MGoPodcast 1.9: All Things Delaware State! (Not Really)
Podcast this week is long, long, long. Get some tea. We talk with Jamiemac of Just Cover, as per usual, and Mike from Black Shoe Diaries about the upcoming Penn State game. Also we talk about the Delaware State game a bit. Also we talk about Terrelle Pryor, because obviously you have to.
One item: at the end of Mike's segment he starts asking for "two seconds," which I totally failed to parse. That sucks, because I've always wanted to ask a Penn State fan harboring resentment about that game a single question: do you realize that Joe Paterno asked for and got two seconds—exactly two seconds!—when Penn State was driving for the go-ahead score?
Oh well.
It look's like you don't have Adobe Flash Player installed. Get it now.

That BSD guy is on the level of a poster from the free scout board. He visited mgoboard recently to tell us how ugly UM chicks are. How lame can you be?
"To me, clowns aren't funny. In fact, they're kind of scary. I've wondered where this started and I think it goes back to the time I went to the circus, and a clown killed my dad."

Hey thanks for the kind words. I think that's the nicest thing a Wolverine fan has said to me all week.
If it sounds like I'm completely ducking one of Brian's questions, it's entirely possible I didn't hear it as his volume was really low in my ear for some reason. All I heard was "mumble mumble Sean Lee mumble injury mumble mumble mumble to play?" so I kind of just ran with it. You may even hear me ask him to repeat a few questions where I didn't get that much.
Anyway, thanks again, Brian, for having me on. Always enjoy doing these things. Good luck on the rest of your season.
You're welcome, enjoy the game.

In honor of your comment, I want to start asking questions constructed largely of the word "mumble" with only the most relevant words interspersed throughout. It seems like that would make phrasing of questions so much easier.

You're a knucklehead, Cook! I know exactly the scene you're referring to when accusing JoePa of asking for and receiving two seconds. The fact is he was verifying with the officials that he had two timeouts left at the time, not asking for and receiving two more seconds. Good Lord, you Wolverine fans are perfectly shameless!
As for the 2 seconds added on, and since you asked, this PSU fan thinks the two seconds added at Carr's request were irrelevant. For one thing, it happens all the time now that the coaches can call TO from the sidelines. Had the two seconds not been added then the only difference would have been that the TD pass to Manningham would have come one play earlier than it did. What really pissed me off was the catch out of bounds on 3rd and 17 (I think it was) earlier on that drive. Toe tap my ass! How can a full half of the reciever's foot come down out of bounds and still have it ruled a completion? Shameless!
I don't think you do, because it was never on TV. PSU takes TO, network goes to commercial, JoePa spends two minutes badgering the ref about the clock, two seconds gets put back on.

Regarding the two seconds Paterno asked for...
If I had been asked, I would have totally ducked the question. Believe it or not, I never saw the game. My wife had a wedding in her family out of town, so I was sitting in a Chapel frantically updating my cell phone with the score. It hung on that last 0:01 for about 15 minutes before it finally gave me the final. I'm sure I taped the game, but I could never bring myself to watch it. So in all honesty, if you had asked me about Paterno asking for two seconds, I would have told you I have no idea what you're talking about.
Generally I never bring up the two seconds except as a joke. Penn State had plenty of opportunities to win that game. But we did totally get hosed in 2002...

Yeah, just found that. Ho-ly shit.
Random, but wasn't it funny how their announcer kept mentioning they're going to perform in PARIS, FRANCE!? Also: "THRILLER!"

Another excellent podcast. I'm so glad JamieMac is a regular contributor, only because I tend to trust a gambler's instinct over just a fan's...only because they usually have something tangible at stake, even if that tends to blind him from any major upsets or other such goings on.
Also, please make them all this long. I usually go for my distance runs on Thursday evenings to get ready for the Friday/Saturday debaucheries, so having a nice long podcast is really nice. Plus I'm fairly sure you and Tim could riff on just about anything at length and keep it entertaining. There's a good sort of old school radio teamwork dynamic going on there...
Again, great job.
The song that comes on my iTunes every week after the podcast is over is "Real Gangstaz" by Mobb Deep. Totally appropriate.
Ok I'll try again this week. What's the music on the podcast? Thanks

The game was great. Thanks for posting this podcast. My husband got to listen to it while he installed our drop in gas grills.
The game wasn't even played yet, Ms. elle_spam!

Not Furrha -- It was Rogan.
Tim, it wasn't the elder Fur, but Doug Rogan I think who was the mystery walk-on eliciting the family cheers.
I think...
