I think you're overly pessimistic on everything.
|8 weeks 5 days ago||Alright.||
It's Berkeley... That's fine, but, IMHO, it's not worth potentially sacrificing your career (Pro basketball) for. I was pointing out that the UK board wasn't that much different than this one. I think you could make a case for players not in JB's position (top-5 recruits) for choosing the better school academically. I don't think it makes much sense in this case because there are places with less compromise on the BBall side of things.
|8 weeks 5 days ago||Okay.||
I've made a mistake and double posted.
|8 weeks 5 days ago||Okay.||
I don't think this board's comments are that far off of that one. The decision is a little strange. Just like Rabb's (their other 5* in this class). Cal doesn't recruit well. Cuonzo Martin doesn't have a good track record. These kids may care about academics, but there is very limited value in choosing the academics of Cal over UM or even UK for these kids.

It remined me that I might want to see that (I have ignored that game for a long time). Interesting to see the kid play, but it's still a long shot. It's not going representative of his ability and he missed 4 straight FTs in a short time before the half. IMO that game is unwatchable as a neutral observer. Maybe it's worth it for the diehards.

I don't think any of the parallels are really that close. There are 3 of them on this arbitrary timeline. RR wasn't anywhere near as bad of a coach as Ellerbe, and the comparison of scandals is a freepian stretch.
|15 weeks 5 days ago||Anybody going to actually watch it?||
Here's the WatchESPN link. I might check it out after the Maryland-MSU game, but really don't care to follow Amaker's post-UM career very closely.
|17 weeks 2 hours ago||I'll try the googles.||
He signed a guaranteed contract. He still may not be paid anymore of it after being waived. I'm no expert on NBA contracts but here goes:
Contracts can be guaranteed for different things. Say GRIII's was guaranteed for 'injury' and he believed that 'lack-of-skill' wouldn't apply. He can still get cut and not get paid if they cut him for not being able to get on the court.
So... IDK, but I'm guessing he's not getting much, if any, more of that contract. I hope it works out for him anyway.

The above link is still alright. Frita Baditos is pretty great and very different from Blimpy. Both have their virtues, but only one has a chirizo burger. It's worth it even though the taste stays all day.

Not sure how anyone can draw the conclusion that 2 first round picks, whom he didn't recruit, out of 20+ years as a DI OC makes him "a fine qb coach." Maybe he his. He didn't work any miracles here.
|18 weeks 1 day ago||1 lost, 5 fumbles on 235||
1 lost, 5 fumbles on 235 rushes. Average fumble rate in the NFL last season including all players was 3.7% according to this. Someone probably has an advanced metric or something, but this was a quick google. .
EDIT: That looks misleading. Sorting by position puts him very far down the list for RBs. No other RB had more than 4 fumbles. It was just FLUCK that only one was lost.

That first sentence is really hard to follow. Here is the police report. No one was found unconscious, as far as I can tell. It looks like one of the redacted juvenile witnesses said "at least a fifth of hennessy." I was just fact checking your post. Please don't consider this a defense.
|18 weeks 6 days ago||I guarantee you're overestimating that man.||
Did you read his emails? They were worse than >50% of comments on this board. He doesn't have some stellar educational record... It's a bachelor's from Michigan... In the early 70's... Earning a teaching certificate. He's got a bunch honorary degrees from smaller Michigan schools. He delivered a commencement address at Albion and did this:
His philanthropy appears vastly overstated. He gave a superficially impressive figure to put his name on stuff and did it in a public manner when people were thinking he was going to be on a path into politics. He didn't turn down that sweet buyout or agree to buy his own fucking tickets.
|18 weeks 6 days ago||Exactly.||
I agree with you and Stringer. Being a bad athletic director wasn't the end of it. The man was just as bad at everything that didn't involve some corporate bullshit, as far as I can tell. He was certainly a bad athletic director, but that was a product of him being a POSHB.

|19 weeks 23 hours ago||Brian didn't.||
The post doesn't lump him in with those pieces of shit. They're never mentioned until someone in the comments decides to argue about a choice of words. Brian never compared him to the worst things in histroy. It says he is a POS human being... I don't know why people are taking that leap. He may have some redeeming qualities but I'm not going to go out of my way to find them. Someone brought up his financial dontations a while ago and there's nothing to see there other than self-promotion, IMO.
|19 weeks 1 day ago||You and others are acting||
You and others are acting like this is the worst insult possible. Brian never equated Brandon to ISIS (you could leave off 'human beings' when refering to them), but others in the comments have decided to take that leap. They're being idiots. Brandon can be a POSHB, and I don't think that's overstating things. He's been an asshole to everyone who he felt was beneath him, which included nearly everyone. His faults are seemingly only limited by not being in ISIS.
|19 weeks 6 days ago||This was so stupid.||

He's dug his hole. Who the hell is still waving the Amaker banner?
|19 weeks 6 days ago||Wow.||
Amaker never made the tourney.... UM hadn't been there since 1998. He absolutely walked into a worse situation and this is laughable. Beilein made the best of it, but did you watch those teams? This is so stupid and youd don't even know it. Here's the wiki.
|19 weeks 6 days ago||His decision to transfer was||
His decision to transfer was confusing to everyone, except him and family. He had all the playing time he earned here this year. IMO, he was lured by the thought that he was a legitimate NBA talent that was held back by Beilein's style. His apparent clam demenor seemed to be just his distaste for lack of playing time when it all came to an end. I don't know him and maybe I'm wrong, but he's not a guy I would vote captain.
|19 weeks 6 days ago||85 vs 13... That's a big||
85 vs 13... That's a big difference. The amount of turnover makes it moreso. BBall and FBall are inherently different. BBall has a lot more ups and downs due to turnover. There are very rare dynasties vs still rare FB where we've seen USC and Alabama recently. Amaker didn't develop anyone. In football at least you mature physically. Hoke had some decent position coaches. This is tl;dr so Amaker was a really sh*tty coach and FB is different.
|19 weeks 6 days ago||Look again.||
VERY different situations. Amaker's teams were absolutely awful. Stu Douglas and Novak were not only viable, but preferable to Amaker options. Tommy was horrible at UM.
|19 weeks 6 days ago||Really?||
Do tell... how would you have played the ENTIRE game without your best players and kept the close? The team was a 7 point dog, had a lead most of the game, and could've (should've) won if the other didn't intentionally bend the rules (step OOB intentionally/illegaly on an in bound).
|19 weeks 6 days ago||Horford||
Maybe. Didn't seem to like it here. He would've been a body up front and could've improved. Not making waves like he and his family thought he would at Florida, but being exactly what everyone else thought he was.
|19 weeks 6 days ago||My god.||
You act like he hasn't been to the tournament nearly every year, 2 straight elite 8s, and a championship game. Then he loses more than anyone but UK and he's a deadbeat? Morris, Burke, Stauskas, MAAR, Dawkins, etc... Pick a better coach and go root for them. Please!

|19 weeks 6 days ago||Mulligan?||
I don't think the criticism is justified but a mulligan makes it seem that he's only earned 1 more shot. He's earned 5... at least. And I don't think this counts for 1. Losing so many players to the NBA and your 2 best to injury won't be held against him.

|20 weeks 3 days ago||There are a lot of trade-offs||
There are a lot of trade-offs in basketball, and Beilein has most definitely thought more about these things than you. Your athletic big is getting out of position contesting shots. If he doesn't get the ball his man is dunking any missed lay-up. Beilein doesn't routinely coach guys to crash the offensive glass because he'd prefer to not give up transition opportunities.
Lastly, I think any Michigan fan being jealous of Illinois needs to reconsider some things. Who's got it better than us? Illinois?
|20 weeks 5 days ago||It was not unique... except||
It was not unique... except to Mike Weber. Why do you insist on blaming a 17 y.o. kid in this situation? He wasn't getting true information from a coach that he had developed a relationship with over those months. What is MMQB about reacting after the coach left? There was no indication of that when he signed his LOI.
Also, way to class it up with BEWBS!

You know that's when that happened, right? One-sided is exactly what I would call DI football scholarships. It's decidely the other way though.
|22 weeks 1 day ago||Yep.||
A recruit can do whatever the hell he wants. It's the biggest deciscion these kids have ever made. A few of their lives depend on it and many more lives are greatly altered by making the right one. Coaches are multimillionaires with highly glorified jobs and 85 scholarship athletes.
Plus, most of the signing day drama isn't dramatic for the coaches.
|22 weeks 1 day ago||What are they selling these||
What are they selling these recruits on? Probably a pretty rare combination of athletics and academics. The kid took what he thought was a good faith aggrement that if he kept his nose clean and grades up, then he could go to Michigan.
I wouldn't like it. I'd get over it. HOWEVA, I also wouldn't be saying "Who care? HARBAUGH!" Just me?
|22 weeks 1 day ago||Kid committed to UofM when he||
Kid committed to UofM when he got an offer. He stayed publicly committed through this last miserable season and when the coach he committed to got fired. A lot of the above posts seem kinda off.
I think context is important here and we don't have much. If it was anything other than "We're going to continue to recruit another QB in your class because we want 2 QBs in your class," then I don't like this. Being scared off (e.g. LAYING DOWN THE LAW) and calling 'take-backs' (We didn't offer. Hoke did.) are not a good look to me. I don't know what happened, but I'm not willing to say, "Who cares? We're hot now."

And lot less moving the ball around the perimeter needlessly. The offense moved more away from the pick-and-roll tonight, which the team wasn't great at this year, and relied on motion with a few other set plays. It obviously wasn't a huge success but did well enough. Doyle was really struggling with the sick and it will probably look better when he and Spike are healthy.

You said they were just his bad games. I didn't. The comments were only from his play on offense. Why this comparison to Stauskas?
|24 weeks 5 days ago||That's 10 out of 15 games this||
That's actually from 10 out of 15 games this season (It got messed up when I pasted it from Word). 9 are bad. They were out of context, but in line with my criticism. Go ahead then and prove to me that my original post was so far off base and don't use last years stats.

I certainly was not any of those guys. Thanks though. Didn't miss anything.
This has gone on too long. Michigan won today. I'm happy.
EDIT: I guess I couldn't let it go because it's really what I've seen this season. Caris will be a fine basketball player and representative of my university. I'm not going to make your argument for you. Here are some selected quotes from UMhoops game recaps this season (each is a separate game and the last one is from game 1,):
|24 weeks 5 days ago||I realize that.||
That's fine. Did you compare them at the same point in the season? Nope. A:T for Nik was 2.32 (51:22) through 3 games into the conference schedule. Ast% I don't know.
Zak isn't getting the the open transition 3s this year for whatever reason. 35% is an eFG% of ~52%, which is still okay and should get better.
Re: Last year's front line. If we just compare the 5's:
Horford, Morgan, Bielfeldt: 11 ppg and 10.3 rpg
Doyle, Donnal, Bielfeldt: 15.4 ppg and 7.6 rpg
Translates? I don't care about the NBA.
|24 weeks 5 days ago||I agree.||
I just read your comment above mine. I don't go to the open threads very much anymore. Almost never because everyone is way too histrionic. So I don't know the criticism you're talking about. This was on the front page, and I felt it was overly complimentary. Maybe it was just to balance the other stuff you mentioned.
More to the point on Caris. He's a good player and has had some great games. He has potential, which makes him attractive to the NBA. Do you think he's a better player than Nik, Trey, or Hardaway? He can't find open guys in transition. He takes bad shots and dribbles into bad spots routinely. I gave some stats above. I don't think his overall numbers this year are representative with his only games where he scored 20+ were Hillsdale, UD, Nicholls State and NJIT (I was working during that one and didn't search hard for a replay).
You said that he doesn't have anybody around him. He has 2 PGs that shoot the three really well and can get into the lane (just don't ask them to make a lay-up this season). He has Zak, who is usually pretty deadly from behind the line. He has guys on the frontline that were a lot more highly recruited than Morgan and Horford. The rest of the team admittedly has flaws, but they're not getting called a 'King' on the front page.
|24 weeks 5 days ago||double post. apologies.||
|24 weeks 5 days ago||I may be in the minority.||
I haven't been that impressed with Caris this season. He's been too inconsistent and mediocre for a big chunk of the season. In the 6 games prior to PSU he was 22-66 from the field and his assist:turnover was just above 1 (18:17).

|26 weeks 22 hours ago||Why bring RR into this?||
One could/should say RR's team dominated all but the first 10 minutes of that game. I just don't think that now that we have Harbaugh anyone should be so dismissive of RR's talent. The guy is a great football coach and had a top 10 team at AZ with a freshman at QB and starting RB (got hurt in the 1st half on a helmet-to-helmet hit). Also, he may be the only one to beat Oregon this season... Cu'mong man!
|26 weeks 3 days ago||AFAIK||
He only directly coached one of those guys (Suh) for 2 years. Ahh?
|27 weeks 5 days ago||This thread is depressing||
I came here to say something negative, but it's all been overdone before. This team shouldn't be that bad when it's all said and done. I think an NCAA tourney bid is still likely and this team needs a season changing moment like a comeback win today. Go Blue!
|29 weeks 6 days ago||Not the 4||
Duncan would almost certainly not play the "4" if Cam is there... The system is all about interchangeable parts. 2-4 is really not that big of a difference.

Maybe 2. Think we're losing to Nichols St? NJIT? Coppin St? There are good teams mixed in, but I don't see a tough stretch nor a losing streak.
|32 weeks 4 hours ago||Fine.||
1) Couldn't play his way on to the court with JMo in the way.
2) Could've started on a better one.
3) None of those guys are at UF.
4) Mostly because Al did so well, and he's not Al.
5) Fair enough.
The comments he made when he left were not exactly positive with regard to his experience here and made it seem that outside factors were holding him back from reaching the NBA. For me it colored the prior observations (ie. lack of excitement, not interacting with teammates, etc.) as him just being a bad teammate. If he keeps it up, then maybe there was something to it.
|32 weeks 4 hours ago||Also this:||
He really didn't leave on a high note. Good for him now, but I think he'd get plenty of time if he could continue 50% FG% from 3. It's even noted in that article as a big reason for his success. Beilein4ever.

Thank goodness we got a good deal! HOWEVA, I'd like to see the numbers you're referencing. At over $800k in 2011 (assuming the above linked article is correct) he would've had to be making ~$4 million. This link (Forbes) says Dominos paid him just under $2.1 million. Also this:
"He continues to serve as Non-executive Chairman of Domino's." and "In addition to his service on the Company's Board of Directors, he is a director of Domino's Pizza, Inc. and Herman Miller, Inc."
It seems that there is always more to the story anytime money is discussed wrt DB.

I think you're a very understanding and forgiving person. <-- that's a compliment. I just also think that Hoke is an ass for choosing that wording. Family implies that it's his family that is an issue. He was not married to the girl he allegedly sexually assualted and, thankfully, did not have a child with her. I believe that family was used so that there would be no further questions on the topic. If anyone accepts that Hoke is "Not fully aware", then he should still be considered not at all qualified to be the head football coach at Michigan.
|33 weeks 4 days ago||The athletic department...||
Okay. The head coach isn't responsible for knowing when players are injured and should be taken out? Hoke wasn't the one who started Morris, and then played him until he was broken AND woozy? Who's responsible for making sure the 3rd string quarterback has a helmet when he's now the backup? Probably someone who answers to Hoke.
Hoke is the one who came out on a Monday and gave BS answers to questions reguarding the concusion that was diagnosed on Sunday. He should've known or should've made it clear that he needed to know.
Hoke said Gibbons didn't play against OSU or go to the bowl game for 'family issues'. That was a lie and one that caused people to feel badly for Gibbons. He's done it several other times with less serious issues. He has a choice of being more vague or more direct and he chose a middle ground that made things far worse.

Winning out isn't going to happen, so that can stop. A close loss to OSU and beating Maryland would make this team 6-6... in his 4th year. Plus his embarrassing handling of Gibbons, Shane Morris, and the clock. He's also had 2 OCs and nothing changed, except maybe gotten worse.

Where's the viable alternative? WTH is with you people?

Have you seen him play? A-hole.

|33 weeks 5 days ago||Rutgers?||
Yep. Just a fluke because of that blown call at the end. We would've beat Minnesota, if Gardner had started. We should be 6-3 with 2 losses to top 10 teams and the other to an underrated Utah team.
|33 weeks 5 days ago||TOP?||
What about, arguably, the most important stat?
|33 weeks 5 days ago||Who's joining Hoke on the list?||
I'm unsure which coaches you would be refering to. Few can be considered good at this point, but the most of the others are newish hires. Ferentz isn't going anywhere. Fitzgerald has been good for NW. I don't know anything about Maryland or Rutgers and will continue to ignore them for the foreseeable future.
|34 weeks 4 days ago||You can't be serious.||
That's just silly. You can play either effectively if you have the players. If a 3-3-5 gets your best players on the field and can stop the better offenses, then why wouldn't you play it? The current D hasn't shut down any good offense. I just don't get 4-3 > 3-3-5 argument.

As opposed to taking forever and also doing big things improperly.... TOP uberalles!
|34 weeks 4 days ago||Exactly.||
And we've seen it before. Bellomy, Morris v. Minne, AJ Williams, etc... This staff hasn't shown enough to be given the benefit of the doubt. Chengelis had Drake tagged as best RB before the season.

Seemed like a cool guy who was maximizing his talent and just loved playing the game.
|37 weeks 2 days ago||Okay.||
We have looked bad in every game except App St. BUT! the Rutgers game could've (should've) gone our way and if Hoke started Gardner against Minne, I think the outcome is different. ND and Utah beatdowns combined with overall play and deception make cleaning house necessary in year 4.

How about the depth issues at QB? He was a good option, but he should've been first up when Denard went down.
|37 weeks 3 days ago||State of the roster and desire to win.||
Fine. Putting DG out there on game day is different than total conversion to WR. Thinking that RB is just going to work goes against the staff's ability to evaluate QBs. This staff hasn't figured out any part of an offense in 4 years, and it won't change.
Hoke hasn't really been critisized as a 'puntosaur'. The criticism comes from deciscions that seem like he's just given up.
Where the state of the roster and desire to win right now is on Hoke. "Worse" is the word that comes to mind.
|37 weeks 3 days ago||Serious about the Hoke timeout.||
It's the worst thing you could do in that situation. My thoughts:
Punt block, bad snap, Norfleet dance (before or after return) >> Hail mary attempt with potentially a 6'7" guy on the other end < Going to half time.
Call the timeout early or not at all.
|37 weeks 3 days ago||I really like 'Best and Worse'||
Come on. Devin was going to be your starting QB for 2 years and you move him to WR for one because it's going to be that much of a game-changer? I don't think so. I believe that they legitimately thought that the move was going to be permanent and they could get by with someone they delveloped.
|37 weeks 3 days ago||meh.||
He wasn't practicing at QB and getting on the field at WR. Bellomy was getting the backup QB reps. Gardner was practicing as a WR from what I know. That's really a lot different. Hoke and Co. have been unable to recognize talent at QB (Morris over DG v. Minnesota). Anti-hoke is the right rhetoric.

Brandon did donate $4 Million in 2006... That wasn't all to the University. $2M was to Mott and he put his name on something (he had twins in the NICU). $750k was to the AD, and he put his name on something (a scholarship). $500k was to the SOE, and he probably put his name on something. $250k to the Museum of Art and $250k to name a conference room at the SoB. $250k to the Urology Department for a named fund.

You realize that you're comparing him to Muller, Robben and Ribery, right? Any one of them would probably be America's GOAT. Also, there are different development paths for a lot of players. Green may not be any of those guys and still may lead the US to a semi (or better) in the WC. I think you are being overly pessimistic because Bayern has had it's rather uprecedented success because of those guys, not despite them.

He can certainly do whatever he thinks is best for him. I think what he said was not reality (that he needs a different system to play the way he does) and didn't need to be said (doing what's best for me? no shit...).
The guy was a 2* recruit with Providence and Cal providing competition in his recruitment. He's had a 2-3* career as an individual, but he thinks it's someone else's fault that he's not climbing draft boards.
If he somehow turns into an NBA player, then I'll buy his jersey. Good luck, Mr. Horford.
|1 year 9 weeks ago||Fair enough.||
Horford's "I've got to do what's best for me" and "show people how I can play" stuff was just a little off-putting. It wasn't the system that kept him off the court. Morgan was significantly more limited in terms of offense and athleticism.
|1 year 9 weeks ago||Awesome?||
2010-11 - Scored 58 pts in 29 games.
2011-12 - 9 games played. 24 points. (injured and got a RS)

2013-14 - 4.2 rpg and 3.8 ppg.
He was one of 3 team captains this last season, and I have no idea how he was in practice or off the court. Awesome though? I don't think so.

It's the same distance all around in college. This stuff has been more extensively researched for the NBA and a lot of the data comes from that. It may hold true in college for other reasons though (ie. the shots from the top of the key are defended further out naturally by the defense).
|1 year 11 weeks ago||It says in the article linked||
It says in the article linked at the begining of the post that the NBA hits them at 40%. That's effectively 1.2 points per shot, or = to a 60% 2-point shot.

Horford has played an entire season with this team as it is. McGary is an effort guy with skilled passing ability who is out of shape and probably doesn't have the timing for his teammates right now. I'm making a guess that this wouldn't work out well.
|1 year 15 weeks ago||I dk. Maybe expectations||
I dk. Maybe expectations being too high for what he can do, chemistry, etc. I don't think it's a good idea. This team played much better after he was shut down. He wasn't tourney MM earlier this year, and the team didn't play well.
If he comes back next year they'll be much better off than if he doesn't, but this team knows how to play together. I just don't think he'll have the timing he needs to be an asset if he came back now and the team would suffer for it.

Saw the deadspin post before and the Duke paper is interesting... but I really don't like the latter's assumptions and conclusions based on them. Example: Adjust only the gen population crime rates by a factor of 1.42 to account for underreporting, and then claim that rates for NFL players are almost 50% lower.
They also said comparing NFL players against others making above 200k would be unfair because they wouldn't be close (also also.. data wasn't readily available). Other pro athletes seem like a great comparison, yet nothing.

Really the conference isn't that great this year. There's just too much evidence to the contrary, and we can't hide behind the SEC football thing of good teams beating themselves because of a larger sample size. It ultimately doesn't matter and we may benefit from perception this year.

This sucks. People suck. It's an early February BB game where we run into a good team that played great. Michigan brought their C- game today. I'm disappointed with the effort from (in order): GRIII, NS, JH, and CL on D. Iowa got hot and this was probably going to be a loss no matter what, but I wouldn't be this disappointed if they all played hard. To see this team commit TO after TO and get beat to every loose ball, is frustrating.

What does that mean for him? I honestly don't know. He could win multiple gold medals. I do know that Brock Lesnar made a max of $450k (- sponsors) when he fought in UFC (2-3x/yr) and Mike Martin signed a 4-year $2.72M contract. One was the best upper weight wrestler and marketable in the UFC, the other was a 3rd round pick in the NFL draft. The average career length of a 1st round pick is 9.3 yrs and UFC careers are way shorter.
He may be wrestling because it makes him McGary puppy-happy or to get an education and make a living in something else. I prefer football to wrestling, but he may not. If both were close to equal, I would encourage him to try-out.

To your point about the final 3 games. PSU and Iowa both beat us this year, and I wouldn't like our chances against Wisconsin. All games were at OSU, but they won by 10, 39 and 7, respectively.
|1 year 25 weeks ago||??||
I don't understand. What they really are? 24-2 the last two years. Shit.
Certain teams also get the benefit of being traditionally good because in college football past success very much correlates with the future. Michigan also benefits, as does ND, USC, etc. Yet, in OSU's case, there is much more reason to do so.
|1 year 27 weeks ago||Curious||
Why was his situation so bad? I always thought that he had a good chance because he wouldn't be forced to play big minutes, could develop at a slower pace, and learn from a guy with a similar skill set (Sheed).
I do agree that the team's leaders later seemed unwilling to adapt or accept coaching (Rip, Sheed and even Prince).
|1 year 28 weeks ago||Hate both?||
Does Stanford fit? I honestly don't know enough about all other athletic departments to tell you.
TV money is there, seats in the stadium are >everywhere else, and you have a very large group of loyal alumni. You do not need to squeeze the nickles out as they come back as quarters when you've gained more people with attachments to the school and program. He's not doing that. He's tried to make the most money off ticket sales, uniformz and cheap advertising. With the home environment and TV production values so high that is myopic.
Spending $40+ million on a rowing facility and telling everyone in attendance at an overpriced tomato can opponent probably isn't a way to make friends.

The University of Michigan is not a corporation to most of the people that care the most about it. "Building a brand" is not something he appears to be very good at, and it continues to be at odds with the university part. He's alienating current students (horribly implemented general admission), loyal supporters (increasing PSDs, dynamic pricing, selling home games to Jerry Jones, etc.), and making himiself too much of a public figure, IME.
I don't like what he does or what he says, and I wish there were someone else as AD of my university.

|2 years 23 weeks ago||Right. It's an efficiency||
Right. It's an efficiency rating. He's certainly a more efficient player than Lebron. 'Bron (in his 1 NBA season as a teenager) averaged 3x the points on over 3.5x the shot attempts, 1/2 the rebounds in 2x the minutes, A:TO much better, and stl+blk are ~equal in 2x min.
That Cleveland team finished 9th and 12 games under .500.
It was never meant to identify the best player in a league like the NBA. I think it does help to assign a value to guys like Drummond.
He will likely never be MVP and he can't take over a game like Lebron so it's difficult to compare them. A better, and more relevant question: At this point would you take any other rookie, other than Davis (not yet in ROY comp due to injury and minutes himself), over Drummond?
