To be fair, that comes across harsher written down than it did when it was spoken.
|1 week 1 day ago||I tweeted about who was||
I tweeted about who was suspended but didn't say that Harbaugh walked out because by the time I looked down at my timeline every other beat writer had already done so. I knew how I wanted to cover him walking out, and it was using the MGoStreamOfConsciousness.
A lot of times I don't tweet things when I see the same info eight or nine times in a row on my TL because I assume you guys follow other beat reporters as well and I don't want to clog it up with the exact same stuff. I try to stick to quotes I find funny or really big pieces of information. Now I'm curious: do you guys follow almost all the people who cover the Michigan beat, a select few, or just MGoBloggers?

Thanks! Might have to break this out again in the future.
|2 weeks 2 days ago||The way they described it to||
The way they described it to us last season it seemed like they split the field in half, with Zordich taking one side and Jackson taking the other (I don't remember who was took the left and who took the right, or if they ever said). It sounds like this year they're going to work together a bit more.

Thanks! Here's a bit more on trap coverage: https://footballfilmroom.com/2-trap-defense/

You're right in that he hasn't said "national." I'm reading between the lines here and assuming that's what he means when he talks about setting goals that are so lofty others would laugh and then talks about winning championships in a very parade-like environment.
It's certainly fair to think about pumping the brakes, and I get where you're coming from. At the same time, most of those smaller goals take care of themselves if you succeed in achieving your loftiest goal.

Hey! I was. I meant to go over and talk to you, and every time I tried I either got pulled away or you were talking to someone and I didn't want to interrupt. We'll have to connect soon.
|8 weeks 2 days ago||Exactly. There wasn't anyone||
Exactly. There wasn't anyone in the recruiting class expected to go in the first round, then all of Michigan's commits fell in the NHL Central Scouting rankings as the year went on, so this was always going to be a class that filled in the roster without putting guys on the top line in year one. Getting LaFontaine was a big recruiting win and I think we're seeing expectations for him rise quickly.
The other major thing worth noting is that defenseman Luke Martin is a member of the incoming freshmen class and he's expected to be a first-round pick in next year's draft. Chris Dilks published his 2017 rankings this morning and has Martin 28th.

I went with Woodson for levity but I do like your last paragraph. With Harbaugh, I'd never put the odds of something not happening at 100% and the explanation you gave is precisely why.

Yeah, that crossed my mind as well. I just figured time heals all wounds (but mostly I didn't have a strong backup contender).

The assumption was that it was a really crafty and intentional move and yeah, that's basically what it was.
|19 weeks 1 day ago||He was talking about the Red||
He was talking about the Red Army teams, but I think you're right about Bowman and how he would treat the CCM line. They were responsible enough defensively in their own zone that they'd be given a longer leash to create and experiment.

I had no idea what you were referring to, but a quick Google search later I learned I was very unaware of a very popular thing. Maybe I should add "HC" before the rest of the title.

I'd be surprised if it isn't Nagelvoort; I thought he played pretty well this season. They do have Jack LaFontaine coming in, and he's a pretty highly touted draft-eligible prospect.
|21 weeks 6 days ago||They're keeping draft-related||
They're keeping draft-related stuff in house. Rosters will be released the day after it takes place, which I think is actually today.
|23 weeks 1 day ago||Secondary scoring from the||
Exactly. Secondary scoring from the bottom-six forwards opens up the flood gates on these glorious weekends, and Michigan's bottom six are probably the most talented in the conference.

I will not rest until you're a real hockey fan. I mean, I have a 1.5 year old and my wife's out of town for work so I already don't rest much, but you get the point.

Thanks, really appreciate the kind words. I love doing these. (And with all the goals, I've never had problems meeting my hrs/week quota.)
|23 weeks 1 day ago||Thanks for the insight, guys.||
Thanks for the insight, guys. I appreciate it. Now that you mention it, I've seen Motte do this often. I always thought it was a read-and-react thing where he'd hedge when he thought he had a chance, but to hear it's coached to generate SH opportunities makes sense.

James Light is great. His write-up is about the keynote they did on the main stage. This took place after and was only open to media, but you can see from some of the lines of questioning that the two are interrelated.

Thanks! And I agree with you about the one-game playoff scenario. This is the first year I've actually looked forward to that setup.

Fruits and vegetables help diminish the effects of lead exposure in kids, yet it can be incredibly hard for kids in Flint to get them; there's no grocery store inside the city limits. Vincent's project partnered with two great organizations and is helping get a much needed resource in the hands of those who need it most. I can't wait to help him this spring and summer.
