I hope GRIII stays as I love his game and match up problems he creates. He could be All-American next year. Howerver, Zak Irvin is going to fill in very nicely, so we all good. 

It will be interesting to see his offense in the pro's. 

He strikes me as the type of guy who gets irritated rather quickly. I imagine dealing with boosters and parents probably aren't his favorite things about college coaching. 

Nebraska is not a good team this year, but I think they are a team that will be fairly decent in a few years. A lot of people were surprised Tim Miles took that job considering what he did at CSU. They have a good recruiting class coming in next year that includes Tai Webster from New Zealand who is a great shooter, 4* on ESPN. They also have a couple transfers (Florida, TAM) sitting out this season.

Probably 4th - 6th round. I think NFL teams would be concerned with the pounding he's taken the last four years. However, he could be a steal if he develops as a RB, adds a few pounds, look out.

Defense should be pretty good, some big question marks on offense. 

Still a year or two away from a BCS championship caliber team, me thinks.

I didn't see this mentioned, but W was a decent mountain biker. I know he did a 3-day race on some fairly tech single track.

I remember reading a lot of great things about him when he signed. Strangely the sites loved him in articles, but the love wasn't reflected in rankings and offers. A classic example of a player being overlooked because of his teammates, i.e. Channing Stribling.

Okay, you got my attention. Geogia, LSU, Florida...a high end SEC team on the schedule would be sweet. I think you have to have at least one top 25 team in the pre-B1G schedule and beating an SEC team moves you up the rankings, losing doesn't do too much damage.

I agree, it's getting better. Wattage is down even though bikes are stiffer than ever and training is supposed to be more sophisticated. 

It's a shame that this happens right in the middle of one the biggest US stage races. Thus putting a dark cloud on a race that Lance helped to create. BTW, I'm heading up to Boulder on Saturday where they're predicting over a 100,000 fans. Should be fun.

I can hit 3.2 on a 60 minute climb, but I'm wrecked and I certainly couldn't do it again the next day. The power these pro's can put out is insane. 

It's impossible to predict this would have happened at Michigan.

We're about 3 weeks from our due date for our first kid. Yeah, I'm nervous but we've taken many classes, I did Daddy Boot Camp (which was very cool), I've read the books and we have solicited advice. Still though, this thread is MGoAwesome and helps my preparation. Thanks!

Question. I'm a competive cyclist and I train 10 hours a week, race on weekends. I'm expecting to scale it down quite a bit, but it sounds as if some of you are suggesting there is no time for personal endeavors, i.e. golf, etc. should I plan on giving it up or try to work in a few races this fall?

I think he's proven he can win in a variety of ways in different finishes. He could dominate the Spring classics for years, battle Cav at tours, even win week long stage events. The kid is scary.

Answer, NO. Clint is too old for Arsenal and they settled on Giroud. Maybe Kronke let RVP go so they could sign an American, but who knows. I thought he was going to Liverpool which really isn't an upgrade these days so I'm not sure he makes that move. I'd like to see him at Arsenal, or a top Italian club but alas I think he's staying at Fulham, which is a good club and he's the man. Clint on a team with attacking and skilled feeders would be cool, imagine him with Pirlo at Juventus. 

Beat Sparty far and away would be my #1 hope this season. I f-ing hate those bastards. /jk

I love the Dutch, that has been my team for several years and they are a safe bet to win it all. However, my parents are both Danish and I've been a fan of the Danes since Euro 1992. I'm a bit of a homer. :)

The Dutch are loaded with top flight talent and given their run internaionally, Champions league play, etc., I think key players will be running on emptly. I'm probably wrong.

Good question. I wondering the same thing but I thought maybe I missed something. 

I'm all for kids bolting for $$, but this is a mistake. Another year of pretty much the same or slightly better play and he's in the lottery.  AND, earns enough credits for an associates if he were to transfer later on.  

I had this exact injury a couple years ago. I did it while racing my bike, took a corner too hot and tried to soften the blow. It's no picnick, it freakin hurt. I couldn't grab my handlebars for about 4 weeks, it eventually healed to full strength. For the next few weeks he will be able to do most everything but tackling and probably some weight training.

So much good and interesting news with this kid, I almost forgot his name is Taco until I saw the gif above. He's more than the kid with the funny name.

There is no better vindication of a players talent then dominating against top talent. Well done Taco!

I thought he was unhappy all year, his body language screamed it. He made this decision or at least thought about it for a while and the turnover had nothing to do with it - IMHO.

I just think he didn't like his role on this team or didn't care for Beileins system. There is no doubt he ends up being a solid player by his senior season, the fact that he could have been a team leader next year is sad. 

Cool. I'll have more opportunities to root against MSU.

I think we should take 2 and move on to other positions of need. Any of them will be fine additions, but we took 4 excellent LBs last year, possibly 5 considering Mario's size and speed, so taking 4 this year isn't necessary.  However, if there are defections and we end up with 24 (+/-) spots then hell yes take all of these great LBs.

Or like getting a kid from Columbus to commit to UM...oh wait.

NE has relationships in TX and now building them in Ohio. Nebraska will be a player. 

Meyer's strategy is to only offer and take the top kids, then flip kids to round out the class. It worked last year on a few kids, but not with Michigan commits.

Seriously, it's insane how much talent comes out of Ohio every year and I'm very glad Hoke has strong ties there.

Though one is enough, the article says "multiple" offensive tweets by Magnusen and I have only read one. I also remember him deleting it right away. Has there been more? Not that this is an excuse by any means, but he was being goaded by an adult Ohio fan and blogger that was trying to elicit a negative response. 

Excellent work Ace, the questions and flow of the interview was spot on.

The statement that stuck out for me is: "Some coaches would be really jawing at him or really angry at him for muffing it, but he just picked him up a little bit; [Hoke] said knew we were going to need him later in the game punting for us again. That attitude, you just have to respect it." This draws a stark contrast between Hoke, his staff and Brian Kelly and perhaps Dantonio as well. I can relate, my highschool head coach was like this, most of the assistants were a-holes, I played hard and progressed for the head coach.

I think the decision is more about playing center, rather than which school. With Fox on board, who is from a nearby school, he may be more likely to sign with us now. I'm betting he comes around and if the offer still stands Hoke will have his signature by April 1st. I hope we haven't moved on as Kozan is a 4* prospect from a very good program and could be our next Molk.
