Charlie Weis
The Onion on Charlie Weis
As usual, The Onion is hilarious. They only have a headline and a picture and it's great.

Harbaugh a candidate in South Bend - per ESPN
File this one under 'it would really suck'. A few years back I despised Harbaugh for his comments against UofM. I completely sided with Hart but since I have really appreciated how good of a coach Jim Harbaugh is. And if things get worse here and RR does indeed go I wouldn't mind seeing ole Jim at the healm (god if it were ever between him and Miles it shouldn't be close, though, that is not at all realistic).
Anyway, in the ESPN front page article that reported Weis (one 'S') was fired they listed Harbaugh as a possible candidate for the position. Okay, this is ESPN whom we all know is, um, reliable, right. But still, Jim Harbaugh is probably the last person that I would want to see coaching in South Bend.

Weiss out at Notre Dame
I just read this is the Ny Daily News. Weiss is out at Notre Dame:

Goodbye Weis
It was ridiculous to watch Notre Dame fail over and over this season. I almost felt bad. Sadly, it is starting to seem more and more likely that Charlie Weis will get canned by those Golden Domers. I kind of want him to stay for the chance that he continues to mess up, but I also hate the guy. I realize everybody will want to give their sentimental goodbyes, so I'll give you that chance. Personally, I'm not good at the whole haiku thing, but the rest of you can go for it. Charlie Weis Haikus live here.
Possible Knock on M Recruiting Methods
To start, I'm a RR supporter and I'm not trying to complain about him here. Also mandatory, didn't-see-this-on-the-board-sorry-if-it's-been-posted comment.
Smart Football has an article talking about Notre Dame's recruiting under Charlie Weis, and how it was impersonal, unresponsive, and too business-like. It had little to do with Michigan until this tidbit:
"Now, I know he (ed: Brian Kelly, referring to him asking about the coach's family) isn’t really interested in talking to me and that it’s all about my player but still it makes a difference. Ohio State, Alabama, Virginia Tech, and others all recruit about the same way as Cincinnati. Pittsburgh, West Virginia, Michigan . . . they recruit like Notre Dame."
I understand that this is just 1 high school coach. I also understand that he lives in Ohio, so it might have been a throwaway jab at Michigan. I did think it was an interesting insight into a high school coach's perspective, and was curious as to what people might think.
