So... is there anything stopping me from hiring Hurst to drive me around A2 for an hour then tip him 3X?

My daughter is 2 years away from driving and I plan to get Nissan Leaf for her. I like it since it should be reliable (electric motors are dead simple) and limited range is a feature, not a detriment in this case.

When you think Baylor fans cannot sink any lower, they prove you wrong once again...
Look at this winner on Baylor Fan's site on this topic:

That's it. No one else owes her anything IMO.
And they are talking about a girl who got dragged away by the football player and raped.
Football fans are the worst...

Actually, that is a local rule that the committee adopted based on the situation.
Let's say the video showed conclusively that DJ caused the ball to move and lied about it to the official. If that was the case, the rules committee would have certainly assessed two stroke penalty for not replacing the ball. They took a pity on him, but they didn't have to.
|5 weeks 28 min ago||Actually, if the ball moves||
Actually, if the ball moves like that right before the putt, it usually moves towards you because it happens when you ground your club and move the grass blades down and the ball falls towards you. This is why if you grounded your club just before, it is not even a question that it is a penalty. DJ did ground the club, just not right behind the club, but the rules committee decided since there was no wind or anything else to move the ball, he probably did. If they really wanted to be dicks about it, they could have assessed two stroke penalty for not replacing the ball to the original position before playing.

Gravity bends the space time around it. To light, it is travelling in a straight line.

My understanding is that recent discoveries mean that bigger black holes are possible because you can go directly from gas to black holes instead of forming a star first (saving a lot of time). But even with that, there isn't enough black holes to explain dark matter.
I think the bet is still with WIMPs. Should have a better clue soon with bigger colliders like CERN.

George, unlike the show producers, has never lied about the show or the book. He just says things like "you will see" when he does not want to reveal stuff.

He said he would love to see it, but it is not happening.
And Coldhand is not Benjen. Not in the book. The show has merged several characters from the book before, but that has no effect in the books.

I was reading threads just after the coach got fired after the report. It was pretty awful.

I finally came to the same conclusion.
I always thought if something like this happened at Michigan, we would handle it "the right way". I don't believe that any more. And I disagree that it will be a subset, the majority will circle the wagon.
The tribal mentality built in to our instinct over millions of years is a hard thing to overcome. To think that you are above it all is delusional.

Pretty much. But from the opposite side. They talk about how the report is nothing but allegations with no details and no proven facts. They don't think the university should do anything until the full report is published. But that is never going to happen since this is a private university.
|7 weeks 1 day ago||We are Awful||
What I find interesting is that Baylor fans are acting exactly like Penn St fans. I checked out few of their boards and majority are upset that Briles is gone. They all blame the administrators and argue that Briles did what he was supposed to do (refer to administration), how great a guy he is and point to other players who turned out fine.
There is lack of sympathy for the victims (there is a lot of slutshaming), and most believe that Briles is the true victim in this situation.
There are also posts discussing why Baylor should bother firing Briles since they are going to get bad press either way. At least keeping Briles, they would have a good football team.
I am thinking this is the normal response by all football fans and not just PSU.
This makes me incredibly sad...

Harbaugh is under a microscope right now, which he has actively courted. You cannot make silly mistakes like this.

Look, I am the last guy to defend a guy like him. But I read the apology that was posted by the kid sounded very remorseful and contrite. And it did not look like it was composed by some lawyer.

But let's not write off a life of an 18 year old young man.

"Holier-than-Thou" attitude is exactly why these things keep happening.
Everybody thinks something like this cannot possibly happen at their institution, because "we do things right" & "we have morals". But this kind of thinking is dangerous because it makes you blind to things when something goes wrong. You make excuses like "I am sure our adminsitration is handling these things" or "the accusers must be wrong since we are not that kind of people". This makes it easier for true miscreants to hide behind the institution to rail against accusers and silence them.
Baylor is a BAPTIST college, a religious institution! If it can happen there, it can happen anywhere. If we have more people with that attitude, we can be more vigil and recognize it earlier when things go wrong. No one is immuned to this kind of travesty. It can happen anywhere. Hell, there were/are still many supporters for Gibbons and Lewan on this board.
More we recognize that, the better we will be.
|8 weeks 3 days ago||I am not excusing anything. I||
I am not excusing anything. I am just saying what you are seeing is more norm than the other way around. The only way to stop things like this from occurring is to acknowledge your tendency and fight against it. The holier-than-thou kind of attitude is exactly why these kinds of things keep happening.
And I guarantee that if something like that happened here, there will be a significant number of people on this very board defending the coaching staff.
|8 weeks 3 days ago||I wouldn't be so quick to||
I wouldn't be so quick to judge. Everybody around here loves to belittle PSU fandom for defeding Paterno, but I am saw the same behavior from Baylor fans regarding this (most are angry for firing the best coach that they ever had). I suspect that if something like this came out of Michigan, there will be plenty here defeding Harbaugh.

Sam Ukwauchu was convicted of sexual assault. That is what began this whole brouhaha, because he had extensive record of sexual deviancy before he even came to Baylor and was easily preventable.
|8 weeks 3 days ago||It is very natural for people||
It is very natural for people to circle the wagon and become defensive when attacked. Even when that attack is justified. It is just human nature.
I wouldn't be so quick to judge others as it can happen anywhere, including Michigan.
