|1 day 6 hours ago||7 out of 8?||
Losses in Spartan's next 8 games?
|2 days 23 hours ago||Which is why||
I said balance sheet.
|3 days 1 hour ago||And without Michigan||
Burke goes to Penn State, with or without a degree by now and never an NBA lottery pick. He came out of the situation pretty damn well but apparently they didn't cover balance sheets either.
|4 days 2 hours ago||Based on comments by||
both it seems Speight deserves most of the credit for isolating things to work on.

any consideration for circumstances is all that's required for vindication? Hoke's record at Michigan was 31-20, with 3 Bowl appearances and two second place conerence finishes. He built a defense that had been neglected for years. Rodriguez' record was 15-22, with 1 bowl appearances and his conference record was never better than Hoke's worse year. It's not clear at all that "he just couldn't coach."

liking Simpson a lot more.
|1 week 1 day ago||So they weren't elite until||
they matured physically and mentally?
|1 week 1 day ago||As he showed with||
Stauskas and would have with Caris if not for injury, JB can work his offense through another position. This will be the first in several seasons that he won't have an alternative.
|1 week 3 days ago||My conclusion||
a while back, after talking to some of his GVSU former players, is that Kelly doesn't inspire a lot of affection from his players.
|1 week 5 days ago||In the past two seasons||
they have coped with early departures and injuries to Walton, Irvin, Caris and Spike. Having two of them healthy along with a credible backup PG that will allow Beilein to use Walton more effectively will improve the team. Wagner, who hadn't played a minute of US basketball when he joined the Wolverines, will make them better at the 5 than they have been in 2 years. Robinson will be better for his experience. He will get his shots out of a better functioning offense that never adjusted to Caris' absence last season. Add an improved defense, not a lock down but improved defense, along with Beilein's smarts and it's not a rationalization to expect this team to be better. If Ibi and DJ can provide credible minutes off the bench prospects for the season are even brighter.
|1 week 6 days ago||Nice write up. I hope||
Donlon's enthusiasm helps with recruiting. He seems to recognize Michigan's strengths under JB better than many fans.
|2 weeks 6 hours ago||JB is not||
JH and Michigan basketball is not and never has been Michigan football.
|2 weeks 6 hours ago||Simpson will||
get more minutes. Beilein has already talked about finding ways to get him on the court.
|2 weeks 1 day ago||The detractors,||
in my opinion, don't seem to recognize the changes Beilein has made. The man is considered one of the brightest minds in the game when it comes to offense. Donlon talked about how many NBA coaches come through AA to talk offense with him. Maybe when some of those big time recruits hear what Durant said about the Warrior's offense or Westbrook said about European ball they'll appreciate what Beilein can do for their game.
|2 weeks 1 day ago||I have never had a||
good game experience in East Lansing. Unless you're in a Michigan block of seats it's uncomfortable to react to any favorable Michigan play. There has always been at least one ass, if not more, who wanted to take it up with us. I see a bad combination of conditions this year. Their fans are angry and despondent and Michigan is back. It's not worth it to me, plus I hate their stadium.
|2 weeks 2 days ago||Along the way||
I've come to realize nobody can take my Michigan degree away from me. Losses don't sting as they once did.
|2 weeks 3 days ago||Rudock had what,||
25 games of experience when he came to Ann Arbor? Speight is doing a damn good job in my view.
|2 weeks 6 days ago||Maybe the||
commissioner was playing a game to stoke up the anti-Patriot flames and drive ratings. I wouldn't participate in that BS in a league that did their best to overlook the Rice incident (to name one) either. I hope the NFL ratings continue to head south.

|3 weeks 1 day ago||Where was this||
team projected to win 90+ games?
|3 weeks 1 day ago||Ausmus spent||
what 4, 5, 6 weeks after the All Star break with 1 guy of the 5 pegged as the starting rotation coming out Lakeland. The fact he had them competing for a playoff spot until the final series of the season is pretty damn impressive.
Fix the bullpen, something the Tigers haven't managed to do for years, and they are in the playoffs.
|3 weeks 1 day ago||I'm optimistic||
too. This is Irvin and Walton's year, the first year they are not deferring to others. Wagner showed his talent toward the end of last season, his first playing US style basketball. And I look for Robinson to take a huge step. His smarts and increased strength/endurance will pay dividends. Add Simpson and Wilson and more focus on defense..
|3 weeks 2 days ago||No kidding.||
The Speight critiques have been nearly unbearable and likely from many who couldn't make the read in 3-5 minutes let alone seconds.
|3 weeks 2 days ago||Are you kidding? There will be||
incompletions, near interceptions, slow reads and mobility issues to define his season.
|3 weeks 3 days ago||It looked to me||
as if he put it right where it needed to be.
|3 weeks 3 days ago||Ausmus has done||
a nice job with the young starters, the decision to sit Upton a few days paid major dividends and I never felt that his team was giving less than 100%. He was victimized by the bullpen, which has been an ongoing problem for the Tigers and injuries, with no position organizational depth. I mean think about it, they finished the year with one starter that was penciled in when the season began.
|3 weeks 4 days ago||Speight mentioned||
that on the TD that it was a play he was comfortable with. Can't help but wonder if that means he's not as comfortable with the reads other plays require. I would guess that has to be the case due to his lack of experience. Add unreliable protection and a decent defense and it's hard to be critical of Speight.
