Submitted by Raoul on

Congrats to Zack Novak for signing a deal yesterday to play professionally in Europe for Landstede Basketball, based in Zwolle, Netherlands. He confirmed the news on Twitter:

Heading to Holland to play for @LandstedeBasket next year. Can't wait!

Landstede competes in the First Division of the Dutch Basketball League, the top pro league in the Netherlands. Patrick Beilein played for them in 2006.

For those who might have missed the earlier news, Stu Douglass signed a deal to play in Spain.

I talked to Zack yesterday. My son attended Beliens summer camp and I passed him in the hallway of the new player development center. He spoke with me for five or six minutes and was really everything you would expect, a Straight up great guy. He told ne he had just signed his contract and seemed excited. I wished him luck on his next adventure and pretty much thanked him for being such a key component in the rebirth of the program. That said, was blown away by all of the student athletes and staff. It was a wonderful week my son will never forget. The future is so remarkably bright for Michigan basketball.
