Top program in college football = early playing time for 4-star from Michigan? I wish I could close like Nick Saban.

If true, Urbz would have tripped on himself to offer. Need or not, he'd bury him. Like Weber.

Thanks God! The folks down here complain about Mark May SO MUCH! They effectively ran Herbie out of town as well. I'm sure it won't take long for them to be pissed off about something the new crew says or does. Sooooooooo sensitive. So sensitive.

Pop is a sound. My favorite soda is Coca Cola, mixed with bourbon.

I've suggested to a few buckeye friends, that, if the two Big 12 teams had been Oklahoma and Texas instead of Baylor and TCU, I doubt OSU would have jumped both to get in. There was no question that Alabama v. OSU, Saban v. Meyer, was a better storyline and more attractive to sponsors than Alabama v. Bayor or TCU. Unfortunately, it will always be this way. Fortunately, Michigan is a big brand too, and Harbaugh's a big figure in coaching.

That was supposed to be a sarcastic "undisputed one". I think it's amazing that adding 2 teams to the playoffs make a championship undisputed, especially when the 4 seed wins it. So, relax. We good.

You have to keep in mind that the dynamics in Ohio are very different. There is one major college football program without other major sports (successful ones) in central Ohio. Tickets to regular season games are impossible to get except by secondary market, and are very expensive at that point. Every game is this way, even against the soup cans they schedule every year. I talk to a lot of folks who take their kids to this game because they can't afford to take them to a regular season game. This will be even more exaggerated after a national championship (an undisputed one). No question, the number is impressive, but there are good reasons for it.

Weber was a defensive recruit. Poor kid. Urbz just being Urbz, collecting spare parts.

The NIT clearly isn't concerned with ratings and caish. This is a tourney for the grittiest, small conference teams. Good for them. Zzzzzzzzzz.
|16 weeks 2 days ago||Status Quo||
I don't, at all, like the idea of squeezing Walton back into the lineup after a lengthy time away. This team is rolling as much as it has all season, probably a lot more. Spike is a great point guard, not serviceable, but great. He has done more than much higer rated players and should be a starter until he's out of eligibility.

Little Brother loses games with depleted squads and steals late in the game.

OSU sings their alma mater at the end of every home game. I think the do it on the road as well. A bit of authentic tradition amongst an ocean of sponsored bits and advertisements. If you haven't been, that stadium is consumerism at it's best. Has a real NFL/Vegas feel to it.

I hate to compare Michigan to anything done in Ohio because, obviously. But, is there any room to incorporate songs from the current songbook into the game day experience? I agree, that any addition should be organic and authentic. So, what about making 'Varsity' or 'Yellow and Blue' better known and more commonly used? Specifically, why not have the team sing 'Yellow and Blue' after every home game? New tradition? Yes, if that's really a thing, but Michigan should be around for a while and it may settle in nicely after 10-15 years.

Common Man and Company on 97.1, Columbus. Belly of the beast. Truly awful radio.
|20 weeks 4 days ago||Haters||
Local radio was bagging on JH today, likened him to a super hot girl who's crazy as shit. Went on to say they thought he was "drunk" for his intro presser. I really don't remember them talking so much about M football, in February. Good sign.
|20 weeks 4 days ago||ANGAR||
They're talking about M t-shirt on 97.1 in Cbus. Pissed. Tough road for him ahead, especially the first time he fumbles.

Dude, Mike Weber has no idea what kind of snake pit he's about to walk into down here. This story has been on the local news daily since it was first reported. People (college kids, grown men, old ladies) are following this story and paying attention to this kid. He's an OSU signee wearing Michigan gear? They won't even say the name of the state down here. Unfortunately, kid's got a lot of rough days ahead of him.
|20 weeks 6 days ago||Keep it Going||
The longer Urbz is in negative light, the better for Michigan recruiting in Detroit. Meanwhile, in Cbus, sports writer is advocating for Weber to be released from his LOI.
|21 weeks 1 day ago||Mad||
Thomas Wilcher was just interviewed on 105.1. He's pissed at Urbz. Mike Weber and his family are pissed at Urbz. They're replaying the interview at 2. Hopefully, it goes national.
|21 weeks 1 day ago||Credibility||
Gosh, I hope this story keeps growing and growing. Weber ain't coming back to MIchigan, and that's fine. But it'd be great for this story to catch on nationally, a la the stories from UCLA and Louisville, and plant that old Urban Liar seed in the minds of recruits and coaches. At a minimum, this should affect his recent momentum in Detroit and at Cass Tech.
|21 weeks 1 day ago||Devil on Shoulder||
I think the Higdon excuse was just an excuse, but I think it was planted by Stan and Urbz shortly after Higdon committed. Something like "Hey Mike, didn't that rat Harbaugh tell you you were the man? You can trust us here, you're the man here, we'd never mislead you like that". Exit Stan, Weber is ANGAR.
|21 weeks 1 day ago||Discovery Period||
Why not add a 10-day period after signing the LOI in which kids can "opt-out" of the contract if one of a list of specific events occur (coach leaving, etc)? This would put more pressure on coaches and teams to keep their promises and give kids an out if they don't. Maybe similar to the NBA's early entry policy? In this case, Weber sees the real situation and has an opportunity to "right the wrong". It'd be nice if coaches would just be honest with 17/18 year old kids and their families (Urbz), but that seems to be a relic at this point.
|21 weeks 2 days ago||Uncle Urbz||
I have a bad feeling there'll be more tweets like this to come. Poor kid. If anything, this will reveal OSU's true colors to the HS coaches in Detroit, especially Cass Tech.
|21 weeks 2 days ago||Urbz||
I think, the point is that Urban has a habit of recruting players "defensively". In other words, he latches onto kids being recruited by Michigan to prevent them from signing with Michigan. I don't know the history of these three kids, or of Chad Lindsay, or Mike Weber, specifically, whether they were recruited by OSU before Michigan noticed them. In the end, if they don't work out, it's a firm handshake, "thanks for your service", and you're injured/headed to an FCS team. Maybe this is part of why he wore out his welcome at Florida, er, developed a health issue.
Edit: This was meant to be a reply to back and forth between Magnus and Sweet Hawaiian - all 3 players were recruited by Michigan.
