I have been posting on this board for over a year. I can't post my own thread because I don't have enough points I guess. How do you find out how many points you have? Also what posts go where? This shouldn't be brain surgery. Sometimes I just want to post an opinion or some Info I heard. Help!!!! Thanks.

Probably should be moved to mgoboard.
His friend and teammate Shumate is said to be favoring South Carolina and ND and is set to announce this weeked.
Wright said that if he does announce he will still take his reamaining visits.

but for those who have not seen it, there is a long, wonderfully detailed profile on Don Bosco Prep in New Jersey (Yuri Wright) in last week's New Yorker magazine. By Ben McGrath. I was going to post it up again, thinking that by now it would have been pulled out of The New Yorker's subscriber-only section. Sadly, it is still paywalled. But for those of you who know a New Yorker subscriber, the article is really a great read.
Don Bosco Prep is in Ramsey, (northern) New Jersey. (About a half-hour from the fictional Sopranos HQ.)
Some great quotes from the story:
For all the pride in "Jersey football," Don Bosco Prep is really something of a metro-area all-star team. More than twenty players on its varsity roster commute from New York.
Another father apporoached me in September and said, "If you write a hit piece, these guys will come find you." He was kidding, I think.
If I was someone who was predisposed to think that the story was a hit piece on Don Bosco, that is exactly what I would have concluded. Paulie Walnuts would be taking Ben McGrath for a ride.
Phil Simms, who won a Super Bowl as the Giants' quarterback, and is the father of a Don Bosco grad, told me, "They work harder than the pros. That's not even in question."
Yuri Wright is mostly left out, in favor of his underclass teammate CB/RB Jabrill Peppers (2014-LSU recruit). I don't know if recruiters might be thinking that getting Yuri Wright might give them an inside track on getting Peppers; I have not heard that. But Peppers appears to be an amazing talent.
The New Yorker's blog entry (not the full article) is outside the paywall here:
Edit. - There is very little discussion of collegiate recruiting in the New Yorker profile. There is, however, a lot of discussion about how Don Bosco and similar schools assemble football talent to create traveling high school superteams. While not totally unique to the Catholic schools, it is a phenomenon that we see in an awful lot of places, including metro Detroit with CC, Rice, OLSM, DeLasalle and others. I have no way of knowing, or (better yet) quantifying the extent to which that connection gives ND a bit of an advantage in tight recruiting battles. FWIW, Detroit Catholic Central has been nothing if not a fantastic Michigan feeder program. But in northern New Jersey, there is no Michigan. There is no USC, as with Mater Dei in SoCal.
Edit. ii - Don Bosco Prep apparently has some local tv coverage, complete with celebrity All-Pro color commentary. In the person of none other than former- M Wolverine, former NY Giant Amani Toomer. They credit Toomer with coining the name for Jabrill Peppers' touchdown dance; the "Pepper Shake." Hopefully Toomer is doing everything possible within the rules to get and keep Michigan on the lists of Wright and Peppers.

Perhaps the staff started recruiting Armani Reeves because they got a hint that Wright was leaning away from us.

"I was just wearing the hat to wear it," Wright said. "I wasn't trying to say I committed or nothing like that. They went with my sneakers, so I said why not?"
I don't think he's sold out to the golden domers just yet...

I don't think he's Irish, if he's still going to take all five of his official visits.

Yuri doesn't sound Irish.

Just like Garnett in the Michigan shirt...I don't like looking into this, some kids just like the attention to build up their "okie doke."
Now if I do wanna look into it...I'll say that Garnett isn't the attention loving type of kid...so his was geniune. Wright, wants the "shock value" and he's coming to Michigan too. :)

until these recruits sign their LOI I'm not worried about it. Just like out recruits aren't secure until they sign theirs.

we don't need him, and he's not going to make or break this class regardless. if he wants to ruin his collegiate career by going to nd that's his choice.

those who stay will be champions
and those who don't even come, well fuck em
