Uninformed, perhaps, but not "delusional."
Tate is still probably a better passer, may have a better grasp of the offense, and is still more polished. I agree that Denard has much higher upside, and is looking like the probable starter. But this isn't a Tate/Sheridan situation, and Tate could still win the starting spot.

I don't want to get into a thing here but, it is by no means a given that Tate is the better passer and has a better grasp of the offense. I personally think that Denard is a better thrower right now mostly based on what I saw in the spring game (and what I'll see saturday). Even if Tate was the better passer, Denard's running ability is such a bigger asset in this offense that he should start

Okay buddy, Tate Forcier is a better passer than Denard Robinson. That is a fact. He has been groomed since he was born to be a QB and was rated the most accurate QB in his class. Is Denard a better overall QB for this offense? Probably, but Tate probably knows more of the playbook after running it all of last year. I think Denard is going to start when it's all said and done, but your objections were absurd.

I'm sure that everybody cares about how good Tate was in high school. As I said IMO Tate IS NOT a better passer. He has a weak arm and his accuracy last season was suspect. Denard was worse last year but that is what coaching is for. Denard is much more polished than last year

Tate's completion percentage was 58.7%. He threw for 13 TDs and 10 picks, and a QB rating of 128.15
Denard's completion percentage was 45.2%, He threw for 2 TDs (against Baby Seal U) and 4 picks, and had a QB rating of 91.59. And he did that with defenses stacking the box against the Incredibly Surprising QB Draw.
Again: LOVE Denard... but until proven otherwise with something other than Countdown to Kickoff clips, we probably have to assume that Tate remains the better pure passer.

I have a feeling tate will start, but everyone has their own opinion don't they. And it doesnt matter anyway cause they will probally split the snaps about 60/40 or 50/50 in games anyway.

I'd rather discuss something of substance. Rodriguez said today that all three quarterbacks are now playing very well, so what was filmed last week isn't as important.
I'd rather discuss the M drill, where I saw good things out of both sides. I was pleased to see excellent blocking, but also pleased that the offense didn't REPEATEDLY get the better of the defense, and some stops were made in the first level. We're DEFINITELY going to be improved on defense.
It was hard to tell who the best looking RB was, and I don't recall one guy at the first and second levels making good stops, but I saw both Cam Gordon and Jordan K pushing through the whole play and making a couple of good third level stops. I think I saw Martin with a very solid first level mandhandling of his blocker.

The defense probably had the edge because it was the first day in pads, but they looked pretty good. Both sides of the line looked good, and Cox showed some pretty good lateral movement.
Solid tackling makes me happy.

Not sure why a lot of folks think we will be better if our ONLY experienced QB doesn't start and only plays 50% of the time.
We need Tate's game experience. Practice is simply that. Not a very good indicator of how well you'll play at game speed.

Trust the coaches...they know what they're seeing in practice every day. They see every play, not just clips - they will make the right decisions. We are all looking forward to seeing Denard make plays this year, and HE WILL!!! Tate showed me a lot last year, but he truly wasn't the same after the injury vs. Indiana (aggrivated again at Iowa). I expect to see all three QB's this year, and I don't think Gardner will redshirt, but rumors of Tate's demise are far overstated.

I always sort of hoped that Tate would eventually be a maize and blue version of Fran Tarkenton. If he could just turn the "happy feet" into something more consistently productive rather than fear-provoking, that would be nice. Maybe experience will help make that happen more this year. Then he can go on to host an updated version of "That's Incredible" and have many infomercials and entrepreneurial ventures after the Hall of Fame.

Experience is extremely important. Why do you think people were flipping shit about Woolfolk's injury? Was it because he was more talented than Cullen Christian? Or was it because we figured it might be a good idea to have someone who has played in some games?

Denard will have a much easier time passing this year because of the QB coaching, increased knowledge of schemes/philosophy, and for the shear fact that he is the most dangerous runner on the field every snap( "broken plays are very dangerous for a kid like this-look at at that speed!"). Teams will have to respect his ability to run and therefore, he will probably have easier coverages to deal with. I won't argue that Tate is not in the running (just watched the ND game), it just seems like Denard gives the offense the best chance to be incredible, while Tate is the "proven" choice if you want to call it that. If the coaches can figure out a way to use both of them effectively, it forces opposing defenses to account for both styles of play which helps Michigan's chances on the field. We're lucky to have two (probably 3) play-making quaterbacks, like RR said, it's not bad to have competition when both guys could potentially start. I love both guys and hope they have great moments this season. Go Blue!

I still think Forcier will play the first series, but I think we'll see a lot of both QB's after that. I have a feeling that playing time will be earned game by game. Hopefully, the only possible reason for seeing DG play is that he developed too fast to keep him on the bench. Otherwise, I am still holding out hope for a DG redshirt.

If it's just obvious that putting him in will score us more touchdowns than we are currently scoring, then you've gotta put him in. But Given we have one known to be very good passer who can also break ankles and run, and one very good runner who we expect to be a vastly improved passer, I don't THINK we'd score that much more with a Freshman, no matter how good he may be.
That said, I think that there is little question at this point that DG is going to be the five star everyone was salivating over.
