| 22 weeks 21 hours ago | Thanks Comrade. I'm still in |
Thanks Comrade. I'm still in post-RR mourning mode. But ugly uniforms are enough to get my blood pressure up. And I did buy front-row seats to see Denard's last game in Tampa, even if his talent has been utterly wasted by Borges and Hoke. And now I have to spend three hours with these horrendous uniforms, up close and personal. B`lyad! |
| 22 weeks 21 hours ago | Fire David Brandon? |
These Outback Bowl uniforms are a travesty. And so have been all of the alternate uniforms with the possible exception of the Under the Lights game ones. If we're going to go with an alternate uniform, why can't we do these? Michigan's brand used to be that we'd always had the same uniform. And Brandon has completely destroyed that. Check out that stylish and distinctive "4" on Bob Chappuis' jersey. And no logos! |
| 22 weeks 2 days ago | Robinson v. Mallett |
Very simple. Mallett transferred because he didn't think RR could coach a traditional QB (incorrectly). Denard didn't transfer because he thought Hoke could coach a dual threat QB (inccorectly). |
| 33 weeks 3 days ago | This post echoes my sentiments completely |
My memories of Michigan-ND are exactly like those of the OP. In those days, MSU and OSU were annoyances—ND was our true nemesis. For me, still, it's the game I look forward to the most every year. ND is the school that is most like Michigan in terms of tradition and glamour. Hopefully the rivalry continues, as Swarbrick has said he hopes to, despite the upcoming cancellation. Given the demise of communist football in AA, it may the only game I continue to watch once the Age of Denard is over. |
| 1 year 24 weeks ago | Future of Communist Football in AA |
It seems pretty clear that Borges was trying, almost until the end of the season, to shoehorn non-spread-option plays into the Denard offense, which is clearly a sign of his ideological, counterrevolutionary nature. It is depressing to see communist football end up at OSU as we carelessly discard it...the outcome of these twin developments will not be good for Michigan. |
| 1 year 26 weeks ago | Notre Dame |
I grew up in the Rocket Ismail / Lou Holtz days, when M and ND would play each other ranked in the top 5 -- and M lost most of those games. For me then, and still now, I hate ND more than OSU. In those days we used to beat OSU the way they beat us now, and even many of the players would say that ND was a bigger rival than OSU. Things change, obviously, but I still get more worked up about beating ND than OSU. |

| 1 year 33 weeks ago | The font is terrible |
The problem with the helmet numbers is the terrible sans-serif font. (Though I get that it is similar to the one used in the past.) Plus the maize of the numbers doesn't match the maize of the wings/stripes. |
| 1 year 36 weeks ago | Welcome back |
Welcome back to you as well J. Keep flying the flag for us. |
| 1 year 37 weeks ago | Front great, back yuck |
The front was fantastic, with the much subtler adidas logo. Looked like a true old-school Michigan jersey. For me, the block M on the back was terrible -- distracting, unnecessary, and novel. |
| 1 year 37 weeks ago | Lol |
I don't know who you are, or how long you've been following Michigan football, but I'm 38 years old, and I've lived and died M football since I was a sentient being. Whether you respect me or not is up to you. But it's precisely because I've been such a die-hard M fan for my entire life, and watched the team get trounced for decades against nearly every high-end national power it has faced in the postseason, that the profoundly destructive actions of January 2011 are, to me, such a betrayal. Does a father who abandons his children deserve unflinching loyalty? Loyalty is not a binary variable, but a continuous one. Intelligent people can disagree about whether it was wise to hire Hoke and dump RR. And intelligent people can disagree about whether Hokeball is worth watching. I'll always root for Michigan...but perhaps from a further distance, and with less of my heart on the line. If Hoke succeeds where Schembechler and Carr (with one exception) failed, I'll be very happy for him. But my expectations are low. I truly hope he proves me wrong. |
| 1 year 37 weeks ago | Thanks Comrade |
I accidentally pressed "send" before the diary was finished, so a lot of inaccurate data appeared at first. Hopefully it's all good now. Thanks for catching the mistake. |
| 1 year 37 weeks ago | Thanks Comrades |
Thanks Comrades for all the kind words—especially those of you who fought the good fight with me. It's been a tough 8 months. As to whether or not Borges et al. can keep things going, I guess we'll see. It's hard to imagine them using Denard as well as RR did, but as the blog says, "Hoke springs eternal." On the question of continuing the diary—it's a hard question to answer. In the aftermath of the counterrevolutionary dismissal of RR, I woke up with no intention of watching any more Michigan football. I might amend that for two years, just so I can watch this once-in-a-lifetime athlete for the rest of his college career. We'll see how it goes. |
| 1 year 37 weeks ago | Like Auburn and Oregon |
Yeah, I too yearn for the day that Michigan is winning conference championships and playing in the BCS title game, like Auburn and Oregon. |
| 2 years 18 weeks ago | Thanks for this Brian |
You hit it exactly on the head. Another three decades of 9-3 teams who lose to national powers is depressing. So depressing. A grave injustice has been done to RR. |
| 2 years 18 weeks ago | A living nightmare |

| 2 years 18 weeks ago | Fiction |
Who said you couldn't question RR? Nobody. Even RR supporters have had their disagreements with the defensive staffing etc. DB took an improving situation and made it far worse. |
| 2 years 18 weeks ago | Sorry |
I wasn't directing those comments at you personally. But I still believe that anyone who roots for Denard should want him to play at a place where his talents can flourish. Hoke has explicitly stated that he is against the zone-read. |
| 2 years 18 weeks ago | Denard should transfer |
He doesn't owe it to Hoke, or to Michigan, or to an entitled and spoiled fanbase to have his talents wasted by a MANBALL coach. |

Mallett didn't leave Michigan because of RR. He left because he was homesick, wasn't happy at Michigan, and Mustain transferred to USC, leaving his native Arkansas QB slot open. Blaming RR for Mallett's transfer is one of the many Great Slanders of the last three years. |

| 2 years 19 weeks ago | If you take Brandon at his word |
Firing RR came down to the "drama" surrounding the program, which is the dumbest reason imaginable to fire a talented, high-end coach after three years, ESPECIALLY if you don't have a replacement lined up. Our 2011 class has been frozen in amber, and what high-end coach will come to a program where they fire you after 2.3 recruiting classes? |
| 2 years 19 weeks ago | Autocorrect |
Yeah I've been having the same "problem"...but maybe I should let autocorrect do its thing. |
| 2 years 19 weeks ago | Miles > Hoke |
For one simple reason: he would use Denard as he was born to be used. Hoke is philosophically opposed to the read-option. |
| 2 years 19 weeks ago | The Horror |
This is seriously worse than losing to Appalachian State. Losing to App St was a disgrace, but one that only affected one season. Firing RR because of the "drama" created by others, with the likelihood of a mediocrity taking his place, could destroy Michigan football for decades. Truly incredible. |

| 2 years 19 weeks ago | Yes |

| 2 years 19 weeks ago | Are we seriously going to replace RR with Hoke? |
Please tell me this is a nightmare. Hopefully the Fox 2 report was BS and RR is staying and DB is telling him, clean house on D... |
| 2 years 19 weeks ago | Let me ask a philosophical question |
If Michigan did the kinds of things Nick Saban does -- recruiting players and then throwing them on the street -- would you care? If MIchigan did the thinks Lane Kiffin was accused of doing at Tennesse -- getting young coeds to hook up with recruits -- would you care? I am a Michigan fan, born and bred. But a big part of why I root for Michigan is that I always felt Michigan was more than just a school and a football team -- it was a place that stood for something more, something about the ideals of sportsmanship and the scholar-athlete. The behavior of our fan base, and the deeply unfair treatment that RR has received, have made me question whether Michigan is truly a place that stands for something more. Whatever my complaints about the Schembechler-Moeller-Carr era, that was never one of them: those three men stood for the highest ideals of sportsmanship and the scholar-athlete. If Michigan is to become just another school that cares about Ws and Ls, and nothing more, where coaches and players are treated like disposable diapers all in the "service" of the almighty W, that's fine -- that's clearly what most of you want. Some of us aren't sure that is what we want. |
| 2 years 19 weeks ago | Brian, I'm sad to see you get so invested in JH |
I get the frustration with the last three years...but to me, JH not coming to M is the best thing that could happen. Let's get RR a real defensive staff and kick ass next year. |
| 2 years 19 weeks ago | Anyone who would throw out RR for Hoke is insane |
Hoke has done a decent job in recent years -- but that pales in comparison to RR's resume when he came here from WVU. I get that many of you are emotionally invested in a coaching change, no matter the end result. But Brady Hoke will unite the fanbase? COME ON!!! While I'm on the subject, FWIW, Harbaugh won't unite the fanbase either. RR supporters like me aren't on board with Harbaugh (though I realize that we're the minority). There is only one thing that will unite the fanbase: winning. |
| 2 years 19 weeks ago | Seems like others at the bowl game agree | |
| 2 years 19 weeks ago | That's ridiculous |

You're right to say that this blog is generally pro-RR, with an extremely loud anti-RR faction. But, after every loss, and especially this last one, the antis take over. | 2 years 20 weeks ago | I used to work at Bain Capital |
And I would agree with iawolve's assessment of the overall approach. I think what a lot of people are assuming is that W-L is the only metric. Brandon has been pretty consistent that he's interested in a lot of things: recruiting, overall improvement, graduation rates, etc. He's also said that the bottom line is: are we moving in the right direction? The question is, is RR meeting the benchmarks DB has in mind? We all have our own opinions and our own benchmarks, but we aren't in DB's mind as to what *his* benchmarks are. |
| 2 years 20 weeks ago | Loyalty goes both ways |
I love how people demand that people be loyal to them, but toss those same people under the bus if they ever underperform on the field or on the sidelines. Loyalty goes both ways. If Michigan isn't willing to be loyal to the coach that recognized that Denard could be a special quarterback, and deploy his talents accordingly, then don't expect Denard to be loyal to Michigan. If you're in favor of firing RR, then don't criticize Denard for doing what's best for him. |
| 2 years 20 weeks ago | If RR is fired, Denard *should* transfer |
And I would fully support him in doing so. A once-in-a-generation talent like Denard shouldn't be forced to play for a coach who will waste his abilities. |
| 2 years 20 weeks ago | Life isn't simple |
Our offense performs more poorly when they are playing from far behind. Similarly, in 2008, our relatively talented defense performed poorly because they were playing from far behind. We all love statistics and numbers and analysis: but we need to remember that football is a game played by humans, not numerals, and psychology and motivation play a big role in the performance of teams. College football, in particular, is a momentum sport. All this to say that the thesis that "our offense sucks" because it didn't put up points when playing from far behind is too simplistic. If our defense was serviceable, and the game was more competitive, I bet you that our offense would have performed better. As evidence, I would point out that Michigan did put up a lot of yards and points against some of its opponents with excellent defenses--esp. Iowa and Illinois. |

RR has already said DG is the backup. Such a shame that Tate's indiscipline has led to this. (Let's also remember that DG would have never played earlier in the year if Tate hadn't had such a poor offseason.) It's also a shame because Tate appeared to have turned a corner with the team. |

Then it is almost certainly a new DC. There is no way DB would bring in an NFL coach to become M head coach: he is too well aware of the mixed performance of NFL coaches at the college level. |

| 2 years 22 weeks ago | Can Gallon say "Transcontinental"? | |
| 2 years 22 weeks ago | Defense is not offense |
The coaches deserve a lot of credit, as everyone else is saying. But to those who say that this is evidence that coaching turbulence doesn't matter: it matters less on the defensive side of the ball, because defensive recruits aren't as scheme-oriented as offensive recruits. On the offensive side of the ball, players who want to play in a spread offense (e.g. Dee Hart) won't play for Harbaugh, and vice versa. |
| 2 years 22 weeks ago | Or maybe |
There is more to life than playing for a coach with NFL connections. Like playing for a coach you've personally bonded with. Face it -- if you're a four-star recruit, most schools want you. You choose the school you want to go to. People need to get their heads out of their asses and realize that these kids have choices, and a big part of their choice is playing for someone they trust and respect. If they trust and respect Harbaugh more than any other coach out there, then they'll stay. If there's another coach they trust and respect more, they'll leave. That's why coaching changes can be disruptive. People who think a Harbaugh hire wouldn't be disruptive are on crack. |
| 2 years 22 weeks ago | Yale is #1 in hockey? What?? |
Boola boola!
|
| 2 years 22 weeks ago | I drew the same vibe |
As much as the waiting past new years seems like a ploy to hire JH, I'm hoping that DB sees what most of us see: a first-rate coach with a gradually improving team, as the roster gets better and more experienced. One thing we should keep in mind: DB has said, since the beginning of the season, that he would conduct his review at the end of the season. And, at the beginning of the season, nobody knew JH was going to go 11-1. So all the speculation is just speculation. |
| 2 years 22 weeks ago | Yeah |
I linked to this in a thread a long time ago -- but it's worthy of future discussion. Much of what Brandstatter says is couched because of his relationship to the program, but I think it's interesting that he is willing to potentially go against DB here and strongly support RR. That says a lot. Plus he's right. |
| 2 years 22 weeks ago | Supposedly Casteel doesn't like RR? |
In the old threads, there was some scuttlebutt that Casteel and RR didn't get along that well, and that was a big part of why Casteel didn't move with the rest of the crew. The other scuttlebutt was that Casteel was very settled in WV and didn't want to uproot his family. Obviously it would be fantastic to get him... |
| 2 years 22 weeks ago | Huh? |
DFEI ranks WV number 1 and M number 103. The numbers you cite are for the strength of schedule (which DFEI adjusts for). |
| 2 years 22 weeks ago | Da Comrade |
No playoff. The bowl system is great, and was better before all of this BCS nonsense. My solution: play all the bowl games the way we used to before the BCS, and have a final game on Jan. 8 between the #1 and #2 teams after the bowl games are finished. I guess that is what they call the "plus-one" system but it eliminates the whining from the TCUs of the world. They can play in whatever bowl game they want; if they finish the bowl season in the top two, they're in the championship game. |
| 2 years 22 weeks ago | Or we could just call ourselves the Western Conference |
Going back to the original name. But somehow that probably wouldn't appeal to the TV-oriented people like Delany, who would see that as regionalizing a national conference. |
| 2 years 22 weeks ago | If DB is keeping RR |
This is the only logical explanation -- and yes it has been brought up before. His comment the other day about the fanbase "whining" about not being in a bowl sort-of suggests that as a possibility. Then again, he has made plenty of comments that can be read the other way. |
| 2 years 22 weeks ago | More, not less, division |
Harbaugh would hardly unite the fanbase. He would only make things worse. He is, rhetorically, a divisive figure, and he would upend our offensive recruiting. It would be a mess. We will officially become ND. |
| 2 years 22 weeks ago | This is crazy talk |

| 2 years 22 weeks ago | Denard for Heisman 2011 |
Denard gained more yards this year than Mark Ingram did last year. His stats were way better than those of Eric Crouch. What it clearly comes down to is not stats but team wins. If Michigan loses 3 games or less next year, Denard gets the Heisman. |
| 2 years 22 weeks ago | I hate the trophy names EXCEPT for Stagg and Grange |
It's appalling that the trophies didn't represent way more players that played before 1940. Only 5 of 28 names on the player trophies are of players before 1960 -- and the Big Ten is 114 years old. It's entirely appropriate to honor Stagg, who is one of the greatest (if not the greatest) Big Ten coach of all time. |
| 2 years 22 weeks ago | Ahistorical |
I put this on the Brian thread, but: The Big Ten conference has been around since 1896 -- 114 years -- and yet the vast majority of the names on the player trophies are for players since 1960. Grange, Graham, Nagurski, Ameche, and Eddleman -- 5 players out of 28. That is absolutely ridiculous, and does utter violence to the Big Ten's history. I almost want to call for Delany's resignation over this -- how do you ignore the vast majority of the Big Ten's heritage like that? Unbelievable. |
| 2 years 22 weeks ago | Stagg/Maxwell |
The U Chicago theme was always the best. Delany is an idiot. |
| 2 years 22 weeks ago | Who is arguing for continuity in the defensive staff? |
Most pro-RR people I see on this board are fine with major turnover in the defensive staff. |
| 2 years 22 weeks ago | The player trophy names are absurd |

It's an interesting choice, that's for sure. |
| 2 years 23 weeks ago | Here's the embedded video | |
| 2 years 23 weeks ago | Denard's performance is the product of a team |
I would expect this "Michigan is a one-man team" rhetoric on the message boards of MSU or ND -- but here, from a knowledgable guy? Denard is an exceptional athlete, but his stats are not just about him or the system -- they're also about outstanding O-line and WR blocking, and a solid RB game (when we had one). Denard playing behind the 2008 O-line would have gotten nowhere. Our offense—as a team—is very good, and only going to get better (if there is continuity). |
| 2 years 23 weeks ago | Sorry |
But I think it's hypocritical and irrational. What makes you think that a kid who goes to Michigan for four years loves Michigan more than a guy who coaches there for four years? The coach busts his butt 24/7 for this program in a way that no player ever does. A player gets time off in the summer. Some players aren't all-in for the program. When he was at WV, RR had his pick of every top job opportunity in the country. He turned down Alabama. He left a place where he was treated like a god to come to Michigan because he thought Michigan was special. A guy who gives his all for Michigan, as RR has, and who has been here nearly as long as any player played for Michigan, has as much ties to the program as anyone. Harbaugh started for Michigan for three years. Rodriguez has coached for Michigan for three years. Harbaugh is no more, and arguably far less, of a Michigan Man than Rodriguez is. That is all. |
| 2 years 23 weeks ago | Michigan Man nonsense |
So I take it you would have been against Fielding Yost, Fritz Crisler, and Bo Schembechler because none of them either played or coached at Michigan before becoming head coach? Stop with the stupid Neanderthal tribalist shit. |

| 2 years 23 weeks ago | The Communist Anti-Playoff Manifesto |
1. A 6-team playoff would only lead to whining that it should be an 8-team playoff. And then a 10-team playoff. It will never end. Personally, I preferred the old system in which #1 and #2 didn't play each other every year: more debate! more controversy! more Molotov cocktails! 2. Playoff diminishes the regular season: truly the most compelling in sports. 3. The most appealing aspect of college football is its Traditions. 4. One of the most traditional and distinctive aspects of college football is the bowl system. 5. The grandaddy of them all is the Rose Bowl. 6. Michigan has the opportunity, by winning the Big Ten, to play in the Rose Bowl every year. 7. As an egalitarian, I like that teams, even after an imperfect season, can end their season on a high note (e.g., 2008 Capital One Bowl). |

You can't blitz all the time if your cornerbacks can't play man coverage. In 1997, everybody thought Jim Herrmann was a genius because he blitzed all the time. Why did he blitz all the time? Because he had Woodson and Ray on the corners. |

Given that Hunter Thompson hated Nixon so much, I wonder who Hunter thought was deserving of the 1969 national championship. I was reminded of this when watching "Big Ten's Greatest Seasons: 1969" on BTN-on-demand last night. Penn State went 11-0 in both 1968 and 1969, but lost the MNC both years to OSU and Texas, respectively. (OSU was also No. 1 in 1969 until they lost to Michigan in their final game.) Nixon played a role in the debate between whether Texas or Penn State was more deserving of the title:

that Denard isn't going. But that's the Heisman for you: an award that only rewards players from winning teams, and only from one side of the ball, and only from certain positions on one side of the ball. Unless you are willing to join my socialist revolution, that is the way it will always be. |

| 2 years 23 weeks ago | The comments about Schembechler Hall |
Are telling. We know that DB talks often of his insider's take on the program that comes from talking to the players. |
| 2 years 23 weeks ago | Hi Caup |
This is interesting stuff. They hate him for the speech or for the Josh Groban, or both? It's also interesting because if you're right and 98% of players hate RR, we mustn't forget that DB was a former player as well and probably shares their psychology. |

I would only say as a half-counter that Denard was injured a lot this year, and played a lot of half-games. If he stays healthy for a full season (a modestly big "if"), and he gets better at reading defenses, he might have better stats next year despite a better RB complement. His stats were pretty good against Wisconsin and Penn State, and would have also been great against OSU, had he not gotten hurt. |

I corrected this typo and also the 11-game error mentioned by Tully Mars above. |

That many Stanford faculty members would resent so much money going to a football coach, and give the administration a hard time about it. |
| 2 years 24 weeks ago | My Stanford friends |
Who are not friends with the President, but do follow Stanford football, have been worried about the opposite problem: that Stanford doesn't care about football, and that the administration has indicated that they aren't willing to pay up to retain Harbaugh. I guess we'll see who's right. |

| 2 years 24 weeks ago | Ask Alabama |
I know the stats don't show it, but they seem to have gotten better as the season went on. That Fairley is a beast, dirty player or not. |
| 2 years 24 weeks ago | Total offense stats favor pure passers |
The nationwide leaders and NCAA record holders for total offense tend to be QBs who play in wide-open passing attacks in second-tier conferences, where the defenses aren't very good...it's impressive that Denard is where he is, given these disadvantages. |
| 2 years 24 weeks ago | Sorry Comrade |
I was having some formatting issues with the various graphic images—I think I've fixed it now—hopefully we're all good! I didn't mention this specifically in the prose, but Cam, with the extra game he played, has overtaken Denard in terms of how he projects for total offense over the season. But barely so (4,306 to 4,289): Denard can get him back. |

14+ teams would be weird. We're not one of these wacky WAC/CUSA type conferences. 12 is enough. Let ND do their thing. Not sure if we should keep scheduling ND given that we now have OSU, Nebraska, and MSU on our schedule every year. |

| 2 years 24 weeks ago | Purdue, UConn? |
Not everybody. Just most people. Their rush defense, FWIW, is 20th and pass efficiency defense is 50th. Here is their NCAA stats page. http://web1.ncaa.org/football/exec/rankingSummary?year=2010&org=430 Their QB, Chris Reif, is a legitimate dual threat: he ran for 683 yards and threw for 1508. |
| 2 years 24 weeks ago | This could be a favorable matchup |
That 8-4 record seems scary (given our abilities and their impressive schedule), but Miss State ranks 91st in passing yards and 16th in rushing yards -- this means they are unlikely to torch our secondary. |

This one is interesting too:
So we have two things in common with Oregon. I wonder if RR has ever considered running his practices like Kelly does. |
| 2 years 24 weeks ago | No pro teams |
Those places you mention in the South by and large don't have pro teams. Hence, college ball is the be-all and end-all. Not so for major metropolitan areas like SF and Chicago. |
| 2 years 24 weeks ago | +1 |
+1 for referring to Hegel in a blog about football. |
| 2 years 24 weeks ago | Yeah |
It's an aberration because in the 1990s and early 2000s, the Big Ten was a weak conference and we would get blown out by also-ran teams from other conferences. The teams that blew us out this year (OSU, Wisc) are legit on a national level (look at what OSU did to Oregon last year). |
| 2 years 24 weeks ago | The anti-RR crowd disagrees |
They contend that most of the key players, including Denard, would stay and that JH would be able to run a spread offense to adapt to the personnel. Personally I agree with you -- there will be significant disruption. |

| 2 years 24 weeks ago | This is a best case scenario, Comrades |
Tennessee would be the easiest opponent -- and as much fun as it would be to play Florida, it's much more important to Michigan's future that we win the game. Plus, we get to avenge our 45-17 loss to Tennessee in the 2002 Citrus Bowl. (What? Michigan got blown off the field when people other than RR were coaching the team? IMPOSSIBLE) |
| 2 years 24 weeks ago | Looking less likely |
The game between Dr. Phillips and Seminole Ridge is at 7:30 at Bill Spoone Stadium (the DPHS home stadium). That means the press conference is likely to be in the 10-11 range. Buuut...a friend of mine who is a former miss FL invited me out to dinner with her and her girlfriends. Faced with the choice of a Dee Hart decommitment press conference and that, well, I think you'd do the same as me. Sorry Comrades. If for some unfortunate reason my night out is abbreviated, I'll head over to DPHS and record the event. |
| 2 years 24 weeks ago | Hilarious |
It's telling that many of the RR haters don't think RR will end up at a major school. Shows how ignorant they are about football. RR would be a dream hire for Miami and he would rule the ACC from there. You don't think most of our Florida recruits wouldn't jump at the chance to play in their home state at a legendary program (which FYI has won way more MNCs in recent years than we have)? |

| 2 years 24 weeks ago | Da Comrade |
There is a fourth possibility that the OP doesn't directly consider (one that has been brought up elsewhere): that DB is stubbornly sticking to the timeline he's had since the beginning of the year, and that it has nothing to do with Harbaugh. Given all the leakiness of the last coaching search, and the fact that it's not kosher for DB to call JH directly and offer him the job, DB would have to use intermediaries to gauge JH's interest. Those intermediaries are likely to leak shit. Also, any offer by DB, in terms of actual dollars, would have to be approved by Mary Sue Coleman, along with the buyout for RR, unless MSC basically said "DB, do whatever you want, I don't care about the money" (which seems unlkely). Hence, it is at least conceivable that DB has made no decision and that no discussions with JH or JH proxies have taken place. I agree with the OP though -- between RR's emotional speech last night and the logic of DB's machinations, it's hard to be optimistic about the situation (as an RR supporter). |
| 2 years 24 weeks ago | Profit, you lost your million points! |
A shame -- I got a kick out of that. |
| 2 years 24 weeks ago | I agree |
Greg from MVictors liveblogged from the bust yesterday. He wasn't a fan of the Groban music, but overall the consensus of people seemed to be that Rodriguez's speech was inspiring. It's unfortunate that Rittenberg decided to mock him for his comment about being a Michigan man. A significant portion of the fanbase and alumni don't accept him as a Michigan man because he didn't go here and/or didn't work for Bo. Truly this is preposterous and it's entirely realistic for him to humbly ask to be accepted. |
