|2 days 9 hours ago||I view this as a positive sign||
that JH is coming. His decision was not forced by his family. It is what he wants to do not what his family wants him to do.
|2 days 10 hours ago||Great information regarding||
the other NFL teams. I also believe his purported 8 mil per year offer from Michigan is too much for any NFL team to swallow given he has not won a championship.
As of today things look REAL GOOD for Michigan.
|2 days 12 hours ago||We would be crazy not to||
The one major flaw in the Michigan team for 2015 is the lack of a good experienced QB. JH is good but it is not a miracle worker.
|2 days 13 hours ago||When you couple this article||
with what happened in 2011 it should generate considerable concern.
That said, I doubt any NFL team will want to pay JH more than any other coach in the NFL (8mil) since he has never won a championship.
|3 days 5 hours ago||Deal may be done||
but the contract must be signed.
FWIW, Sam Webb indicated we have been here before with Harbaugh in 2011. Depending on who you believe either JH backout in the last minute or Michigan never made a final offer at that time.
|3 days 8 hours ago||Harbaugh took his two||
coordinators Roman and Fangio to SF when he left Stanford. I would expect him to do the same should he go to Michigan.
|3 days 13 hours ago||This Blog has been fabulous in keeping us informed||
and grounded regarding the coaching search. I wish a merry Christmas to Brian and the staff. You guy's have done a terrific job!
|5 days 7 hours ago||I believe the Rooney rule has to do with minority||
hiring. Teams are required to interview minority coaching candidates. The harbaugh situation would not apply.
|5 days 9 hours ago||Does it mean a decision by Harbaugh or||
by the 49'ers?
|5 days 12 hours ago||The college basketball season is no longer relevant||
or interesting. Kentucky is vastly superior to all other teams and making a mockery of their games. What is particularly troubling is Calipari claims they still haven't played their best. One year and done is destroying college basketball.
|6 days 5 hours ago||As a lawyer I second your opinion||
However, I would wager that there is a buyout clause if he prematurely terminating his contract regardless of where he goes. I can't believe the 49'ers would not protect themselves should he opt to go back to college.
That said, it is possible his agent insisted on that clause but very unlikely.
|6 days 5 hours ago||DO you want to discuss basketball?||
Spare me. I will rather ruminate regarding Harbaugh than dissect the abomination on our basketball court.
|6 days 9 hours ago||Brian thanks for the frequent informative||
updates. They keep us grounded.
|6 days 10 hours ago||The team is||
outmanned and is playing at a junior college level. Beilein has a lot of work to do and will prove whether he is the excellent coach we think he is.
|1 week 5 hours ago||If it is true that his heart is with the NFL||
why are we pursuing him? He will forever be looking toward the NFL and liable to jump at anytime putting us in a worse position.
|1 week 9 hours ago||Not funny!||
|1 week 9 hours ago||We all must be mindful of one fact.||
Though many of these sources probably are credible, JH is very unpredicable and often changes his mind. Until he formally announces his decision YOU CANNOT COUNT ON ANYTHING RELIABLE SOURCES HAVE SAY! It may have been true at that point in time but given his propensity to change his mind nothing is solid until he says so.
|1 week 13 hours ago||Making up all the particulars in the article||
is ballsy. Let's hope there is a nugget of truth in the story.
|1 week 3 days ago||Since Michigan has not been openly active||
in the CC search one must surmise that JH has given them every indication he is seriously interested in the MIchigan job. Both Miles and Mullen's have indicated they have not been contacted. Not sure whether Mora has been contacted.
Let's hope Hackett and company know what they are doing.
|1 week 4 days ago||They will not fire him.||
SF can get a draft choice if they trade him. If they fire him, they get nothing and would not be able to control where he goes in the NFL should JH opt to stay in the NFL.
|1 week 6 days ago||Why are we recruiting||
shooting Ninja's when we need size and strength in the backcourt? The announcers and ESPN comments after the game were truly offensive. Though young and small they deserve better.
If they do make the tournament it will be one and done.
|1 week 6 days ago||Either he has told Hackett||
he is coming or not sure whether he wants to. The fact he has not outright dismissed coming to Michigan does provide hope. But like the OP, I am very skeptical that he will come. As I wrote in another post, for him to make this MAJOR career move he needs to be fully committed to coming to Michigan. Since he has not in anyway conveyed his strong attraction to Michigan leads mw to believe he is waiting to see what is available in the NFL before deciding to take a Michigan offer.
Unless Hackett has had a strong indication from JH he is coming, I believe waiting for him to decide on other NFL offers is foolhardy.
|2 weeks 10 hours ago||He hands potential recruits a letter||
which displays the total amount in contract money his last year's graduating players received in the NFL. I believe one year was around $60,000,000.
What more needs to be said?
|2 weeks 11 hours ago||Make no mistake it will be a factor for||
him to consider. He is accustomed to winning and in accepting the Michigan job he knows he will be a few years behind OSU and MSU. That is how much damage has been done to this program. Fan and alumni expectations are he will turn it around almost immediately. It isn't and can't happen that fast.
He won at the University of San Diego because he had a gifted QB that played in the NFL (Johnson). At Stanford he had Andrew Luck. At the 49'ers, he took over a very talented team which management felt were Super Bowl contenders.
Michigan does not have a QB and for him to coach one will require at least two years if not more time. The team is short on talent compared to OSU and MSU.
In short, he will not be walking into a good situation and he knows it.
|2 weeks 12 hours ago||Those who know Harbaugh and close to him||
claim he has not made up his mind. If that is the case, forget about him coming to Michigan. The tug of MIchigan should be strong enough for him to have committed to Michigan. By all indications that is not the case. CLaiming to be on the fence only supports the view his interest is not that strong.
BTW, if he has been reading MIchigan football blogs with everyone agreeing he will be the savior of Michigan football and expectations off the charts I have to believe he may be thinking no matter what I do I will not meet those expecatations.
|2 weeks 2 days ago||Excellent summary and analysis BUT||
my take is a bit different. If Harbaugh wanted the job he would have indicated to Hackett he wants it. Since Hackett is trolling the coaching landscape means Harbaugh has not confirmed he wants the job and is an indication he will not come.
He will remain in the NFL. MIchigan will yet again scramble to find a suitable coach and it will not be a blockbuster hire.
|2 weeks 2 days ago||Nonsense!||
The only way the NFL would allow the Raiders to move to LA is if Davis gives up the ownership of the team which he will never do. The better bet is the Rams going to LA assuming the Chargers allow it which isn't happening.
|2 weeks 2 days ago||The sport information director||
of Duke confirmed that they haven't been contacted by Michigan.
|2 weeks 2 days ago||NEITHER CUTLIFFE OR THE DUKE AD||
have been contacted by MIchigan according to the Duke sport information director. The report of an offer to Cutliffe is bogus.
|2 weeks 4 days ago||He turned down Texas and other offers||
why would he come to Michigan? At this point, I am now convinced JH is not coming to Michigan. Mullen will get an extension and we will be left outside looking in at getting a "big time" coach.
Start thinking in terms of a FL or Nebraska type hire.
