FWIW, I was told this by a girl that dated a Cavs player. I can't independently verify the stories because I wasn't there.
At 22 I didn't act that way. I drank a lot and did stupid things, but I was never that much of an asshole. Yes, his athletic talents have put him on a pedestal. I'm sure I'd be a different person if everyone told me how awesome I was 24/7, but that does not invalidate my argument. It's a cop out. I don't hate ALL athletes, and basically all professional athletes are treated like gods from middle school on due to their talents.
This is such a biased view to take. It's confirmation bias. "I like LeBron so I'll see what I want, make the excuses I want, and simply validate my point that he's not a jerk."

I separate LeBron the player from LeBron the person. I'll admit that he's a great player. I just don't like the way he carries himself. I've heard a few stories where he's racked up thousand dollar or more bills at restaurants and only tipped like $10. It was reported on a radio show that one night he was chased into a parking lot by a manager because LeBron left a crappy tip on a huge bill and the girls that were serving him were devastated. You may say maybe he got bad service, but he's LeBron James. No way in hell he got bad service.
I also think he flops and embellishes injuries. Like how he hobbled around in game 3 of this series when he was playing poorly, like "Ouch, see how hurt I am? No wonder I'm shooting .300 and still taking 40 shots." then, in the postgame, it's all LeBron talking about LeBron.
So I guess I'm a LeBron hater. But I'm not going to sit here and tell you he's not a generational talent. He's really good. Just not somebody I'd like to be buddies with...

I don't think a deck would look bad if it were married up to the ends of the boxes. That would lend a little more continuity instead of having an erector set just kind of hanging out there. It would maintain that sweeping elegance that allows you to scan the stadium without having to focus on one aspect. If there was a seemless transition between an upper deck and the boxes, you'd preserve some of that feeling.

Just because the charges are tied to a sports organization, they're immediately trivial? If this was wall street insider trading and money laundering, nobody bats an eye. But because this is international athletics, it's immediately a stupid pursuit? This is a multi billion dollar league that has been systematically taking bribes for years. It's not some cheeky little side quest to appease soccer fans.

I did. We'll see if anything comes of it, but it didn't seem falsified to me. I'd be more sceptical if it was good news about an uncommitted prospect.
|1 week 25 min ago||No. Just saying that||
No. Just saying that sometime the experts try to project too much. They spend too much time analyzing every aspect of a subject, and try to convince themselves that there are things below the surface. I guess it would be a similar phenomenon to the HR benefits coordinator winning the NCAA bracket because they pick Duke, since they have heard of Duke. Sometimes people with a rudimentary knowledge can project things more accurately, as experts get too wrapped up in explaining why Davidson is going to make a good run. I may not know the ins and outs, but I know Northwestern basketball when I see it.

Funny story that relates in only the least tangible way.
When I was in 5th grade, we had a project that revolved aroung this premise - "You are part of a colony that is going to be established on the moon. What job will you choose, and why will that profession be needed."
I went home to tell my parents about the project over dinner. They asked me what profession I would choose. Well... I thought that the moon needed doctors, but I wanted to sound smart and use a technical word.
So I replied, "I think I'm going to be a gynecologist."
My parents basically choked on their food, and would not stop laughing. They explained to me what I had just said, and I was grossed out because my parents were explaining stuff to me about girl parts. I freaking hated that dinner.

Not to further denigrate our players (...as I go on to do just that) but I had that same feeling about Derrick Green. Everybody thought he was a stud, except for me, the untrained observer.
The OP asked in a very passive and respectful way about what he may have missed about Battle. There is no harm in that. People are way too defensive and reactionary. If Battle had committed to MSU, you would not have had that reaction. The herd mentality always bugs me. Before you pile on the bandwagon, ask yourself if you genuinely disagree with the person, or if you're disagreeing because that is the expectation on this site. Had OP said that Battle sucks and he will suck at Michigan, then I agree, neg him. But that was not the case.

Gotta love trust funds. This guy seems to have the mental capacity of a Radio Shack regional manager. "RADIO SHACK IS FAILING BECAUSE THESE IDIOT CUSTOMERS ARE TOO STUPID TO UNDERSTAND OUR MARKETING STRATEGIES!!!"

I work in a hospital, which is far more restrictive. Or policy specifically says you CAN use email for personal use. As long as it's not protected health information. We just have the right to audit everything that's being communicated on it.
So yeah, Harbaugh has nobody telling him he can't use his email for personal matters.

They certainly have justification. However, it may be something that should hit UNC more squarely in the accreditation department.

Bend your knees at the alter or you may pass out.
Your wedding night is going to be a blast. Don't sweat anything about it. After listening to my nervous wreck of a fiance stress about it for several months, we both had an amazing night. Nobody will care if your DJ sucks, or if the dress isn't perfect, or if you flub your vows. They'll care about free food and free alcohol.
Have free alcohol. Nobody expects a full bar, so 2-3 beer options, vodka, rum, gin, whiskey, white wine, red wine. Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite, OJ, lots of bottled water. If someone can't find a drink they like in that, then they can stay sober.
We had Amish food which was delicious and not too expensive. There were massive amounts. I can't even remember exactly what we served. Prime rib is great and all, but people will eat anything that tastes good...
Don't initiate the cake smashing. Retaliate immediately if you get got.
If your father-in-law gives you 3-4 shots in rapid succession before the ceremony, he's trying to make sure you're too slow to run. This absolutely happened to me. Took the edge off, but in looking back, nope. No regrets. I was headed towards drunk at the alter. Wouldn't take it back.

Maybe. My understanding is the "don't quote articles verbatim" is extended to other professional writers as an industry courtesy. I'm not sure whether they want to extend that courtesy to unprofessional writers. That being said, I won't be upset if they delete it. Just providing a service.
|1 week 6 days ago||How's this for an anecdote?||
One Sunday, Harbaugh woke at 3 or 4 a.m. His mind was spinning. He got in his car and drove. It was one of those winter nights in the upper Midwest when visibility is low and even the snow looks dark. Harbaugh roamed for three hours, until sunlight woke the town and houses came into view.
Above that sign is a photo from Harbaugh’s college days in which Schembechler is pulling back his headset to talk to his quarterback. “People think he is yelling at me there, but he’s not,” Harbaugh says. “He’s telling me a play.”
When Michigan canceled a screening of the movie American Sniper amid protests, Harbaugh tweeted that his team would watch it regardless. Headline. The school quickly reversed course. Another headline.
More than beating each other, what Jim and John really want is to be close. That’s why John initially wanted his younger brother to stay in the NFL. He liked seeing him at league meetings and the combine.
Most people get tired of working. Harbaugh doesn’t. Even his vacations are intense. Every year he goes on a mission to Peru—“face to face with poverty,” he says. He calls the experience “life-altering,” and there, too, Harbaugh finds people dedicated to their craft and becomes enamored. He keeps in contact with Archbishop Jose Antonio Eguren and other Peruvians.
