Have a Jaguar XK convertible. This is my third convertible. I had Mustang Conv, and 911 Conv. Jaguar is easily the prettiest and most pleasurable convertible so far and is my daily driver even here in rainy NW.
Summer weather here is gorgeous and nothing enhances it more than driving with the top down.
PS. There isn't a better sound than my car growling with the top down.

If we are going to compare different sports, you might as well bring up how great our recruiting is in softball, gymnastics, and swimming!
There is a lot of money in AAU basketball. There is a lot of money in NCAA basketball recruiting. To deny that fact is to deny that there is oxygen in air.
Sure, there are exceptions to that rule every now and then. But they are rare enough that Beilein does not waste his effort on it unless there is initial interest from the player. And getting a random one-and-done player does not help programs much. You have to recruit 4 or 5 EVERY YEAR for that system to work. If you think you can do that without being dirty, then be my guest.
Beilein is a GREAT coach. He has established what works for him over decades. I am perfectly happy to let him do his thing and proudly represent this great institution.

We have our share of top 100 guys. You will not be involved in too many top 25 guys without getting dirty. I am happy that we stay away from that mess.
Fielding a team with one-and-done's is not easy. Just look at Washington, a slew of lottery picks with not even NCAA tourney berths (or MSU with the best one-and-done player in the league). I like where we are.

Put me in the never camp.
John Beilein is probably one of the best coach Michigan has hired in any sport. The idiot fans are fickle and want coaches fired after practically every loss, and I pay no attention to them.
Michigan is lucky to have such a fine gentleman represent ther school.

More than happy with the current level of winning when it is done clean. People around here don't realize how good we have it.

Not only that, Beilein has been the at the front of the "modern basketball" movement where the emphasis is on 3 point shots and layups and elimination of mid-range jumpers with shooters everywhere. This is where all the NBA teams are going now with 7 foot plodding centers becoming a rare breed.
Why would we rely on data that looks back to irrelevant era with completely different playing style?
|2 weeks 5 days ago||I am usually the first and||
I am usually the first and harshest to call for self reflection on various topics (including the late commit drops last year), but this is all BS. I trust Harbaugh's ethics over practically every coach in NCAA, in any sport. The man clearly cares about his kids and his university's reputation.
The willingness to push NCAA boundaries in the area where they are at there most ridiculous is something I consider a virtue.
It is funny how NCAA is so quick to react to "stop" Harbaugh when it serves SEC, but I doubt very much they will do anything to limit Harbaugh here.

Meh, reversion to the mean is a much simpler explanation and probably the right one.
|3 weeks 2 days ago||My problem with 4K is||
My problem with 4K is this.
1. Broadcasters are not going to start broadcasting in 4K anytime soon. They have to buy all new cameras. Not too hard with movie-based projects since they needed to move from film based cameras anyway, but broadcasters would have to replace cameras/transmitters that they bought within the last decade.
2. This makes streaming companies very important. Except you do not get very good ROI in quality for the bandwidth required. Most are going to compress the hell out of the 4k video to fit it into the existing infrastructure. It is going to look like crap just like how broadcast content looks like crap on DirecTV, cable, and even OTA (when they split channels).
3. We would have better quality streaming video if they used the same bandwidth for 4K video to stream 1080P at higher quality bit-rate. But that is never going to happen now that 4K is just another checkbox to check.
4K is going to hurt the overall quality of stream feeds. We are exchanging quality for pixel count.
|3 weeks 2 days ago||The problem is that 4k has||
The problem is that 4k has HEAVY toll on bandwidth. And to fit all that content into the tiny pipe, they will compress the hell out of the video. You will end up with images that are higher in pixel count, but lower in quality.
|3 weeks 2 days ago||They also broadcasted select||
They also broadcasted select sporting events in 3D a few years ago. Does not change the fact that they were gimmicks.
|3 weeks 2 days ago||I am EXTREMELY familiar with||
I am EXTREMELY familiar with PC hardware and video graphic hardware, specifically.
What is passing as "4k" is just upconverted video from lower resolution renders. It is basically the same picture you would get if you fed 720P picture to your 4k TV and it upconverted it.
Affordable video cards (<$250) that can do 4K gaming comfortably is probably another 2 to 3 years away, at least. Any console that debuts within that time will have the same problem that plagued Xbox One (not quite enough oomph for 1080P gaming).
|3 weeks 2 days ago||That is part of the problem.||
That is part of the problem. It would be better to have 1080P video at the same rate that they are transmitting 4K compressed content.
From a typical size TV size/distance combination, less compression at higher throughput rate would result in better picture quality.

Never lost faith. Figured early loses were due to extremely high opponent 3pt FG rate. It reverted to mean and that basically made our defense average, and allowed us to win.
I am more surprised by how efficient our offense is.
|3 weeks 2 days ago||I am not saying you should||
I am not saying you should not get a new TV right now. I was going to buy one very recently. But the reason should be because of HDR, not 4K. 4K is a gimmick because if you are buying the TV to watch TV programs (which what most of us do), 4K content is not coming any time soon (decades, probably). Broadcasters are still paying off the cost of moving to 720P/1080i, they are not about to spend that kind of money again.
The real reason to get a new TV right now is because of HDR support. This means blacker blacks and brighter whites. This is what REALLY makes the images pop on your screen.
If you focus on 4K instead of HDR, you may get a TV that is 4K, but not HDR, and you will be disappointed in the future. Make sure you get HDR enabled set, 4k is just a bonus.

Ask any scientist and they will tell you that evolution has just as much scientific backing as the claim that earth is round.
The flat earthers are using the EXACT same tactics that Creationists use to attack evolution. Any difference among them is pure aesthetics.
