yesterday. MSU is taking a zero tolerance for sexual assault now that they are about to be scorched by the Dr. Nasser lawsuits. MSU has always been quite lax in its following through on assault and harrassment cases
Friends who work at MSU have told me the whole culture is on high alert for anything even remotely resembling harrasment or assault.

|7 weeks 11 hours ago||The style of play||
Chino Hills uses is complete BS, they will press and try and steal in the back court and try to block a shot near the rim, they leave 3 pointers wide open as well. They aren't interested in playimg half court defense. On the inbounds they leave their 6-8 D1 prospect back in a cherry pick and will heave the ball ball down court, effectively making it a 2 on 2 game.
They do rotate players around the floor so Ball doesn't spend the entire time cherry picking nor do they chuck the ball down the court all the time.
They recently played Oak Hill Academy and lost like 94-89 or something, their first loss in 60 some games. A much more normal game.
Regardless of the style of play, Melo Ball is a ridiculous shooter who regularly takes and makes 3's from 7feet behind the 3 point line. He's also very smooth and has an incredible touch anywhere insight of the basket.
There is video of him pointing at the halfcourt line and he casually strolls up to it and launches a perfect 3-point shot in the middle of the game. Sick.
He's committed to UCLA already.

has a rather very bad and potentially very expensive lawsuit soon to be moving through the courts dealing with Dr. Nasser. It has been noted by people I know who work there that MSU is moving in a "zero tolerance" direction for, specifically, sexual crimes but also anything that may leave the University liable. They are in a sense cleaning house.

|9 weeks 6 days ago||As a Tigers fan||
the only issues I ever had with Illitch were the early years where it was clear the Tigers were 2nd fiddle to the Wings and the family really had no idea how to run a baseball organization. They made some really poor hires and bad personel decisions, it took the Tigers becoming the laughing stock of MLB for the Illitch's to finally make the changes that have brought about a pretty damn good run from 2006.
For a franchise like Detroit to basically have the best pitcher and best hitter of their generation for 10 years is pretty remarkable. I only wish they could have won a World Series or two, but the baseball playoffs aren't like they used to be.

|12 weeks 1 day ago||I'm hoping in 5 years||
people will really look back at this 2016 team and realize it had lots of limitations that the offensive staff had to work around. Starting with a rickety oline, an avg QB, WR's that could not run past the defense and if they did a QB who couldn't hit them often enough, a group of RB's that just weren't game breakers and need good blocking to get yards which they rarely got.
I think Michigan's offensive staff worked wonders with what they had available, they've made at least 3 or 4 guys viable NFL players who without their coaching probably would not make that level.
|12 weeks 2 days ago||Chip Kelly||
is getting paid by two teams to not coach them anymore. Chip Kelly will take a year off from coaching, look for the right fit and be back in 2018. Could be NFL could be NCAA, but doubt the NFL takes a chance on a guy that bombed in two places.
I think a couple Pac12 jobs could open next year. Cal and UCLA. Kansas should hire that dude.

Most likely Jake had the $4M injury policy even before his JR. year though probably not at that value, and he and his family went for the draft policy after deciding to come back.
The draft round thing is an odd stipulation, one I've only heard of a few times.
|12 weeks 5 days ago||I think we'll||
give up maybe a td more per game and still be solid. Don Brown defenses are tough to grind out long drives against.
Hopefully we have 2 or 3 true freshmen that contribute some to round out the depth and as you mention injuries, or lack of, would be very key.
|12 weeks 5 days ago||Defense||
were warriors again and again we lose a game because the other team only has to drive the ball 30 yards for the winning score.
We lost all 3 games because our offense and special teams put the defense in terrible positions late in all 3 losses.
Taco Charlton was a beast today and the defensive MVP's, I will miss that guy more than anyone off this defense.
|12 weeks 5 days ago||We made one||
bad special teams play which was kind of flukey, (that play is almost always a disaster for the receiving team). That's the importance of special teams.
Believe 100% in my heart if we stick FSU inside their 25 there they don't reach midfield.
|12 weeks 5 days ago||Playcalling||
in our biggest games left a little to be desired in key situations. It looked to me like we shot our wad of a playbook about 6 games too early and went into the last half of the season with everything we can do on film.
But a lot of it comes back to a shakey offensive line which looked weaker and weaker the more our opponents ramped up in difficulty.
Rebuilding our oline into Harbaugh's image is paramount to any success next year.
|13 weeks 5 days ago||once spent||
15 hours in the Detroit Metro International Terminal when my 7am Peoples Express flight was cancelled due to fog. It was the 2nd consecutive day of cancellations at Metro and People's Express didn't replace flights they simply stuffed you on the standby list and there were hundreds of people on that list. I ate a terrible airport sandwich that made me sick, finally boarded a plane to Newark, NJ where we would then be placed on another standby list to possibly get to Sarasota, Fl.
This was back when Newark's airport was a huge shithole of an airport with cramped hallways and gates, some of it temporary to support People's Express.. After a couple hours in Newark we were rewarded with a couple seats to Sarasota at something like 11pm and arrived in Sarasota just ahead of the fog bank sometime after 1am. We missed an entire day of only a 3 day trip to Florida to see my grandmother.
Another holiday trip we were rerouted from Atlanta to Columbia, SC due to fog in Atlanta and our plane not having enough fuel to circle. The delay caused us to miss our connecting flight to Puerto Rico which meant we would miss the launch of our cruise ship. So Delta hooked us up with a nights stay at a cheap motel and a flight first to Puerto Rico then aboard a piece of junk Eastern airlines flight to Barbados where we would be holed up in a janky hotel for two nights as we waited for the cruise ship to arrive.

|18 weeks 1 day ago||I made trips to Columbus||
every year from 1984 to 2004, except for that 1996 game. Amazing to think how different the crowd of Buckeyes are now vs then. In the 880's and 90's there was always a hint of anything can happen and pensive, nervousness from both fan bases. Now it seems like the grade A assholes rule the rivalry, Tressel turned the rivalry for sure be he also emboldened their fans to be complete jerks.
I didn't get to attend the 2006 game because I was priced out of the market, but was in Columbus with friends. I'll never forget that deflating feeling of arriving in my hotel room so full of excitement for the next day only to flip on the TV and learn Bo had passed away. Feel like we've been walking in a trance ever since. Since then I haven't been back to The Game in Ohio.
I haven't been back through a combination of things life related, but very near the top of that list is also having a crappy football program for a decade. I just haven't haven't had the heart. I miss those trips and so dearly want to be in Columbus this weekend.

|19 weeks 2 days ago||Have you been reading||
Not sure this is much different than most Big Ten coaches, for all the ridicule our conference gets over the years there are some universally tough places to play. Iowa, Wisconsin, Penn State, Nebraska and Ohio State. For Michigan I'd throw MSU in that lot. I'd like to think Michigan is a tough place for everyone else to play as well.
|19 weeks 3 days ago||he took the injury||
late in the game, he was awful for two quarters before the injury as well
|19 weeks 3 days ago||Well||
They lost at Utah, many reasons to give Michigan a bit of a pass, first Harbaugh game, first Rudock game etc etc, but man the parrallels in how Michigan looked that night to last night are many.
They beat Maryland last year 28-0 in a game that many felt was a bit underachieving, yet still pretty solid performance
They beat Minnesota by the skin of their teeth and really if not for coaching butchery by Minnesota that was a loss
They beat a bad Penn State team by 12, but it took a strong 4th Q to do so
They beat chaos team Indiana in double OT, if not for some heroics a loss.
The beat Rutgers, demolished them really but Rutgers is one of the worst Big Ten teams of the last 40 years
They beat Michigan State by 9, but was anyone really truely satisfied with how Michigan performed in the whole picture
They lost at Iowa, probably looking worse than in any of Harbaughs previous true road games at Michigan.
This is Harbaugh's true road game resume at Michigan, 6-2, could have been 4-4
I think you can say Michigan's had 4 pretty sub par road games under Harbaugh, Utah, Minnesota, Indiana and now Iowa. Utah probably gets an asterisk, thats a tough ask for any program going through transition in their first game.
but how do you explain Michigan's poor road performances against 6-7 teams Minnesota and Indiana and this Iowa team that is sitting on 6-4.
|19 weeks 3 days ago||We have pretty much||
not played well in Iowa City since 1994 or 1991, I can't remember details of either of those two games.
Everything since then has been a once score game we either won by the skin of our teeth or lost.
You can probably even extend that back and say Michigan has only played well there 2 or 3 times since Hayden Fry arrived at Iowa.
|19 weeks 3 days ago||"meaningless"||
keep telling yourself that, there was plenty of meaning to see in that performance.
|19 weeks 3 days ago||All the upsets||

I don't think Michigan is ready for that kind of stage. I don't think we'd beat Alabama or Clemson and both might get ugly. Washington is so much faster than us and Louisville and Ohio State are probably much better than us as well.

|21 weeks 3 days ago||Personally I would like||
an isolated "Fuck Chart" on the 2 point converstion return. More specifically divided into the categories of "Fuck You Dantonio" and "Fuck everybody in the stadium"
|21 weeks 4 days ago||A game day||
article in the LSJ about how good Miles Bridges is at basketball
|21 weeks 4 days ago||good observation||
Lewerke and Terry both got hurt and left the game, what the broadcast failed to mention was O'Conner pulling up lame on the 2pt conversion try.
State's going to have more trouble with Illinois than their fans realize, and they struggled with Rutgers last year with their NFL QB. Last two against OSU and PSU could be heavy losses by that point.
State might not make even 4 or 5 wins.
|21 weeks 4 days ago||So very||
|21 weeks 4 days ago||I never touch||
this game, never. Been this way my whole life, one game season for one team, one team always plays 3x better than they are.

Useful for before or after the 'Bang'
|21 weeks 4 days ago||I don't know man||
Sparty's got some issues that aren't getting fixed this off season. But jesus, what is this like 4 years in a row they've cobbled together an injured offensive line thats looked horrible all year long into some kind of functioning unit in their one game Super Bowl. So tired of that.
|21 weeks 5 days ago||he's not||
My fav was Narduzzi being incredulous at a spot late in the game that gave VT a first down and sealed the game. Narduzzi was going ballistic, being an ass. The spot was dead perfect from the refs.
|21 weeks 5 days ago||Part of me wants||
yakety sax from Sparty so so so bad. Part of me wants to win with cruelty. Part of me just wants to win.
|21 weeks 5 days ago||I think I was referring||
to their on field behavior and demeanor. 80's Miami was a different level of poor sportsmanship I'm glad is mostly out of the game.
|21 weeks 5 days ago||having watched||
a number of Alabama games, Hand is not overrated, Alabama has such great depth he barely gets to play. He'll be a stud next year.
|21 weeks 5 days ago||I can't even imagine||
what today's internet would think of the 1980's Miami football program.
|21 weeks 5 days ago||Being the best defense||
in the Big 12 is not exactly a high bar, but good for Tony Gibson.
|21 weeks 6 days ago||I believe||
Jim is 2 years older than Bo was that year.
|21 weeks 6 days ago||I expect a game||
like State/BYU, where State manages to keep it close by using clock, being a bit stingy for a quarter or two. Then they defensively cave in after being leaned on all game long by physically superior players and Michigan wins a comfortable game scoring 30 points.
Turnovers will swing one way or the other how quicky Michigan takes control of this one, neither of these PFFF's(that I recall?) points out that MSU has been more mistake prone to terrible turnovers and special teams blunders than in many years of Dantonio.
They will wear down as the game goes on, no question about it. I was somewhat shocked how easily BYU pushed them around for most of the game.
PS, McDowell is the real deal, but he's dealing with what I think is a recurring pinched nerve in his shoulder, goes down in pain nearly every game. Worth keeping an eye on.
|21 weeks 6 days ago||I came away||
feeling Illinois was better than I thought they would be.
We won by 33.
|21 weeks 6 days ago||As long as its not||
Ed Cunningham doing color I'm good
|22 weeks 8 hours ago||Messner||
and Hammerstein were unblockable some games. Terrific defense, that loss to Iowa still pains me.
|22 weeks 13 hours ago||That Rutgers game||
just set such a high standard. This is an amazing defense when 3 plays in a 33 point blowout is the nitpicks.
|22 weeks 1 day ago||New shoes||
for a grass surface, nothing more
|22 weeks 2 days ago||I know Sparty has looked||
like crap, but a more realistic target is BYU's 17 point win. Wisconsin had turnovers and short fields that probably won't happen Saturday.
But by all means beat MSU by 30
fwiw, the worst ever Michigan beating put on a Spartan team in the modern era (post 1950) is the 49-3 "Bobby Williams have you lost control of your team, I don't know" game.
46 seems, actually plausible for some reason.
|22 weeks 2 days ago||A Harbaugh team||

|22 weeks 2 days ago||I had an extra||
M/MSU ticket in East Lansing that went unsold a few years ago, tough to find buyers or sellers around the stadium.
Not a terrible idea to park at Farmlane and Mt. Hope and cruise around the parking lot tailgates looking for extras. You might get a good deal and a decent beverage.
In general though, Spartans aren't selling around here, at least the ones I know. Holding out for their glorious miracle. On the up side they'll be gone at halftime.
|22 weeks 2 days ago||Mike Hart||
was a 3 star.
|22 weeks 2 days ago||The rule||
is you miss the rest of the half you're playing plus the next half.
To miss the first half of the next game your penalty has to occur in the 2nd half of a game.
|22 weeks 3 days ago||With the new Big TEn||
that will take about 14 years to complete the West Division, good luck with that.
For real though, away games are fun in their own way.
|22 weeks 3 days ago||yes if we blow them out.||
I was there about 8 years ago when OSU was #1, bucks scored an early TD and the student section started leaving. By the 4th Q it was 3/4th buckeyes with what was left in the stadium.
Always been a fair weather crowd, they don't even sell out their non ND, OSU, UM games.
|22 weeks 3 days ago||Mt. Hope and Farmlane||
commuter lot. Shuttle service can be a pain after the game with long lines. The walk isn't bad and relatively fan friendly. I usually shuttle to the game, walk back, its a mile and a half walk.
Before the game walk has the added bonus of being able to stop at the MSU dairy store for some damn fine ice cream.
|22 weeks 3 days ago||They lost||
to Maryland, how hyped can you get.
|22 weeks 3 days ago||Illinois||
|22 weeks 3 days ago||eventually||
people will figure out beating Stanford this year isn't a big deal. I consider that 10-5 score very disappointing unless it was played in a downpour.
|22 weeks 4 days ago||Illinois went||
to 4 and 5 wide sets, Brown went Nickel with the extra DB. Wasn't bad to use since they'll probably have to use it in Columbus a bit.
|22 weeks 4 days ago||There was that one play||
|22 weeks 5 days ago||But||
what if we DO score more than 78?
|22 weeks 5 days ago||Michigan||
had the look of a team that watched a lot of game film and also possibly knew Rutgers sideline signals.
That jet sweep Gedeon blows up is one of the most obvious examples of a team knowing whats coming I've ever seen.
I also think it hasn't been talked enough about how hard and how fast this defense played in this game. I know its Rutgers but damn they took it to a different level, a very exciting level.

|23 weeks 1 day ago||its pretty clear||
ND is run by its wealthy alumni (as most universities are now, sadly) it really depends on what the donors think of him. So far at least he seems to have their support. But another year like this one next season and I think the pubas that call the shots would start passing around the buyout basket.
|23 weeks 2 days ago||my understanding||
is A&M is pretty content to be done with playing Texas forever.
|23 weeks 2 days ago||As I recall George||
was also a Miami (YTM) commit at some point but ended up at Purdue/Illinois.
Illinois had decent football teams in the 80's and it was when I learned rather surprisingly that Michigan is their most hated rival.

England, Canada, Alaska, most of Europe
As a sports junkie I'd visit all the baseball parks with extended weekends. I'd take a year and in the Fall I'd travel around to college football games of my choice and complete my bucket list of basketball arenas in the Winter.
For Michigan football I'd rent a place in Ann Arbor and chill there during game weeks and go on road trips. No more game day driving for me.

playing against the faster Pac 10 players
|24 weeks 1 day ago||you don't know||
Sparty fans that well. They'll bail faster than Dantonio on a Friday night.
There will be at least 10,000 Michigan fans there probably way more. I once went to a game there when MSU was good against #1 OSU, I bet OSU had 15,000+ fans there.

|24 weeks 1 day ago||Straight West on Woody Hayes Drive||
is a large lot around the Biological Sciences building. I believe there is even a shuttle bus from there. I've walked it and its not a bad walk, no worse that walking from from Farm Lane at MSU. You'll get shit afterward because they're a holes, but the biggest benefit of parking out there is you're away from the student crowd and most of the raucus tailgating. You can wind your way through Upper Arlington to miss the big traffic mess on 315 after the game.
|24 weeks 1 day ago||Jesus||
I sat with my 12 year old friend at 12, without parental supervision.
You'll be fine as long as you aren't a dick and you realize people will be dicks to you, just ignore them. God willing they won't be in much of a mood to give you much crap after Harbaugh's men dismantle them for 60 minutes.
|24 weeks 1 day ago||MSu LB's||
I was at the game Saturday against BYU, one LB had a recurring arm or shoulder issue though he stayed in the game and another #49 hurt his leg or hip early in the game and came out more than once for it and at one point was replaced.
My uncle who generally knows MSU personel very well had no idea who one kid was playing MLB in the middle of the second half.
|24 weeks 1 day ago||seasons too long||
for grass fields in the North. We play 7 and sometimes 8 games now vs almost always 6 and the season is one week longer in November and start earlier. You simply won't have a quality field in late November unless you spend big money to care for it.
PSU, MSU and Purdue all have great turf management programs, something Michigan does not have. Those 3 schools have excellent grass surfaces and they're able to maintain them properly because they have the infrastructure to do it. The other BIG with grass is NW and thats hit or miss depending on if they get a game played on a wet field.
|24 weeks 1 day ago||MSU's turf management||
school is excellent and they keep the field in terrific shape. Their playing surface is actually a series of platforms that can be removed if needed. They've had a very good to excellent playing surface for years, even in the rain and late season games. MSU went to a grass surface when they lowered to field, oh I guess its been almost 20 years now. Prior to that MSU had a fake field closer the old astro turf but softer. They've never had the modern version of field turf with the chewed up tire pellets.
|24 weeks 1 day ago||MSU's turf||
is excellent, drains exceptionally well and only cuts up after heavy rains.
It will not matter at all.
