|2 weeks 6 days ago||He's clearly Brandon's marionette, of course he's not going to||
say anything bad, Brandon won't pull the strings that way. Hoke was woefully underqualified and got his dream job, Brandon can do as he wants to him and he'll toe the line.
|2 weeks 6 days ago||Please end segment with something about Aaron Craft||
|3 weeks 22 hours ago||I've thought it through. Brandon does not deserve this job.||
Also, he's probably got some savings to fall back on, stocks, homes, boats, etc. I think he'll be okay if he loses his job.
|3 weeks 22 hours ago||He may not care about the football team but he has to care||
about the perception of the University which is definitely clouded right now by this disaster of DB's making.
|3 weeks 22 hours ago||Does anyone think an actual letter rather an email, which will||
likely be deleted with the other hundreds in the inbox would be preferrable? Some of these old regents may be more inclined to read something with a postmark.
|3 weeks 1 day ago||I didn't hear it directly, but I'm told that Bates was so upset||
by how the last hire (Brandon) went down that he will not interview for this if offered an interview. I'm hearing this secondhand but I trust my source completely, and he trusts his.
So, there's that. /guyoninternet
|3 weeks 4 days ago||One of these articles says that DB cut down nets BEFORE Beilein||
did. I don't remember reading that before, but if true, I'd have to think that the team probably didn't take that too well, so my complete and utter guess is that there are segments of other sports that also cannot stand DB.
|3 weeks 4 days ago||Yup, the very last line in the Henson email made it pretty clear||
that it was the email editorializing, and you can be sure that the last point, #20 I think, was definitely not sent to the regents.
|4 weeks 1 day ago||So, this looks "real" but it could also have been easily made in||
anyone's spare time.
Some student has to be reading this thread, go to the Union, find out of it is true or not, and post the pics here.
Bonus if you get a coed to hold the sign for you.
|4 weeks 4 days ago||Going with the over here.||
Thanks to Carlos.
|4 weeks 5 days ago||Really wanted the Vincent Smith will cook me dinner option||
but two of the MgoCharitables were faster than me. Whomever he is the chef for hopefully will post some photos. I'll stick with Vincent picking out my premium shirt this time.
|6 weeks 5 days ago||Except when they are playing Notre Dame.||
Agree with everyone else who wants the blimp/meteor/Godzilla/vishnu to win this matchup, however I can never, ever, route for ND unless there is some benefit to Michigan and really ND beating Ohio doesn't benefit Michigan.
|6 weeks 6 days ago||39-13 M||
And it won't be that close.
|9 weeks 1 day ago||I was going to post something very similar to this.||
Canteen's buzz online really has me ready for Brian to break down his game in the UFR. I am positive that Nuss will use this guy better than Borges ever would have.
|9 weeks 1 day ago||Mine arrived on Saturday.||
I'm in the South, not Michigan.
|9 weeks 4 days ago||Definitely has the feeling of the 5PM news dump at this point.||
Create the future DB.
|9 weeks 4 days ago||Stanford and Florida State.||
Second guess, Houston and S. Carolina.
|9 weeks 6 days ago||I would love if LSU or Alabama came North to play but I don't||
see it happening. LSU already has their games with Wisconsin and Penn State. They also have Oklahoma and UCLA in their futures. Les will be gone whenever this game rolls around so it isn't like we'd be bringing in the former M coach back into the Big House. I'm counting LSU out. Alabama definitely maybe but we did just play them.
I'm not counting out a mid tier SEC team like South Carolina. That would be "Big" in the sense that it isn't Kentucky from the SEC. I'm going to eliminate the SEC though as I just don't see it happening.
DB wants the big game in a big market so I wouldn't be shocked to see Stanford or USC, that would be a primetime game in LA so that seems plausable. Stanford doesn't really have any marquee future games except ND and BYU if you want to count them. USC has Texas, ND Tennessee and also BYU.
If we didn't already add the awesome Rutgers game I'd definitely be looking towards a team like Syracuse, because they are "huge" right? I'm eliminating the east coast teams.
A Texas school makes real sense. The Longhorns have a lot of big names in their future schedules, USC, ND, Ohio State. I'm going to eliminate them. I don't think anyone would say Houston, Texas Tech or SMU would be "huge" home and homes. I'm ruling out a Texas school.
So now I'm thinking a Florida school. Miami would seem logical, but they are already playing State in the future and I don't think Brandon wants to shower the M fans with "hey, look, we're playing the same tough OOC schedule as Sparty!" Miami is out. Florida State has Miami and Boise in their future. That isn't much.
My guess, Stanford, gives us the west coast market. Florida State gives us another game against a Florida school and there are plenty of M alumni down there. DB likes that, and FSU just won a National Championship so there will be luster in announcing that game. Those are my picks if DB actually means "huge home and home" series. If he doesn't, then Houston at Jerrywold and South Carolina.
|10 weeks 17 hours ago||Somewhere in this thread someone said that Tiny Jesus himself||
said "Shawn Hunwick pulled me aside and told me that the players love every chance they get to play in an NHL arena or in a special event." That's where I was going with this comment.
I agree wholeheartedly that Yost cranked up is incredible, and must be so as well for the players and recruits.
|10 weeks 20 hours ago||Spot on.||
|10 weeks 20 hours ago||Not everything can be the way it was||
Yeah, that's true, and while I'm not a season ticket holder either I'm guessing that the outrage is the bait and switch which was definitely present here. Brian and others paid $500 or so for season tickets thinking that they'd see MSU twice in Yost - marquee games. Maybe the marquee game on the schedule. Now they find out a few days after the money is paid that MSU doesn't come to Yost again and they get the added bonus of not only losing this game but if they want to see it they have to drive all the way to Chicago and probably shell out another $500 when all is said and done. That...sucks. It is wonderful for Chicago Alumni and people like me who might want to drive up to see that game, sure, but I didn't pay for season tickets thinking I'd get to see that game. It definitely is Brandon being Brandon. He's done it again and again - and Brian is correct that he is screwing over the die hard fans for a payday, exposure, all that. This is fine and good if they come out beforehand and say that there's a TBA here in the schedule that possibly won't be a home game. Season ticket purchasers can't assume that the TBA means "this game might be in another state" It is bait and switch and another example of Brandon not giving two fucks.
I'm sure the fans in the area love it, the recruits love it, the players love it, some of the season ticket holders love it, but that doesn't change the fact that the AD goes about these things in all the wrong ways. There definitely is a way to do this without the outrage.
If that billionaire donor in your scenario gives them money, cool, I'm down with it, but give the fans some respect and let them know beforehand. It is bullshit how this and many many other things go down with this AD.
Also shouldn't this game really be against Notre Dame or Wisconsin or, shoot, some East Coast school with alumni in the area. You don't pull two Michigan teams out like this. Soldier field will not be at capacity.
|10 weeks 3 days ago||Joba is 1-5 on the year. Ugh.||
I had hopes for that guy too. Not that Nathan is helping out anything either.
|10 weeks 6 days ago||Franks is one of those places that is just so bad it is good.||
I fondly recall the cook smoking cigarettes over the grill as my french toast was made. It really added something to the flavor.
*edit this was in reply to Brando.
|10 weeks 6 days ago||First game was the Colorado game.||
Defining moment in my Michigan fandom? Maybe. It has allowed me to shrug off the occasional loss and really love the last second wins like Henne to Manningham versus PSU.
Occasional loss? I remember when I could say that with a straight face.
The other thing about that game that I remember most vividly was the walk to the game itself, we passed through one of the neighborhoods and on someone's porch a fine young Wolverine coed in an American flag bikini was doing a keg stand, and possibly showing off a bit more skin than she had intended when she put on that bikini. Myself, my father, and the two guys we went with who had the tickets all slowed the walk down a bit as we walked by, and I thought to my 15 year old self "I think I'll go to college here."
|11 weeks 12 hours ago||I enjoy what you are bringing to this discussion||
So far you have me convinced.
|11 weeks 12 hours ago||Best of luck to him.||
I think mgoblog will be just fine with someone new though. His writing never really seemed up to the bar set by others, however I am clearly in the minority in this view if he was grabbed up by The Wolverine.
|11 weeks 5 days ago||Here is a direct link to the video, no need to skip ahead||
Also a nice write up from the Editor in Chief
|12 weeks 5 days ago||I'm actually surprised that the new President didn't come out||
and say he was afraid Waters was going to fire him. Those Dinosaur halftime shows are that aweomse.
|12 weeks 6 days ago||Yes. here is His stat line||
Soria has 16 saves in 17 chances this season, while posting a 2.67 ERA with 40 strikeouts and only four walks in 30 1/3 innings.
