I'm surprised Thee Ohio didn't push for at least a 3:30 start. After a big splash v. Sparty, they'll finish with three games with unimpressive opponents at noon. West coast viewers will still be in their PJ's. Good luck improving on playoff status in virtual anonymity.

Dantonio's sooooo sensitive - Michigan is too arrogant, too disrespectful, called us "little brother", planted a tent stake in our field. He spends so much god damn time exploring his feelings about Michigan. I can't wait to see this guy fall flat on his face and start losing again. He's only one season removed from a 7-6 campaign. State was patient with him because fan expectations are historically so low. That touchdown at the end of game meant nothing, will just give the next Michigan staff something to talk about in Ann Arbor next fall. God, he's just such a baby.
|4 weeks 4 days ago||Business||
I'm not blaming these kids for making a decision now to leave, but it's still a decision they should be held to. Business decisions go well and they go poorly. Theoretically, hypothetically, what if, etc. they were to hire Jim Harbaugh, who has a track record of winning and would likely bring this program back quickly. It may cause kids who had the dream of attending Michigan, at some point, to reconsider. I would hope any new staff would tell them to keep looking elsewhere.
|4 weeks 4 days ago||Door closed||
So, if Michigan does make a home run hire, should the new coach accept re-"commitments" from these kids? Also, we should all stop calling them "commits". They aren't committing to anything.
|4 weeks 4 days ago||Interim||
Just a thought, probably thought before below, but why not fire Hoke now and name Nuss interim coach? What is there to lose? Nuss gets a short tryout and the spotlight on the program dulls a bit. If he goes 4-0, he's considered as a candidate. If he goes 0-4, was he really ours to begin with?

Kelly may have been Michigan's Tressel. Now in year 7. Big missed opportunity.

Are there pointless questions? Kelly was at UC when Rich Rod was hired. Previous experience was at GVSU and CMU. Seems like a candidate at the time. No?

I think the official depth chart lists Green as starting RB?

We've been to the past 2 games in the Shoe and are planning to go again this year. As someone else already said, you'll have the most issues outside the stadium before/after the game. The 2011 game seemed toned down, likely due to Michigan winning the previous game in AA and some trepidation about losing consecutive games. Once you're in the stadium, you may be surprised with relatively cordial treatment from fans. Relatively cordial.
We live down here and deal with these folks year round. When wearing Michigan gear around town, everyone has to say something. Most of the time it's pretty benign, sometimes it's not. I think it's worth experiencing at least one Michigan game in Columbus. There's a lot of good cameraderie amonst the Michigan fans and, if you resist the urge to escalate bad treatment, you'll have fun.

If you can join without a Michigan degree, I'll cancel my membership tomorrow. This is gross.
|30 weeks 1 day ago||Bad||
Wasn't this program better when we filled out a form with preferences, either mailed or submitted online, and got the outcome a few weeks later? I never missed on Ohio tickets. I didn't even bother logging in this morning, will take my chances on StubHub.
|30 weeks 1 day ago||On to the next one...||
Phew! That's a relief. Let's start looking forward to 2015.
|32 weeks 9 hours ago||Scheduling||
This is all about the schedule. Dave Brandon should have fought to keep either Ohio or Sparty on the schedule every year. This season should have included ND and Sparty at home. Instead, we get Utah and Maryland. Tickets have lost value, why would students want to buy them? StubHub will be jammed with cheap tickets to every home game. That's how I'll buy my tickets this season.
|32 weeks 4 days ago||Good Luck!||
Of course, I wish GRIII the best of luck in his pro career. At the same time, the kid just doesn't look like an NBA player yet. I don't understand what is making these kids declare early, only to risk a second round draft position or no draft position. Sure, money's good but it's good for such a short time. I know, been discussed to death already. I just don't get it, at all.

This has probably been beaten to death, but why not James Young to Michigan?

We watched the 2005 UM v. PSU game at the Great Canadian Pub. If the games are on anywhere, they should be on there. Great location, right on the Seine in central Paris.
|38 weeks 6 days ago||OH SOS||
I don't understand how Ohio is considered to have a comparable SOS to Michigan. One ranking I saw had Ohio 53 and M 70. Their toughest non-con games were probably Maryland, Marquette, and Wyoming? How can that be tougher than AZ, Duke, FSU, Iowa St, and Stanford? Does outcome factor into SOS?
|41 weeks 3 days ago||Nope||
They love the Value City Furniture. And, they love large retail holding companies. Have you seen their football stadium? Been to a game there? They have a sponsor for "Hang on Sloopy" for gosh sakes. Has a real Times Square feel.

Gosh damn. I thought this would be an informative post about beer, not a plea for help saving coin. What's good? Spring beers?
|41 weeks 5 days ago||Downtown||
Yeah, I'd stay downtown. Not much around campus - hotels or decent joints for food. Great places to eat downtown, and in Short North area. If you can swing the Blackwell, it's nice, but may be full this late in the game. I haven't had too much trouble with BBall games down here. They don't really care much, unless the team's in the hunt for a national championship, which, clearly... There was one game a few years ago, with my wife and two very young kids, when an old man put his finger in my face and chanted "just like football". Over, and over. Restraint, my friends. I'm debating going this year, hate the late tip.
