Take the job, coach. You've already got experience beating Illinois but losing to Wisconsin. You'll fit right in.

What's MSU's best quality win right now? Not trying to be snarky as I don't follow basketball that closely. Seems like Michigan, for all the problems we've had so far this season, does at least have some wins over decent teams. Not so sure about State.

Reminds me of a joke:
Two guys charter an expensive fishing trip. They buy all new gear, and pay for a private aircraft to take them to a cabin at a remote canadian lake. They stay there for a week, but only catch three fish the whole time.
On the way back, one guy says to the other "I did the math, and those fish cost us $2,000 each!"
"Well, " says the other guy, "Good thing we didn't catch any more!"

From what I've read in player interviews, the guys appreciate the intensity with which the coach supports them during the game, and that includes him going nuts when he sees a call he doesn't like. That's something recruits will notice as well.
Much better to have a coach who supports his players and flips out at the refs than one who flips out at his players (Brian Kelly) or one who passively allows his players to get pushed around without reacting (Brady Hoke).

Honestly you've got to admire their dedication.
I hope they got the updated finish right. Can you imagine the confusion if JT Barrett stepped up under center and found himself staring down a pack of Matte winged helmets instead of the Gloss ones he practiced against?

Where's the proposal to ban head football coachs from operating the down marker at a high school football game played more than 50 miles from coach's home campus? I'm sure that one's coming.

I love split divisions. It's awesome how we get to play Rutgers every year, and Wisconsin once per coaching change (or less!). And it's awesome how, if I want to invite my friend from Purdue to a game at the big house, I have to wait to see if they're maybe on the 2020 schedule.
WE HAVE NOT PLAYED PURDUE AT HOME SINCE 2011 DO THEY STILL HAVE THE GIANT DRUM I DON'T EVEN KNOW ANYMORE.
Granted this is as much about expanding to 14 teams as it is about split divisions, but still.

Time to play Guess What OP Was Drinking When He Posted This Thread.
It's only thursday, but I don't judge. Had a Atwater Brewery Tunnel Ram myself. I'm not sure what a tunnel ram is exactly, but it's a good beer.

Last year State was vulnerable to the deep ball. Every team they beat was either not smart enough or skilled enough to exploit that. Unfortunately we played them before Rudock really got locked in. If we had played them just a few weeks later, I really do think we would have won comfortably. Oh well.
This year they're vulnerable to the everything. It should go better.

Twitter commentators seem to think it's a shoe box. So... new shoes. I do not follow the ins and out of nike shoes enough to understand the potential ramifications there, but I'd say it falls outside the domain of UNIFORMZ.

There is no statistical, factual, or otherwise logic-based reason to suspect MSU has any chance of winning on Saturday. That's why, if it happens, I'm going to burn the world. Just... all of it.

They miss the point on that challenge in the 4th quarter.
Lost the challenge, had to go for it on fourth down, got it, and... knelt out the rest of the game.
It's not about running up the score. It's about treating every snap of every game with the same intensity, whether you're down by four or up by fifty. You're not going to cheat Harbaugh's players out of two yards on his watch, regardless of the score.

Meh (//) is an interjection used as an expression of indifference or boredom. It may also mean "be it as it may". It is often regarded as a verbal shrug of the shoulders. The use of the term "meh" shows that the speaker is apathetic, uninterested, or indifferent to the question or subject at hand. It is occasionally used as an adjective, meaning something is mediocre or unremarkable.
-Wikipedia article on "Meh"
So in the first published announcement (at least on this here popular and influential blog) that Mr. Paye is committing four years of his life to our school and our team, you labelled him mediocre. You expressed indifference. Both are an insult. Recruits read these boards. Recruits parents read these boards. We represent the fanbase. Every school has its jackass fans. Don't be one of them.

Go look up the advanced defensive statistics. Whoever's you prefer. Check to see who's #1. #1 in all categories, sometimes by a ridiculous margin.
Now go ponder your poor life choices, like insulting a kid who wants to do his best to make your favorite football team better.

A Spartan fan invited you to the game between his team, which is a three touchdown underdog, and yours, his most hated rival?
Be careful. I've heard this story before, and it ends up with you waking up in a bathtub full of ice missing your kidneys.

What jackhole is still voting us #8? Scott Frost, is that you?
And at least one voter has Nebraska unranked. I mean, really.
Aaaand... Ohio State still has a #2 vote. I'm going to assume that guy turned in his ballot sometime before 11:30pm last night.

With the East composed of a couple national powerhouses, a couple basement dwellers, and the rest in between, it becomes really important in West who has what crossover games.
Wisconsin had to play MSU, OSU, and us. Nebraska only has to play OSU. It doesn't seem so bad because MSU is imploding, but imagine if they were still a top 15 team like they've been recently.

Jokes aside, I believe the only way to diagnose CTE at this point is based on an autopsy. So these are for the most part not recent players. The names on the list I recognized are guys that played in the 50s, 60s, 70s, that time frame.
Perhaps the changes to concussion protocols, helmet designs, and tackling techniques will make a difference, but at this point it's probably too soon to tell.

It's been fun watching the offense smash down the field swapping running backs sometimes every single play. I wonder how the guys feel about sharing carries that evenly.

Anyone know why Peppers wanted to switch hats with Chesson? My guess is that he knew he would be doing a post-game interview and decided the white hat was better post-game interview attire, for whatever reason.
