I am a huge Juwan fan. I love what he did for the program as a player, I love the passion he brought to the program as a coach, and I can’t see any possible way he deserves to keep his job.

Warde’s mission now has to be finessing an off ramp for Big Nook. Sometimes, frankly, things just don’t work out. Maybe none of this is Juwan’s fault, and still, that doesn’t matter. He should be looking to help Warde locate that off ramp as it benefits all parties for the exit to be graceful.

Lol. Nah, former 3rd rate IM baller here. I came onto campus with the Fab 5. His nickname (as for each of theirs) would be posted on the scoreboard after each made basket. So, pretty much any student of that era (who went to games) would know him as Big Nook.

3 turnovers already for…

3 turnovers already for TWill (to go with his bad defense and terrible shot selection). Impressive.

Amen re: Chompies.
Anyone who thinks it’s good is likely a big fan of bagels from Einstein and brings ham salad to lunch every day.

Chompies is one of the worst…

Chompies is one of the worst delis I’ve ever been to. It’s so bad it shouldn’t be allowed to be called a “deli”.  That said, its Phoenix and deli choices are kinda nonexistent.

This type of nonsense is…

This type of nonsense is pretty much the opposite of what this board is about. If you want to push right wing, anti-democratic, anti-American propaganda, and whine about the teaching of history (despite your feared CRT that isn't taught in any elementary school on earth) do you. Just save it for your cult meetings.

Some of your assumptions…

Some of your assumptions seem a bit off to me. For example, you said that the current "vertical slope of the curve" began 3 weeks ago and that FL was late to the Delta party, but FL was one of the earlier Delta states, sending its infected around the nation, including to states like Michigan (which is finally seeing a reduction in Delta cases, just in time for Omicron). Further, the vertical slope of the curve in FL began less than two weeks ago.

It can be very hard to tell what's going on in FL as they stopped reporting county-level data long ago. Maybe Miami-Dade is reporting their own data in spite of Gov. DeSantis blocking county-level reporting? Also, FL has been suppressing their death counts, often times reporting daily deaths in the single digits despite case counts that (based on other states' case counts) would have meant deaths in the triple digits.

Short version - it's very difficult to know what's up in FL as the state government has done its best to ensure accurate data is not available. Hopefully, the Omicron wave will be a quick one and that it takes only the unvaxxed.

Most importantly, hopefully Michigan crushes UGA, then Bama, becoming Big Ten Champs, SEC Champs and National Champs!! Go Blue!

I think the reason that…

I think the reason that State fans are so (extra) obnoxious after this win is that they know why they won; they can't admit it to themselves; and they know which direction these two programs are heading.

They know that we're building a monster, and that their rent-a-team got more breaks than Kurtis Blow. Take any of the terrible calls back and we win that game. State knows that. We're returning a monster next year and they're returning a handful of peanut shells. The refs might have gotten us, but karma will handle State. In the meantime, we are the Greatest University in the World - with a great future for the program.

Why does the time matter?…

Why does the time matter? Because it gets colder (sometimes, much colder) at night. It's a lot more fun to watch a spring "game" if it isn't freezing. And the turnout would be far more impressive with an early afternoon start.  (because not many people want to sit in the cold, at night, to watch a practice)

You're probably right, and I…

You're probably right, and I don't think our "game" has been broadcast live lately anyway. Maybe they'll end up moving it earlier in the day if TV doesn't line up.

I don't know about the date,…

I don't know about the date, but the time...?  Sure wish it were noon, 1pm, 2pm, even 3pm. The later is gets, the colder it gets. As someone who just wants to bring my young kids for a fun day of Michigan football in the (hopefully) sun, 5pm is a drag.

I can understand people here…

I can understand people here being down on Cooley, and I would be too if I didn’t know folks who have worked with him. This dude is loved. Loved. Basketball people respect the hell out of him

And if he comes here, I’d expect a couple of 5* recruits every season. Look how he recruited to Providence.  Providence!! And he did it all properly. He’d fit the ethical culture we demand. We’ll never get an X’s & O’s coach as good as JB, but we can get a good, honest coach who brings in better talent. Developing 3/4 stars into 2 & done’s is nice but only one coach can do that...and he’s done with the ncaa.

Does that mean Cooley is my #1? Not really. In my fantasy world, we pay a ton of loot to lure him out to assist under Big Nook. Won’t happen, but would be sweet.

A buddy and former in…

A buddy and former in-conference coach told me that Matta was super dirty, worst in the conference. He didn’t say that about any other coach in the conference. So, if the direct words of another coach don’t do it for you....

Not many people know this,…

Not many people know this, but John Beilein has been a head coach his entire career! He's never been an assistant coach at any level!!

This has been a long, long…

This has been a long, long road to repairing the rift. It's amazing how many times the "reunion" (not just Fab 5, but school + Webb) has almost happened only to be derailed out of the blue by random events. Fingers crossed all goes well this time.

Bottom line - Webb wants to be back; Michigan wants him back; and arguably the best player ever to hoop in A2 needs to be a part of the Michigan family again.

Hopefully I'm wrong, but it

Hopefully I'm wrong, but it sounds like your upgrade "window" is coming, not that you're going to have available prime seats to choose from.  My window was last week and nothing was open (maybe a couple of very high up single seats) near the 50.

I can understand anyone being

I can understand anyone being frustrated with Dakich (as pretty much all UofM fans were before his kid saw the light), but for a coach to whine about Dakich's twitter trolling antics?  Seriously?  Oh wait, it's Izzo.  Nevermind.  I can see him whining about anything, but I'd really like to see him at a wine tasting so that he could whine about wine.  That seems fitting.

Obligatory

Obligatory, don't take yourself so seriously.

He's also interning for Kelly

He's also interning for Kelly Anne Conway this summer.

Oh please. He had 18 TDs and

Oh please. He had 18 TDs and 11 interceptions that year and, as a senior had 9 and 9.  I'm not even getting into his fumbles here.

He is/was an incredibly talented and great guy, but if he wanted to play QB under Jim, he'd have to prove he could protect the football.  Jim plays team football and while Denard is a team player, the offense created to highlight Denard is kinda the opposite of "team".

Amateurs!!
I'll be gaining
Amateurs!! I'll be gaining piles of "awww, such a good husband" points after telling the wife that I'm going to skip watching the Michigan game. "Really, you aren't going to watch?" "Look, I'm sure you could use my help around the house and I'd rather spend time with you than watch the game today." This plan helps if your wife doesn't follow the team. :)
Maybe I overstated the

Maybe I overstated the downsides as I selfishly don't want it to get too crowded.     :)

I'll likely stop by this week and chat with Brian if I see him, but they know what they're doing.  The televisions are a bonus as it's just nice to be able to hang out on gameday and have a beer for a good cause.

(I might be in the minority here, but I'd pay more for the beer given the perfect location and the charity)

I think I learned about this

I think I learned about this via someone's RT on Twitter and, otherwise, never would have known.  I always like to walk down Hoover toward the Stadium, and the lack of options for a beer along the path has been a drag....until now!

I was really excited for some Slow's before the game as well, but (and I'm a fan of Slow's) it wasn't great.  The choices were super limited (even for a food truck) and food wasn't great...but it was a hell of a lot better than a hot dog or slice of pizza.  The folks working the event are super nice and there are plenty of beer options.

This is the type of thing that should be packed, but wasn't.  You can get a beer with little to no wait.  I didn't even notice televisions, bathrooms, etc.  I'm sure I'll be stopping in here again before PSU (and/or every game).  Almost hope it doesn't get too crowded, but that wouldn't exactly be great for the charity benefitted...so folks, get in there, enjoy a beer and do some good at the same time.

Barely beat a bad DII team

Barely beat a bad DII team and make a jump?  Eh, whatever, it'll just make for an even larger fall when they get trucked by ND.

Very cool indeed.  What looks

Very cool indeed.  What looks like a font mistake is actually on purpose, and is a nod to diversity at UofM.  Well done.

Now, if we can just find a deeper meaning for the fact that we have a dunking NC basketball player on our football jerseys...

That 4 looks to have a

That 4 looks to have a mullet.

Would love a post-game

Would love a post-game conference to go something like:

Q:   Jim, why did you feel a need to go for it on 4th & 1 from the MSU 20 with only 11 seconds left?
A:  Because we wouldn't have been able to score 100 if I didn't.

Q:  Was it really necessary to slap Coach Dantonio on the back so hard?  They say you might have broken a rib.
A:  Just one?

Good point.  I used to wear

Good point.  I used to wear the Champion stuff from Moe's, but the first doesn't really work for me (post mid-90s).  It's generally too wide/baggy, but I do like their simple "MICHIGAN" and don't mind the little "C" near the cuff.

It'd be nice if the Jumpman

It'd be nice if the Jumpman logo were properly scaled.  No reason it should be as large as the block M.  Oh well, not like I'd be buying it anyway.  I don't think I have any branded stuff; the only good apparel (for me) is unbranded stuff from Underground Printing.

As I've said for years, the

As I've said for years, the apparel companies all make crap; it's up to the school to make sure that the uniform on the field is clean, simple and "Michigan".  These pieces they've dropped so far are not my favorite, but I'm old fashioned - I prefer my "M" to be bigger than the logo of a basketball player I hated.

Too bad it wasn't consensual Too bad it wasn't consensual sex; Ken Starr would've spent years and millions of dollars to punish the players.
If you want to look like you

If you want to look like you know better than anyone:

http://royalrosesyrups.com/

It's a company in NY but with Michigan roots and their products are great.  In general though, whatever non-standard liquor you put on a bar should be designed to look good covered in dust.

He looks very athletic and

He looks very athletic and powerful.  A dunker and rebounder...?  Maybe JB is looking at him to keep a seat on the bench warm while an oafy, soft dude with wet hands gets all the minutes (and loses all the rebounds/misses layups that should be dunks).

JB is a year late on all his

JB is a year late on all his roster fixes.  We got Doyle, Donnel and the new pack of middling bigs because he finally realized you need size in the B1G.  In doing so, he forgot you also need athletes AND bigs (whose hands aren't coated with oil).

I hear ya.
Chatman is a

I hear ya.
Chatman is a guy who had tons of potential (though maybe not really 5* potential) and I think he was a victim of system-ball.  Would've loved to see him play on a run/gun team with multiple athletes.  Instead, he rotted on the bench for a team seemingly a year or two late in fixing roster issues.

All four names were typed

All four names were typed from your parents' basement?

So our coach, who is

So our coach, who is excellent at developing the 1 through 3, finds himself with tons of empty holes at the 1-3, a mismatched 4 and a mass of junk at the 5.  How did this happen?

This is for la raza!!

This is for la raza!! Oh wait, I thought you said Kid Frost.
Love Jim but if an early

Love Jim but if an early spring game wasn't bad/cold enough, he decided to do it at night.  Attendance might not even break 10K.

Well, look, we all know that Well, look, we all know that one of those fouls was a terrible, game-changing call and another just a bad call. Still, he didn't foul out and maybe would've learned to avoid whistles if given more minutes during the season.
That all makes sense, but he

That all makes sense, but he was still better than Doyle and (but for a couple games) better than Donnel, who was also frequently out of position.

What I find weird is that Beilein has really been masterful is adjusting his scheme to fit his talent but, despite that, he's still often very rigid with certain aspects of his coaching.  Auto-bench being one such point, and it seems Wagner earned an auto-bench throughout the entire B1G season just because he might foul if he ever saw the court.  I'd take the "might foul" guy with heart over the can't-defend-and-will-miss-layup-guys any day.

...it was very apparent who

...it was very apparent who Michigan's best big man was at the end of the season and it wasn't Donnal.

Watching the bigs in the non-conference portion of the season it also looked like Wagner was the best, and then Beilein disappeared him for conference play.  It sure would have been nice to have a guy with heart on the floor rather than a tomato with greasy hands.

Wow, it's like a Silky

Wow, it's like a Silky Johnson convention in this thread!

I get that folks might not love his movies (though I disagree wholeheartedly) but how in the world could anyone say an animated, adult movie about food learning it gets eaten once out of the supermarket isn't creative?  That just doesn't even make sense.  It's like saying that Beilein is the master of strong interior post play or that Harbaugh should get on Twitter.

And thus, Cassius (who I

And thus, Cassius (who I would have loved to see in A2), will go to the strip mall known as East Lansing where he can continue to the path of the many point guards Tom Izzo has developed there.  I've attached a list of the same.

Seems like he just wants a Seems like he just wants a little fun/attention. If so many people are willing to pay endless attention to this...why not? Enjoy the spotlight, youngster. Then, go blue.
Seems like a good time to

Seems like a good time to remind the Nike fans (or Adidas, if any...and UA) that all apparel companies make garbage.  The most important factor of any deal is the university having the right to veto junk like this.

Nah, as soon as Rich gets

Nah, as soon as Rich gets Casteel to AZ (without Carr coming in and screwing everything up), he's going to win the NC!

Was it really a joke?  (I

Was it really a joke?  (I hope it was)
I was without Sirius radio yesterday and listened (briefly) to both 97.1 and 105.1.  It was intolerable.  Didn't know that the separated-at-birth twins, Drew Sharp and Terry Foster are on the air, at the same time, on different stations.  Combine that with Valenti and it's insane how much Michigan hate goes on.

Both stations were fuming about how awful this was, how it crossed the line, how the parents are terrible, how Dantonio would use this against Harbaugh, etc.  To me, the notion was creepy but that was about it.  Glad to hear it was (hopefully) a joke, but happier if that joke was on Sharp, Foster and Valenti.

I understand "cheating,

I understand "cheating, money, girls, etc", but I can't wrap my mind around the fact that any young, black student athlete would ever want to play for the notoriously racist Ole Miss.  Hell, I don't understand how any non-racist person of any ethnicity would ever want to attend or support that school.  The mascot is a fucking plantation owner.  It's crazy.
