I totally agree with your sentiment. On the flip side, they'll be state employees so those values don't apply.

Welcome! There's plenty of room on the Bills' bandwagon, even if you're just rooting against the Chiefs! I was in high school when the four straight SB losses started and would love to see my team shake those ghosts this year. Go Bills!

In an interview with Eisen…

In an interview with Eisen last week, Woodson said this team is better if they win it all. I'll take his word for it.

I'm surprised my Bobcats didn't have a drop off after Solich retired. I'm really happy for the team and OU. Good to be known for something other than partying! Oh, and can't forget our proudest moment 😁

He can win a majority of his games and still be a loser. Those things aren't mutually exclusive.

27-42 million ... or was it 23-45? No, it was 24-30 million.

They always have an incredible recruiting class. Bringing in more talent isn't going to solve their issues.

Because OSU fans and their supporters don't live in a logical world and they don't let evidence get in the way of their delusional narratives.

Damage has definitely been done. This feels so much like Deflategate. Going after a good team for something everyone does, suspending Brady when the NFL had always just fined teams in the past, the team goes on to continue to win, but all the haters call them cheaters and want asterisks put on all their records. The jealousy is really pathetic.

Symphony of Destruction brings something else to mind for me. I saw Megadeth on this tour with Suicidal Tendencies.

There's a difference between…

There's a difference between fine and elite. In past years, our RBs would have been caught from behind on those runs that Edwards turned in to touchdowns VS OSU. If we can pick up a proven commodity as a backup, especially with no scholarship limit, I say go for it.

Who is supposed to take an attorney who uses the phrases "coach and master victim and his howls at the moon" and "hail to the victims" seriously? I'm sure they have incredibly reliable eyewitnesses. This is pathetic.

Pizza Crossing in Logan Ohio…

Pizza Crossing in Logan Ohio is a legendary local place. I live within walking distance, so at least I get some cardio picking up my meal. Stop in if you're ever visiting the Hocking Hills. I especially love that my younger daughter doesn't like pepperoni so I get hers as well.

That's a crazy stat, but it's time to break the streak! My dad is from Buffalo and I was rooting for them through the four straight SB losses (which coincided with my high school years unfortunately). This year they'll beat KC and win it all!!

Kodie 2005 - 2012. Our first dog as a married couple and my daughters' first dog as well. We've adopted two good dogs since, but they can't replace this guy.

Now I feel bad for…

Now I feel bad for complaining about my situation. I hope you're able to find an even better job once things open up.

The wife and I are using our…

The wife and I are using our cell phones as wifi hotspots (thanks Ryan Reynolds for giving us unlimited data right now) and trying to give our daughters (1st and 5th grade) access to Google and non-Amazon apps on Fire Tablets. It's going as well as can be expected. We're hearing our district won't return to in class teaching until after Christmas. We're strongly leaning towards home schooling at least next year and possibly for good.

I'm at my desk right now. I…

I'm at my desk right now. I won't say "working" because I'm a government employee. Nothing has changed here since the outbreak. The dumb thing is, we might be required to wear masks when our building opens back up to general population. I know they're to protect the other people, but apparently protecting the public is more important than our coworkers. Also, the mayor is threatening that we may take a pay cut since we can't shut customers off for non-payment right now and revenue is down. We're all hoping it's a negotiating tactic since this is a contract year.

Enjoy your F-ing PJs everyone!!!!!!

I'm not bitter.

Now they're closing my parks…

Now they're closing my parks. This is getting ridiculous. People are not going to stay in their homes or just walk around the neighborhood. It is possible to maintain social distance at parks. I just did it last weekend at one of those that will now be closed. Reckless people will continue to be reckless no matter how many places are closed.

With the number of variables…

With the number of variables in testing and reporting, I have no idea how anyone predicts anything about this virus, let alone saying we'll be shut down for a year. They will literally have to patrol the streets arresting people to enforce stay at home that long. If this carries into the election, I can see our government collapsing if there is some last minute vote from home/online solution. Neither side will accept the result and we'll have chaos.

Ron Swanson wins this hands…

Ron Swanson wins this hands down. I also don't recognize 3/4 of the names listed, so my opinion means squat ;).

I hope you all recover and…

I hope you all recover and sounds like you have a good plan. I'm frustrated because we think my wife has/had it (she has cold symptoms and has lost smell/taste), but they aren't testing ANYONE in our home county. In the meantime, I can't stay home from work unless I use vacation time. Even if I am told to stay home by a doctor, I'll get up to 10 days off and then I'll have to return to work or use my own time. I have yearly allergy/sinus problems, so even if I have symptoms it could just be that. Maybe I'm selfish, but I don't want to burn through all my time off to keep from spreading something I may not even have! Plus things are still supposed to get worse, so do I use my time now and then HAVE to work when it's super bad? There's so much conflicting information and anecdotal stories out there it's hard to know what to do.

I work for a municipal water…

I work for a municipal water department in a fairly large bedroom community to Columbus. My job has been deemed essential even though it isn't. We could function with one operator per plant and guys on call to do emergency repairs. We could even have crews alternate days like the local county engineer's office. Instead it is business as usual. We're supposed to be cleaning tools/equipment etc but (I don't know if you knew this) cleaning supplies are hard to come by right now! I posted details in another thread, but we're supposed to be screening ourselves for possible symptoms and fever before we come to work. We're expected to return after 3 days with no fever and 7 days removed from the onset of symptoms. Work itself is pretty much the same as usual except instead of everyone complaining they can't retire because of insurance cost, they're complaining about Corona. I really should have left government work years ago, but I'm too far in towards retirement now to leave. I think 90% of what we do is pointless. I'm like a much less manly Ron Swanson.

I guess we're following the…

I guess we're following the Ohio Department of Health recommendations (no Ohio jokes please ;) ). I misread it originally. We can return to work 7 days after our symptoms BEGAN and 3 days with no fever. They aren't screening any of us, we're supposed to do that before we come to work.

Thanks for the information…

Thanks for the information. My wife has the total loss of taste and smell, but no other symptoms. She did a video consult with our family doctor and was told she was fine. I guess we'll see.

So you're telling me that my work requiring us to return after 7 days symptom free might cause some problems? We haven't had anyone test positive or even have severe symptoms yet, but I'm sure it's coming. It's frustrating because I work for local government and all other levels around me are finding ways for people to work from home or at least alternating shifts for essential employees. Even other city departments have done this. Mine is just staying the course.

I'm just enjoying how quickly the no politics thread turned into a politics thread. Well done MGoBlog.

I see your point. Out of…

I see your point. Out of curiosity, what would they charge someone with for violating a shut down order or for unnecessary travel? I have friends who've been issued letters from their employers to carry with them while commuting to their essential jobs. My city administrators are incompetent, so I have nothing to prove I need to be where I'm going. I'm not sure if they'll start pulling people over for driving at some point but it would be good to know.

I'm not trying to cast…

I'm not trying to cast aspersions on Harbaughnger's claims, but hopefully authorities would verify the accusation in some way before police come to arrest people and shut a business down. If not, we have bigger problems than COVID-19 in our country.

I can't believe churches…

I can't believe churches haven't been mentioned. I think a lot of churches that are operating on a shoestring budget will close. I have a few in my area in mind that have gone into crushing debt and depend on weekly giving to survive. I'm not sure what the average is, but I know our church giving is about a quarter the normal amount on "snow days". Not sure how long some of these places can survive on that. I'm actually not sad to see churches that are being run as tax exempt for-profit businesses close their doors though. Hopefully their congregants will find churches with more responsible leadership.

I'm sorry, but the order you…

I'm sorry, but the order you listed these things makes me think your governor had "contact" with Klobuchar's husband. NTTAWWT. Maybe it's because I clicked on this post expecting to laugh... and I'm a pervert.

I'm going in. I do mapping…

I'm going in. I do mapping for a municipal water company and though my job is not vital, I'm sure my bosses will have no plans to let anyone stay home. We could easily just have a plant operator and on call crew to handle emergency repairs, but that would take planning and competent decision making. I'm guessing city hall will be closed but all the enterprise departments will be working for the duration of this.

Shop around for local…

Shop around for local/regional banks that don't gouge you on the closing costs. I refinanced around 5 years ago to a 15 year fixed, 2.875 apr, and $300 to close with Union Savings bank out of Cincinnati. That included an additional $50 fee to record the mortgage because I'm in the next county over from their closest branch office. I had to do a lot of follow up on my end from the broker, but for that money I'll take a bit worse service.

Reminds me of this joke my dad likes to share.

A Polish immigrant went to the DMV to apply for a driver's license. First, of course, he had to take an eye sight test. The optician showed him a card with the letters

'C Z W I X N O S T A C Z.'

'Can you read this?' the optician asked. 'Read it?' the Polish guy replied, 'I know the guy.'

This is a really cool story…

This is a really cool story. I'm glad that Tony was able to make himself vulnerable and share some hurt from his past with someone he trusted. I'm also glad Dabo saw that vulnerability as a way to lift Tony up. This world needs more people being real about their pain and other people turning that pain into compassion and not using it to their own advantage.
