Wow, did he blow up size-wise or something or was he targeted for TE all along? I thought he was going to play WR in college.
|2 years 48 weeks ago||Early Signing||
I think the early signing day is in November, but he said in an interview that he would like to decide before his season begins. That could mean an announcement could come earlier.
|2 years 49 weeks ago||OK||
Generally, that might be true, but this time last year they had 10, including 2 from TX. If I were a NE fan, I might be a little concerned about the total absence of TX kids so far this year. That and the fact that Michigan, most likely my primary rival in the B10 West, is knocking the cover off the ball.

|3 years 3 weeks ago||Gunner Kiel||
Tom ... read over on a Sooner board that GK was in Tuscaloosa today, and heard a rumor just a few minutes ago from someone else that he committed to Bama. Do you know if this is true?
|3 years 4 weeks ago||Dusty Kiel||
Dusty Kiel is a RS sophomore QB at Indiana, so that means Gunner will have to compete with his brother for the starting job for the first two years and then with others after that. How is that better than competing for the job at Michigan? At a minimum, beating out your older brother would be awkward.
|3 years 4 weeks ago||And||
... it's solely up to the player to decide whether he wants to accept such an offer.
|3 years 4 weeks ago||Cicero ==> OSU Compliance?||
Maybe OSU should hire Cicero to work in compliance. He seems to be the only person in Columbus who understands that players trading memorabilia, equipment and signatures for benefits is not permitted under NCAA rules.
|3 years 4 weeks ago||Uhhhh ...||
Also, you shouldn't assume all RS juniors want to come back for a fifth year. Most of these guys are not going to the NFL. Once they have their degrees, some are looking forward to moving on and starting their future careers. In that sense, guessing which RS Juniors will not be returning is similar to guessing which highly-talented players will choose to leave early for the pros each year. It is not a one-way decision made by the coaching staff. I am sure Hoke will adjust his final class size (next February, BTW) appropriately based on all the relevant factors.
|3 years 4 weeks ago||Posey||
The NCAA also will want to interview Posey to find out the names of the other Buckeye golfers. I doubt he will be able to get away with telling the NCAA he can't remember.

Does anyone know if the players named in the SI article have already been questioned by the NCAA? If they were questioned before Ellis, they would not have known he was going to back out at the last minute and, therefore, might have told the truth.
Getting caught accepting a discounted tattoo is not nearly as bad as getting caught lying to the NCAA. Just ask Dez Bryant.

|3 years 5 weeks ago||Bob Knight||
... is a bully and a joke. Like Jim Tressel, he has become a punch line. At some point, as a live on-air analyst, he will do exactly what he did as a coach -- he will begin to believe he is somehow superior to everyone else and let loose with a totally racist or anti-gay or other similar inappropriate remark and he will be fired by ESPN. Finally, that will be the end of Bob Knight.

Schollies are always a question of choosing one player over another, so the question is not whether UM would like to have Rawls but whether UM would like to have Rawls more than all of the other players who want to come to UM.
In the 2011 class, I would rather have Willingham, Fisher, Barnett, Cooper and Bryant than Rawls. And if at least four of those accept, I would bank the rest for 2012 since it is supposed to be an "up" year for recruiting in the Midwest and we will likely (again) have fewer than 25 scholarships available to give.

Two days ago, ESPN put up a poll and asked the public to rank the top football programs in the country. Despite the past three "subpar" years and the current nightmare CC situation, UM is sitting at #7:
Apparently this is the third time ESPN has run such a poll and these results are consistent with the previous two. UM might be down, but all of the other major programs have been down at one point or another too. It takes much more than a few down years to destroy an iconic brand as strong as Michigan's.
|3 years 29 weeks ago||"Let's talk about profit."||
The 14 schools who made a profit are the major schools Mark Cuban needs to make his plan work. Last year, UM and PSU each made $25-26 million "profit". OSU's was a little over $18 million. Texas and Alabama were the highest with nearly $30 million and $44 million respectively. You can find all the numbers here:
The bottom line is no one cares what Boise State or Louisville or Virginia or any of the other non-major football schools think or whether they make a "profit" or not. And you can come up with all the "better" ideas you want, but unless schools like Texas, Oklahoma, OSU, UM, Alabama and Florida play ball (no pun intended), your ideas are worthless. A playoff system that does not include most (if not all) of the major football schools would be a joke. In fact, we already have something similar today -- it is called the FCS.

|3 years 34 weeks ago||Twisted logic||
Sorry, but this is all backwards. Giving it out when you don't want to just to prove that you can and that Braylon is not in charge is letting Braylon influence your decisions. If I were RR, I would never give it out. If asked about it, I would try to deflect the question so as not to create a big public squabble with Braylon but quietly I would let it be known that I do not want to elevate any one player above the team.
|3 years 35 weeks ago||Time to move on||
Sorry, but it says something when you have to set your arguments to "xtra normal" video to make anyone even listen to them. The anti-RR stuff is getting old.

Actually, the band seems to have stepped up this year. Maybe it was the challenge of the rawk music. Maybe it is Brandon. Maybe it is something else. But We definitely have the best band in the conference.
P.S. It is a shame that they did not show this at halftime on TV. I was at the game with my dad, but my mom at home did not get to see the show. She would have loved it and the MMB needs to get props for all the hard work.

It's gonna get very ugly. From the limited comments Swarbrick has made, he is totally in CYA mode. Depending on the "mood" of the local prosecutor, the director of the video group who decided to have the kid go up on the lift on such an obviously bad day could be brought up on charges of negligent homicide. If Kelly keeps his job, it will be solely because Declan Sullivan's parents let him. ND will do whatever it needs to do to settle this as quietly as possible, including firing Kelly if need be. This is far bigger than Kelly.

One or more of those jobs is likely to open up in the next year or two.
|3 years 46 weeks ago||B12 Leftovers||
If the MWC waits a couple years for the B12 to implode and the best teams to finally go to the P16, they might be able to pick up a former BCS team (KS, MO, KSU).
|3 years 46 weeks ago||Hawaii Would Do It||
Hawaii would jump for sure (and I think the MWC needs to take one more team from the WAC to get enough votes to prevent Nevada and Fresno from owing $5 million each in exit penalties), but the question is whether there is a better option that does not require all the MWC teams to fly women's field hockey to Hawaii.

|3 years 49 weeks ago||Columbus||
"Home of the World's Largest Toilet Seat."
|3 years 49 weeks ago||FWIW||
When Michigan or Adidas sends out those "cease and desist" letters or goes further and actually sues someone for trademark infringement, they are not just being dickheads. If the holder of a trademark does not make a good faith effort to defend the mark, they can lose it. In many cases, it probably costs Michigan and Adidas more in legal fees and administrative costs to send out those letters and shut down small violators than it is really worth to them in an economic sense, but they are required to do so or they risk losing the exclusive right to use their mark.
|3 years 49 weeks ago||Certain Exceptions||
Many exceptions exist to the general rule. For example, you can use a person's name and likeness for a news purpose even if you are making a profit. Likewise, you can parody a celebrity or public official.
Not sure if the "Tressel drinks wine coolers" fits into one of the exceptions (I have not seen the shirt or whatever the item is), but it also is possible Tressel just lets it go. He would actually look pretty small and petty (and thin skinned) if he sued a MIchigan fan for creating a tshirt that mocked him.
As for the OP's shirt, it is not a parody. It is not political speech. It is not a news purpose. I am pretty sure it is a simple case of the OP using RR's name and likeness to make a profit. If RR wanted to make a fuss, he could.
|3 years 49 weeks ago||Need Rich Rod's Permission||
Technically, you cannot use a person's name and likeness in a commercial venture without the person's permission. RR might not care or, if you keep it small, he might not even notice. But, technically, you cannot use his name and face to sell something with the goal of making a profit without his permission.

And Dallas as a financial center? Sorry, but the closest TX ever came to having a financial center was Enron and we all know how that turned out.
|3 years 50 weeks ago||Hmmm ...||
If that were true, you would not think there would be a population shift away from Great Lake states and you would expect to see new industries and jobs moving disproportionately into instead of out of rust belt states like Michigan.
The U.S. has massive ports all along the east and west coasts (far larger and more efficient anything we have in the Midwest) and railroads and trucking to efficiently move resources around inside of the country. The vast majority of U.S. raw materials and finished goods imports come through ports outside the Midwest. Although the Great Lakes do provide an advantage to states like Michigan, that advantage is not nearly as big as you think.
|3 years 50 weeks ago||TX||
TX might be in the worst position long term. The state of TX and everything in it is built on the oil and gas industry. Everyone agrees that we are on the downslope of that industry. it might be another 50-100 years before oil and gas are no longer our primary energy sources, but that day is coming. Other than oil and gas, what does TX really have?
|3 years 50 weeks ago||Mocking v. Complaining||
Sorry if you misunderstood my original post. I wasn't complaining, I was mocking. I was mocking ND for, well, pretty standard ND stuff. In this case, for saying this is a serious matter and that it is being handled accordingly when, in fact, ND does not believe that and has not disciplined these guys at all. I have to say that I am looking forward to the BK era more with each passing day!
|3 years 50 weeks ago||It's All Relative||
Try hanging out one summer in Miami or Austin or even Tuscaloosa. It's miserable and everyone stays indoors during the daytime as much as possible.
|3 years 50 weeks ago||65% In State||
I do not know if your 65% figure is correct, but if it is I am sure it is an undergrad number only. When you consider all the sources of funding for a school like UofM, including graduate education and grants (UofM receives close to $1 billion in grant money each year), the gradual shift in population to the sun belt is not going to matter that much. And all they would have to do to solve the problem is slightly lower the 65% in-state requirement to accommodate the relative decline in the state's population.
The bigger issue is the decline of the auto industry. The state needs to do a much better job of attracting new industries to replace what it is losing each year. Otherwise, Detroit might eventually just be a much larger version of Flint. That would not be good for UofM.
|3 years 50 weeks ago||Not Much Discipline Either||
Suicides might be less pleasant than laps, but it is not exactly what most people think of when they hear a player has been disciplined. It is like going to the gym and having to do legs instead of arms. I hate working legs, but it is not exactly a punishment.
|3 years 50 weeks ago||They Were Arrested||
No, he has handled it perfectly. If I were a ND supporter, I would feel so much better that BK came out and told the media that these athletes have been put on a short leash for the next month.
|3 years 50 weeks ago||Politician-Speak||
That is exactly what this reminds me of, when politicians react to some crisis or respond to some issue and claim that something will be done but everyone (including the politicians themselves) know these are meaningless statements and nothing will be done as always.
|3 years 50 weeks ago||Hey I Think It's Great||
Most of these players are not even going to play the first game anyway and it would have been a perfect chance to set the tone for BK's program by suspending them all for one game. I am glad he didn't. Looks like BK is not a tough disciplinarian and that is fine with me.
|3 years 50 weeks ago||Then Don't Say Anything||
If it is not a big deal, he should have said so. Or said nothing. But to say he told them they were on a short leash like that is supposed to mean something?
Of course, because it is BK (media darling right now) and ND, no one will call him out on it. Can you imagine if RR said this about a group of arrested players? FWIW, the summer has about 5 weeks left.
|3 years 51 weeks ago||OK, But ...||
That sounds great on paper, except we all saw him play last year and he did not look anywhere near Tate Forcier 1.0 (pre-shoulder injury). Whatever development CW was laying on Crist, he didn't look all that impressive to me. And the teams he played against -- Nevada, MSU, Purdue, Washington State -- were not exactly the toughest ones on ND's schedule.
|3 years 51 weeks ago||When We Beat PSU||
... it will be embarrassing to them.
|3 years 51 weeks ago||Dayne Crist||
My only comment is on Dayne Crist. He was dreadful when he came in for Jimmy's toe last season. Deer in headlights dreadful. He appears to have all the physical attributes, but he was not even close to Jimmy when it came to processing reads and being comfortable with the speed of the game. If the snaps he took last season are any indication, it will take most of this season or longer for him to get close to Jimmy's level of proficiency. On the plus side, Crist is much more mobile than Jimmy and should be able to avoid the sackfest Jimmy suffered his first year.
Also, Floyd and Randolph very well might be the best WR and TE in the country, but ND had both of them last year. Of course, last year, ND also had Golden Tate. Even taking out the games Floyd missed due to injury, Jimmy had three elite receivers to throw to for about half the season, including the games they lost to UofM, Navy, Pitt, UConn and Stanford. Tate is now gone, which means Crist will have one fewer elite receiver to work with.
So, despite all the hype around BK and ND, I just do not see ND's offense being as productive this year as it was last year. Although all the experts seem to automatically dismiss the possibility, ND's offense easily could take a big step backward this year due to the loss of offensive talent and the need for returning players to fully adjust to BK and his system.
|3 years 51 weeks ago||TP Will Not Win the Heisman||
Winning the Heisman is mostly a stat game. For QB's, it means yardage, TDs and to some extent completion percentage. For RBs, it means yardage, 100+ yard games and yards per carry. It also means not having a bad day against the wrong opponent, causing your team to lose. Tebow overcame the heavy focus on yardage because he was the first QB to ever have both 20 passing and 20 rushing TDs in the same season.
TP will not come close to 20 rushing TDs because OSU has at least two decent running backs (Florida had none when Tebow did it). TP might not hit 20 passing either. He also won't be blowing up the stat list in yardage.
TP has had one decent game stat-wise in his first two years (and a number of bad ones). So long as Tressel can win by playing conservatively on offense, he will. And that will not lead to enough stats for TP to beat out any number of other QBs (Locker, Luck, Brantley, Crist, Gilbert, Jones, Collaros) not to mention all the RBs. His name will be on everyone's short list at the beginning of the season, but he will fade just like last year.

It is very easy to replicate almost anything today. Please do not tell people it is easy to tell the difference between originals and fakes/repros because it is not.
I sent an email to Dekers and received one back. They said they can authenticate it but need more info. I relayed the request to the seller but have not received a response.
Trying to determine the authenticity of memorabilia with no paperwork is extremely difficult. Do not tell people on this board anything different. We are all Michigan fans.

Any school would consider it an atrocious record. Bobby Johnson has had one winning season (barely, and it took a bowl game to get him to 7-6) in 8 years. This past year, he went 0-8 in the SEC and 2-10 overall. Sorry, but that is not what he was hired to do.
No one expected Vanderbilt to dominate the SEC under Johnson, but his past 8 years are hardly something to erect a statue over (even for Vanderbilt). At the end of the day, the question is whether Johnson was delivering what Vanderbilt wanted and expected when they hired him. Period. My guess is, if you asked him, Johnson has not met his own expectations.
At some point (after year 8 maybe?), it has to come down to on the field performance. If winning does not matter at all, then why even play the game? The Ivy league figured this out over 60 years ago and made a choice. Vanderbilt made a different choice, and if NW and Stanford can be competitve, at least occasionally, so can Vanderbilt.
Bobby Johnson just did not get it done. Did I mention 8 years?

Brandon told him he was done. And this had nothing to do with wanting to spend more time with his family. That is standard diplomatic language used all the time when someone is pushed out of an organization.
This also has absolutely nothing to do with Carr and would have happened whether Carr left or not. The amazing thing is that it took this long. I guess Martin didn't have the balls or maybe decided to leave this to the new AD.
And, no, Brandon would never attempt to get rid of LC. Why would he? LC has never been the problem, despite what some people think. At the same time, no way would Brandon (or Mary Sue) let LC dictate whether or not another incompetent employee is going to be axed, and no way would LC would even try.
Brandon is a God.

Jordan knew exactly what he was doing. In fact, by keeping his comp down, it made it hard for others on the team to demand more money (which caused some friction from time to time). If Jordan had insisted on being paid more, he could have gotten it. But if the Bulls had to dump other players (e.g., Pippen) and it resulted in one or two fewer rings, whatever extra money Jordan received from the Bulls could have resulted in one or two fewer rings and Michael understood that.
Michael had many years with the Bulls before he had the right supporting cast and they sucked. No way he wanted to go back to losing. Hell, he didn't even want to play in the regular season after awhile so long he could just play in the playoffs. He knew exactly what he was doing and he wanted to win championships.
|3 years 51 weeks ago||No Paperwork||
I saw your comment about paperwork maybe not being provided 15 years ago. I have bought items in the past few years but not that far back. I have received paperwork for each item, including a letter indicating tax deductibiity for a couple of items (which I find very odd). As I said, I have not purchased anything that far back either, though 1996 is not the dark ages of sports so it is not unreasonable to expect that they would have provided paperwork.
Even if the jersey is genuine, without paperwork it affects the value. If you intend to wear it, having no paperwork is not a problem. If you ever want to sell it someday, smart buyers will ask for paperwork. If you don't have paperwork, the authenticity will always be in question.
FWIW, I exchanged emails with the seller and he has no paperwork. I have an email into Dekers to see if they recall the jersey or have any paperwork. If they reply, I will let the board know.

But no one should feel bad for Kiffin. He reportedly is getting some ridiculous amount of money (rumors are as much as $4 million per year) and he wouldn't even have the job if it weren't for the sanctions. He will also have at least 4-5 years because he has the best excuse in the world if his teams are not very successful.

... but maybe the ring manufacturer spelled his name wrong (Scott) initally and had to make him a second ring and the first one with the incorrect spelling somehow never was destroyed and is now being put up on Ebay by whoever ended up with it. It is listed as "mint condition", which suggests it has not been worn (or at least not very much).
|3 years 52 weeks ago||Ouch||

|3 years 52 weeks ago||Anything Can Be Easily Duplicated||
... even patches:
I was going to suggest asking him for a copy of the receipt and letter of authenticity (you usually get such a letter at official auctions), but those also would be very easy to mock up. The only way I can think of to authenticate the jersey would be to match up some of the autographs with known signatures, though that still would not guarantee it was game worn.
I think you more or less have to trust the guy on something like this and adjust your pricing accordingly. It is clearly not worth the same as if you bought it yourself from a reputable memorabilia dealer or, better yet, directly from UofM at a year-end auction.

|3 years 52 weeks ago||Pollack Is An Egalitarian||
I do not know Pollack's political views, but he is clearly an egalitarian. One of his biggest objections (IIRC from all his past interviews and statements on the project) has always been that the luxury boxes differentiate between the "haves" and the "have nots". You can see that same theme throughout his ramblings in this article about Wall Street and Fat Cats.
Of course, Pollack ignores two obvious things about Michigan Stadium. First, it has never been egalitarian. Anyone who has sat both in high endzone seats and in 40 or 50 yard line seats knows that some seats clearly are much better than others. Second, many fans who could easily afford to upgrade to premium seating have not. I cannot afford a luxury suite, but I have sat in them in many other stadiums. It is almost like not even being at the game. You are not part of the crowd and after the first quarter or so the game often plays second to all sorts of distractions (e.g., food, drinks, conversation). They even have TV's in the suites so you can watch the game without watching the live action. In the end, watching the game from a luxury suite is very similar to watching the game at a bar or even at home on your 52" plasma. Of course, if I wanted to do that, I would simply stay at home and do it for free. Without question, it's a status symbol to say you are in one of the luxury suites, but sitting with the faithful in the bowl is a far better experience if you enjoy attending live Michigan football games.
|3 years 52 weeks ago||Nostalgia||
Yes. That is all it is. Of course, they used to wear leather helmets too and the forward pass was against the rules. Not all change is bad.
IMO, the current renovations do an excellent job of preserving the best parts of Michigan Stadium virtually unchanged while significantly adding to it. And doing it in a way that pays for itself was a very big acomplishment. Bill Martin deserves credit for that.
FWIW, all this talk about what Fielding A. Yost would have wanted is a red herring. First of all, no one knows. Certainly no one (not even his grandson) should claim to speak for him. Second, even Yost did not get 100% of what he wanted when Michigan Stadium was originally built. He had to accept some compromises to get it done. Michigan Stadium has never been 100% what Yost wanted and it does not belong to the Yost Family. It belongs to the University and, to a large degree, to the fans who pay for it and support the team every year. Our opinions count just as much as anyone else's.
|3 years 52 weeks ago||Sour Grapes||
He said it himself, several times in the article -- everyone is entitled to their own opinion -- and he is just unhappy that his is in the very small minority.
Also, he often touts the "alternative plan" they presented. The current plan cost $226 million, but the revenue generated from the luxury suites and club seats pay for 100% of it. Their alternative plan would have cost over $60 million (their figures, not mine) with no way to pay for it because there was no premium seating to generate extra money. He then has the balls to mislead people by suggesting that the current renovation has forced some people to give up their season tickets due to cost. Their alternative plan would have had to have been paid for somehow, most likely through increased ticket prices for everyone.
It is also disingenous for him to say that Michigan Stadium now looks like very other stadium in the country and he knows it. Yes, it looks different than it did three years ago and he clearly does not like the changes, but Michigan Stadium is still is as unique as it has always been. It has never been perfectly unique or totally one of a kind. Michigan Stadium was modeled after the Yale Bowl and was largely copied by ND Stadium. The Rose Bowl is also very similar. Michigan Stadium has always been the largest bowl, but never the only one. If anything, the renovations make it more "unique" because it looks less like those other bowls (although ND Stadium and the Rose Bowl have added luxury suites too over the years).
The new Michigan Stadium is much improved IMO. And that is all we are talking about, opinion. He just refuses to accept the fact that most highly interested people simply don't agree with his.

|3 years 52 weeks ago||I Would Love Soldier Field||
The only problem I see with Soldier Field is its small capacity (61,500). That is larger than the two smallest B10 stadiums -- Memorial Stadium (IU) is 52,692 and Ryan Field (NU) is 47,130 -- but it is still relatively small.
|3 years 52 weeks ago||Image Stabilization||
If you are a casual photographer, it is extremely important to get one with good image stabilization. The higher priced PowerShots have it (not sure about the lower ones). Also, if you are taking flash pics, surprise, you need a good flash. Many small/pocket cameras (even PowerShots) have limited flash capabilities. Unless you are relatively close to your subject, the flash is just not powerful enough. If you take alot of flash pics, you might be better to move up to a camera like your stepson's because it likely has a better built-in flash than most pocket cameras and you can add a higher powered flash if needed.

|4 years 15 hours ago||Charles Woodson||
I know I have constantly been pushing the $10,000 in scholarship money, but silently I want this as much or more for Woodson. He came from Ohio. He was key to us winning our first NC in 50 years. Ask Lloyd what he thinks of Woodson and what you will get is a pause and a stare, while he tries to figure out if you are an idiot or if he should respond.
Woodson was (IMO) the best UofM player I have ever seen play. He is a total class guy. He has been making major personal contributions to the Medical School (and who knows what he does privately). I think winning would matter to him. If we are really, really lucky, maybe someday he will be our AD or football HC.

Somehow, I don't think that is exactly what Bo would say. You do know that he coached every year with a one-year arrangement, right? He wasn't exactly "Those Who Can Write Big Checks Will Be Champions."
And, as for my name, it is exactly why I picked it. Bo. Twice. No apologies.
And thanks for standing down from ridiculing the bobblethon any more. You are clearly a Michigan Man.
PS. For those of you who do care, we just took over the #1 spot from PSU and lead in the bobblethon. Thank you (sincerely) to everyone who has helped.

|4 years 1 day ago||So What?||
I am the person who started the two-a-day reminders. Guilty. I did it because we were getting killed by PSU one evening after being ahead all morning and into the early afternoon. Some people visit MGoBlog in the morning. Others do it at night after they come home from work and, by that time, the reminder that was put up at 7am has been pushed to page three. The point of a reminder is, well, to remind people, so it should not be a surprise to anyone to discover that a reminder that has been pushed to page three is not nearly as effective as a reminder on page one.
Every day since we have been doing the twice-a-day reminders (and, btw, it has been less than a week), UofM has led PSU the entire day. That tells me two things. First, MGoBlog works. When the people on this board work together, they can actually accomplish something. Second, twice-a-day reminders are materially more effective than once-a-day reminders and might end up making the difference between winning the $10,000 and not winning the $10,000. The contest ends on July 31. Is it really that much of an imposition for the uninterested to suffer through a second bobblethon reminder for the next three weeks?
And if you do not believe there are already multiple threads about any number of other topics every day (e.g., NCAA 11, World Cup, Recruiting, Lebron) then you and I must be visiting different boards in alternative parallel universes. The thing that amazes me is that literally 50-75% of the topics on this board every day are OT and no one says a word; they just silently go by them as if it is no big deal. Yet, God forbid, as soon as there is a second bobblethon reminder in an effort to win some scholarship money for the University, all hell breaks loose
Fine. Congratulations, you win. I have been finally transformed into an official MGoBlog member. I am an egocentric, egotistical, self-centered prick who stands ready to criticize and ridicule anything and anyone simply because they present an easy target or, better yet, purely for my amusement. I will post no more reminders. I will spend no more time bobbling for scholarship money (after all, there is nothing in it for me because I have already graduated). F%ck the bobblethon. F%ck the students. And, of course, GO BLUE!!!
|4 years 1 day ago||20+ Hours||
The last bobblethon reminder thread was posted at past 8pm last night, but that is not really the point. Why all the fuss because a few of us are trying to win some money for students?
Also, if you are going to have a once every 8-20 hour rule, please also apply it across the board to everything else. For example, NCAA 11 update threads.
I do my best to skip past the threads that do not interest me since, apparently, they interest some of you. Maybe those who are not interested in the bobblethon could quietly skip by these reminders.
|4 years 1 day ago||Your Words, Not Mine||
I would be the first to applaud and thank you if you did this. It just seems awfully easy to throw out a statement like this in a criticism of our efforts to raise $10,000, especially when you can walk away from your statement immediately after making it.
|4 years 1 day ago||Thanks for the Support||
If you do not want to participate, then don't. Just skip over the thread. The title is pretty clear what it is and you need not waste your time by clicking on it. Not to mention the time it takes to make fun of those of us who think it is worth the effort.
Also, notice the lack of "OT" in the title. That is because this thread is not off topic, unlike 75% of the threads on here. I hope you put as much effort into criticizing those threads that you did this one.
P.S. I assume you have already placed your $10,000 check in the mail.
