Agreed, not sure who's celebrating him - I don't think he was on any Heisman watch lists
But, for the record, his stats aren't horrible (they don't compare that unfavorably to our own QBs from last year) and he was a highly rated kid (to ND first, I think, then UConn).

Yeah, he only had 3 un-bad games, and they were against poor defenses (Cinci, Syracuse, USF). Every other game ranged from below average to pathetic. And it's not like he figured it out for the end of the season because his bowl game sucked.
He's not like our QB's - ours were freshmen last year, and we can expect a good amount of improvement. He was a fourth-year junior last fall, he should have had it together by then. He might improve some, but then again he also lost his top receiving targets. I don't think we need to fear him, exactly.

In 4 of his 8 games played last year he completed less than 50% of his passes. Also went 9/20 for 140 something yards in their bowl game. Yea, he's meh.

If he is being celebrated, it would be because he once wore a Notre Dame helmet. Therefore, he is of superior talent independent of what recent history would otherwise suggest.

I think Michigan will be paying attention more to UConn's run game with Jordan Todman then to the passing game of Zach Frazer. Their three top receivers graduated the program last year so I'm feeling as though there is going to be alot of running.

UConn is likely to try to test U of M's secondary w/ a lot of play-action passes.

I went to a rival school of his and graduated the same year as him. He can definitely pick a defense apart (he set the Pennsylvania state passing yards in a season record or came close his junior year, and if you know PA QB history, that's one hell of a feat). BUT, if you put a lot of pressure on him he'll fold considerably under pressure. Teams figured this out his senior year, and didn't pass for more than 1,200 yards in a pass-heavy spread offense and threw a ton of picks with very few TD's. His team went from serious state title contender junior year to not coming close to making the playoffs his senior year.

When you (like myself) read the various breakdowns of Saturday's game, their list of strengths always include a returning (slightly less than average) quarterback, and I don't know if that should be considered a strength. It must be noted that a lot of teams get the benefit of added experience and "another year in the system" that Michigan is rarely afforded. People say our defense will be worse than last year but discount the fact that we are bringing back a lot of game experience. Media says UConn with their sub-par offense last year will be better BECAUSE they have the game experience and who they are bringing back. They lost a rb and wr from last years team who were possibly two of their top offensive talents. Sounds similar to our defense this year.

I'll leave it at "He's not the second coming of Brady". I don't want to see that F'ing Otter at all this year and so will refrain from knocking another team's players.

I'm not worried about Frazer at all. He's a mistake waiting to happen. He might throw for a touchdown or two, but he's going to make a mistake or two that will cancel his good out. Here's to an opening day victory!!
