Weather

It is also important take into account - weather. Pac10 enjoys a sunny mid 60's weather in October and mabe 40-50 is novemeber whereas Big10 is freezing in those months. Oregon could be a part of the Big10 but playing away games for them would be very hard for them - they would have more losses than just one. Maybe 3-4.

nah

The idea is involve winning programs to end the post season with money and laurels. Having a playoff system makes it hard for anyone to distinguish between say 5 teams with 7-5 records, who maybe ranked from 15-20. But the BCS and bowl system allows one to have flexibility to pick teams as they want.

A playoff and a bowl system would not only piss people and teams off but would be too time consuming at the same time.

What about the Kicker?

Media Hype

I think the whole saga of Coach Rod getting fired is pure media hype and nothing else. You see when one thinks about a Football Program one has to think long term.

To be very honest, Michigan has been one of those programs which has never stumbled in the past so it is very hard to see such a thing happening to us. I think until last year we were all pretty mad that we were not being able to make it to a bowl game. I understand that we have some bad streaks against rivals but we should also realize that its been that one time only.

I mean c'mon even GM went bankrupt once. There was a time when GM issued centenary (100 yr) bonds. The thing to realize is that we have regained momentum. We are back to be a wining program and our march will only move forward. Since we have never been through this phase we really don't know what patience is.

Our offense was explosive this year.  People were wary of our offense and stopping Denard is still a big threat to any of those teams. We have faced a lot of injury/depth problems - for which we cannot blame anyone specially not the coach. We were lucky that Denard inspite of being knocked several times was always starting. He never was injured which was a blessing in disguise.

We need to be patient and believe that not only will we win a bowl game but also be a much better program next year and the coming years.

My prediction for next year: 11-1 next year.

We will beat OSU and State next year. Mark my words.

All great programs go through a bad phase: Texas is, Florida is and OSU will soon also. It's all a matter of time.

We are We will and We are destined to be the WININGEST PROGRAM IN COLLEGE FB HISTORY.

LETS. GO. BLUE.

OSU

The play

The play I like the most: Is when Denard runs the ball. He starts running and take two steps getting closer to the line of scrimmage. And right then he just tosses is to Roundtree, who I think has a inward slant route.

He did it beautifully against Notre Dame. Then I think also against Illinois and Wisco. If they can smartly use that play: our offense could possibly explode.

The only concern: Stop the opponent on 3rd down.

awesone

ur awesome

Pilsner Urquell

or heinekin

3rd and . .

I think the key to this game is stopping WISC on 3rd downs. Throughout the year our defense has struggled with it.

I think our offensive tempo is okay. If we turnover two lesser than what we would it is game.

The game is not going to be close. It i s going to be one sided. Either Wisc or Michigan.

Whether

Whether you like to hear it or not, Denard has been Michigan's one-man-show.  Without him we would not have been 7-3 so far. So if the guy has mistakes, we for sure know that RR and his team are simply waiting for the offseason to space out things and help him get much better.

If he can win us the ND Indiana games, I think him throwing INT (which is frustrating) also needs to be taken in right spirts. I agree with the fact that he cannot throw long. But within 20-25 yd range he seems pretty good.

His running is still good - the only bad point is that when people see him on tape going crazy with running they figure out ways to stop him, still he is destructible and probably one of the most enjoyable players to watch in College FB. He is still a sophomore.

THE TEAM. THE TEAM. THE TEAM.

To be honest. I am not in the game of prediction with my fav. team. MICH offense is explosive. It may be a one-man-show for a lot of people but I still see it as a team game. In the sense passing game would not phenomenal w/o Stonum, Roundtree, Hemmingway, Odoms.

Rushing is excellent - just like it is supposed to be at Michigan since the Bo Era I guess. Robinson is a crazy runner but Shaw and Smith are doing just about right being overshadowed by D-Rob for obvious reasons.

MSU has not played a legit road game this year and we have already won 2 road games. Road games are not easy and I am sure this saturday at THE BIG(GEST) HOUSE - it is not going to be easy. The game is going to be close. Also UM-MSU is always a close fought game - no matter how bad MSU is.

Losing to PUR,ILL thrice in a row would be like a heart ache. I think those games should be W - assuming DRob is healthy.

Wisco is always an over-rated team. PSU to be honest is a sucky team this year. IOWA is going to be hard as STANZI might be hard to contain but our D did a good job last year and we had almost won had it not been for that INT.

D-Rob healthy = 6 wins heading into a repeat of 2006. UM-OSU (undefeated both teams)

Although I am rooting for an OSU upset (2 would be better) prior to UM game

Personal Opinion.

Why Did?

>> Why did the MSU graduate stick his DIPLOMA on the wind screen before entering a parking lot?

So he could park in the HANDICAP SPOT.

>> Minus the last two years. What is the difference between MSU and cereals?

Cereals are found in bowls.

NT REALLY

I think I have seen this phenomenon enough. When Michigan is playing good football, in spite of high prices people are willing to come to the game. I mean come on. . what better than watching an exciting game live. But there mght be an impact in the Student Section but not as much. Mostly students end up selling to other students who did not buy season tix and are just interested in 1-2 games per year.

But overall it should not be like the UM-OSU game last year or the UM-MSU game the year before where O-H-I-O and GO-GREEN GO-WHITE chants were legit.

UPDATE

NEEDS UPDATE

denard speed

Firstly our FG kicking team cannot be trusted. PAT kick is totally different as compared to. If we are on 4th and 3 chances are RR would go for QB sweep where Denard's chances of running 3 yds is high. I mean guy is averaging more than 7-8 ypc every game. might as well take a chance than KICK IS NO GOOD.

b10 standings

1. Wisco (undefeated)

2. UM (one loss to UW - wins THE GAME IN 3OT)

3. NU

4. OSU (2 LOSSES)

5. IOWA

6. PSU

7. LIL' BROTHA

8. PURDUE

9. IU

hype song

should replace as the official hype song. haha

rofl

Good point

Should also consider margin of victory?

The Problem

also lies in the fact that if the game is too close we cannot risk playing any other QB. Cause the QB playing already has that adrenaline rush and is more involved than the one on the sidelines.

With the way Denard's playing he is > DD of Oregon (plus DD was a senior then)

High Time

It's time we play classy opponents. Like USC-OSU types. But BAMA-UM seems like primetime to me.

GO BLUE!

After having read the entire comments list, I just cannot describe how I actually felt - almost goosebumps. My story is def. different from all, but close to @inshallah. I was born and brought up in India. I have lived most of my life in a big city with a fast paced life. I had never heard of Michigan Football before I arrived to A2 - the most I knew about football was it was similar to rugby and I mocked at the sport (football - yet hands are used more than legs).

Anyway, my first game was freshman year 06' vs IOWA - the year we went undefeated to Columbus and played THE GAME OF THE CENTURY. Since, then my interest in the sport increased exponentially. From my sophomore year onwards I have bought football tickets every year. I have seen more downs App State, The year we don't speak about, and last year. So hopefully this year that I don't have tickets we will at least go to a bowl game.

Today my knowledge of the sport, the rules and the history of Michigan Football is much much more than an average freshman born in brought up in the US and I take pride in that fact. I regularly follow blogs and try to get a stream late nights 1:30 AM on Sunday when its 3:30 PM - GAMEDAY.

Even though I am physically not present in THE BIG HOUSE - just the thought of seeing a game infuses in me so much energy. I get goosebumps every time I sing the FIGHT SONG to date.

I think I was really lucky to have witnessed the 500th GAME AT THE BIG HOUSE. My friends in India make so much fun of me being obsessed with college fb and esp. with GO BLUE! which they find hilarious. But I don't blame them - they have not experienced what it is to be in the stadium. They have not experienced walking down state street. They have not experienced the joys of winning on Sat. nights. They have not experienced mourning a loss.

GO BLUE! FOR LIFE.

MOST IMPORTANTLY: BEAT OSU. ;)
