Lived in the Heights in '05-'06 and worked in Secaucus. Dated a Portuguese girl (who are amazingly beautiful I must add) from Newark who insisted I'd miss Jersey if I ever moved. I didn't argue with her, and turns out she was right. Really hurt to see what Sandy did to the shore and to Hoboken where I spent many a weekend night. Looking forward to going back to visit and getting one of those amazing sandwhiches from Giovanni's in Sec. I live in Chicago now and love it here, but if I had to I'd have no problem going back to the Heights, or Hoboken or really anywhere around there. Had alot of fun there and in the city.

Thanks

...for the update. I was getting a little worried there was going to be a problem. 300 sold out- not bad. Should be a good time. See you guys there!

I reserved 4 today for this...

I don't know if they've ever done this before for UM-NW in Evanston. Last time UM was here was about 4 years ago (had a great time). This sounds like a decent deal though for the transport and beer/food tailgate with the ticket. I called the NW ticket office on Monday and they told me they only had single tickets left scattered over the stadium. The woman on the phone for Duffy's sounded like they still had a good # of spaces/tickets left, but I imagine they're advertising for it at the bar, so after this week's game they should fill up quickly. See you there!

any seat should be good...

I went to the last game UM played at Ryan about 4 yrs ago. We sat in the visitors section near one of the top corners opposite the pressbox. Gotta say its an awsome place to watch a game since it really is like watching a college game at a nice, big HS stadium. And you can walk down to the concourse whenever you like and watch the game at just about field level- pretty damn cool. Probably shoudn't say since I'm going to try to get a few tix myself for this one but anyone who hasn't seen UM play here is missing out. Plus of course being just about in Chicago afterword makes it even cooler, assuming you're staying the night.

Guess I'm just too old now...

but I gotta say while Duffy's is a sight to see for a U-M alum or fan new to Chicago, for me it's become to much of a shit show. Alway's getting beer spilled on me. I seriously cannot imagine how insane it's going to be for this night game.

For the last 2 years I've been going to Matilda and I like it there alot. Nothing but U-M fans. Maybe a little bit of an older crowd, more relaxed, usually packed but smaller of course than Duffy's and just as loud and passionate during the games. Plus you don't have to get there super early for a table or booth- I usually get there about 30-45 minutes before and never have a problem. Just watch out for those stairs going down to the johns- damn they're steep. Oh, and I don't work there or for the place- I really just like it.

I know...

there used to be a little one on East U. across from the little galleria where Tower Records and Miami Subs used to be. I want to say the other was on North U not far from Ulrichs (?)

Not my favorite but I'll never forget this one...

cuz it was played maybe a week before classes started and I was about to start my sophmore year but was still in LA, CA (for the first time) visiting my uncle. I remember Friday night thinking ok I'm going to wake up Saturday to watch it BUT I forgot about the freaking time difference. I woke up and turned it on literally on the last drive just moments before Hayes caught that pass. I'd never felt so pissed but then seconds later so happy.

It's Been Done...Once

My friend,

I know this thread is a little old, and to most this might seem so trivial (I must admit here to being somewhat of a nerdy amateur graphics enthusiast), but I had to tell you I'm so glad someone out there feels the same regarding this topic. I have no idea why the official logo font is not used on its own for official school use, apparel, etc. I mean the thing is, it's always been there, right under everyone's nose! I think to most it probably seems too simple or boring (or they've just never really looked at it) but I personally would find its use subtly distinctive, classic, and confident.

See I don't know about you, but for me, I will NEVER forget the first and only time I saw it used on its very own. And in case you don't know, here's the reason I will never forget it:

There are several pics to scroll down on the site before you get to it, but trust me, you'll know when you get to it. Click on it to make it bigger. Unmistakable. Perfectly sized. I always thought it looked so damn cool. And the game wasn't too bad either! It was my senior year.
