I have to partially disagree here. He's not just talking about what's happening on the field and why. There's going to be sound-bites of "this kid is X" and "I've studied film on this guy and I think he's Y." It's those bites that I can't take seriously because of his history with evaluating talent and that will have me cringing every time I hear it.
Chris Collinsworth knows X's and O's but that doesn't mean I don't want to chew on nails every time I hear him talk.

While I agree with the spirit of what you're saying, I'll take anything that gets Americans to watch/participate in soccer-type things more.

Agreed. They also have a lot of cap tied up in Cole, Ryans, and Barwin. They could potentially let one of them go, free up $7M more in cap space, and be major players in the Suh lottery.

Came here for this one. I work with two South Carolina fans and got bombarded with texts when that happened. I was like "....yeaaaahhhh.... that's not a first down"
Couldn't even be mad about the hit on Smith. Just a shame he had to pay the price to the football gods.

I'm surprised people here are still using the term "inferior competition" after the last few years. This isn't 2006 anymore. We haven't had the luxury of writing teams off for quite a while now.
This coaching administration is going to be fighting an uphill battle with unf-ing whatever it is the Hoke regime has done to the lines/QBs as well as trying to find a WR that can come up with any sort of separation. There's a chance this could turn out into a year-one success story but something like 8 wins (which is still decent) should be a more realistic goal.

As a vet (not wounded), I wouldn't want them. Have them go to Eielson Air Force Base to train with the arctic survival SERE specialists for a while if you think they need a little taste of military culture. Had a couple friends flunk out of that school. Said it was the most miserable thing they've ever tried.

Can be used as references in a resume or as leverage in contract negotiations for pay raises.
He could also just be an egotistic prick who can't handle being wrong. Either way, there's plenty of reasons to do it outside of trying to show off to the few people who take these things seriously enough to go back and look at past ones.

KSR is as legit as this blog. 2 of my best friends are from Lexington and they treat KSR as the word of god. I'm not saying they're 100% in this instance but, if they're reporting it, I'd feel comfortable putting my money on it.

Maybe it's because I just don't like his personality but I think Jeff Moss has been the worst of the beat writers. He's been awfully petty and has resorted to name-calling on his twitter account a few times. It's not that his coverage has been crap, just his attitude during the whole thing.
Kawakami takes the cake for the whole thing though. Not getting bent out of shape either way. We got what we wanted.
