It was in Grand Rapids at Van Andel Arena, not in Kalamazoo. I went to the ND - Bemidji State game that year and I'm pretty sure there were just as many Beavers as there were Irish. I was also there in 2005 for that crushing loss to Colorado College, ugh. Anyway, a good place to watch hockey and a good city to host a regional.

I had some of the Liberator last night, simply fantastic beer. I've always been a fan of the Huma, but I think the Liberator has really won me over. Short's was in Kalamazoo on Friday offering up a beer tasting and I was able to snag a 6-pack of their Woodmaster. I recommend you try to find some of it.
Released for the first time since 2007 the beloved Woodmaster, an Imperial Brown Ale made w/ toasted pecans and Northern Michigan maple syrup, returns to the Short’s brewing schedule. First brewed near the end of 2006, this beer was originally part of our 13 beer Imperial Beer Series. Hand filled, capped, and labeled the original was only available for sale at our Bellaire pub in 750ml bottles. This time we were aiming to make it more readily available for Short’s fans located throughout the state, and decided on doing a special bottle release in 12oz six packs. However, distribution will be extremely limited, so seek out your specialty bottle shops within the next two weeks, and get ready to covet your share of this very tasty brew. Can’t wait two weeks? Then visit our brew pub in Bellaire, where a select number of Woodmaster six packs are already available!’
Loy Vaught is one of my favorite all-time Wolverines, the guy was a double-double machine. I have his signed player card hanging up in the man cave and I still get a laugh from the 'Tips from the WOLVERINES' part.
Conclusion: This highly intelligent defensive back is the kind of player that can get the defensive unit lined up properly and excel on coverage teams. Look for him to be a team leader and a possible three-year starter.
We're getting ready to head to Chicago for a an overnighter. We'll hit a nice Italian restaurant and then head to The Second City for a show and then back home in time tomorrow to head to the Palace to see Roger Waters' The Wall... this is where I scream like a little girl... is it Sunday night yet?
We have to dog sit this weekend for a friend, so we'll be staying home with the 1-year-old wild man Golden Retriever today. At least they put his Michigan bandana on before they left. I've got my mini-keg of Bell's Best Brown chilling in the fridge along with two 6-packs of Short's brews that I've never tried. Short's 'Bloody Beer' to start, followed by their new Black Cherry Porter... mouth is watering as I type.
As far as the game is concerned, I can't help but feel the Iowa players will be distracted by the smell of the corn harvest in the air. And while the thoughts of driving the John Deere combine dances in their head, Denard will be unleashing the "dreaded" holy hellfire-dilithium Batman!!! offensive attack we know and love. Go Blue!
Hey, remember when ND scored on that 95 yard pass to Rudolph? and the sun came out and the rainbow appeared over ND stadium? and you assumed god was on your side? You were wrong.

Go have a steak at Shanahan's On The Green while in Dublin if you can. Then head downstairs after dinner for a drink in the Oval Office.

That's great news. I'll be at CoPa for Tigers-Yankees and then looking for bar to watch the game in downtown Detroit. Any suggestions?
I load up on New Glarus whenever I set foot in Wisconsin. They produce a fantastic product.

I'm pretty sure that's Isaac Hayes.
I like the "other side" Hardaway pic, but I found one I liked better.
We were in Toledo watching the hockey team play and stumbled into the Maumee Bay Brew Pub. We couldn't pass up the photo op on our way out.

If I start drinking now Pam Ward will surely sound like Keith Jackson by the time kick-off rolls around, right? I better get more booze.
