I see your point about tate scrambling and making an errant pass. He needs to learn to throw the ball away in those situations.....but I think when you have been standing on the sidelines all season and you get your chance, you are going to take it. Whether or not people like Tate and his style in the game, I think they better get used to him. DRob is gonna get dinged here and there. I don't have a prob. with denard throwing the ball on certain plays, but it seems as of late, when d's have him contained, he scrambles and just heaves it into double coverage. He needs to learn from that. I think mixing a little tate in will keep secondary's on their heels the whole game....because he is so quick and accurate. He really seems to have command of the passing game and has a great touch on the ball.
Go Blue! Hang in there RichRod and Michigan fans. We will get there. It's just gonna take time.

At times I see our D improving but those cutback runs are killing us. The screens and playaction passes are continuing to kill us. When we put up 500 yds of offense it seems like we should win.....right? I definitely think Denard is wearing down. I think its time to rotate he and Tate at quarterback during games. Forcier is very accurate on the run and seems to have a better touch on the ball. He def. looks to throw and finds the recievers a lot faster.
special teams horrible.
Is our D really going to be that much better next year? At best it seems like it will be average. Dont get me wrong, I will be here cheering them on through thick and thin but, jeez, how did it get this bad. Hopefully this "learning" year for all these freshmen will be our foundation. Just hope people chill the h*ll out and give rich rod time to right the ship. I think he has a future here we just have to get the foundation laid on both sides of the ball.

I'm not sure there is one answer for this thread. Almost everyone makes a valid point about our D, whether it be lack of talent, injuries, too many freshmen starting, attrition, etc. My take...I like and am pulling for Greg Robinson and all, BUT i find myself wishing for a guy LIKE Mike Singletary to take over the reins on D. Someone who has that bad*ss reputation and their eyes popping out of their head...ready to put a helmet on and go out there and do it themselves. I'm not sure stud defensive recruits are gonna be excited about playing for this defensive regime. I think RRod has done his job on offense. He had a tough transition getting his style of players in and converting the I-formation over to the spread. I'm afraid his next biggest recruit may be his next defensive coordinator. Lets face it, our D is terrible. It's no better than last year, and potentially, might not be any better next year. I hate to start over with another defensive mind and a new scheme, but we need a defensive coach to light a fire and inspire. I'm not sure Grob is our guy for that.

First time on the forum here.
The offense looked awesome (despite the stalled drives in the fourth when we really needed them to decrease our own "pucker" factor). I really feel like, because we score so much, that we have the potential to win any game this year.....if we play smart and don't turn the ball over.
The scary part is, how can our defense be so bad?! I know Indiana runs a complicated passing offense, but after 3 years we just have very little improvement on defense. I gotta believe that Grob is a knowledgeable and great coach....so what gives? Is it a lack of talent on D. I mean, despite all the defections and injuries, it seems like we would still be able to be at least average. As fast as our offense scores, we need a defense that is LAYERS DEEP. We dont have that, and I fear that it will haunt us down the road.
Also, just out of curiousity, what is up with Josh Furman? Does anyone have any info on him? Is he going to be redshirted? This kid looked awesome (on film and paper). I keep expecting to hear his name but have not. Is he going to end up a LB or a safety? Any info would be appreciated. Go Blue!
