Has anybody seen the old man out and about yet? Their calendar says it's released in July, I haven't seen any in my local spot yet.
|33 weeks 3 days ago||He did get another||
10 day contact today
|34 weeks 3 days ago||I'm just telling him||
|34 weeks 3 days ago||Because||
the majority of NFL teams are counting on 1-2 starters and multiple contributors out of each draft. In MLB and NHL they're not even expecting to see them on the parent club for years. It would be much more damaging to pin your hopes on the whims of 21 year olds in football.
|34 weeks 5 days ago||Read your previous post again||
You said he was in complete control the while night...his first quarter was pretty nightmarish
|1 year 7 weeks ago||Well..||
They would have to drop someone from the 40 man roster if they do call him up, so there's a bit if risk. I am pulling for him though
|1 year 16 weeks ago||Sorry..||
but having played against Woodson in high school I'm forced to point out that Fremont is in northwest Ohio, not northeast. There, I feel better..
|1 year 21 weeks ago||Quite an embarrassing..||
blunder on the author's part, mixing up Fremont OH and Fremont CA. Especially since he followed it up with the anecdote about Woodson claiming not to know where Napa Valley was.
|2 years 22 weeks ago||It's a good thing Udoh was||
It's a good thing Udoh was able to hone his offensive skills in a "real" basketball conference to prepare himself for great success on the offensive side of the ball in the NBA.
|2 years 22 weeks ago||Totally Off-Topic..||
but I can't create a new thread. Did anyone catch the comment in the McGary article about his recruiting rankings?
"maybe it was the constant bout with plantar fasciitis, a foot affliction that has bothered McGary since the seventh grade."
Uhh, that sucks. Was this known? First I've heard of it.
|2 years 25 weeks ago||Well,||
I'm not calling you an ignorant person, just in your knowledge of Austin Rivers and his draft stock. It's not an insult.
|2 years 25 weeks ago||I actually||
read that he was measured at 6'5" in shoes at a camp. Maybe the fact that you think I'm basing this on just one shot shows a lack of understanding on your part of the season he had, and his skill level, and excuses your ignorance.
Bottom line, I feel absolutely comfortable in guaranteeing that Rivers will be projected ahead of Burke and knock him down a peg. Where Burke actually does end up being ranked, and if he's better than 74th (of course he is) isn't relevent to our discussion.
|2 years 25 weeks ago||6'4" vs 5'11"||
That's all you need to know. Rivers will be a lottery pick.
|2 years 25 weeks ago||I agree||
Austin Rivers going pro clearly improves Burke's draft stock. Clearly.
|2 years 43 weeks ago||Clearly||
the guy who took this picture did something obscene to get the three coaches looking his way attention.
|3 years 10 weeks ago||Are all||
Polish people dumb?
|3 years 10 weeks ago||Pretty sure||
Manningham ran a 4.59 at the combine as well. Not too worried about it.
Edit: This was supposed to be in reply to the Stanford topic
|3 years 18 weeks ago||It's sad that a Michigan fan||
It's sad that a Michigan fan has to try this hard to talk himself into feeling good about good things happening to Michigan. Large portions of this post could have shown up on a Buckeye message board and nobody would have batted an eye.
|3 years 19 weeks ago||I understand what you're saying||
but this discussion is about in-state recruiting, so I was only talking about in-state recruiting (there have been plenty of other posts/threads lamenting Carr's recruiting overall in his last few years.) And again, if they supposedly got everyone they wanted to get - outside of one year - I don't see how that comment makes sense.
|3 years 19 weeks ago||I'm assuming||
|3 years 19 weeks ago||I'm assuming||
he was, like I, just referring to in-state recruiting so the 2007 games aren't relevant.
I understand that 2008 is partly Carr's class, but I have a hard time counting any head to head losses against him when he didn't have the opportunity to finish the class off. Not implying he would or wouldn't have gotten Smith or Hoover, it just doesn't make sense to include them.
|3 years 19 weeks ago||Hmm||
"Michigan lost its grip on instate recruiting late in the Carr era"
So does late in the Carr era refer only to 2007, the year everyone in the world knew Carr was retiring? Because by Brian's admission in the first piece, Michigan got everyone they wanted in 2005-6, so the grip was fine then.
|3 years 28 weeks ago||Remember, Carr was actually||
running a zone blocking scheme when he recruited Molk.
Not sayin he won't be successful, just sayin.
|3 years 28 weeks ago||When the students are||
on break, there's a group called the "Blue Rage" that fills out the student section. I think for the PSU game there were a couple rows of students, the rest were us old timers. There definitely wasn't a ton of energy in the group for that game, but I'm sure Saturday will be a different story. I'll be doing my part
And yes, if Michigan has it wrapped up there WILL be a raucous NIT chant going on!
|3 years 29 weeks ago||What a bunch of||
whiny b*tches. I can't read this crap anymore, brian included
|4 years 9 weeks ago||.||
|4 years 16 weeks ago||That's funny||
You kind of sound like a bitch.
|4 years 27 weeks ago||I don't blame you||
for wanting more, and there are some things that could be worked on, but I guess I'm at the point where I don't see anything positive coming from this team. More games = more frustration. I don't usually have that kind of a negative attitude, but it's been a tough year.
|4 years 27 weeks ago||Getting extra practices||
with a 80 man roster means more than practices with a 15 man roster. The reason those extra practices are so valuable in football is because you can take a closer look and give more reps to the youngsters who might have been overlooked in the regular season. It's not the same with basketball. This season just needs to be over anyway.
|4 years 29 weeks ago||Right, It's a suburb of Toledo||
And if you're familiar with MAC football, the same high school that Eric Paige (freshman WR from UT) attended.
