MGoPodcast 3.8: Boiler Breakers
This one is slightly over an hour, like 1:06.
Topics!
Purdue. That happened, and apparently that is my terrible catch phrase.
The offense is kind of a bunch of different things. Is this good or bad?
An excessively detailed explanation of the pin and pull zone. Is offered.
Toussaint. Is praised. It is wondered why he only got two carries against State.
The defense. Is this real life?
The Big Ten. Is not good.
Iowa. Doesn't seem real good, either. Jamie brings a statistic that has us laughing in disbelief.
Music this week was tough to link to anything in particular. I stumbled across my Dismemberment Plan directory and "Memory Machine" (from Emergency & I) seemed appropriate, since they're all engineers and we could all use one of the aforementioned machines for the last few years. Then I was in the same directory and went with "Face of the Earth" (from Change) for a reason that shall remain secret. (I like it is the reason.)
The usual links:

Is there a reason Heiko doesn't do these?

It's tough for a third person to say much, as you can tell when we talk to Jamie. Also that would push it out even further and I think an hour is about the most people will deal with.

Brian thinks my face is too ugly for radio.

I really want to know what the statistic about Iowa is but I don't have the opportunity to listen at the moment...

This looks like a satisfactory place to post this:
Did anyone notice Beth Mowins would often say Fitz's name in the proper French pronunciation? "Toussough". Also, I missed the beginning of the game and assumed the whole time she was Pam Ward.

I did not notice that, but she is better than Pam Ward.

I like "that happened". Both Alec Baldwin and Will Ferrell have used it. So if nothing else, you're in good company.

"Helpful" iTunes subscribe link, eh? I do not think that word means what you think it means.

I think I fixed it for real this time. Can someone confirm? It might take a little bit to update.

Yes! It worked! Nicely done.

It didn't pop up an error message for me this time on my iphone when i started the download but it is stuck at 7.6 KB. I confirmed other podcasts are downloading.
Anyone have any idea what's going on and how to fix it? Are people still able to download successfully through itunes on iphone?

Just FYI, but apparently the awesomely-named Steele Jantz is not the starter at Iowa State anymore (unless he's injured or something)...according to the Texas Tech box score, "Jared Barnett" is. Sad news, I know.

After listening to the podcast I have a question...where is Cam G?? All off season I kept hearing that he was going to be a SLB, but he had to gain weight. Why didn't they just move him over to WLB?? He had to have been better than Hawthorne, Herron, and a freshman right?? I mean he played receiver, FS, Spur/Bandit, SLB so that shows he has some athleticism. Not only that his measureables of 6'3" 215 that seems like good size for the WLB. So why not flip him?

Brian, I downloaded the podcast, but it's only 32:40.

So, I think Ace nailed one thing on the head. There's a huge difference between the natural quirkiness of college fooball and Iowa losing to Minnesota. I don't care how many things had to go wrong for Iowa to lose that game - Michigan could have turned the ball over in the redzone 8 times and still beaten Minesota this year. In my opinion, nothing else really matters. Minnesota is absolutely dreadful and Iowa lost to them last week.
Michigan by a lot on Saturday
