“The player development is the main thing I like (about Michigan),” Williams said. “You can see that they develop their players. They get them in the gym and they work them hard. And their hard work pays off.”

and we have a good shot at all of them, assuming things aren't a disaster on the field. Just one more reason why we need some success this year, particularly against Sparty.
|17 hours 25 min ago||Well my guess is Brian and others wanted a QB coach||
under Borges because Borges was not very good at this aspect of his job (or others) while at Michigan. Nussmeier's resume looks much more adequate in this regard.

Michigan has never and will never get every good recruit in the state. Just like Ohio does not get all of its top instate kids. Sure there have been a few misses that hurt here and there but as long as we are getting a good number of the top instate kids we offer we will be fine.

In baseball the window to compete for championships can be narrow so it was probably a worthwhile gamble.

according to the same article.

I'm really hoping he can be the rebounding, shot blocking presence we have been missing at the 4.
|1 week 6 hours ago||People are saying that because you can't win them all||
Especially when we have been mediocre at best for the last decade. At this point I will take the solid recruiting classes Hoke and co are putting up so long as we start to see results on the field. It's just not realistic to expect a bunch of 5 stars to commit until we start to get it done on the field.

All will be good and the rest will be gravy

They are dropping like flies. Oh well the most important visitors were probably Roseboro Wheatley, Webber and Cole anyway. I know weber and cole are coming. Any word on the other two?
|1 week 13 hours ago||According to Mlive||
his parents were not going to be able to make the drive up so he may not have a way to get up there. http://www.mlive.com/wolverines/index.ssf/2014/07/report_four-star_lb_jo...
So, according to Lloyd Christmas at least, there may still be a chance.

rather than the things that really matter like pricing and the product itself. MLS numbers likely have gone up because their games are cheap, more kids play it than football these days, and they were starting from really low attendance numbers.
Not much mystery there and other than pricing I don't see how college football can learn anything truly helpful from the MLS.

why then do you think ND dropped the Michigan series which is one of the highest rated and best attended rivalries in the game but they kept Purdue? And while the B1G sucks as a conference, the ACC isn't much if any better.
|1 week 5 days ago||No, the new thing||
is criticize any criticism of the AD.
I have no problem with movie nights or fireworks in a vaccum. But they certianly don't improve my image of the AD or the program in any way either. If Michigan was winning and ticket demand was rising rather than falling then they likely wouldn't be doing this kind of stuff and even if they were people wouldn't care. I hate to quote Al Davis, but it has never been more apt: "just win baby."

|2 weeks 1 day ago||Well maybe the point of the suit||
Is to bring public scrutiny to the board's actions to force changes to the board's conduct, the law and/or the board's makeup. Of maybe they are hoping that a different Supreme Court will interpret the law differently. Either way, That doesn't seem so frivolous to me.
|2 weeks 3 days ago||Some of what you say may be true||
But there simply isn't enough depth to play 2 "bigs" together at the same time. Not only is there not enough depth but there is almost no game experience amongst the bigs so there is just no advantage. Much better to play a tall skilled wing guy like Chatman or Wilson along with one of the bigs and keep that rotation through out.

His veteran free agent signings and trades have been just terrible since. This doesn't even phase me at this point.

I can't imagine a person I'd want less to be associated with Michigan athletics. It is hard to have worse pizza and commericals than Dominos but Papa John's delivers!
|2 weeks 5 days ago||According to 247 composite rankings we are currently||
10th in average rating which is a good start. That number could go up or down quite a bit depending on how the rest of our class shakes out which is probably dependent on how the season goes.
|2 weeks 5 days ago||I'm expecting 8-5 with loses to all 3 rivals, the bowl game||
and one of PSU, Utah, Northwestern, etc. While I am expecting that result it does not mean I would be satisified. I still think that is a bad season for Michigan.
Not that anyone cares, but for me to be satisifed with the season we need at least nine wins with one of them over Sparty or Ohio.
|2 weeks 5 days ago||It will be very interesting to see how our QB's play after Shane||
Speight, Malzone and DeWeaver are all borderline 3/4 star types. We have certainly seen guys like that pan out better than the 5 star studs, and so much of a QB's success is dependent upon coaching, intagibles and the offense around them. Two of our best QB's in recent history were Griese and Brady who were much less heralded than even some of their own teammates.

though I think a lot of it based on the need to get content out cheaply and ASAP. Many "news" sites have obviously made a concious decision to put speed and frequency over the quality of content.
|2 weeks 5 days ago||Agree 100%||
I think the coaches were worried of playing musical chairs with the remaining targets and being left without a seat when the music ended so they offered a local kid who is a lifelong fan and who's profile was rising.
What has me somewhat encouraged is Nussmeier's track record of identifying and developing QB prospects. Nussmeier saw all these guys throw live and still decided to offer Malzone when they did.
|3 weeks 7 hours ago||According to reviews I have seen||
Malzone was out classed by a number of other former Michigan targets like Wimbush, Stidhim, Rosen, Towns, White, Etc. But as others have mentioned this is based on limited throws. Most importantly, I have more faith in Nussmeier's ability to identify and develop a QB than Borges.
|3 weeks 15 hours ago||I haven't heard of many 2015 targets attending the BBQ||
is it a down event compared to past years due to fewer openings, slower recruting momentum or am I just missing guys saying they are coming?

Holland's initial success was a product of the great organization built by Develano and Bowman. Now that he is on his own and needs to be creative and aggressive in the salary cap era he is not up to the task at all.
|3 weeks 6 days ago||Holland should have begun the rebuilding||
process several years ago. Now the Wings are stuck in purgatory being not good enough to contend for a cup or attract the top free agents, but they are good enough to scrape into the playoffs, get a worse draft pick and keep the kids down on the farm. The Cup window closed when Lidstrom retired, but Holland thinks as long as the playoff streak keeps going he is succeeding.
