I'd like to wish Braxton Miller a speedy recovery as well - I want to play people at full strength so that the games are great.
The injury should only affect them for the first month or so, really. This means that Navy is going to give them hell for the entire game and could even pull the upset, but I think OSU's talent will shine through, regardless of quarterback. The real test will be the home opener against VaTech. Bud Foster will be licking his chops to get his defense on a green quarterback.
As it pertains to us, by the time we faceoff, they're going to have a season's worth of experience already and should have the majority of kinks worked out. As long as we do the same then it should still be a battle.

I'd take DeMarcus Milliner.
Also, as much as I love Jeff Backus, I think it might be time to think about drafting his successor - possibly Lewan or Joeckel?

To put it over the top, I think he should have photoshopped Katherine Webb's face onto the girl.

I shed a couple of tears watching this. I love everything about Denard Rebinson and he is firmly entrenched in Michigan lore. I wait in anticipation on the day that we honor him with a Legends jersey.

I think Arizona would be a pretty intriguing match up, considering the coaching staff out there....

I think we need at least one more team in the Big 10 for some teams to break off and for a Big10. For years, the ACC only had four teams but they were power house lax teams (Duke, Virginia, UNC and Maryland). The three current Big 10 schools that have lacrosse are Ohio State, Penn State and Michigan and we aren't the power house we need to be. State used to have one but they dropped it for various reasons. It would be good to see Wisconsin and State add programs and see what kind of momentum we could create.

Seeing a picture of Denard up and quickly seeing the word "bandage" scared the piss out of me. Good thing it's nothing too serious. I hope this cures his inaccuracy problem, but if his accuracy does go up tomorrow, we have to take it with a grain of salt since it's Minnesota's secondary. The real game to see how it goes will be against Northwestern.
Still, I'm all in for healthy Denard.

I have known Chris since elementary school all the way though college and I am honored to have known him and his family. His father did a marvelous job because all his kids are amazing people. I remember talking to his dad at various events, whether they be at random sightings for school functions or during sports events. Every time, he had a smile on his face and we had great talks, whether it be about sports or just school and life. I know his dad did a great job because Chris is such a stand up guy - a man who I was proud of to call captain in lacrosse and a man I was damn proud of to see walk onto the Michigan hockey team. In the background, there was his dad - always with a smile on his face and supremely proud.
Thoughts and prayeres are with the Fragner family - one of the best that I know.

My favorite WTF position switch involves Warren Sapp - he was recruited as a tight end and he could potentially end up as a hall of famer at defensive tackle. Good times.

Holy god that was painful to my eyes. I can't tell if that game was great or horrible. I'm leaning towards horrible. Mainly because I don't like the Bears.

I am also hearing that he is stable and doing fine. Hope he is well.
I'm not sure anyone's heart could have handled the ballsy call of Little Giants. Amazing play call.

The premature flip before the goal line has actually happened to ND way back in the past. I remember watching it as a kid and asked if that was legal and then it all came running back to me when I saw the replay yesterday. When Bob Davie took the Irish to a BCS bowl a long time ago, they played Oregon State in the Fiesta Bowl and got crushed. On a long 74 yard touchdown pass, the Oregon State receiver clearly dropped the ball two yards before getting into the end zone (way further than what Ford did).
The best part? Orgeon State's receiver was none other than Chad Johnson, otherwise known as Ocho Cinco.
|4 years 6 weeks ago||Amen||
Yes, most definitely. While the first thing I thought of this morning was Notre Dame, I can't also help but think of and thank all the men and women who are seriving and have served everywhere so that we have the freedom to think about football non stop and not worry about other things.
|4 years 20 weeks ago||RIP||
Undeniable legend in all the coaching pantheons, not just college basketball. I can only imagine UCLA feels what we felt a few years back when Bo passed away. I think what I'll remember most about him is that his lessons on the court always found a way off the court.
RIP Coach Wooden
|4 years 22 weeks ago||Heads Up||
Just as a heads up - last year, someone's parents on the team made some sweet shirts that said "Back to Back" on them. I'm sure someone will make one that says three peat on them so if they do, I'll try to make it known.
BTW - thanks to everyone who supported the team this year. It means a lot to them.
|4 years 23 weeks ago||Disagree||
I could not disagree more with your statement about Stone. He played a great game yesterday - one of the best I've seen and I've been watching his games since he got to Michigan. If the coaching staff wasn't confident in Stone, they would have put in Fowler during the game, as they did last year in the regular season match up.
I have faith in Stone and that faith was rewarded last night.
I know that both Fowler and Stone will be ready at a moments notice to guide Michigan to a win.
|4 years 25 weeks ago||CCLA Champs||
The official recap isn't online yet, but the Michigan Wolverines prevailed again and beat Sparty for the CCLA championship 13 - 11.
|4 years 25 weeks ago||Not Too Much Safety Depth||
Actually, there isn't too much depth. They have Jim Leonard, Erik Smith (MSU grad), and recently signed Brodney Pool as the main guys. They have some other journeymen but if the Jets keep four safeties, I think he'd have a shot. At the very least, he could make the practice squad and then go from there.
|4 years 26 weeks ago||Home Games||
It's exactly as Tim mentions above - it just rotates every year where some years there are great home games and others not so much. This year's Oregon game was supposed to be a home game but it got moved to Dallas to be part of the lacrosse event there.
Since we're all on the club level, it's hard for teams to consistently schedule home and home series with each other and it depends on team availability and if they can get another team to come and play to take care of the OOC requirement.
|4 years 26 weeks ago||Scheffler||
Isn't the knock on Scheffler that he's always hurt as well? While Sims may not have been an ideal fit, I think I'd much rather have him that Scheffler and we could at least move Sims around to make use of him, possibly at another OLB spot. I remember hearing that he can play the other outside backer position opposite Peterson.
|4 years 33 weeks ago||Do It||
This would be great. Couldn't we say that Cromartie's talent level is at least at 4th or 5th round levels?
Although, I would say that the heart of a 4th or 5th rounder would probably be better because they would want to prove it every day in practice and in games. Also, as much as I love Detroit - he's coming to Detroit. I'm not sure how motivated he's going to be feeling for playing for the Lions.
Still, I would do it.
|4 years 34 weeks ago||Great To Hear||
Yes, I followed on twitter - great to see that they had a good start. However, I am incredibly uneasy on their next opponent - Arizona State. They will be hungry after having their season canceled last year due to conduct embarrassing to the university. They are a bunch of good guys after having met the team in Dallas a couple of years ago, so I know they will be hungry to prove themselves.
Michigan has a hard schedule coming up as they play three teams ranked in the top 5 as their next three games - Arizona State and BYU on the road and then coming home to play Simon Fraser.

Your girlfriend got a key and she's playing SC2? Dude, that's awesome. Does she have sisters?
|4 years 36 weeks ago||Wedding In A Week||
Yes, I heard the same thing about the White Castle Wedding in Chicago. It is called the Wedding in a Week put on by B96. It was actually amazing to hear how many people and companies donated free stuff (tuxes, limos, rings, dresses, bachelor and bachelorette parties, etc) in a span of a week.
|4 years 36 weeks ago||LaRose||
I totally agree with LaRose - I had him for Calc 3 and he was a GREAT teacher. He used corny but effective methods to get us to pay attention and his humor was great. I remember that he was starting to write upside down and sideways to make sure we were paying attention and would make fun of, but nicely, stupid comments. However, he was always available to help outside of class and was always willing to schedule extra time.
Also, I found out during the summer he is a PHENOMENAL ultimate frisbee player. I played against him in a summer league and his passes were ridiculous and on point everywhere. Just another added bonus.
|4 years 36 weeks ago||Results Oriented||
First of all, good luck.
I actually do some interviewing and I will tell you that we specifically look for results. For example, you do something that's listed in your resume and we'll ask you the results of those actions - positive or negative. Did it accomplish a goal that you set out? If so - how did you help out? If not - what went wrong and what would you do to rectify the situation?
Totally agree with the above - do NOT bad mouth anyone - it gives a negative portrayal of your character.
Be confident - firm handshake and smile.
Do research on the company that you are applying to - it'll make you seem very interested in the company and that way when your interviewer asks you if you have any questions, you can launch into your questions about x and y about the company.
I'd also dress up a little - not saying that it's the most important part, but as intervierwers, we want to see that you put in an effort to look nice and try to impress. It's amazing how many people think jeans and nice shows are okay to a campus interview - they are not.

This would be the school that I think of as well.
|4 years 36 weeks ago||I Second That||
Via the recruiting board, it seems Zettel would be a strong Michigan lean since he's got that offer. The more the merrier - especially with linemen.
|4 years 38 weeks ago||I agree||
I was able to meet Granderson at the Detroit Auto Show a couple of years ago and he was nothing but class - answering all questions, taking all kinds of picture requests. He will always be my Tiger.
That being said, Dombrowski made a fiscally sound decision for the franchise and he knew it was incredibly unpopular but he's trying to build for the future and he knows sacrifices must be made. I'm sure this was a really hard decision to make but in the end, I think he had to do it.
