Looks like I wasn't 100% correct. He

doesn't lose his scholarship, but he does lose money that could be used to take summer courses.  I guess I shouldn't pretend to understand all of the nuances of these arrangements, especially with the new stipends recently approved.  Insert inappropriate money from boosters joke here...

I prefer 3:30. However...

...I do like the fact that there is 3.5 hours less of waiting around for The Game to start.

Two weeks is customary/mandatory for felonies.

One week for these type of violations is typical.  It is also right in line with the punishments applied by other schools for the same offense.

And the loss of financial aid is also consistent with what Urban Meyer has done since at OSU.  It is not loss of scholarship, just the financial aid (which I believe is the stipend they get to help with living expenses).

One game is appropriate, so why should that be expected?

Check any number of similar cases in recent years at other schools, and one game is the norm.  Including at the University of Michigan...see Graham Glasgow.

The jury is still out, but he looked at least capable.

And capable is a vast improvement over what he has shown in the past during mop-up duty, emergency relief, and even in scrimmages.

Just don't quote Brian Kelly and you should be OK.

I don't know if that guy can get out a sentence during the game that doesn't include 3 or 4 F-bombs.

The ND "holier-than-thou" crowd has to love this guy being the face of their university on Saturdays.

Screw ESecPN

Not much would please me more than seeing the ESPN empire come crumbling down.

Caught Craig James on one of the ESPN Radio shows last week.

They were talking about the Miami scandal and comparing it to the SMU situation.  Craig James tried to downplay the SMU situation and essentially said that he had no idea anything shady was going on.  He also said that he considered the booster at the heart of the scandal to be a close friend, but he didn't suspect him of doing anything improper.

I call serious B.S. on that....

Has the B1G released anything on trophies for division winners?

To be on par with the division names, they should be something resembling the cheap plastic trophies awarded to little league teams.  Or something as ridiculous as the rejected Cy-Hawk Trophy.

Better or worse than sex with a horse?

A Michigan man, John Robert Mester, has been accused of having sex with a horse twice...

Mester, 62, of Riley Township, Michigan, was caught in sexual intercourse with a mare in his neighbor's pasture.  Police records show Mester has one other count of bestiality with a horse from 2001.
