Date Title Body
????

Avery wears 5 while Odoms wears 9.

Pitt

I believe Pitt took an OL commit the other day. Hopefully they weren't confident with Bryant.

How to stop

How to stop refreshing is easy.....MALWARE

Biakabutuka

Tshimanga Biakabutuka was born in the Zaire/Republic of Congo. He later moved to Montreal and started playing football. What an awesome RB.  313 yards vs Ohio st. Enough said.

Durham

I've heard he's not visiting anymore. I think its academic related.

DE's?

Roh, RVB, and Black will not be on the field at the same time except maybe for passings situations. If you start Roh, RVB, and Black at the same time, we have no proven back-up at the DE spot. IMO, Black is the back-up to RVB and Roh.

Walsh

I thought Walsh was blue until he committed to the Hawkeyes. He is a great guard prospect and it would've helped us with 2012 DT Tommy Schutt.

UCF

He's going to UCF with Mullen teammate Rayshon Williams, who happens to be Brandon Marshall's cousin. Marshall went to UCF.

IMO

Miller is a WR and M-Rob is a S. Marvin can play both saefty positions.

He reminds me of

Pike reminds me of Phillip Rivers.

Webb?

Webb is gone.

2012 DT's.

2012 is loaded with DT talent. Just off the top of my head are O'Brien, Schutt, Valentine, Pipkins, and Godin. Eddie Goldman is considered the cream of the crop but there's a lot of football to be played. IMO, we need at least 2 DT recruits in 2012.

Marvin Robinson

As long as Ricardo Miller plays for Michigan, Marvin Robinson will be here too. They are really good friends. I remember during Marvin's recruitment he mentioned Mrs. Miller as being a second mother to him.

QB recruits

We reached out to QB recruits committed to Pitt and BC and both of them said they were fully committed to their respective schools. What are you hearing on your end?

I agree but

I agree but Drew Brees, Kyle Orton, and Dustin Keller say what's up. You can add Kerrigan to that list after this year too. Purdue produced some OL in the NFL but I can't think of any off the top of my head.

FB

That would be Joey Kerridge. I wish Ryan Kerrigan was available.

Martin High school

Looking on Rivals I noticed that his school produced quite a few prospects this year including an ATH that is going to Oklahoma and a LB that's going to TCU. It's always wonderful to have solid relationships with Texas high schools.

Also at the 1:00 mark in these highlights, The WR broke a couple tackles and had a nice spin move. I wonder what his deal is even though we aren't taking a WR in this class.

Cromartie

Hard Knocks is a great mini-series. Cromartie had like 11 kids from 10 different women.

Seriously?

Please tell me you're kidding

Bellomy

After watching his highlights, he seems to be a decent prospect at the QB position. He makes good decisions, has good touch and accuracy, and he has a little speed. He definitely can run the zone read but we might phase that out of our new offense. The fact that he is intelligent is also a plus. We need a body at the QB position and I would definitely take him in this class if he willing to consider us.

Nice post

Nice post with some solid information and predictions. The problem with us taking that many offensive guys next year is that the 2012 class is loaded with defensive talent in both Michigan and Ohio. I agree we need some more skill postion players on offense, but I think you have to take the best available football player as long as you have a capable bodies at each position.

Magnus--Only 4 more?

I hope you are counting the OP's assumption that Clark, Bryant, and Willingham are in the bag so to speak. If this is the case, who do you think ends up at TE, Clark, Heitzman, or Beyer?

Oregon

Oregon is losing some talent on defense, Casey Matthews in particular, but they're loaded at the skill positions. LaMichael James is back at RB, Darrin Thomas is back at QB, and they have this RS freshman RB, Lache Seastrunk, that you might have heard of.  Even though Luck returns, I still think Oregon is a better football team. I think Oregon's losses don't hurt as much as losing a head coach.

Haha, I do that too.

I hate what I write too.

I remember Josh Robinson. He plays CB there but was a WR/CB recruit. I also remember Jeffrey Godfrey, their freshman All American QB who we recruited but never offered.  Oh well, I am more than pleased with Denard and Devin.

Suntrup

I think we spoke with him, maybe even offered him, but he seems fully committed to BC.

Romeo

I don't know his timeframe but check my post below. His OV to Michigan was his fourth.

Willingham

Rivals has Willingham visiting UCF next weekend with teammate Rayshon Williams. Williams happens to be Brandon Marshall's cousin, who went to UCF.  I hope the nice Florida weather isn't to enticing.  Since he is from Colorado, I doubt he was deterred by the cold Michigan weather.  I know O'Leary is turning things around but we can't possibly lose a recruit to UCF can we?

Miller's Position?

I strongly think Miller will stay at WR in the new offense. He doesn't have the size nor strength to block Big Ten DE's. Yes, he can improve those areas with time and effort in the S&C program but I just don't see it. On the other hand, he would be a dynamic blocker on the edge against DB's at WR.

Rawls

I like Rawls and he looks like a legitimate prospect. However, I feel there are more pressing issues at other positions like OL and the secondary. We have to many tweeners (Safeties/OLB's) so the secondary needs to be handled.

I also don't know how we stand with the RB recruits in next year's class.  I've heard Detrick Goff is a stud and teammate of Justice Hayes,  but I don't know where he's leaning. I also know Mahone is a good prospect as well.

Also, I stated in another thread that when Rawls qualified, he took away Flowers or any other WR's spot in this class. There is nothing behind this, just pure speculation on my part. If I had to guess, I would say Rawls ends up blue.

IMO

Pure speculation on my part but I think the fact that Rawls qualified closed the door on a WR coming in this class.

I disagree

Beyer is a lot more athletic than Roh. Roh spent his whole HS career playing with his hand down and had tremendous pass rush skills. Beyer seems to be more fluid and versatile. Beyer could also play TE but I highly doubt it.

DB's

I doubt we get Raven because he wants to stay down south. Countess is 50/50 at this point. So i guess I would replace Raven with Poole. I don't want to go LB because we are looking good for Jenkins-Stone, Taylor, and Ross in next years class.  If not Poole then probably Rawls.

IMO

Not in a specific order but I'd go:

McClure, Willingham, Raven, Bryant, Fisher, and Barnett

I know right.

One of them being Tanner McEvoy, a 6'5 QB/TE/WR former Michigan recruit.  Sheldon Royster, a 4* safety prospect, also committed to them. The SEC gets away with murder.

Beat me to it about Watson and Banks

Also Watson went to Mullen High School, the same one Willingham attends.

Nice

I would love to have Willingham and open up a pipeline to Mullen High in Denver. They have back to back state championships and are always nationally ranked. They have a highly rated QB for next year's class named Cyler Miles.

Frank Thomas

No he commited to Auburn. They pay more.

Thanks

Thanks for the heads up. It was a damn good read. I especially liked Jesse Palmer labeling Mattison as a "legendary recruiter."  Sounds like we are in for an epic DL class next year.

Ross

Ross is a heck of a talent and I'd love for him to play for Michigan. However, since we are signing some LB's in this class, I think Danny O'Brien should be our #1 priority next year in Michigan. Either way I think our priorities in state should go:

1A. Danny O'Brien

1B. James Ross

Then everyone else. We also need to persuade Eddie Goldman to wear the winged helmets next year.

Suggestion for Tim

In regards to our rapid recruiting pace, you might want to go ahead and start a Hello: Stefan McClure and Hello: Leilon Willingham post. You're doing an excellent job but I was just offering my opinion.

adamum5

I hope there's some validity to your post. That would be an excellent start to next year's class. I'm sure they will be in James Ross' ear too.

Please be true.

I'm anxiously waiting on the Hello: Matt Wile post.

Magnus?

Who do you feel is the better prospect out of McClure and Raven? I would say McClure looks better on film but Raven is more versatile. Is his versatility, the fact that he can play CB or S, the reason you would say he is a better fit at Michigan?

Auburn

Auburn just landed 5* OL Christian Westerman as of noon today. I don't follow their recruiting so I don't know if they held a scholarship for him or what. Hopefully they try to grayshirt Frost and he is ours to take.

McClure or Raven

Even if we sign McClure and/or Raven, I doubt they see the field next year. I know our CB's were below average last year, but we have Woolfolk, Floyd, Avery, Christian, and Talbot back. I see redshirts in McClure/Raven's future. Hopefully I am wrong and it wouldn't be the first time either.

Bummer

After watching the highlights, I kept seeing how much time Brewer had to throw the ball. I then realized Andre Y was protecting his blindside and how I really wanted him to play for Michigan. Oh well, we will find another LT to follow in Long and Lewan's footsteps.

Brewer is a great looking prospect who has some mobility to go along with a good arm and excellent instincts. I'd be extremely happy for us to land him.  We need Roh and Lewan to recruit on their summer vacations back home. They can tell DJ Foster, a Saguaro athlete,  to come to Ann Arbor too.

Double Post

Sorry for the double post

Eye for talent?

RR has found good runners but I strongly believe they were a product of his system. Pat White and Steve Slaton were tremendous college backs that were properly utilized in RR's spread offense. When they got to the NFL, they were nothing more than good backups or change of pace players. And yes I know a lot of that has to do with their small stature.

Hoke is a beast

He is tearing up the recruiting trail. He must be sleep deprived. I am all for it as long as he closes strong. Issaka is a good prospect.

Nice to hear

Its nice to hear that Logan has positive things to say about Michigan. I forgot Watson went there. I've been curious to see what Hoke will do with Watson this year. I wonder if he plans on sticking at DE or a possible move back to TE giving our lack of depth there.
