MGoPodcast 1.1: Season Preview With Matt Hinton

So one of the cool things about engulfing Varsity Blue is absorbing their technical know-how, and one of the products of this process are eggs. I mean podcasts. Forget I said anything about eggs, which I have definitely not implanted into your necks.

Anyway: MGoBlog plans a weekly podcast this fall and possibly into the spring. Our first show is now. Tim and I talked with Matt Hinton, AKA Doctor Saturday, nee Sunday Morning Quarterback, about Michigan's upcoming season, the Big Ten landscape, and then Tim and I just talk to each other about how skeptical we are about Obi Ezeh. Be sure to count the times I try to talk over Matt like a n00b.

The show checks in at around 30 minutes. We're looking for show and guest ideas in the comments or the ol' inbox; next week we'll talk with Ball State blog Over The Pylon about Western Michigan and probably the Cardinals' addiction to former Lloyd Carr assistants. I mean, I'm guessing it will come up, right?

I want EGGS!! Actually, I think you did implant eggs somehow in our necks given how much time we all spend here, fearless leader! This is cool. I look forward listening later today and in the future. Brian, I really enjoy your guest spots on other podcasts and I know from first hand experience that Paul/Tim did excellent podcasts at VB. I loved their podcast with GSimms, for example. I guarantee this will be a very cool new feature for MGoBlog. If you ever want to talk college sports gambling, obsess about bowl projection or spots on the tourney bubble, all of you know how to get a hold of me. LOL.

It's likely my crappy work computer, but I get about 3 seconds of spicy funk horns and then nothingness. EDIT: The problem only seems to arise with Firefox and QuickTime. When I tried opening it with IE, Windows Media Player opened and it works just fine.

That music was perfect for a montage. I imagine scenes of Minor doing biceps curls, Tate throwing spirals through tire swings, Big Will running the stadium's stairs, and then Barwis making everyone drink raw eggs and chocolate milk.

FYI: The link goes directly to a file. If you only get a little bit of it, instead of left clicking on it, right click (ctrl+click for mac users) and choose "Save target as" or "Save link as"

Brian - nice job with your first ever podcast. I'm sure it will get even smoother and more "conversational" with more experience. I look forward to hearing more of 'em.

Ditto on iTunes, and dates in the titles, thanks Brian. And whatever way it's being done now requires Flash which I can't get on my phone at all. (Can't get a signal at the Big House anyway!)

I would be much obliged if we could roll some Iris Macadangdang up into this show. I know someone who she didn't block on facebook that we could ask to ask her.

Hey don't forget Zune Marketplace - there are alternatives to iTunes out there :) I think all you need to do is make it available via RSS, then Zune can pick it up. Thanks!

Anyone know of any good regular college football podcasts? I just listened to a few of the ESPN ones with Ivan Maisel and they are pretty crappy.
