concussions & RTP

But he shouldn't play against a cupcake when he had a concussion last week, no matter how "minor."

I agree, only I would think he shouldn't play regardless of the opponent. His long-term welfare is at stake.
The National Athletic Trainers Association position statement (2004) suggests waiting at least 7 days before return to play (contact). And I think that's 7 days after cessation of symptoms, such as headache. I'm sure Michigan's AT and medical staff is totally on top of this.
I hope Forcier, Brown, and for that matter Tebow, all have a speedy and complete recovery (it seems Tebow IS recovered!).

Amen to that!

I'm sure Brian turned the football omnipotent against us by predicting that Iowa was more mistake prone.
Somewhere around the middle of the 4th quarter I wanted to know - where are my Iowa mistakes? (And, please, can Greg Mathews not cover kicks anymore?)

Where we sat was better

This was my first time in Spartan Stadium. We sat in section 125, which is sort of under the pressbox, near, but not in, the visiting team's section.
We had a good view of the field from close to the 30 yard line.

There were a mix of fans in our area, though mostly MSU fans. Most were 'mature' adults. There was no unsavory hackling, in fact, not much family-unfriendly language at all.

I think staying away from the student sections is a good idea.

not a big deal?

I agree with TinCup. Big ten games are always a big deal. And as someone who started feeling cautiously optimistic just as the rain started to fall in earnest, I can't quite shrug it off and "just move on". At least give us a few days! It was a tough game to sit through for 3 quarters - people (Michigan fans, mainly) were leaving before Michigan got that first touch down. They missed out. The last 7 min were pretty exciting, and it was impossible not to feel disappointed after clawing back from among the presumed dead. Sure, Michigan probably didn't "deserve" to win, but neither did Colorado, you know?

So, while it still stings, I think we should be allowed to lament a lack of offensive execution and deride that pathetic excuse for a fake punt. When it's 4th and inches and the coach decides to go for it, for crying out loud, just line up under center and have your QB go forward. And if that doesn't work, and you lose, then at least you'll know the reason you lost was in the fundamentals, down in the trenches, where games should be won and lost.

Pam Ward

What do you have against Pam Ward? I thought she was pretty decent with Chris Spielman (yeah, I know that goes back a couple years).

the '97 Nebraska game...

Oh yeah, the immaculate kick-reception, as my brother and I like to call it...

seeing the light

You folks are a generous, informative, and optimistic lot!
Points well taken.
I'm feeling the vibe and getting my maize and blue shirts lined up for fall.
