So after all the no M thing they forgot they actually do need some "O"...
|3 weeks 2 days ago||Diapers...||
Still better than coolers...
|3 weeks 2 days ago||Clearly a mistake||
They forgot to remove all the 3's as well...
|4 weeks 4 days ago||It's not a loop hole||
They are playing off human tendencies. It's the same reason in basketball some teams seem to hand check ALL THE TIME and rarely get called because they do it all the time. So, yeah, not really a loop as much as it is just realizing that humans are officials and are subject to that. If the refs actually did what was exactly in the book Seattle probably would have lost the first 3-4 games of the season just because of the 15+ PIs that would have been called as they slowly adjust to playing to the rules rather than playing to the officials.

I'd be embarrassed and hope that Hoke wouldn't let him talk to the press until he graduated.

... until the Sherman rant.

For the death of the carriage return.
You can still hit return on the iphone and it will put in a return so I'm not really sure why posting from a phone makes a difference.
As for the post - eh, he's an NFL football player, I've long since stopped expecting them to act like normal people.
|6 weeks 4 days ago||"Century Link Field"...||
Guh... I know they want naming rights and all that but, damn, I really wish it was just "Seahawks Stadium/field" or maybe even "the Stadium at Seattle" (a la "Ballpark at Arlington"). Maybe it's just the college fan in me but damn if I don't hate naming stadiums and arenas after corporations.

... never ending paragraph Batman!
|7 weeks 1 day ago||And we all lose...||
Athletes make progressively more, owners make progressively more and it's all offset by higher ticket prices. More and more the NFL is pricing average people out (I live in Dallas so it's always sold out and always expensive, maybe it's different in Detroit?). I've been to exactly 1 Cowboys game and that was a pre-season "game" and the tickets were free. I've actually been to more UM events at Jerry World ('Bama in football and Florida in basketball) than I have Cowboys games.
Same thing goes for baseball - I've got a friend who works for them and I can get half price tickets anytime I want and when you combine the parking and all of that it's still more expensive than going out for a really nice dinner.
|7 weeks 1 day ago||I'll be that guy...||
... And say that no professional athlete is *worth* that kind of money. Kind of depressing to think about how much these guys are getting paid to play a sport who's entire point to get people like us to spend money to watch them.
|7 weeks 2 days ago||Damn||
I was really hoping to steal one on Saturday but now I'm sure wiscy's motivation will be sky high...
|7 weeks 3 days ago||Valuation Data||
The MLive article is dated 1/8/14 but the link they have to the Wall Street Journal is dated as last updated 1/7/13. Not sure who made the mistake but reading through the WS Journal article it seems like they are talking about last year ('Bama vs ND for the championship) not this year.
|8 weeks 4 hours ago||Basketball is much more variable||
In football if you play dead-nuts defense their offense won't go off - in basketball you can play great D but if a guy is dropping them in from 30 feet it doesn't matter (just as Kansas...).
There's a reason you see more absurd upsets in basketball than football so the corrolary to that is even on the road the football team shouldn't need a miracle to beat a team that has lost 4 in a row (the basketball equivalent would be 8-10 losses in a row) whereas winning on the road against a team that hadn't lost at home means a lot more than escaping against a team that had been tanking for a month.
I'd also say that home "field" advantage in basketball is noticeably greater than in football - maybe not in points but in terms of the actual chances of winning.

8th graders are SMRT!!
|8 weeks 2 days ago||Technically...||
There is no such thing as "reverse racism", racism is racism regardless of the race of the impacted party.
|8 weeks 2 days ago||So...||
You've made the conclusion there is a race element because...? Right, there is absolutely no evidence at all but since he's an old white guy who doesn't like a younger black man the only logical conclusion is it's a race thing. Good grief...
|8 weeks 4 days ago||Amen!||
I just don't understand why the powers that be are so stupid - they do it with both Football and Basketball. College sports make their hay on Saturday. It's College Football Saturday not CFB Monday. Thankfully the NFL has become a little smarter and moved the Super Bowl start time up.
I don't even know if I'll bother watching at all - I mean, I don't really care to watch the first half of a game I know I won't get to finish on top of the even more than usual commercials I think I'll just watch some TV shows I have on the DVR.
P.S. I'm glad to see you're getting up votes - I've been making this same argument to my friends and they keep saying I'm the only person who has a problem with it being on a Monday.
|9 weeks 1 day ago||Oh||
Well, ok :)
|9 weeks 1 day ago||Seriously??||
You mean the guy who rather than do what is legally required of all state employees and report the abuse to the police he just passed the buck on to the next guy? Yeah, he's a piece of work and doesn't deserve to have any job associated with kids - maybe give him a job as a police officer at Fort Leavenworth or something.
|9 weeks 4 days ago||Took me a min...||
Then I realized that, holy shit, unless a Big 12 team makes the championship game there are going to be two teams who play 15 games! I'd LOVE to get to watch 15 UM games next season.
|11 weeks 1 day ago||Let's also not forget...||
... what happened that last time we played UF at Jerry World! :)
|11 weeks 1 day ago||Well, hey||
At least it's not like last time where we played a team that's only an 8 hours drive away! (It's about 14 hours).
And, not so secretly, I love being able to see Michigan play in my backyard as they'll never be awful enough to play in the Heart of Dallas Bowl and even if they were I'm not sure I'd want to watch that team...
|12 weeks 2 days ago||Never thought I'd see the day...||
... when a kid from my HS conference (and bitter rival actually) would make the front page of MGoBlog (or even be a sought after recruit). Of course I do have to say that Jackson's fight song is same as the Buckeyes and they also wear red - boo!!!
Go Blue! (which is also what my HS was - Gallipolis).
|14 weeks 3 days ago||Yes, seriously||
How in the world did a scarlet and grey ANYTHING make it on t he front page? You should even change that top picture to black and white so it's not scarlet and grey. I know 95% of the blog has already declared defeat but come on man...
|16 weeks 1 day ago||Personal experience||
I saw a 7th grader knocked out with a concussion so I'd have to say it's just as serious.
|16 weeks 1 day ago||I'll say this...||
I have an 8 month old and the only football he's going to be playing is as a kicker. I played football as early as possible up until 9th grade and I love football but it's just not worth it... You can say whatever you want about the hysteria but it's always been common sense that running into another person at full speed and, possibly, head first isn't a good idea. We, as a culture, just ignored it but now the science is finally starting to show up.
