careers turned out.

1 day 10 hours ago I vote

Ninja Gallon.

1 day 10 hours ago I like it

But it also means that Hoke and co have a lot to live up to.  Historically, Michigan's generally done better when they were ranked lower, or when nobody really expected much of them.

It does mean that the rebuilding days are over.  No more of the "we're three years away" phrase that we've been using since 2008.  The next couple years will determine Hoke's legacy and where he'll stand in Michigan history.  Does he live up to the hype that ESPN and the others are gifting us, or does Michigan join the ranks of the perpetually overrated?

2 days 15 hours ago I was very disappointed

As a plot twist, I wanted Russell Crowe to turn into Batman in the end.

3 days 10 hours ago Interesting fact

Oh, the mob mentality.

1 week 12 hours ago If she's accepted to Harvard

If she's accepted to Harvard, she should go.  End of story.

1 week 1 day ago Not what I meant

I meant that when people think of U of M, they generally forget North Campus.  I was amused that that seems to be the case here.

1 week 1 day ago Clearly

They excluded North Campus.

That's okay though, because North Campus is inherently exclusionary.

2 weeks 6 days ago Did it work?

Inquiring minds want to know.

3 weeks 3 hours ago Fact is

He was roughly ten times more productive than the rest of our backfield combined.  I mean, you can't NOT put him at running back.

3 weeks 3 hours ago Well

I guess I joined after this points system changed.  So I've never known it any other way.  The old way sounds exciting.

3 weeks 2 days ago Depends

Depends on how good Cleary is, which, let's face it, only the coaches know.

3 weeks 3 days ago Well great.

Now I want cake.

4 weeks 5 days ago Wait wait wait

I don't understand.  How can they make a BCS bowl when they have a guaranteed loss on September 7?

5 weeks 1 day ago But Seth

But Seth, if we give Gallon the #1 jersey and draw attention to him, does that counteract the cloaking device?

6 weeks 5 hours ago SIERRA ROMERO!

FUCK YEAH!

(She was in my English class, so I'm biased.)

6 weeks 1 day ago SWEET

SUPER BOWL BABEH

...right?

6 weeks 5 days ago Sad face

There's something very unnatural about seeing him in a #29 jersey.

7 weeks 1 day ago Anecdote

When I was younger I loved John Navarre, so I got a #16 jersey in an adult size that was hilariously large on me.  Nowadays it fits just fine and it also came in handy as another #16 made his magic happen.

7 weeks 4 days ago What do the Jets have now?

What do the Jets have now, six quarterbacks?

7 weeks 5 days ago Let's not limit it to players

Ufer, Revelli, Lloyd...

For M you could probably just do a big block M.  I mean, you can't not include it.

7 weeks 6 days ago On the other hand

If they lose Brady, they still have Belichik.  One is as important as the other.

7 weeks 6 days ago Or

until we see a scan of his collarbone.

7 weeks 6 days ago So

Does this mean that we're in for four years of "Mo Ways" puns whenever he scores or does anything, really?

8 weeks 2 hours ago Agreed

Probably one of the few instances where the player was more effective in real life than he'd be in the video game.

8 weeks 8 hours ago Cum.

They're talking about sex.

8 weeks 11 hours ago DONUTS?!

I'm there.

8 weeks 1 day ago Is that what you think we look like?

Because let me tell you, literally the only people who care about Michigan fans not showing up to games are other Michigan fans.

8 weeks 1 day ago Gonna have to disagree

As a student, I love being part of the Maize Out.  The fact that you can instantly tell where the student section is from any picture of the Big House is pretty cool.

8 weeks 2 days ago He's a froshy, though

Next time we see him he'll probably have shot up about six inches.

8 weeks 3 days ago Director's Cup

Distinct possibility after all, then?

8 weeks 3 days ago No

To my knowledge, basketball players can't jump directly from high school to the NBA anymore.

8 weeks 6 days ago Don't laugh too hard.

As the key to any strength and conditioning program lies in the heart of recovery, cold showers or baths are a useful tool.  Athletes in the Eastern Bloc were very fond of the contrast bath method, where they would submerge themselves in hot water for one minute and transfer immediately afterwards to a tub of cold water, repeating the cycle as necessary.  Crazy, but it works.  This is also why many D1 football players take ice baths after practice.  The sooner, the better.

8 weeks 6 days ago Well

There always seems to be some new building or other going up on North Campus, so there'll be no shortage of buildings that need names.

9 weeks 1 day ago WOO!

GO SIERRA!

9 weeks 1 day ago I got this email

and I swear I got another one like it last year too.  Or sometime in the recent-ish past.

9 weeks 1 day ago Just sayin'

If we didn't lose a single home game for all my undergrad years, I'd be okay with that.

9 weeks 1 day ago Shazor better than Kovacs?!

BLASPHEMY!

9 weeks 1 day ago Sad news, though unsurprising.

I liked watching them play for the past few years.  Nice knowing you, Oregon.

9 weeks 2 days ago Okay...

...who the fuck IS that?

Very appropriate caption.

9 weeks 5 days ago Probably unhelpful for the majority, but

Whenever my parents came down for gamedays or what have you, I told them to avoid Central Campus like the plague.  So they'd park up near the School of Music and then bus down with me to the stadium.  Guaranteed free parking, little hassle, and easy to get out of as well.

Of course, I wouldn't really recommend that to anyone not familiar with North Campus, as it'd be ridiculously easy to get lost.

9 weeks 5 days ago Real men

Real men, like Elliott Mealer, need no cream or water to shave.  They chop their beards off with axes and laugh at the foolish mortals watching in awe.

9 weeks 6 days ago Well

Well at least we beat Penn State in something.

10 weeks 15 hours ago Nope

Maxis developed, EA published.

10 weeks 1 day ago Not so

They published The Sims, so they'll always have a special place in my heart for that.

10 weeks 1 day ago OMG guyz

New alternates!

10 weeks 1 day ago It's true

Sometimes after a loss one might go crazy, blame everybody, call for someone's head, be generally mad at the world.  Last night wasn't like that for me and it hasn't been like that for a lot of people from what I can tell.  Afterwards people talked of what a great season it had been and what a game it was.  That's not always the case.  Last night was something very special, and as a Wolverine, win or lose, it was incredible to be a part of.

10 weeks 1 day ago Refs

Refs weren't as bad as everyone's been saying.  The Burke block was unfortunate.  Other than that, they were fine.  We got a lot of calls our way mid-second-half.

On an unrelated note, Burke really gave his body to the game.  How many times did his face eat the ground?

10 weeks 2 days ago Aww.

Poor nut.

10 weeks 2 days ago God says

The Lord tells me he can get Louisville out of this mess, but he's pretty sure Michigan's fooked.

10 weeks 2 days ago This is like...

...textbook charge.  Not sure how anybody sees it otherwise.

10 weeks 2 days ago I'm just saying

Whether you're for or against a Fab Five reunion, let me just say: if I'm a kid on the current team and I hear there's a chance that one of the greatest Michigan basketball teams of all time will be there congratulating us when we win... well, I'm gonna be pretty damn excited, controversy or no.

10 weeks 3 days ago Hoi.

Go back to the part where his name is Otto the Orange...?

10 weeks 3 days ago Yeah...

A couple of my Facebook friends gleefully posted pictures of said couch burnings.  I was somewhat dismayed.

10 weeks 3 days ago Well good.

We do our best work when we're not favored.

10 weeks 4 days ago Charge

You can defend the call as a charge much more than you can defend it as a block.  Therefore, charge.

10 weeks 4 days ago If anyone's watching the post game

There are a lot of questions being asked about the officiating and Jim Boeheim is being hilariously sassy with his answers.

10 weeks 4 days ago If anyone's watching the post game

There are a lot of questions being asked about the officiating and Jim Boeheim is being hilariously sassy with his answers.

10 weeks 4 days ago Well

I don't know about pot smoke, but there's a lovely cloud of normal smoke descending upon the Northwood area right now.  Anybody know if North Campus is on fire?

10 weeks 5 days ago But but but

They haven't given up a point since JANUARY OF 2010.  A guy on the Internet said so.

10 weeks 5 days ago Cool story bro

Sierra Romero's in my English class.  She told us Monday that she made the junior national team, which is awesome.  Great to hear she's doing well.

</coolstorybro>

10 weeks 5 days ago Almost forgot

I remember reading his story in August or so, and they were saying that a team was probably going to sign him sooner or later.  Great to hear his life has finally turned around so much.

10 weeks 5 days ago Possibly

September 1, 2007?

10 weeks 6 days ago Geez, Devin

Geez, Devin, don't celebrate so hard with the younger guys.  You might accidentally knock one of them out someday.

10 weeks 6 days ago On a related note

Monday night I had a dream that I woke up and Michigan had lost to Syracuse.  I was sad that we lost but also seriously miffed because the sports world had promised me that it would take place on Saturday, and I'd missed it.  It felt so very real.

I've consulted a number of witches and wise men and gazed into the crystal time and again, but I am unsure of what it means.  Are we now guaranteed to win, or lose?

10 weeks 6 days ago Makes me sad.

He's been the Lions kicker for longer than I've been alive.  It'll be so strange seeing someone else kick for them.

11 weeks 6 hours ago It's a dream school

unless you're an introvert who got stuck on North Campus, in which case the dream takes a while to materialize.

11 weeks 1 day ago Guile's Theme Goes With Everything

11 weeks 1 day ago Cool.

Now get Burke too, and that will make my year.

11 weeks 1 day ago I mean

Is doing it as a precalculated idea really that much better?

11 weeks 2 days ago Meanwhile

Meanwhile, I'm transferring from Engineering to LSA, also for CS.  May your stint in the CoE be many times more productive than mine.

And of course, congrats!  It's always great to be a Michigan Wolverine.

11 weeks 2 days ago F*CK YEAH

I was waiting for this all weekend.

11 weeks 3 days ago All else aside

Spike scoring twice in like three seconds was AWESOME.

In other news, transition buckets = money, especially when you can throw no-look passes around like whoa.

11 weeks 3 days ago Good god.

That is truly horrific.  I hope he can play again.

11 weeks 3 days ago I mean

We killed them in both, but today we didn't almost give it up late.  So this game.

11 weeks 3 days ago IT'S GREAT

TO BE

A MEEEESHIGAN WOLVERINE

11 weeks 4 days ago Guys

I cannot WAIT to see this week in gifs.  There were so many awesome giffable moments in this game.

11 weeks 4 days ago .

I was at UTL so I'll always be biased in favor of that.

Then again, this game was the first Michigan basketball game I'd watched beginning to end that we won, so it was nice to break that curse.

11 weeks 5 days ago Hmmm.

One might say... tremendous?

12 weeks 5 hours ago Sniff sniff

Onions, dusty room, etc.

12 weeks 10 hours ago Borges

However much I complained about Borges during the regular season, I can't deny that I love listening to him talk.

12 weeks 1 day ago I made no bracket this year.

Last year I caved to peer pressure and created a bracket, but just to be contrary I had us going out in the first round.

Needless to say, I have not blasphemied since.

12 weeks 1 day ago Eh.

Being favored makes me nervous whether it's football or basketball, whether we're horrendous or #1.

12 weeks 1 day ago Also a heartbreaker.

Those were a rough few weeks for the team.  It wasn't really until the fourth quarter of the Minnesota game that they got their heads on straight again.

12 weeks 2 days ago Hulk

Hulk would be the Avengers, not the Justice League.  Get yo' comic heroes straight.

13 weeks 12 hours ago It's cool.

I'm still gonna root for them in their game.  Big brother is understanding in that way.

13 weeks 12 hours ago Shit. SHIT.

Shit.  SHIT.

13 weeks 1 day ago Love it

The picture of your kid with the football and oversized football helmet is adorable.  Congrats, mate.

13 weeks 2 days ago Heh.

I remember the day I discovered that not everyone in America was a Michigan fan.  We were in Florida and there were no John Navarre jerseys to be found in stores anywhere.  It was that day I learned what regional sports were.

13 weeks 2 days ago Minority view, maybe

Minority view, maybe, but I root for State when they're not playing Michigan.  *Shrug*

13 weeks 2 days ago Well

Well, I damn well don't have them going out in the first round again, that's for sure.

13 weeks 3 days ago It's a trap!

Trick question.  They are all fact.

13 weeks 4 days ago Good stuff.

I hope this is but the first of many Devin-to-Devin connections that we see.

13 weeks 5 days ago On the bright side

it's nice to be leading instead of playing from behind for once.

13 weeks 6 days ago Bellomy

I like that he gave Bellomy a shout-out.  Unexpected, but nice.  He's not one to throw players under the bus, that's for sure.

14 weeks 16 hours ago O-line

I doubt the O-Line is going to set the world on fire, since the spring practice is a glorified open scrimmage/practice.  So don't get too excited.

14 weeks 1 day ago Awesome

Awesome, good for him.  Now that he's on the cover and everyone knows what he looks like, can EA include his dreads in the game this time?

15 weeks 4 days ago Eh

Pretty sure it's just unfortunate lighting.

15 weeks 5 days ago Hmm.

This seems oddly specific.

15 weeks 6 days ago 2011

2011, now that was supposed to be the start of something new and grand.  Hoke came in and magicked the team to a BCS bowl.  The basketball team suddenly started winning and made it to the playoffs for the first time in ever, sharing the B1G championship along the way.  Fate had smiled upon us.  Things were turning around.  The arenas and stadiums were rocking as they hadn't for years.

Then suddenly this year happened.  Neither the football nor basketball teams it seems could win when it mattered.  Even hockey fell.

So yeah.  We were there, and then we lost a step somewhere along the way.  Hard to say where.

Ah, whatever.  It's great to be a Michigan Wolverine.

15 weeks 6 days ago Well.

We lost to OSU this year, exactly because our offense didn't work.  Should probably find something else to say as well.

16 weeks 3 hours ago The world is ending

and I'm getting drunk.  Fuck my exam.

16 weeks 3 hours ago Shit. SHIT.

Shit.  SHIT.

16 weeks 2 days ago Damn

Damn, I was 98 pounds in 8th grade.

16 weeks 4 days ago Sometimes

Sometimes I look at Michigan's recent games and worry.  Then I remember that Michigan never loses at home.  Ever.

16 weeks 6 days ago Similar story

I spent my whole life in Michigan, then went to school in California for a bit while keeping Michigan as my permanent residence.  Took months to sort out even though I was living in Michigan at the time of my application.

16 weeks 6 days ago Dude

I'll laugh like a hyena if this proves to be true.

17 weeks 2 days ago Idea

Give them the dorms.  Meanwhile, the students clear off to Florida for the weekend, bringing with them all their prize possessions.  Classes cancelled Monday.  Everyone parties.  Whattaya think?

17 weeks 2 days ago Lots of hate in this thread.

Lots of hate in this thread.  The prevailing theme seems to be that it's beneath us to allow these dirty immature WWE fans into our totally pure and clean Ann Arbor and loan to them our crown jewel, the Big House, which has NEVER seen a rowdy crowd or a drunk person.  Ever.

I get where it's coming from, kinda, but really, we have a kickass stadium - the biggest in the US - and it only gets used a single-digit number of times per year, and not at all for the majority of the year.  I really don't see it being as big a problem as others seem to.

17 weeks 3 days ago Hmm.

Think he'll still be able to dunk at 100?

17 weeks 4 days ago Well

Everyone's covered the basics (UTL, Ohio State 2011, Penn State, etc), so I'll add my first trip to the Big House - 2002 against Western Michigan.  This was one week after Phillip Brabbs and Washington happened, not that I knew it at the time.  For me, a wide-eyed nine-year-old in a dorkishly big Michigan hat, walking into that gigantic stadium with all those people was just incredible.  Some things you just don't forget.

17 weeks 5 days ago ...huh.

Interesting...

17 weeks 5 days ago Hmph.

This damn well better not be the surprise everyone keeps talking about.

17 weeks 6 days ago Nope

We stopped the clock at 1 second with an incomplete pass, not a spike.  The rule wouldn't apply in that case.

18 weeks 8 hours ago ...

...so now they'll paint their field orange instead, I suppose?

18 weeks 1 day ago Lloyd

I didn't realize Lloyd Carr was with Hoke at the game.  Makes it worse, somehow.

18 weeks 1 day ago Ah yes

I was wondering when the "we are still a year or two away" comments would show up.

18 weeks 2 days ago At my boarding school

Sometimes, the night before big rivalry games, we ran around campus naked, screaming like Neanderthals.

18 weeks 4 days ago /s

Possible sarcasm?

19 weeks 1 day ago Nice place.

Wish Michigan's facilities were open to everyone.

19 weeks 5 days ago Heh.

Well shit, we'd better not lose then.  That would be embarrassing.

Maybe the team actually likes wearing them?

19 weeks 6 days ago Just sayin'.

20 weeks 22 min ago Welp.

Meanwhile, Bo rolls over in his grave.

20 weeks 3 hours ago Actually

Actually, me too.  After Ben Wallace left and that whole lineup sort of drifted apart, I lost interest.

20 weeks 9 hours ago Untrue

Rich Rod cared deeply about every player on the roster, starter or star or no.  The defense quote went along the lines of "You could get Vince Lombardi in here and it wouldn't fix some of the problems we have on defense," referring to the lack of experience and leadership on that side of the ball, compounded by the fact that the defensive coordinator was being asked to run a scheme he'd never run before.  The RR era may not have ended well at Michigan, but don't spread falsehoods about the man.

20 weeks 1 day ago Right

I was wondering this as well.  You can't pay just football players and ignore every other sport.  I know football is placed on a higher pedestal than most other things, but that's a step too far.

20 weeks 2 days ago I'd be down.

Umich rugby needs some love too.

20 weeks 4 days ago What a man.

Couldn't be happier for him.

20 weeks 4 days ago Once

Once I attempted to downvote a comment as flamebait, but it upvoted instead.  I then attempted the same thing on a reply to the comment but it upvoted as well.  Not really a post complaint, but it did make me sad at the time.

20 weeks 5 days ago My question is

When you get more teams in a conference than there are games in a season, to the point where one ten-team half is the Big Ten division and the other half is the ACC/Other Teams division... I mean, what's the point?

20 weeks 5 days ago Damn

2005 was not a good year to be a 5-star.

Also, California's had some good backs.

20 weeks 6 days ago Funny

It's been in my head ever since they used it to introduce the Cowboy Classic jerseys.

20 weeks 6 days ago Dennison?

Hell, you can have Dennison.  I always figured that when the aliens invaded, Dennison would be the first building they'd turn into a prison/torture facility.

21 weeks 2 hours ago QB

The QB's not got a bad arm either.

21 weeks 15 hours ago Well

So was Mario Manningham, but the dude's still the New Math.

21 weeks 2 days ago Perhaps

Perhaps we could do a doubleheader with Appalachian State in 2014.

21 weeks 3 days ago Correction

Alabama was #2 at the time of our slaughtering, not #1.  That would be USC.  Preaseasons are funny that way sometimes.

21 weeks 5 days ago No idea

Lewan, yeah, probably.  Quite honestly though, there's more to being a captain than who we fans think happens to play the best on the field.  It's about who leads in practices, who coaches the underclassmen, who gives it their all every day - as Bo once said, they "have to be me on the field."  And frankly, only the coaches who are with the players every day know these things.  There's more to a player than what they do on Saturday.

21 weeks 6 days ago Time

How many minutes of real time did the last 7 minutes of game time take?

22 weeks 2 days ago According to Jim Brandstatter

According to Jim Brandstatter, the tradition was started by accident.  Way back in the 50s or 60s or so, the PA guy read a bunch of scores off the ticker tape, and when he got to Slippery Rock, the bored crowd gave a big ovation for the school with the funny name.  So they started doing it every time.

22 weeks 2 days ago He does have a point

He does have a point - if the divisions aren't geographic, then you can't have geographic names, and then what are you left with?  You can't convince me that "inner" and "outer" are good names for divisions of a conference.  I'd be fine with Leaders and Legends if Michigan was in the Leaders division as they should be.

22 weeks 3 days ago Upvoted

Upvoted for Zoltan.

22 weeks 3 days ago I'm aware

I'm aware of a "rivalry type thing" between us and Duke, I was mostly amused that it was considered big enough to have its own Wiki entry.

22 weeks 3 days ago Interesting

I was utterly unaware that they even kept records of those kinds of things.

22 weeks 4 days ago Same

I was at last year's spring game.  It was enjoyable in that it was FOOTBAW, which had been missing from my life for far too long, but it was average on the whole.  Hearing Carl Grapentine leave his mic on and say things like, "Oh wow, that was a pretty nice run" was funny, though.

22 weeks 4 days ago Or even

A heart-to-heart-with-Hart about why he stayed.

22 weeks 5 days ago Hmm.

But what color hair does he prefer on girls?  That is the question.

22 weeks 5 days ago Yes

Yes, but he looks surprisingly different with long green hair and white eyebrows.  Mainly the eyebrows.

But, but, so does Jake Ryan.

THE WORLD IS ENDING

22 weeks 6 days ago Ah yes

Perhaps include a twosie in there somewhere too.

23 weeks 2 hours ago Not at all

Doesn't change my expectations at all, I had 12-0 from day one.  Now we shall win the twelve games by a slightly higher margin.

23 weeks 6 hours ago Ahhh.

What.  A.  Man.

23 weeks 1 day ago Because

To a point, it's not about ranking the "best" teams.  Bama's clearly the best team in football, but they still managed to lose a game.  It happens.  Notre Dame is ranked high because they are 12-1.  We are ranked low because we lost five games.  That also happens.

23 weeks 6 days ago Hmm.

Another lifer in the making, perhaps?

23 weeks 6 days ago Yost

Bo revived the standard, but Fielding Yost set the standard.

23 weeks 6 days ago Hell no

Roll damn Tide and may they win by a larger margin than the Cowboy Classic.

23 weeks 6 days ago Bo

Didn't Bo's teams go something like four or five years without falling out of the top 10?

23 weeks 6 days ago And now

If only Rutgers had pulled it out, the Big Easy would have a clean sweep.

24 weeks 11 hours ago Uniformz

They really didn't look as bad as I thought they would, but the numbers absolutely should have been blue.

24 weeks 1 day ago I'll admit

I'll be the first to admit, I've knocked Borges a fair amount of times.  I didn't have much faith before the game, and not much at the beginning of the game either.  But in the end, he called a very fine game.  Reminded me of OSU last year - offense bailing out the defense for once, but this time it didn't quite work.

24 weeks 1 day ago Timing

Look at the timing, though.  Eight minutes left in the fourth quarter, Michigan's ball, threatening to put together a long drive, possibly score, and give the ball back to USC with much less room for error.  They needed a big defensive play, and they got one pretty emphatically.

24 weeks 1 day ago Ace Sanders

If anybody was an MVP, it was Ace Sanders.  Dude was all over the place.

24 weeks 1 day ago It was good yes

It was good, yes, but of course the first play we take Lewan off of guarding Clowney, the man goes and kills Vincent Smith which earned him MVP honors and will probably be replayed incessantly on ESPN.  Lewan-Clowney matchup of the ages?  Check.  Clowney with the game-changer?  Also check.

24 weeks 1 day ago I too had that moment.

I too had that moment.

24 weeks 1 day ago Pretty sure

Pretty sure he averaged 48.  Which is still pretty damn good.

24 weeks 1 day ago So

24 weeks 1 day ago Uniformz

Where's the photoshopped picture around here of the unis with blue numbers and maize trim?  I really think those would have been much better, if we absolutely had to have alternates.

24 weeks 2 days ago Fourth order of business:

Fourth order of business: get fired, but not before collecting $1 million in severance.  Rinse and repeat.

24 weeks 4 days ago Question

Is there a "clubbing" penalty?

24 weeks 4 days ago That's why

That's why, on 4th and 4 on the opponent's 40, with 3:30 to go and up 7, you go for it.

25 weeks 1 day ago 3 and out

I got Three and Out.  Fascinating read.

25 weeks 3 days ago Possibly

Possibly, but the way I see it, the jerseys have been given to only very good players.  Perhaps in the future if a standout player has a real shot of becoming a Legend, he'll keep his normal jersey number.  As to your final question, Denard, as much as I love him, will not have his jersey become part of the Legends program.

25 weeks 4 days ago Eh

If we've ever had a player worthy of having "facts" written about them, it would've been Zoltan.  Lewan, not so much.

25 weeks 5 days ago Borges

That makes Borges the highest-paid offensive coordinator in the B1G.  Which is... interesting.

25 weeks 5 days ago I'll have the chicken then

Please.

26 weeks 1 day ago Indiana

I will go on record saying that Indiana will be the Detroit Lions.  Always on the verge, looks good on paper, but never quite gets it together.

26 weeks 1 day ago Eh, I liked the Cowboy Classic ones

Eh, I liked the Cowboy Classic ones.  They were shiny and new-fangled while still being Michigan.  Haven't liked any of the others.  "Parade" is a good word to use.  This is Michigan fergodsakes.

26 weeks 1 day ago Unless

Unless you live on North.  Not to mention it makes getting home easier.

26 weeks 3 days ago In other NFL news

Shutout central today.  Hasn't anybody heard of offense?  I long for the golden days of no defense and the spread n' shred.  The current generation is inferior.

/s

26 weeks 3 days ago Well...

Shit.

26 weeks 4 days ago What I did

Frankly, I got chummy with the admissions people.  Not pushy or anything, but just sent them a note saying how Michigan was at the top of my list, how I'd go if they accepted me, and the obligatory "Go Blue!"  (They like that.)

Well it worked, they accepted me after I got deferred.  For further reference I had a 3.12 GPA, 2160 SAT, and through a colossal oversight left the extracurriculars section of my application blank except for football, so it appeared as though I did basically nothing outside of school.

26 weeks 4 days ago I was deferred

Deferred is not bad at all, it just means that they need a bit more time.  I was deferred and was accepted a month or so later.  It's actually better than being waitlisted.  So chin up, wot.

26 weeks 5 days ago See: dream

A man can still dream, yeah?

26 weeks 5 days ago Aw man

There goes my dream of him being our De'Anthony Thomas/Percy Harvin type player.

26 weeks 5 days ago No superlative?

No superlative for Nebraska?  "Most hated apart from Ohio State except you can't really hate them because they're all so nice and oh fuck it I hate them anyway because obviously," perhaps?

26 weeks 6 days ago Defense

That's a formidable-looking defense.  Fast, aggressive.  And Clowney - very impressive.  Where's Chris Perry and his precision screens of doom when you need him?

26 weeks 6 days ago Garmon got injured himself

After the starter (Bullock) got injured in the Northern Illinois game, Garmon went in and also got got injured immediately after.

26 weeks 6 days ago Well

Dunno what you all are talking about, I'd love to take a golf course instead of an engineering one.

27 weeks 4 hours ago Garmon

This is the same man who scoffed at AIRBHG in March, right?  The poor fool.  AIRBHG will always have his revenge in the end.

27 weeks 2 days ago Almost looks intentional.

Almost looks intentional, though I wouldn't know why.  Right?  I mean, surely no real basketball player could fail that badly... right?

27 weeks 5 days ago Rugby concussions

I played rugby here at Michigan, and while I'm no expert on the subject I can tell you that out of the 59 or so guys on the team this year, I think about six got concussed during the season.  They teach you to tackle completely differently in rugby, actually - instead of putting your head across the ball carrier's body like in football, you aim to put your head more towards the back of his hip and wrap your arms around the back of their knees.

The thing is that a hundred years ago with leather helmets, the problem was not with concussions, but rather skull fractures.  After an increasing number of deaths in football a motion was put forth for a better helmet, which evolved into the helmet we know today - it doesn't do much to stop concussions, but it will stop your skull from splintering.  At the time, that was seen as a pretty fair tradeoff.

27 weeks 6 days ago I must say
