With a gap this large between Offense/Defense units, it begs the question of what Iowa's practices look like. How does a Defense that good ever get a good enough look from such an abysmal Offense? Like, how do they keep their spear sharpened?
I talked to the Michigan ticket office, sounds like a very manual process to get the tickets into purchasers’ hands. Ticketmaster gives Michigan 10,000 tickets in bulk, then Michigan ticket office needs to piece the puzzle together to get the purchasers who bought together.
Fat thumb posted too quick. Top 2023 MBB target Isaiah Collier (PG) is set to announce his commitment at 12pm ET. Michigan is in the top 4 with USC, UCLA, and Cincinnati.
Interesting to see that IU's QB Bazelak leads the nation in Pass Attempts (averaging almost 50 attempts a game!). Also has an TD/INT ratio of 8/5...should make for a busy Saturday for the secondary!
The way I see it, teams that had a positive change in ranking from the pre-Tournament poll to this poll "outperformed" their expectations in the tournament. This list includes:
UConn (obviously)
Kentucky (obviously)
Wisconsin (expected to lose to Zona)
Michigan
Sparty (meh)
UCLA
I like being part of that list, though I would have liked to see us outperform more.
I'd say that's likely, so as not to take too much attention away from The Team finishing the season strong. Also, probably out of respect for Gibbons in the short term...
Justin Dickens used to be the keeper of Brady Hoke's truths, probably behind all of the "Devin Gardner has a thing with his ankle, we'll see how that thing effects him." Everyone talked to Dickens before they spoke to the press and he told them what they should and shouldn't say. I assume that's the Brian relation.
The Director of Football Operations is a pretty important role for all the logistics in the program which is why it's newsworthy. Hoke's first D of Fball Ops was Bob Lopez until he got promoted to Associate Athletic Director when Mike Vollmar left for Tennessee. Then Nolan Jones took over last season, replaced by Justin Dickens.
"But the Michigan visit made me go in depth about why UCLA was the right place for me. A lot went into the decision and it wasn't made just for football. I'm going to the university where I fit best in all aspects."
Sounds like "all aspects" has a bit to do with the weather...
Last time Michigan BBall won @ OSU and @ MSU in the same season was the 1996-97 season. I think we all remember the ensuing Michigan Football season... Go Blue!

MSU's campus is literally Michigan's North Campus in appearance. Everything is so spread out and there are huge plots of grass everywhere. You're always so far away from everything: 10 minute walk to most places in AA vs. 45 minute walks in East Lansing...can't imagine how that sounds attractive.
So much respect for Jordan humbly taking his spot on the bench and transitioning to the role player we need him to be. The switch completely changed our game and all the props to him for knowing when we need him and being ready.
This is an excellent event. I ran in the 10K last year and it was really well run. They had a ton of B1G mascots there and I had the pleasure of speeding past Dhani Jones towards the end of the race.
The best part is the last mile when you see Sparties or Buckeyes slightly ahead of you, the hate gives you the motivation to turn on the jets to beat them out. Felt surprisingly great...rivalry.
When I first saw this news story, I was thinking dismissal from the team for at least one of the two so this situation because a lot less severe than I originally thought it could be. It's a shame those two have to miss it. I wonder if they'll still be allowed to at least travel to Ireland?
Man it was painful to hear those guys talk, good intentions but poor execution. Not sure if it would have been better for them to script that (which it really seemed they did) or to wing it. They won't be politicians one day, we know that at least.
Browsing around the website I found that National Champion Loyola Freshman Attackman Adam Pomper died yesterday. It doesn't seem like much is known about cause of death but definitely very sad news.
Maybe it's time for someone to open up a recruiting site for the rankers? Rivals, ESPN, 24/7, Scout all extending offers to 5 star 17-year old...and he picks Rivals. This could be big.
"Gifts are given out annually by the bowl to participating teams and are not allowed to exceed $550. Virginia Tech and Michigan players will have their pick of items from a gift suite in addition to a Reactor watch, New Era hat and Majestic fleece pullover."
Payton tweeted the other day about getting back to LA and how much he loves California. I think we'll have a hard time pulling this guy from the Cali life. I'd say he's a strong lean to Cal.
The football teams managers (practice, gameday assistants catching footballs and running drills) beat Ohio's managers in the first annual game tonight.
Michigan's Managers beat Ohio's Managers tonight 39-6 in Glick Fieldhouse. Don't have enough points to thread it but we Beat Ohio in the first annual. Go Blue!

FatPour in Wicker Park is a great scene and Michigan bar. Highly recommend with good bars nearby

Strickland’s! Can confirm this was the spot for a reliable underage booze purchase
Thank you, Erick! We’ll always have that Penn St game. Legendary play and player.

More tattoos = more playing time = more B1G titles. Direct correlation.

In other news, Ohio lost 7-5 at Hofstra today to move to 1-4 on the season. I like this.
Trey Burke hit a pretty big shot pretty late in the game one time. Wasn't a buzzer beater or a winner but I'll take any opportunity to bring this up.

Seems like it makes sense we picked up a commitment from this kid. His brother Jon is a walk-on WR on the football squad (link).

Mott Hospital is not the same as Mott's Apple Sauce. Classic mixup.
This is just despicable. Which street was this on?

Our boys better be on their game when the Eagles come to AA. I don't want to feel like I did in the second half of that Arkansas game yesterday...
With the pressure on to lock down a starting spot, Brandon really came through.
Congrats to him and he was rewarded with a nice writeup.

Carvin Johnson recovers that fumble on the next play after the BWC mauling. Anyone know recent news on Carvin?

I still lack the points necessary to post a new thread...sigh.
But Stonum recently tweeted a Baylor Bears logo...it's on

Chris Rock was falling behind the rest of his class, hardly ever seeing the field this spring. It's best for the program and future classes...

Add some clovers in his teeth or maybe like a leprechaun leg in his teeth to incorporate ND.

Jordan Payton just posted on his twitter that he's "ready to make an announcement." Timing-wise, this would appear positive for Team 133.

Vogrich and Novak look like they're about to die out there. We need some oxygen to the bench.
From the left it is Steve Watson, Ryan Van Bergen, Jared Van Slyke, David Molk, and Brendan Gibbons.
If he's playing in the Freshman game and hasn't even been moved up to JV yet, he's got something wrong with him you didn't notice...
