Zeke Pike commits to Auburn.

JHokanson Justin Hokanson

US Army All-American, Dixie Heights (KY) QB Zeke Pike commits to #Auburn.

Not surprising but sucks nonetheless.

So how we doing with Gunner Kiel? Maty Mauk? Shane Morris?

Lets go Hoke!

If Zeke feels more comfortable at Auburn then so be it. I'm confident in the recruiting abilities of Hoke and Co. so far.

I'm right there with you.  One recruit isn't going to make or break this recruiting class.  I'm confident that Hoke and Co. are working their tails off to get us the best recruits possible.  BTW, I spoke to DG on Monday in class about Pike and he said he hoped Pike would commit here.

I'd love Maty Mauk, if he goes to Notre Dame I'm gonna be even more pissed than Pike going to Auburn since we'll have to play against him. Not to mention he threw 69 touchdowns last year.

People need to stop emphasizing Mauk's stats. We all know they're ridiculously inflated, it's a product of the system they run.

Mauk would be fine although my concern with him is that we're essentially getting Tate Forcier 2.0. And look how that worked out. Not going to say I don't want him, he's a good player, but I'd be happier with Gunner Kiel or Shane Morris in 2013 as opposed to Mauk.

He seemed like an enthusiastic kid. But I'm not that worried. QB is hardly a position of need. Even if we don't get someone else, it just means an extra scholarship for some other great player who wants to come here that we didn't think we'd have room for. Good luck to him at Auburn. And NEXT!

at least now the kid can get that Hummer he always wanted.

The bright side of this is that we don't have to worry about ever meeting him in a bowl game since Auburn won't be allowed to play in one once the NCAA wakes up and realizes they've been duped by the SEC.  Oh wait, that will never happen.  Just slap them on the wrist, that seems to work.

Looks like we're gonna be putting our eggs in the Shane Morris basket.  Bet he's actually pretty happy with this.  Would have been awsome to get Pike, but if there's one position that we can miss on an elite prospect this year, it's QB.  Not so much next year.  After we start winning, it will be easier to convince them to come.

If he gets DGB to follow him to Auburn, then this will sting for me.

Right now, especially with those Yahoo! reports still due out sometime this summer, and a potential NCAA sanction fest of Auburn, I am not concern.

Best of luck to you Zeke.  Here's hoping Auburn gets reamed and you change your mind.

Ehh Fuck Auburn and anyone who plays for them, hell anyone who plays for any other team other than Michigan. If youre not with us, you're against us.

DR is a junior ... DG will have a few more years.  We will still will add a solid QB this year.  Then we close the S. Morris deal next year.  He will take the helm in a few years.  NO worries.

the presence of Denard and Devin might be exactly the problem and that might affect the recruiting of other "elite" quarterbacks.  If you have the ego that most of these kids have, telling them they're going to sit for a year is a big deal.  At Michigan there's a pretty good chance right now, that any quarterback who commits now can look at three years of sitting unless Devin goes to the NFL after the 2013 season.
